Today I went to Target. Large Target is a nice place to spend a hour. Currently, Mario Strikers is on demo to play in the electronics section. Here's a hint to scoring, you need to get a rebound. The game is so hard! Anyway, there is a huge selection of toys and sporting goods, makeup, plants, etc. You name it, they have it. Anyway, if you are looking specifically for bicycle riding gloves, they do not have them. I would also like to point out that the shopping cart escalators are fabulous. read more

I was just telling my friend, no matter what day and time I go to this Target, it is never crowded. Saturday, I went at 1:30pm and the parking lot was full but got a close space. When I got inside, the place wasn't packed with customers, nor the check out lines. So I still like this store. read more

The security guard and staff racially profiled my roommate, accused her of shoplifting, and did not apologize or compensate her after they *unsurprisingly* discovered that she did not in fact steal anything from the store, after making her dump out everything from her bag. Very humiliating and violating experience overall. read more

Can I give it a 4.5????? This is one of my favorite targets in the Bay. It's close to the freeway, so it's easy to stop in on the way to a function and get a gift or a a card. AND they have a Starbucks - WOOOO-HOOO. Sadly, the staff at the Starbucks is terrible but the caffine is needed. But, this store is always clean, the bathrooms are nice too. I did have an issue returning stuff one time. They gave me two different gift cards because i had two different items i was returning. here's the synopsis: Me: ummmmmm, can you combine that into one card???? clerk: you have two different receipts, right? me: yes [wondering if it's a trick question, b/c she's holding the receipts] clerk: then you get two gift cards me: why can't you just put it on one? they're both from target. clerk: two receipts, two cards friend on the phone who overhead the exchange: just slowly back away from the counter after you get your gift card. Don't challenge her, she seems *special* me: OK, fine. I keep going back because it's convenient, and i figure that the staff that I don't like will leave at some point, but Target is forever!!!! read more

In my late teens, I was very anti-Target because of the whole Down with Capitalism thing. But then I realized I was buying my toilet paper at Safeway (hello, capitalism), and so I fully acknowledged I was an idiot, and went back to dear, sweet Target. Be careful in this place - it's strategically organized to make you want to BUY EVERYTHING. But my partner and I come here to stock up on the household essentials - shampoo, deodorant, soap, that sort of exciting stuff. But everyone's been to Target, you know what they've got. So what pushes this Target to the head of the pack? It's two stories. Which I respect, because it's a more efficient use of space the even-more-sprawling box stores. But the coolest part? There is a separate escalator FOR YOUR CART. Instead of waiting for an elevator to take you and your cart upstairs, you just push your cart onto its own cart escalator, and then hop on the human escalator. The cart escalator is slightly slower, so you have time to push on your cart, hop on the human escalator and then hop off on the top, and be there in time to receive your cart coming off of its escalator. Growing up in Daly City, Target was always just a few minutes away. I realized that I took that for granted when I moved to the East Bay. Now I either have to drive to San Leandro (no thanks), Walnut Creek or Albany to do my Target shopping. While I visit the Walnut Creek store when I'm in the area visiting family, the Albany store is my default. What more is there to say? It's Target, it's awesome and it's better than (evil) Wal-Mart. The Albany store is always clean, never too busy and plenty of parking. I love that it's two floors, and all the toiletries, food, cleaning stuff, etc is on the first floor so you can be in and out if you just need the necessities like TP, paper towels, soap, vitamins, etc. And they have a Starbucks inside, which is always good for that afternoon pick me up while doing some shopping. read more

Love this Target! Staff is friendly and helpful, service is fast. Great selection of things, great prices. Pretty clean, and things are accessible and easy to find. If not someone is always there to help. Love everything about this target, so hard to walk in and not come out with hands full of things I did not go in for originally :) Parking can sometimes suck it if is very busy, but cashiers pick up the slack in fast and efficient service. Starbucks and food court people are nice as well. read more

Despite being physically near many times, I hadn't actually been aware of this Target's existence until quite recently, and even then it's not somewhere I've chosen to go, even though it's not really out of the way for me. Well, I chose to go on Sunday instead of risking life and limb at the Emeryville location, and I was pleasantly suprised. Whilst I'm a fan of Target, I'm less inclinded to buy cheap stuff that's on offer these days. Still, versus the Emeryville location, there were no weirdos, and it doesn't have the confusing backwards layout. Now, don't get me wrong - Berkeley is known for its weirdos, but they're of a different stripe, and their hippy leanings would have them avoid such a store, and they weren't in evidence. There's also a good garden store next door, definitely worth a look in. Probably my new Target of choice, if I had to choose between Walnut Creek, Alameda, Emeryville and Berkeley. read more

Staff & LP is very racist and has an issue with racial profiling. As a woman of color I already face a lot of prejudice, but the people who work here took that to an extreme. From the moment my sister and I walked in, we noticed the same faces walking behind and around us, and following us upstairs and downstairs. We went in the fitting room to try on the few items that i PURCHASED later, we walked out after trying them on and went straight to the self checkout. I noticed a group of these fucking losers having a staff meeting right the fuck behind me while I was checking out and they were staring, I thought it was because I looked ugly but it's really because they were planning on how to stop the two of us before we walked out the door. I needed assistance because their computer system was glitching, and I asked for help and the girl who worked there was SO rude, she didn't say a word and looked at me crazy. When we walked out, the LP stopped us and told my sister to open her bag and remove the merchandise, WHICH SHE DID NOT TAKE, and if they had took time to review the cameras and check the fitting rooms, they would find that she put back the shirts and left a few items in the room. But we were being profiled from the moment we stepped in. Racism isn't cute, especially when it's from other people of color, pointing out that ALL of the staff that was treating us that way was some sort of Hispanic. Walmart has better customer service. read more

A woman was treated rudely by a Manager today, and she waited patiently to the side by the entrance of the store to get her turn to speak her mind on the interaction. The Manager continuously blew her off, and when other Target employees attempted to assist, she made it clear she wanted to speak with him. A few minutes pass by, and she takes a peek at something within the entranceway, and the security swiftly comes out of a room and grabs her roughly by her shoulder stating that he needed her to come with him without letting her explain her situation, instead using force. I have never seen a woman or customer mistreated so poorly, let alone at a Target Establishment, I will not be returning because of this prejudice and horrendous display towards guests read more

It's a Target, so you know exactly what to expect. But, it's bigger, and better! Every time I come here it's for a couple specific things, and I always end up spending an hour and a half loitering through this entire two story behemoth, tossing things into my cart I didn't even know I needed. And yeah, the cart escalator. All my common sense tells me to not buy my perishables from a bargain department store, but hey, they're good for everything else that can be shipped in a non-refrigerated truck and doesn't have a 'sell by' date. read more

I had my doubts at first.. why have a HUGE target in Albany when there's the one in El Cerrito (near a BART station no less?) but we stopped in and they seemed to have everything and it was so nice & new & shiny! We found a lot of things that our local (Fullerton at the time) Target didn't have that we had to check out.. I still think the Albany Target is nicer than most Targets including the WeHo Target (which is our current local Target) but then.. how often do we get to the Bay Area to shop?? I usually love Target stores, and actually did previously enjoy shopping at this particular one, but all this changed within the past month! Due to their lousy displays, I purchased a 3-drawer clear cart (along with other items) under the impression that it was on sale. I find out otherwise after I pay with an American Express gift card / remaining balance on Visa credit card. The cashier had asked if I wanted the gift card back and I declined thinking that I had just used the entire balance. Realized later on that was a HUGE mistake. Well I immediately bring the item back to obtain a refund - no problem. Didn't realize at the time, however, that they put the credit back on the gift-card first! Well it was already closing time, so I call them the next day. They say 'no problem' and tell me to bring back the receipts for an adjustment when I have time. I stop by on the weekend and am told that they can't correct the "refund." Apparently they can't "void and cancel" if it's not the same day! They call the manager on duty over and he goes through the motions like he's actually trying to help. I call BS. Eventually he claims he can't do a thing and gives me the number to customer service. Now obviously irate, I call the number and am asked for my membership number. I'm like WTF, and so the guy (clearly outsourced) asks me for my social security number. "Why the HELL do you need my SSN?!" "{Thick Accent} It's so I can try to review your purchases to get you your refund." "My SSN is personal info! You don't need that to look up purchases!" "I'm sorry sir, may I have your address please." "HELL NO you can't have my address!" "Well sir, I'm not sure what I can do for you then." It pretty much goes on like that for 10-15 minutes when I realize, this number I had been given was for the freakin' Target credit card customer service line! I go back to the manager and tell him he gave me the wrong number and he proceeded to ignore me (Julio, you're a moron). Eventually I find the appropriate number on my own and get my issue resolved some weeks later. I really HATE this Target now - and especially the idiot girl who told me to come back in and the idiot manager Julio. The only reason that store gets 1 star at all is that there's this bangin' fine Asian girl working there. Now unless you can get her to slob my knob everytime I shop there, I ain't gonna be coming back. read more

Yeah, okay I shopped at Target! They had the toaster oven I wanted at a good discount, and they were up-to-date with the "in-store availability" on Target.com, unlike my local Best Buy. This store is kinda of hidden away and although there were plenty of cars and shoppers, I was able to get in and out in about ten minutes. It is very clean. The checkers were courteous and helpful. HUGE HUGE HUGE! This is like two levels of steel filled with greatness! I went here last night to get some housewares and necessities since I just moved and I literally spent an hour and a half in their. At one point I was like "I'm so tired of shopping" I like that this place is clean and the Target Team Members (yeah I know their correct titles) are way helpful. I was, however, a little disappointed, well shocked that it wasn't packed. I mean back home on a Thursday night, Target is full of people. Although, the lack of shoppers made for a more pleasant shopping experience. A Need to know for those who have never been here (I kinda got lost since I didn't have my directions): When exiting Gilman from the 580W, make a left onto East Shore Hwy which is the street right next to the freeway entrance. Yeah, OK, I'm a bit biased, being from the land of the cold air and 10,000 lakes and all. Yeah, this Target's a bit off of the beaten path, but that's so much the better. Great layout, easy to get in, out, and on your way. Two levels w/ the cart escalator is a real plus, kind of like the Target at Westfield/Oakridge Mall in San Ho, but without all the traffic and those punk ass mall rats. Great selection of cheap, thoughtfully designed home decor. Just wish they had a bigger automotive section (the one thing I go to Walmart for!) A Target is a Target is a Target. I'm not a fan of the 2-floor store layout, but I can deal with it. However, this post is related to the best pharmacy that I think I've ever been to. I used to use the Walnut Creek pharmacy, but that place is a total clusterfrack. The pharmacy team at the Albany store are quick, efficient, and let me know immediately (usually about within a half an hour of calling in a refill) if they have to order something that they don't have. If by chance they *do* screw up (usually in some small way), they are very helpful about finding a fix. Thanks for being an awesome pharmacy! read more

This Target is beautiful!! Inside and out!! Everything was arranged beautifully, the shelves are all stocked, neat and tidy. While I was shopping, about 5 different team members offered to help me find something. I've never had that happen at a Target, ever. They were so kind! This store is arranged beautifully, and they offer more than other stores. I live in the city, and I refuse to go to any other store now. I don't care if I have to drive across the bridge and pay the toll to come home. Just don't go during rush hour, that can ruin your day! :) read more

When I'm not at home or work, you can probably find me at the Albany Target. Target has really positioned themselves well over the years with quality items, services and continued evolution of the all in one super store. With the recent expansion of the new grocery department, I can now do a good amount of my grocery shopping here. I have had just a few instances with staff with great results. They were quick, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. So much so I would like to give a big thumbs up to the management. My first five star review for one of my favorite places to shop. read more

Much of the fresh meat sold at Target comes in packages of "modified atmosphere" that includes carbon monoxide gas to give it an artificial appearance of red fresh meat. Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that can cause death by carbon monoxide poisoning in high amounts. The carbon monoxide gas is absorbed by the meat and turns it a bright red color. The meat is labeled with the disclaimer "Color is not an accurate indicator of freshness. Refer to use or freeze by date." This means that if the meat spoils, it will still appear as bright red as the day that it was packaged. This could lead to accidental food poisoning since spoiled meat will look like red fresh meat. Meat treated with carbon monoxide in this manner has been banned in Canada, Japan, Singapore, and the European Union. Supermarkets such as Safeway and Lucky do not sell carbon monoxide treated meat. ANDY (the front manager on duty) - you ROCK! You always come to the rescue! Whether it's finding my credit card that I left behind or finding the price to something that wouldn't scan right - you ALWAYS give great customer service with a smile! I can always count on your enthusiasm to bring a smile to my face! A couple of other stand outs that I need to mention are the other manager (I can't remember his name - bald/shaved head with glasses) and Christian! You guys ROCK! Sorry, I go there every now and then but last time I was really anoyed. I went on Jan 22nd and got some stuff including a bottle of naked juice. At home I wanted to open it and realized it was outdated. Not a day or two. But since Dec 28th! That is 4 weeks guys. I went in fury and they gave me the money back. I think they should have offered a little more, considering I had to go there twice that day. I went to the shelf to get a new (fresh) bottle and saw another one with the Dec 28th date. Arggg. I like shopping at Target but this specific store is horribly managed! Every single time I go there 25% of my list is missing. Every single time. Whether it's the right diaper size, the tea brand I always buy, or the deodorant I use. Products are not only missing on a regular base, it also takes them forever to restock, so if I come back the following week it will so be missing. Terrible shopping experience. read more

I'm a fan of this Target-- not the greatest but certainaly not the worst I've been in. This Target has a huge downfall-- it's always packed and the parking lot sucks. It's set up like most other Targets, this one is a mirror image of the Target in Sherman Oaks, CA. I've found people to help me when I need it. The Killian's Irish Red is always within the freshness date and they are usually stocked on the sale items. I knocked off the star just because I usually park in the front side parking lot and walk to the store. I guess I shouldn't knock off a star for that, as it's nice to walk, but still, they should have build a parking garage. read more

One of my favorite places to go when I'm visiting Cal in Oakland. It's a great place to study because there's a lot of clean tables in the Starbucks area. It's a great place to burn some calories because it's pretty big and you can walk around for hours. It's a great place to shop because it seems to have everything in stock. Parking can be a pain, depending on the time of day. But I'll let you in a little secret . Park along the right side of the store. There seems to always be an open spot and it's better than walking from the main parking area. read more

It was so shiny and new and upscale and well-stocked, I almost forgot I was in Target. They had lots of pretty outdoor/garden stuff, but not the basics I needed. I somehow managed to leave with a cart full of stuff I apparently *did* need, though. read more

Target is definitely a guilty pleasure and I can never get out under $50. At least, in the bad-employer spectrum, it's worlds better the Wal-mart, so i feel slightly better about spending money there. And I like that most locations are well maintained, clean and well-lit, always a feel-good. read more
