This Target has a poor selection of everything but food. They recently expanded the food section - much more variety and fresh groceries, which is fine. But they didn't expand the store, they just took away from everything else to make room for the food. If all Targets have taken away the selection they used to, then shopping at Target won't be fun anymore...the more there is to peruse through, the better. There's barely anything to peruse here, at least for a Target. Also, Donald P. isn't entirely correct - you do need a ticket to get in, but you don't have to purchase anything to get out for free, you just have to leave within two hours of parking there. Needless to say I was flabbergasted when after 2 1/2 hours in the store spending over $100 in gift cards and items, 2 drinks at Starbucks and we come out with a $25 parking bill. I don't like this Target. The staff is not helpful. I've been in several times in need of assistance and not able to get it. The managers are always in a hurry and seem over worked. I loved Target until I moved to the area and it was the only place to go and I've been disappointed ever since. *sad face*... Parking sucks, Staff is busy-not helpful. Many items have been out of stock with my recent visits. Products are displayed with incorrect price tags in front of them (don't even try to decode the vacuum cleaner isle, among others) it's a guessing game to which price tag correlates with each product - many products don't have a price tag at all, just hope there is a handy price scanner at the end of the isle. read more

As soon as you leave route 7 and approach the lot you will encounter a machine which requires you to press a screen to receive a parking ticket. The screen is not very sensitive and you may need to press it several times for it to yield a parking ticket. If hygiene is a concern you may be grossed out. Using a barrier like a glove or cloth was impossible for me due to the screens sensitivity and the difficulty of having other cars waiting behind me to get in. Its sort of like sharing your ipad with everyone who has been to Target on that particular day. Except if it was your ipad you might have a chance to clean it. read more

As Targets go, this one's great. Standard. Full of things you don't need until you see them and then you NEED to go home with them. The only thing I didn't like is the parking lot, but that's not totally their fault. Extremely rude staff. I had a question for one employee about where to find an item. The first employee I approached ignored me completely and the second employee spoke to me in quite the tone as if I was a massive inconvenience to their day. My list of disliking this target go on forever: -Parking is free in the lot, but you need to go through a toll-booth to get out and it gets all backed up with cars and backed up from the light. -This target is quite small compared to others in the area--go to the one on Rt 50 or Potomac Yard instead -Small sale areas, I hardly ever find good things with that lovely red sticker on it for sale -The pharmacists are REALLY sweet and helpful, remember me from visit to vist which makes it feel like a true neighborhood pharmacy, however the pharmacy area usually has a long line and the other customers are often rude cutting in front of each other and complaining while waiting on line -If there is any produce on sale, it is always gone quickly. -Poor cell service--not exactly their fault but it's another reason to go elsewhere to shop -Unruly children and apathetic families that don't care if their kids run around like feral animals (this could apply to all Targets but it's not as bad as the other area target locations) -People getting on the fast lines (10 items or less or whatever it is at target) when they have a ton of stuff in their cart Bottom line: if you need to make a shopping trip to target, go to the Rt 50 one or Potomac Yard one instead! read more

This is the worst target I have ever been to. I've come multiple times and disappointed I did every time. The customer service is awful and the store is organized very poorly. Today when I thought I'd give it one more shot, I moved my cart over to get it out of the way while looking at something and 2 minutes later, an employee took it away full of my stuff. This particular Target location is SO BAD it's almost amazing. They look for any reason not to honor perfectly valid coupons (ie sale item paired with store coupon and manufacture coupon) and this has happened on multiple occasions! I am giving it 1 star because the only thing you can consistently get from this location is AWFUL customer service. Ugh. I tried to get on the Target bandwagon years ago because I refuse to set foot in any other big box store of this nature. But I really just hate Target. This is my neighborhood Target and I now go only when absolutely necessary. Agree with Christen L. I despise having to stop and get a parking ticket. For what? No one even ever checks anything. It is just an extra few minutes wasted out of my day and some days, every minute counts. The store is frequently out of stock and has empty shelves. No matter what time of day or day of the week you go, you will encounter a line. Why have like 25 registers if you only ever have 4-5 open? Yet there always seems to be some managers milling about, just standing around watching the cashiers and basically doing nothing. Ugh, again. I often go to Target expecting to spend, say $75 and walk away having spent $200. How? Why? Target gets you like that. One day, however, I noticed that they actually charged me twice for a large bottle of laundry detergent. Now everyone knows that laundry soap can be the most expensive item on your grocery list. It was almost $20. So I call and explain and they say "no problem, just come back in" I figured I would just pick up another bottle, since I paid for it already. When I get to the store, to the disorganized chaos that is Customer Service, the woman working there grabs my receipt, looks at me suspiciously and says that she needs to have someone review security footage to make sure that I wasn't trying to get a free laundry soap. Ok. I guess understandable? I waited around for 15-20 mins while they did this. The security guard comes back and says "she's right, she only got one" (he was very friendly) The woman then let me grab another bottle, all the while giving me a slightly nasty attitude, as if I was still pulling one over on them but she couldn't prove it and I left the store. I always get a slight feeling of dread every time I realize that I have to go to Target. And this location is just not good. read more

I love Target but every time I go to this location, I'm reminded about why I hate coming here. No matter what day or time I come, there are never any cashiers. I'm always left self-checking no matter how much stuff I have. When I ask them why there are no cashiers 8' always told that someone called in sick. They used to be great. There were always plenty of cashiers and there was always someone watching the line to make sure customers do not have long lines. Self checkout should be an option, not the only option! read more

I love target, I love all targets! I've lived in multiple states and been to more target stores then I can count. This one is... okay. They just went through a renovation recently and I thought it would elevate this target to a higher level once complete. But it's still just OK. The layout is better since renovating and the whole store makes a bit more sense now. But the upkeep is not so great there are always items, decorations, clothing out of place and not put away where they should be which to me says that the staff is not cleaning up after everybody enough. There is a Starbucks here which is good and I like. But there is no food here. I have needed to return things before and the customer service to return was very good no complaints and the experience to return was easy as it normally should be at a target. Even when returning something from online I could bring it into the store and there were no issues and it was easy. My three star review is because almost anytime I go I can see empty shelves where things should be or maybe they're working on things but not when I'm walking by. This is a great place to go when you're trying to get one of the limited edition signature collections. Because when the signature collections come out for whatever reason it's easier to get the items at this target which I really do like. The carts are almost always a bit dirty and also they do not have cupholders which would've been even nicer. I wish they would put in a baby/nursing room. And wish they had a bigger baby decor section. In summary if this target could get more organized and a little bit cleaner (especially the carts) I would bump up the review. Unfortunately for target of course I have very high standards because I love target so much and I have seen better. read more

This is actually one of the nicer Targets I've been to in a while - it has quite a stock of home goods, clothing, and even groceries that will satisfy whatever your needs are. I recommend going in offpeak hours though - it can turn into a mad house at the drop of a hat and you won't be able to get a box of nachos to save your life in their snackbar (muy importante, my friends). read more

I always watch my time when coming to this location since there is a charge for parking if you stay longer than 2 hours. At other locations I notice i usually spend up to 3 hours shopping, trying on clothes, finding makeup etc... Pros: This place has a little of everything, including hot pizza and a Starbucks stand. Always enough staff on staff to the checkout lines move quickly. Cons: Getting out of the parking lot anywhere between 4 and 5:00 and around lunch is a nightmare during the week since a lot of fed workers park in this lot and all rush out the door, and hence, parking all at once. You may spend ten minutes sitting in the lot waiting for your chance to get out. read more

This is my favorite target in the area. It is definitely a SuperTarget with everything you can imagine. The parking can sometimes be tricky because they must share a lot with a fitness center. Also the self checkout machines can be a nightmare so I recommend just going to a regular register. However the store was very clean and well organized and any when I ask for assistance was more than happy to help me. I visit this location occasionally and think it is a pretty good target. read more

This isn't the worst Target I've ever been to nor is it the best. I think the 3 star rating it currently has is pretty accurate. I think for woman's clothing they have a good selection. I also like that this Target is clean, but it is also pretty jammed packed full of stuff. I do think as a company Target is on the downward decline. read more

The better Target in Arlington/ Alexandria. Better stuff than the one on Rte 1; and not as busy as either Rte 1 or Seven Corners stores.

It looks dirty from the outside, but it's a pretty large, clean, and organized Target. I actually go to Target to food shop because I can't stand Giant or Safeway. They have a pretty good variety, but they can enhance the fruit and vegetable section. I know it's not a grocery store, but it's a much cleaner place than some of the grocery stores I have come across. Parking is a bit of a pain since you have to wait to get a ticket and parking is only free for the first 2 hours. The line to exit is really long. At least it's open parking in the evenings and weekends. I shop here because it is so close to my apt, but the Target in Potomac Yards seems much nicer. read more

2 managers i wont name were super rude helping us at self checkout on separate occasion. No greeting to us and yelling to eachother and over their walkie talkies in our faces the whole time. Then the female snapped at me for correcting her error on the self checkout screen. No eye contact was made by either employee the whole time nor any attempt at friendliness or service. Another worker stared me down the whole while i picked out my kotex pads, from the cleaning aisle adjacent. Needless to say, we spend way too much money at target on groceries and clothing to leave unimpressed and awkward. We'll be going elsewhere, everyone else can enjoy the terrible parking lot, lack of check out lanes open, the tyrant dressing room employee who cannot speak/hear/acknowledge you unless she's chosen to yell at you herself, and bothered busybody managers with no manners. We bought a super expensive samsung microwave. Got home and unpacked it, it contained a 'sunbeam' small white, severely used, microwave with a half a French bread pizza inside. They refunded our money with apologies but need to work on...checking returns regardless if they are appearing to be unopened or not. The manager, Juliana, apologetically explained this was a previous 'return fraud' result. I just feel like, having to open returns and mark them down a bit is more cost effective in the long run bc people will have faith in you when they buy a 'sealed' item. We returned it and went elsewhere, so they not only lost the initial $160 on the theft, but a second 160 on an honest purchase. We went to bed bath and beyond and bought a nicer oven at 30$ more even. But it was what was advertised inside. Furthermore, anything could have been inside that box. That's dangerous and not cool. A coworker of mine said the same thing happened to her w a vacuum from there. We will no longer go to target for boxed household items. That's a shame!! read more
