Came for a cleaning and it was done in 5 minutes or less and they didn't even polish my teeth or floss!! What??!! I asked do you guys not floss and polish here? And they said to me "only if we think you need it." That makes no sense and is not up to standard care. I came back to have my fixed retainer glued back on (called before my appointment to make sure it was covered and they said it was) only to find out they were going to charge me $170. I waited almost a hour after my scheduled time to be brought in also. Wasted both of our time. Im extremely mad. UPDATE: you have no record of me bcus i recently got married and changed my last name and have not updated on my yelp account. UPDATE: In response to the owner's reply, I had to come and lower the score to a 1-star for lying or having inaccurate records, stating that I've no-showed in the past month. That's factually untrue. I won tickets to Lady Gaga and rescheduled my appointment within an hour of knowing I wouldn't make it to the dentist appointment on the day of the concert. I replied to a text message 24 hours prior to the appointment and when I didn't get a response, I called and spoke to an administrator directly. It's not reasonable to expect patients to confirm an appointment they already scheduled or face getting your appointment cancelled. It's over the top and not good customer service. Original Review: If a person sets an appointment, then it should be safe to assume that the appointment is set and unless otherwise directly informed, the patient shouldn't need to call back to confirm an appointment. Their policy is that the patient needs to call back and confirm the appointment they already set or they will cancel the set appointment. Heba cited that I've missed appointments in the past. When? Literally years ago. The last appointment I needed to reschedule, I was able to request a rescheduling 24 hours prior. Honestly, it seems so unreasonable to me to cancel an appointment, because the patient doesn't have the time to call you back to confirm something that has already been set. There are other little things I don't like about this office, but this policy is absolutely ridiculous. Going to the dentist should be convenient and welcoming. I've been a patient here for the past 4, almost 5 years. I called to schedule an emergency appointment for a severe mouth lesion caused from a toothbrush injury (stupidest injury ever I know, but it's caused so much pain, hurts 24/7, and has prevented me from eating any solid foods and doing my job properly (as talking too much is too painful) for a week now). The first red flag was they didn't have me in their system. We tried my birthday, phone number, nothing came up despite me having multiple procedures and cleanings done here. When I arrived at my appointment the next day (the only reason this is 2 stars and not 1 is because I appreciated the last minute appointment), I gave them my medical ID number, and yet I still had to fill out ALLLL the new patient paperwork. I waited over an hour in the waiting room, which I did so patiently and happily as I know that happens sometimes with last minute appointments. When the staff (hygienist maybe?) finally saw me, they had no clue why I was there. They started talking about X-rays and cleanings and I had to stop them to explain that I was in intense pain and that was the reason for my visit. They still tried to get me to do full mouth X-rays, which I denied because A) I didn't want any dental work done and B) I could hardly open my mouth, and the location of my lesion would make it impossible for me to have the plastic thing they use for X-rays lodged in my cheek. After some hemming and hawing, the dentist came in and had me open my mouth to look at the lesion. He poked and prodded it causing instant tears to flow. He looked at it for no more than 10 seconds and then said he'd be referring me to an oral surgeon because he saw something "concerning." I told him I knew there was nothing they could do to fix it, but I just needed to know if it looked infected as the pain was spreading down my jaw. He wouldn't answer. At the front desk, feeling defeated (and scared about what "concerning" meant), I waited another 10 minutes for the oral surgeon referral paperwork, still crying from pain, hunger, and frustration. The receptionist told me there's typically a very long wait to see the surgeon (in my experience it's been close to if not well over a month). When I got to the car, I called the oral surgeon only to be told they don't "do lesions" unless it's paired with an extraction. I called the dentist to ask for a different referral and was told they'd get one and call me "right back." It's been 2 days so I'm guessing they forgot. I can't remember a single other time I've cried in public, and frankly I'm shocked at how little the staff seemed to care. I asked about pain management and was told they'd need a full set of X-rays before they could prescribe me anything since I was a "new patient" (which, if you remember, I was not). I ended up making a same day appt with my physician who was SIGNIFICANTLY kinder, gentler, and more understanding. She prescribed me magic mouthwash which she also told me my dentist should have prescribed. She said there was nothing "concerning" about it, but it was a major wound and she couldn't believe my dentist sent me out the door with nothing. When I first started coming here I was happy with the demeanor of the staff, both at the front desk and in the back, but the demeanor was very different this time. Funny thing is I referred my husband here and he's had nothing but bad experiences- to the point where I thought he was just exaggerating. Nope! Either something changed in the past 1-2 years or I just got lucky the first few times I visited. Needless to say, I do not plan on coming back. read more

Very upsetting experience. I truly regret choosing his dentist office. The doctor was negative and tried to make me feel bad about my teeth with his comments he was in and out NOT personable at ALL. I kept getting calls about being approved for CLEANINGS when I asked about the approval for treatment I was told I'd get a call back but continues to get numerous calls about cleaning over treatments. The crown I got cemented here came off in less than a month and they shaved the tooth down soo much they couldn't cement it back so now I have to get it PULLED. For the above review I received a response! I received a response from the office manager saying that the doctor did go over your X-rays with you! Question, How do you know he went over my X-rays? You were not there! We're you? I never saw my X-rays. It is customary to put the X-rays on the monitor and however briefly go over them with the patient. Your entire set up was very weird. Also when a person came to do the teeth cleaning. I asked his name, also asked if he was a Dental Hygienist he did not say a word and left! After about 5 minutes another guy came in and said maybe we should do the cleaning next time! I said OK that's fine. Very strange! if anyone knows what's going on with that I like to know! So I say this; I wrote what I experienced, I didn't "complain" about your office or procedures, I stated them honestly and respectfully, which is what reviews are about. It is not only about the appearance and comfort of your office - tho it is important as it is the "face" of your business; whether you have pride in ownership, wish to present a professional appearance and make people comfortable., but the treatment I received. No, there was NO treatment plan discussed with me or I would have put that in as a "pro." I knew of nothing about this until I called my insurance company as I stated before. You are 100% inaccurate and I believe purposefully deceptive in your comments, and based on what I've seen in your comments to other people's negative reviews as well, is incredibly unprofessional. And I am firmly convinced you had people undo those people who liked my review in an attempt to downplay or discredit it instead of looking to see if there may be changes needed. That's up to you.. You are in a strip mall, which is a business along a row of other open-air smaller businesses with a sidewalk in front; that is your office space as I described. There are bigger stores across the space, but not where you are. I don't know why you took such offense with that because my description is accurate. As far as your office front, the only thing delightful, or pleasant, is Reem, I didn't meet anyone else there so I cannot speak to that. Bottom line really is this: people can judge for themselves. Personally, I found it very uncomfortable, whether the seats are leather or not; I didn't notice because it was dark, and I was cold sitting right next to the open door because there was no other place to sit at that time without touching shoulders with someone, and it was cold outside. The person who came and sat next to me, our shoulders were touching, their face was literally right next to mine, and no other seats were available where I would not have had the same situation again with someone different). With flu, cases of covid on the rise again, I was extremely uncomfortable and would have had to stand outside otherwise, and as I stated, it cold outside. If you remember, as I stated in my prior review, I was hoping to like this place. And honestly I have been more comfortable at nail salons and have had better service, which is not just about the way it looks. I will be contacting an attorney about this dentist. They purposely waited to treat my most decayed teeth last and then told me I had to pay 80$ or they'll refuse to continue treatment . They treated teeth that didn't even bother me instead of the 2 that REALLY hurt/needed treatment. Horrible. They will try to give you a root canal on every tooth $$. I was contacted by the office and was let know that I was due for a cleaning which I specifically asked over the phone if it was going to be covered by insurance before making an appointment they proceeded to tell me it was and to go ahead and schedule. Then at the appointment I was told I was not within coverage and to come back. This is an extreme inconvenience as I set time for this appointment to be told they can not do the service. I'm writing this after my second appointment. I had messaged the practice on here to inquire about if they accept DentiCal. They responded very quickly and politely let me know that they do. I called to schedule my first appointment and the receptionist was very friendly. They schedule me an appointment for just two or three days out (super quick for most places!). I arrived a bit late but they still seen me, weren't rude and understood my situation. My first and second appointment went very well (all of the staff are great (super friendly and kind) and the Dr actually listens if you say you need more numbing! This place is good but can definitely be better, I definitely recommend coming here with lots of patience and time I've been here twice and it's definitely a wait I had my appointment at 12pm I got a call around 11am if I could come in earlier due to what I had to get done "the dentist needed extra time" and since it was "around lunch time it might not be done" although with the short notice I was able to arrive at 11:30am and was not seen till 12:30pm even though I was told to come in earlier. I waited half a year to write this review as I wanted to make sure everything turned out well and that I could be totally honest when posting this review. Forever thankful to Dr. Gonzalez and the entire staff. I especially appreciated Dr. Tarabishi's personal involvement. He took the time to oversee the process from across the world at all hours. My bite was misaligned, I had worn out the enamel on the inside of my upper teeth, all the way down to the gums. I was saved last minute. Got crowns on all teeth and have a natural looking, gorgeous smile. I initially planned to seek treatment in Peru, then in Turkey, but couldn't pull off 5 - 6 weeks vacation (both quoted 10 days to complete, don't believe it!) You will need two months to do it right. Now that I understand the process, I am beyond thankful to have done the work in San Diego (I live in Berkeley). I received quality materials and had access to emergency care had I needed it. I had no pain and only minimal discomfort, -pleasantly surprised! To all at Tarabishi Dental, thank you for your care, kindness and support, before, during and after appointments. I've had the best experiences at this place. I've always hated the dentist and never trusted them because they'd always try to push so many different services on me. That was never the case here. Additionally, I'm a broke student on DentiCal and they NEVER made me feel less than because of it. They always treated me with the utmost respect and care. I had three wisdom tooth extractions and the process and recovery went by so smoothly. Absolutely no pain during the extractions and standard pain during the recovery. I was looking for an in-network dentist nearby, and I decided to try Tarabishi Dental, even though they do not accept credit card payments (it's cash only). I always hate looking for a new dentist because I've had some bad experiences in the past, but my first experience at Tarabishi Dental was great. The lobby is tiny, so you may have to wait outside, but they have multiple stations, so they can handle multiple clients at the same time. The receptionist, Reem, was very pleasant and professional. The dental hygienist, Amna, was kind and did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. The dentist, Dr. Gonzales, was also pleasant. I didn't have any cavities, so the exam was quick, and I scheduled a follow-up appointment for 6 months later. I got three crowns here and I can honestly say that rn this is one of the only dentists offices I trust . If I need a procedure done I go to them . I have dentist anxiety and the doctors here are really good with my anxiety. They don't get bothered when I'm jittery or asking too many questions. They explain things throughly .
