Had to go in a second time to try to make a return inside the Starbucks because the counter closed early last week. Barista tells me she doesn't know how to do it and that I should come back. Because it was my second time I did not want to come back AGAIN and I was really frustrated - especially since the line was long and I knew I was turning into a problem customer. So kudos and praise to the folks at the Starbucks who got the manager (Dave) to come over and figure out how to process a return. Very grateful to not have to return a third time. WHY ARE PEOPLE ALWAYS ON THEIR PHONES HERE? I love Target. I used to work at Target. Target is my favorite place. But this location has not only given me expired food but the people that work here are always on their phones. As I checked out at the food court last night, the guy pulled his phone OUT and starts skimming through whatever, as he waited for my transaction to go through. Once through, I waited for him to say something. I said "Thank you" and he said "Have a good one while walking away. It wasn't until I reached over to grab my food that he finally realized he forgot to hand me my food and ran back but it was already too late. It was honestly just rude. Every time I come here, the people at the self check out are always on their phones and now the people at the food court. Is it that important that you can't interact with me for 5 seconds while your computers wait to process my card? read more

Something incredible happened here yesterday. I left the store with exactly what I went here for. I KNOW!!! Normally, I leave with a cart full of items I have no need for. That is the beauty of Target. I need not go on about it. It's Target. I like this location better than some others I have been too. I bought a pie here once for $.89. It was an Archer Farms baked pie, and it was in the bakery area. At first I thought, "This price must be a mistake. Heh heh. I'm gonna buy this pie just so I can stick it to The Man!!" But actually, the price was correct. And the pie? De-lish!! But it's not all about the cheap pies at Super Target. Oh no, my friends. It's about the fact that every time I've been to this location it has been clean, well-stocked, and has never felt crowded despite the packed parking lot. I would marry this Super Target if I could. Have you ever seen "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo"? This place reminds me of that show which I had the extreme privilege of viewing a few weeks ago. It was THAT GOOD. I highly recommend it if you feel like being embarrassed for living in the United States. I was here twice yesterday and interacted with many of their employees. Most conversations went "do you have more iPhone 4 cases somewhere besides this tiny rack" or "where are the graham crackers" which were followed by helpful responses like "in the toy department" or "check the cheese isle". If you enjoy a challenging game of hide and seek with items on your shopping list, see Target. All in all, I enjoying buying my beer, iPhone case, lettuce, s'mores gear and monopoly in one place. I particularly enjoyed the spirited conversation with the lady behind the checkout while she recalled her "younger days" and "oh, the drinking games we played"! Everyone knows that we women love Target. And because this location is a SuperTarget, there's that much more to love - produce, a deli and extra grocery aisles. I've found everything from Belgian Liège waffles in the frozen section to select freshly-sliced deli meats available on markdown simply because they pre-slice around lunch time to avoid backing up. Their overzealous slicing is your gain! I think the reason I enjoy rummaging about Target so very much is that it's truly one-stop shopping. I've purchased sparkly-studded flats here to dress up outfits when I'm not looking to tower in heels. I've bought swimsuit cover-ups, fedora hats, gauzy scarves and inexpensive throwaway-chic sunglasses. I've outfitted several apartments (Boston, San Diego, Chicago and now Austin) with everything from bath towels to memory foam mattress toppers (I like it extra-cushy). Leather ottoman with storage for my DVDs? Yep, picked up one of those here which works well under a wall-mounted TV (just set your DVD player and cable box on top of it!). And you know those breakfast-in-bed trays that probably only actors use on the sets of soap operas? Well, um... okay, I bought one of those, too. This store is cleanly laid-out and never crowed. The employees have always been helpful and ready to assist when I need help finding something random ('do you guys sell golden raisins?') and parking is plentiful. As far as Targets go, it doesn't get any better (and believe me, I've experienced my fair share). It's clear that Target gets a nice chunk of my money. A little SuperTarget story for you, Yelp: On a recent Sunday morning, I ran over to Target to get a few items, . Because my Yankee mind cannot yet get over the fact that there are still places in the world who won't sell beer until after noon, I didn't bother to check whether it was past the magic beer-selling hour and blithely, nay, innocently, threw a six-pack of Lone Star into my cart. Once done shopping, I happily unloaded my goods onto the conveyor belt of cashier station. The middle-aged clerk was scanning along like a good little Red/Khaki robot when suddenly she stopped cold, staring as if she'd seem something distasteful Was it the five boxes of tampons? (What? I like to stock up.) No, it was the beer. Looking disdainfully at my six-pack, she said, "Oh. Is it past noon ALREADY?" I answered that I didn't know but if it wasn't, no big deal. The clerk then made a grand display of checking her watch. "It's 12:11. I guess the state figures most people aren't out drinking early on the Sabbath." The Sabbath?! What the... Now I was mildly irked but I said nothing until she asked me if I wanted the beer in a bag. I looked right at her and said, "No thanks, I'm going to drink it on the drive home." She was not amused, but I was, and that's all the matters in my self-centered world. My general feeling about this particular store is...meh. The presence of the grocery section, while handy, cuts into the cheap women's clothing section which is the only real reason I ever go to Target. Also, the store is a tad dirty and not as well stocked as other Austin Targets. One happy discovery was their optical center, which offers a surprisingly good selection of cute, chic frames at a bargain. I got two pairs of glasses for under $300. (Suck on that, Lenscrafters. I don't mind waiting a day or two for my specs if it saves me almost $400 over your inflated prices.) I'm giving this store 3 stars only because of the entertaining cashier and cute glasses. C 23. That's why I love this Target. All Targets are Targets. They're sickly wonderful and fun and, well, if it's Super, it's super!! Like cookies and lawn stuff and that perfect bookshelf and cereal and birthday cards and slow cookers and rugs all in one place. Here's when I decided I loved this one. Me, to woman working in lightbulbs or something: Do you know where I can find ironing board covers? Nice woman, who was scanning stuff: Yeah (thinks to herself), on the other side of that furniture, on aisle ... pause... C 23. Me, dumbfounded that she probably had the whole store memorized: Wow. Okay, thanks. So, there they were. Just as she had said C 23. Now I kinda wish I had gone back to test her on other random things. No bother. I was there three times in one day during a end shelf fiasco. I'm sure I'll be back. Other positives: Returns were easy. Super nice workers who helped cram many, many things in my car (including a rug!). Really cold Coke Zeros from the fridges in front. It's less than 3 miles from my house. read more

First of all, I am still suprised in a town the size of Austin, there are only TWO SuperTargets, unless you want to go to the outlying towns. (At least that's what their website has listed, and I think the Lakeline location is closer to Cedar Park) This week there were some grocery items on sale I wanted to pick up, so I swung by this location. I parked on the grocery end of the store parking lot, since grocery stuff was all I planned to grab. One of the items they were out of, even though the sale had started only the day before. (I could understand if this been on Fri. or Sat. right before the sale ends) I asked an employee if they could check in the back if there was any more that just hadn't been put out yet. There wasn't. There were four other people waiting for the same item. We were told if we wanted to drive another 20 minutes to either North Austin, or Kyle, they MIGHT have the item in stock, or to come back later in the week when another shipment came in. The employee also mentioned they always run out of the sale grocery items, they never ordered enough. Sure!! I have nothing better to do with my time then to drive all over Austin, or come back another day, b/c this Target consistently (by their own admission) doesn't order enough items to keep in stock during the sales. I head for the checkout for the few other things I'd picked up, only to see out of the 20+ checkout lines this place has, a whopping THREE of them were open, all by the opposite entrance! They have two entrances and so many lanes why??? I asked for a raincheck on the item that was out of stock, only to be told rainchecks weren't issued on grocery items. This Super Target is as good as it gets. Here is what it stands for: Target Always Rocks Get Everything There I LOVE THE DOLLAR section....the store was decorated for Christmas today and the dollar aisle did not disappoint with cool Christmas cards, wrapping paper....I had a nerd-gasm....that section made me jingle all the way! :) I love the Archer farm brand! Fantastic! The pharmacy is great, the staff, so nice! I got a slew of cool coupons for the revised Target brand, now called "Up & Up" (with the arrow symbols on everything). I was slightly bummed today because they were out of regular iceberg lettuce (it was all organic, thus triple the price) and the tomatoes were kind of expensive, but everything I get there always turns out nicely in the big picture, so bummage is gone. I love to be surprised by the end caps with clearance items. Things move fast in this Target so if you like something you better grab it! I love that there is a Starbucks in here, and that they recycle the coffee and put it in free bags that you can plant in your gardens, etc. Target gives back to the community, which I love, even more! The store label makes great Downy-like products for a fraction of the price. The accessories department is miraculous. Home cleaning products are frequently so much cheaper here than the competition. Thank you, Target, for being in such a great part of South Austin, and for releasing me from the death grip of Wal-Mart (I am NOT a WM fan). I went here today specifically for the optical center and was so disappointed because they were closed during there regular business hours. I saw some cool looking glasses through the windows; so, I did some grocery shopping while waiting for them to open since a cashier said they were probably on a break. 20 minutes later they are still closed so I walked across the parking lot to Austin Java and got something to eat - 30 minutes later they are still closed. I understand if there is only 1 person on staff and they have to take a restroom break; but, to be closed for an hour during posted business seems odd. Since, I liked what I could see through the window and gates I will try again after calling to make sure they are open. As far as the store itself goes I would give it 5 stars because I could buy a new MP3 player and did not have to make a second stop for groceries - but that was not what I walked in for and I spent 119.99 over what I needed ... read more

I really love this store. I like that their selection is better, the clientele more upscale and cleaner, and the products just give a sense of abundance as opposed to Wal Mart and it's constantly backed up lines and lower socio-economic demographic. Sometimes I'll go in for groceries and walk out with $800 of home goods and food. I don't even care! I feel that good about my purchases here. read more

So my friend and I went shopping here on New Year's Eve '09. We were obnoxious, loud, crated messes, and just laughed our butts off and guess what......they didn't say anything. So yeah four stars for managing to put up with us. Clean store, organized, pretty much in stock for the most part. Went in for my bi-weekly stock up on all of the usual items: diapers, wipes, milk, beer, wine and all of the items on sale that I pass along the way that I just can't walk by without throwing them in my basket. The bill, never less than a hundy, which I'm fine with because I can measure the savings but this review is not about the merchandise, it's about the customer service. This time, above and beyond! I pride myself in being one of those people in line at the checkout with a toddler who can multitask and have payment and ID out and ready to go. This time, I am not. I can't find my debit card! I just used it at Starbucks, I'm starting to panic. The line is backing up. ALL of the lanes are backing up, and all of a sudden I am that irritating person holding it all up. The woman checking me out is calm and reassuring saying things like: "not to worry, it happens to everybody, take your time..." She encourages me to step aside and take my time looking and making phone calls to the last places that I used my card while she checks other people out. Finally, I find my card and the manager takes me over to a lane not being used to ring my order while simultaneously asking for assistance to other lanes to help with the volume. He was friendly and efficient. These people made me feel at ease in an otherwise hectic situation. I love my local Target! read more

When I need to shop for everyday items this is where I go, I don't go for clothing and don't really do heavy grocery shopping here either. But for home & office and other housewares I go here, they have good quality and a good selection, the kitchenware is above par and it's a great place to buy small appliances and vacuum cleaners. If you buy things on sale the price difference isn't very noticeable from other big named department stores. Any time I ever have to go to other big named department stores I dread it, they're almost always crowded and usually dirty and I end up with something very cheaply made that I'll be throwing away sooner than later. Target has much higher quality items and fresher produce, albeit the food is a bit pricey but it's worth it for the cleanliness of the store and the organization of the merchandise. I still prefer HEB for produce but Target is a good compliment if you are near both. read more

If I want to wait in line an extended account of time I can go to Wal-Mart. Today.....line of people...One lane open. While the folks that work there usually will open additional lanes once a long line starts it shouldn't have to get to that point. I shop at Target instead of Wal-Mart for the better experience. All I'm saying is if you buy groceries or any food item make sure to check the expiration dates! They are notorious for having expired food on their shelves. Ive been burned more than a few times when I was in a rush or just forgot to check. Also in general their shelves are barren or unkept. Usually not very busy, understandably. read more

As folks have mentioned, this is actually a Super Target. Now, that being said, their produce is SHITE, so unless your desperate or picking up frozen and other goods, you probably do not want to shop here. Sometimes I kid myself and I come here, for, like, tomatoes,and I always regret it. Otherwise, it's a pretty well-stocked Target. The shoe section is awful, but the women's wear is pretty good, as far as Target locations go. Parking lot is nuts. read more

The only reason I go to this Super Target is because it's close to my house. There is never rotisserie chickens made when I come in no matter what time it is. Tonight during after work dinner rush, of course there were no chickens at 5:30-then there was no one working there. I waited 20 min, has to call the store to see if they could find someone, then has to ask a store employee to find someone only to find out the actual deli employee was on her hour break and did not even make chickens let alone put any in the oven. This makes no sense to me at all. Isn't this when you think you'd sell the most chicken meals? The produce always has rotting vegetables, especially cucumbers. Tonight the yogurt I looked at expired on December 5th. Half the stock is missing most days. It's just super frustrating. Every time I have come for simple consistent items they have always had none of these items. I've read other reviews stating the same issues but it doesn't seem to matter to management or Target I guess. I love Target and will continue to unfortunately shop at this location out of sheer "proximity" not convenience - since I end up having to go elsewhere for some items anyways. What a difference just in the store locations in Austin. Barely experienced any issues with the South Mopac location. read more

Disappointed to say that this SUPER target literally had NOTHING for Mother's Day other than the regular every day flowers... they had a full section of just 5 de Mayo stuff but nothing for Mother's Day?? I used to come here to do my shopping since I became a mother and this is an absolutely disappointment. This is a pretty darn good target. The only thing that's going to make a target suck, or good is a couple things. 1. Is it clean 2. Are the lines gonna make me wish I was at Disney Land 1. Very and 2. Never, for more reason than one. There is always parking at the front of the store, and they're open pretty late, best check the time yourself tho, cause I'm not gonna be responsible for ruining your night. Also, there is pretty much everything else in south park meadows that you would need, so go to Target, and then go to the rest of the 389 places to spend your money... then call it, well, a day... or something. read more

Probably my favorite grocery store in Far South Austin. Yeah, it's a tad more expensive than HEB, but damn! It's just sooo nice and clean that it's worth it. I LOVE Target but the Starbucks in this store is the worst. The lady who works in there is slow and rude. I place my order for Passion tea lemonade and she immediately barks "we are out of that, we have white tea". Okay so change my order to Peach Citrus white tea and her response, "you can have pineapple, if you want". Seriously? If I wanted pineapple I would have ordered that. I understand being out of things but have some customer service skills and if you're working at Starbucks how about making sure you have more that one tea ready.
