I have a love/hate relationship with Target. I could go in for 2 items, come out with 12, and when I get home realize I forgot the 2 I originally went in for. I don't know what happens to me when I go in there, but I get so sidetracked...haha. I love the fact that they have a Starbucks in Target since I'm usually in there for awhile I like to start with a little "boost" :) Oh, and the monster cookies the little cafe sells are friggin delish.. They have oatmeal in them so they can't be too unhealthy;), right? Also, every single employee I've come across has been awesome, they have their customer service skills down pat..I love good customer service! DO NOT SHOP HERE!! Employees are Credit Card thieves!!! I had my Target Check Card Info swiped here AGAIN!!!! I had my Target Credit Card info swiped and used immediately after I checked out to the tune of $200 and my Target Check Card which is to my bank account used for another $250 about 3 years ago. I got my money back and the $$ credited back to my Target charge account, but you can only imagine the hassle of going thru disputes with the bank & Target and closing and reopening my accounts with both. Naively, I thought surely that was a one-time thing and the store must have investigated to be sure they weren't having this same issue with their employees, especially after the whole "Target got hacked" mess earlier this year. Low and behold I was wrong. On Friday night I shopped at Target Encinitas right before closing and used my Target debit card for my purchase of $21.91. Today, when I checked my bank, there are 2 charges from Target Encinitas - the one for the $21.91 and another for $36.14. It seems pretty obvious that somehow my card information was stolen, used and because the thief only charged a small amount, thought that it would not be noticed. When I called the Encinitas Target store today to let them know of the situation, I was told to talk to my bank & they would give me my $$ back - I had already filed a dispute with my bank online - and that their stores card readers were incapable of storing any information. Showed no concern whatsoever that they might have dishonest, thieving employees nor that I am now going to have to close & open my accounts again. I believe this is the straw that broke the camels back - no more shopping at Target Encinitas. read more

Man, I love Target, but these people really ticked me off here. It was closing time, I had an overflowing cart of hundreds of dollars of stuff. I couldn't find an item and asked the lady at the checkout about it. She called over the front end supervisor (I think that's who it was), who told me where it was. I asked her if someone could grab it for me (there were many customers in line behind me), and she refused because they were closing, and I'd have to come back tomorrow. Argh! Ordering at the Target Starbucks should not take long. Yet, I was standing at the cash register right in front of the employee for a long period of time. He asked what I wanted, but didn't listen at all to anything I had to say. While I tried to order, he instead started talking to Target co-workers regarding things non-relevant to work. For a period of time, he and his co-workers forgot that I and the people lining up behind me existed, and that no-where near his talk was my order that I could make in less than 5 seconds. The target store itself is fine just a bit more cluttered in my opinion than other targets. the Starbucks inside however, I have never been to a slower Starbucks. With 3 employees working and only 2 customers in front of me i never imagined it would take 20 minutes for me to simply buy a reusable cup and a wrap. read more

This Target is huge... and right across the street from my house, and since I can't live without Target, I have no choice but to shop here. All the time. The selection is good from everything from clothes to cleaning supplies to dog treats (new organic ones, too), and prices are always reasonable. Here are my two gripes: 1) The staff is pretty darn slow at the check-out stand, and the rest of the members aren't very helpful. They seem to like to stand in your way in the aisles and just give you a dirty look if you try to get around them to pick up something. But really that's usually the same older guy, and he kind of creeps me out. 2) They area always out of stuff. I guess it's just too popular to keep items stocked, but I usually have to leave without 1-3 items on my list. Overall, though, this is an alright Target. The clothing options are cute, the parking is plentiful, and I mostly can get what I want each week. read more

I usually love this Target- it is clean, they have great selection and staff. However, I recently purchased a shirt about a week ago which I found out went on clearance. I didn't have the shirt with me, figured they would be able to search on my Red Card and do a price adjustment. They told me I would have to go back home, bring my old shirt and receipt, return it and then I would have to go buy the new shirt which just had gone on clearance. No price adjustment. For someone that is busy, just had the day off, that is tiresome and a hassle. THAT has to change, or something has to change. Target has missed the target on customer service on this one. One of the huger Targets I've been in, and unlike Wal-Mart, the quality doesn't suffer from that fact. The selection of, well, everything here is pretty top-notch, and the quality of products is pretty unrivaled for a discount superstore type shop. I really wouldn't hesitate to buy any clothes from Target, and on some occasions I've considered buying some of their underwear, as it is not only affordable, but look to last a long time. The best thing about moving to north county is that... I happen to live a short 3 miles away from this Target. I guess it could also be a bad thing since... I find myself going there up to 4 times a week! (not every week... I swear...) This Target is big, well-lit, clean, and organized. And they also sell groceries! I find that it's cheaper to buy a lot of baking supplies from Target vs. going to a regular super market. And it's convenient as well since I no longer have to make two trips for home supplies and groceries. OH, and they also have a Starbucks inside! My type of heaven... Target + Starbucks = LOVE! Best thing about this Target? Open till 11pm Monday through Saturdays and till 10pm on Sundays! It's been rough for me adjusting to how early everything closes in north county since moving here. Nothing seems to be open past 9pm... Alas! Target to the rescue!! :) Only downside of this location is probably how busy it gets on the weekends (but I'm guessing most Targets are busy on weekends). And there are also a few cashiers that take their dandy time checking you out... but I guess you can't have it all. read more

The biggest problem with this store is getting ambushed by the very rude and in your face lesbians as you leave. I notice they were also asking for money and this seems to be their job; to raise money this way so they don't have to work and can therefore protest for their cause. Or to put it another way, they are using an emotive cause as a tool to get money out of people so they don't have to work. I didn't think Target wants any group harassing its customers and did a bit of research as to why they allow it. Apparently they have no choice, despite trying to take legal action against the group. The lesbians have decided this makes Target anti-gay from what I can see. I doubt Target, like the majority of its shoppers, have strong feelings either way. I suspect Target's number one objective is to make money and I imagine most shoppers just want to be able to get in and out of there without being bothered by aggressive activists supporting one cause or another or just plain begging under the cover of an emotive cause. Either way I don't care, and just want to be left alone. I won't be bullied into not shopping here though. read more

I Love Target but the Greatland is a bit bigger and I like it allot better! I can spend hour's in this store just browsing for the great deals! Tonight I actually went in for 3 items and walked out with only those three things, can we say AMAZING!! This store is clean and pretty organized for being such a huge store! One thing I love about all Target's is they always a clearance going on, you just have to search for the tags through the isle's. Tonight I found great sales on hair dye for only $2.38 and it was Garnier. That shit is usually an easy $8 buck's at regular price. Most of the popular colors were gone but I passed on the purchase being that I didn't want to buy on impulse just for the great deal, so I walked away and fast!! I did leave there craving popcorn. Target always smells so good, that buttery melt in your mouth deliciousness floats through the air and somehow makes its way to my taste buds and makes me crave it oh so bad!! Too bad I'm watching what I eat so I left there craving a snack!! I would definitely return to this Target again even though its so far from my house. I've been going to this Target for 3 years now and haven't thought once about giving it a review...until today. Today was like any other but I was in a hurry so I grabbed my tiny little wallet from my purse and ran inside. Not thinking twice, I put the little wallet in my jacket pocket and b-lined straight for what I came for - zip lock bags (exciting I know). After picking up a few other items and heading for the check-out (in under 5 minutes) I went to pay and alas - NO WALLET! Ugh. I retraced my steps before heading to customer service, nothing. Here is why I am writing this review: after leaving my name, number and description of my lost wallet with customer service (they said they would call if found), I went around the store again in search for my wallet. Along the way, an employee asked if I needed help and I told him what had happened. I kept searching, not knowing that 3 other employees had joined in on the search. On my way out, I decided to check in with customer service one last time before leaving. While waiting in line for the next representative, two of the employees came up with none other than MY WALLET! They had been looking and found my wallet hidden (or rather blending) with the carpet near a rack. Thanks guys, you really saved me from the headache of canceling cards and standing in line at the DMV for hours! In closing, great customer service, helpful employees (that genuinely care) and clean facility. My only complaint (and the reason the 5th star is missing) would be that every time I show up, there's always a long line - never enough cashiers. read more

I don't have too many negative things to say about Target. This particular store is always crazy busy. I can't think of a time that I have been here where you aren't dodging people or carts in just about every isle. This is where the star gets taken away even though it's not necessarily their fault they are so popular. Good values on most products and there are plenty of apps on your smart phone to help out with coupons. I would suggest cartwheel for target. That app has a bar code the cashier can scan and your savings are a least 5% on a lot of items including some of the target brand up & up. read more

I am a regular shopper, after today, ashamed to be from MN where this company is based. At the checkout after having to "press" as to why something "clearly" placed in a sale category was not being offered at the sale price. Some sort of "tag" labeling system we are not familiar with. Then between the staff a ridiculing smirk and chuckle directed at my wife and I. But wait it gets better, I state to the checkout woman that is not very professional or for that matter polite to have these types of exchanges. She asked if I want to talk to someone and I said I am "you" and she calls a manager who we explain the childish / unprofessional behavior who in turn offers a less than sincere canned apology package where she offers $3.00 cash for the bad experience and ushers us onward. I love Target. I can't get out of here without spending at LEAST $75. They just redid this store, and it's cool cuz now they have a pseudo market inside. Now I don't have to take an extra trip to the grocery store to pick up some essentials. I am not used to the new layout yet, but considering the frequency in which I visit this store, it is only a matter of time until I am a seasoned Target pro again. There is now a Starbucks inside, which is fun! And they even have cart clips available to use as a cupholder. There is one cashier, who I have been unfortunate enough to have 3-4 times. Her name is Meg. She is a mousy, older lady who has no business being behind the cash register. Avoid her like the plague. When she speaks....you got it....quiet as a mouse. I can't even understand what she is saying and have to ask her to repeat herself over and over. My receipt got mangled in her register and as she herself got tangled up in it, she finally freed it from the beastly machine and handed it to me with pride. Hope I don't need to return anything with this receipt. She is not efficient, and not friendly. But thanks to Target for Affirmative Action and employing the "unemployable." read more

Welcome to Target! Said no employee ever. This location is fairly big and has one of the bigger parking lots than others which is a nice perk. Shelves are stocked, facility is clean and check out is relatively fast. Customer service is pretty much absent unless asked for. A quality Target really needs to work on. Other than that, same old thing, a lot of products for great deals. Foot traffic here is not as crazy as other locations either. Overall, Target is always a great place to shop. I LOVE this Target. I'm not even ashamed to say that I make it there on average 4-5 times a week. It's so much cheaper than Vons to buy your groceries from and they have just about everything you could need. My favorite part of this Target is the pharmacy. Everyone that works at the pharmacy is ridiculously friendly in the most sincere way, and they are always willing to offer help and answers to your questions. As a chain, Target is the place I do most of my day to day shopping. Their long time focus on design has made them a place I feel confident I can go to find most things I might want at a reasonable price. The location in Encinitas may be my all time favorite. A Target store is a Target store but this location just feels better. The staff and clientele give off a slightly more positive feeling. And I don't mind it, I'm just not a crowd person and sometimes parking is frustrating. I normally wouldn't write a review for one either, since everyone knows what it is and knows what they're getting into, generally! But my experience at this one was just frustrating. Hey, Target. When a customer purposely checks your website 15 minutes before arriving at your store to make sure an item is in stock, maybe it should actually be in stock. I triple checked the website for a travel adapter I needed for a trip. There are 3 levels of availability: In stock, limited availability, and not in stock. The Encinitas store did not even say "limited availability". It said "In stock". Clear as day. ...Noooope. I was told by the employee simply, "yeah, sometimes the website is wrong". No apologies, nothing. He offered to have it ordered, but I was leaving for abroad the next day. A frustrating day at Target and I do hope they monitor their website a bit better. read more

Came here to pick up some hair dye and ended up buying some makeup as well xD This is one of the cleaner targets I've been to.. but then again most targets are generally clean.. at least the ones I've been to. Whenever I go, they seem to be well stocked compared to the walmart across the way. These days i check online to make sure the item i want is in stock so i dont drive back and forth for no reason. I'm not a local in this part of town. I normally would visit this Target location if I have to go to the Buy Buy Baby next door. Last night, I had to make a few exchanges at the store next door. I also needed to exchange out a few items that were given to me from my baby registry. I went to customer service for assistance and the lady was very helpful. When I finished my transaction, I continued to do a little shopping. I was able to find a few items I needed and when I got to the registers, the cashier was very polite. This Target location has great customer service and I definitely would come back to this store if I was in the area in the future. read more
