"I definitely feel like I got bamboozled by the reviews. I came here this morning and ordered 2 deluxe tacos and a Randy. The bacon on everything was burnt -- not crispy, just burnt. The deluxe tacos barely seemed to have any sauce or other meat besides the burnt bacon, and the Randy mostly tasted like burnt bacon and onions. I honestly couldn't taste much of anything else. Really disappointing experience."

They were a little hard to find as they are located across the street from a shell station. Their address brings you to a corner where there are 4 food trucks! They are on the side all alone and are setup semi permanently. I found them on Yelp when I looked for tacos. I ordered a couple of beef fajitas tacos and they did not disappoint. I would definitely return just for them. There's a pretty extensive menu of choices. There is a couple of tables with umbrellas to wait under and a covered area with seating also. I will definitely return to try a few different tacos.

If y'all haven't found this gem... woooooDogggggy- ya missing out!! Seriously, hands down the best breakfast tacos and NOW they have BURRITOS! Honestly, it was too much food for me, but I had to get it once. The sheer size of this thing- remote for context. They do bulk orders if you're looking to feed a crowd and open at 6am. Next time you're in the area, please give them a try. No picture, but the Aqua Fresca Piña is also amazing!!

I was super excited to try this place out based on all of the reviews, but unfortunately did not have the same experience. The service was great and the employees were sweet, but I was disappointed with the food. I ordered fajita, barbacoa, and Al pastor tacos and a fajita quesadilla. Despite the picture and how it looks, the barbacoa was the best in terms of flavor. The food is definitely not what you would expect from an authentic Mexican food truck. They put tomatoes and lettuce in their tacos and quesadillas. If you look at the cheese in the quesadilla, you can tell they used shredded mixed blend cheese that you can get from the grocery store. The Al pastor and fajita meat were pretty dry also. One of the pros of the place is that they don't skimp with the meat.

Best tacos in not only Katy but all of Houston as well. Friendly service, place has been here forever but I only just found it! Don't be like me. Go here today and you'll have found Katy's best kept secret! Don't be fooled by the other imposter trucks on the same corner. TEX-TACO OR NO TACO IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!

Tried this place out based on the reviews it had. Total let down. I called ahead to place my order, upon arriving to the window (after waiting about 20 minutes just to pickup), they told me they had forgotten my order...?? They misplaced it or lost it and then told me they had it but forgot what name it was supposed to be under. Already annoyed, I replaced my order and received it pretty quickly considering (hence the three stars) We live 10 minutes from this place, so I was a little disappointed when our food wasn't very warm (Reheated what we could). A couple of our tacos weren't what we ordered, and they were just ok. The salsas were pretty good though ‍. This is what I get for cheating on my original weekend breakfast place. read more

The food is typically very good and hot which is why I've been back a few times for their breakfast tacos. Today I was met with terrible service. My wife placed a call in order and I went to pick it up. When I got there I just wanted to know how long it would be since it was really cold outside and I didn't have a buzzer. I went up front to only ask how long and the lady gave me so much attitude about skipping the line. Even when I asked for more sauce, which I'm happy to pay for, she rolls her eyes. Good food is one thing, but great service is what brings me back. All I said to her is she could have politely let me know to wait in line and I would have had no issue or have waited in the car. Not sure I'll be back because of this experience. read more

Ahhh I've finally found my breakfast taco spot! To start they are CASH ONLY. I unfortunately learned that the hard way. However it is worth the extra energy to get some and go back and order. Plus tip them they deserve it. My go to is the bean and cheese taco, potato and cheese taco & the veggie taco add avocado for breakfast. Try both the red and green sauce they offer and pick the spice level you want. And it's an absolute must that everything you get to be paired with the melon agua fresca. I crave that drink alone literally all the time. As for the tacos the way they cook the tortilla is the perfect blend of soft and warm and crunchy. I have yet to come for lunch/dinner tacos but if I make it back on this side of town before they close I'll be sure to stop in and grab some seeing as how great the morning is. read more

Bloody remarkable! 8.7 miles from my Cinco Ranch home, but well worth the adventure. FRESH, tasty, unique and very affordable. Got Breakfast tacos from me and wifey. We both raved about them. Went here for lunch today with one of my good friends. We both got the lunch plate with beef fajita and chicken. The food was super tasty and the sauces were good as well and had a nice kick. I had a Coke in the glass bottle as well. You can't beat that combination of street tacos and a Coke!! I will definitely go here again and the prices are awesome as well!! Wow what a hidden gem in Katy Texas! My son played four games here this weekend and I notice this taco truck actually I found it with you to be honest. So we need a quick snack in between games we came here and got two tacos each. Once again another Mexican restaurant or taco stand that does not serve carne guisada. I guess it's just the specialty that only certain restaurants serve. They have a really cool sign that says say no to drugs and yes to tacos. That is the best sign I have ever seen in my life! Back to the Tacos. The Barbacoa is amazing! The green sauce is so good. I really wish all Mexican restaurants would make the green sauce like they do it here. Full of flavor and very spicy. I also got the Decsebrada taco, it wasn't as good as the Barbacoa but it wasn't bad either. I personally like the Barbacoa a lot. If I am ever in Katy Texas I will definitely stop here again and get some more Barbacoa tacos. Keep up the good work guys! read more

This is my new go to breakfast taco place! I don't eat eggs so I always get bacon and potato. Potatoes are amazing, never over cooked or crunchy like other places. And their green jalapeño sauce is amazing! I've been buying jars of it every weekend! Would highly recommend! read more

I don't usually eat at taco trucks, but these were highly rated and was doing steady big business so decided to give it a go. I wasn't disappointed! They have a covered (sorta) enclosed seating area... it was dry & blocked the wind. The service was quick, friendly and accurate. I would recommend to check it out. read more

This place has the best food very reasonably priced!! The service is very good as well especially considering how busy they always are. You can call ahead to place your order to avoid an excessive wait. I am absolutely addicted to their green sauce. I buy it in the quart jar! They sell their red sauce in quart jars as well. Value. If you're searching for good food at good prices this is it. I am over going to a food truck with restaurant prices. This place has less overhead and passes savings on to you the customer. Food. I love their Barbacoa and Beef Fajita tacos, and my wife likes their Beef Gordita Gorditas! The lemonade is FRESH and worth it - but it is slightly bitter! Don't forget to tip and you can call ahead as lines do form on weekends! read more

Top of the morning my fellow Yelpers. So my wife and I decided this morning that we were in the mood for breakfast tacos. Yeah, we could have made our own but neither of us wanted to do it so we decided to head out for breakfast. We jumped on Yelp as usual and to our surprise, the Katy area has an array of breakfast taco's spots. After looking at a few places, we decided on Taqueria Tex-Taco. We have driven past there 100 to times as the road that they sit off of is the road we take to get to I- 10. So let's get to the food, I got a Randy Taco, Breakfast Burrito and a Jimmy Taco, wife had 3 Randy Taco's.......folks the flavors are out of bounds! The moment that the flavor hits your pallet, boom goes the dynamite. We have had some pretty darn good breakfast taco's and made some darn good ones but these right here are the truth and will blow your mind folks. I had the pleasure of being in the US Navy and was a West Coast Sailor who spent many weekends in Tijuana and these took me back to one of my favorite spots to get breakfast taco's in northern Mexico. As for the decor, well it is basic but as I always say, "are you there to eat or are you there to live"! The staff are extremely friendly and somehow, they knew we were first timers. The tomatillo sauce that was recommended was outstanding. My only critique would be the red sauce. I tried it and it was okay, not bad but not great. Other than that the whole experience was pretty good. So if you are out and about in Katy looking for some authentic Tex-Mex for breakfast, stop by this place folks. You will be happy that you did. There are only 2 places that I will go to for breakfast taco's in Houston, and now I can say, there are 3 places now! As always, thanks for reading, my fellow Yelpers. read more

Felt a craving for street tacos and we read the reviews for this place. So we had to try. Well this taco truck has their business in "check" not only do they have their menu on a QR code for easy download. They also have a small carport transformed to a dining area and TV playing in the back ground. And of course the food...we got a couple of tacos to try and we were not disappointed. We got a barbacoa and a fajita taco with avocado and they were awsome. They were not greasy and the tortillas were on point. They come with their hot sauces but did not burn the faces off. Also the lemonade is a must try. If you are feeling the street tacos, you gotta try this place. We are coming back for breakfast. read more

Love Tex-Taco. I always grab breakfast tacos from this place. I get their Bacon, egg, and potato taco. Always fresh and they have the best crunchy bacon. Its the best breakfast tacos in the area. So convenient and their staff is super nice. read more

What made it even more frustrating is that we've been to the Cypress location many times, and every single visit there has been exceptional -- great food, great service, and consistently enjoyable. Unfortunately, the La Centerra location was the complete opposite. We waited over an hour for our food, only to receive the wrong appetizer. The fajita plate arrived cold and without rice, beans, or tortillas. We sent both dishes back. The replacement appetizer -- ceviche tostadas -- finally arrived, but it was overloaded with lemon to the point of being unbearably sour. Meanwhile, there were still no tortillas, rice, or beans in sight. No drink refills, no updates, and barely any service during the entire wait. After another long stretch of waiting, we finally asked the server what was happening, only for her to return and tell us the kitchen was closing and they no longer had tortillas, rice, or beans available. At that point, after nearly 1.5 hours, we walked out with nothing but a to-go box of fajita meat. To the manager's credit, they removed the appetizer and fajita charges from the bill, but the experience itself left such a bad taste that it completely overshadowed the gesture. Extremely disappointing, especially compared to the excellent standards we've experienced at the Cypress location. Sadly, we will not be returning to this location.
