I'm a Target addict. Have been for years and its not changing anytime soon. This particular Tar-jay has been my "home" location for years, and although I don't currently live in Irvine, my office is right down the street! I'm really writing this review for the pharmacy though. Kari is one of the pharmacists there and she has consistently been helpful and super nice. The BFF is on a few daily meds, and she remembers both of us when we stop by. Plus I know I can always ask for her recommendations for cold meds, etc. It has a small town pharmacy feel in a large chain store. read more

This Target has horrible customer service that lies to its customers. We went in to purchase an item. We went to customer service and asked if they would price match a rain check slip that we had for the same item at K-Mart. The guy at the customer service desk said that it was no problem. Well there was a problem because this particular store did not have the item in stock. We then went to the Target in The District and went to customer service to see if the would price match the rain check. They said that their store policy was that they do not match rain checks. The customer service guy was really nice here and called this target and spoke to the customer service guy who said that they would honor the price match. He then said that we could buy it at the District Target and then take it back to the Irvine Target and return the item and then repurchase the item with the rain check price match. It was a little extra work but we figured that it would be worth the effort so we purchased the item. We then went back to this Target and to customer service. The guy we had talked to earlier and who the customer service guy from the District store spoke to played it off as if we never talked before and as if he didn't speak with the other stores representative. Updating my review based on my experience during FINALS WEEK (at UCI). So the girlfriend and I finally returned our broken light bulb which was evenly exchanged for another light bulb! It wasn't the same one but in fact I think it's an even better rated light bulb... NICE. But anyways, during this week I hit up Rite Aid, Albertsons, the other Rite Aid on Culver and wow they had some okay sales but TARGET had THE BEST SALES on chips and junk food. Prime time finals food if you ask me. I grabbed a couple of big bags of chips and cheese-its for cheap. All of these were priced lower than Rite Aid and Albertsons. Not to mention they had stuff in stock which was nice. Still crappy parking situation but just came right before they close and you can find a lot of spots. Don't bother in the noontime. P.S. I believe they changed their store hours to 10pm now which makes it even more appealing to come late at night. read more

Strolling down the asiles with a handful of items in my hands and a lovely young man came running up to me from behind with a basket in hand and said, "This will make your shopping easier." Went in for a baby gift on the registry. They did not have many if the items even though the registry said they were in stock. Bought two, but it only took one item off the registry. No one could correct the situation and an hour later I left the store. Tried calling and no one picked up the call- tried three departments to get to the store manager which I never did. I will officially cancel my Red Card and stop shopping at Target . My son received a Basketball 3 days ago for his Birthday. The item has a Target tag. Went to exchange for another Basketball. The item cost $14.95 but we were informed that since there was no receipt, Target would only give us $3.99. So disappointed with such a large Corporation for ripping people off. We spent enormous amount of money at Target each year for everything imaginable. We will no longer shop at Target from now on. I decided to donate my son Basketball to the goodwill instead of taking the $3.99 Target offered. In the end, I got my son son what he wanted out of my own pocket. read more

I've been going here for years since I first started undergrad in '03. Its always been relatively clean and easy to navigate. I've never had to really speak to any of the staff there other then simple questions of where to go for certain things. I have used their pharmacy once and they offered to contact another target and put an item at their other location on hold for me, which was nice, because i was sick and didn't really want to do anything else other then go home and rest. That being said, everything else is kept in relative good order. None of that nonsense you see in Walzmartz. Parking is easy. Actually, I prefer this one over a few other ones in the area because parking is a lot easier. Interior needs to be refreshed, I know they've been updating their food court area again but they should really get to work on everything else. read more

One of the worst smelling bathrooms I've had to use in a long time. Not bad smelling like someone just used it, but like it hasn't been maintained and you can smell whatever is in the pipes. Often people soliciting outside as well, although I suppose that can't be helped. Other than that it's your usual target. read more

I know it seems weird to leave a review for a chain, but I wanted to give credit/a shout out to one of the employees, Joslyn. I was buying a TON of school supplies for a charity event my work was organizing and had to stick under a certain budget; I had a full cart of backpacks, notebooks, pens, etc. I felt so bad because I felt like I was "that person" that had 100+ items and holding up the line. She was so sweet about everything and even suggested adding more items because I was under budget. She's a great employee and this location is lucky to have her! read more

I have been coming to this Target for over a decade, mostly for bathroom items that seem to be cheaper here than anywhere else, such as a brand of eyedrops, and a particular mouthwash I seem to have trouble finding in drugstores. Occasionally I will find a good deal on a DVD I want to buy, pick up a 99 cent card for someone I don't like that much, or an inexpensive children's toy. I never buy their food, clothing, or home items. It seems like there are much better places to shop for those sorts of things in the same city. Aside from that, it seems like you don't save much from buying here. There is a Wal-Mart a few miles away on Von Karman that has a larger selection of items at mostly lower prices. Target is also not really a step above Wal-Mart - their bathrooms are in worse condition and I always find myself mildly disgusted after using them. I really used to enjoy their See Spot Save section but they seem to have reduced it down to one small aisle. I will continue to shop at Target because of specific items they carry, but can they compete with Wal-Mart? Probably not. Is it a one stop shop? No, unless you have low standards. read more

I have shopped at this store since it opened. I have become increasingly disappointed. I've gotten past the practice of stocking the shelves during business hours. It is annoying that the stockers treat the customers like an inconvenience for getting in their way. I tell myself this practice is okay because at least they will get the product on the shelf...WRONG! I buy Smart Water and only find it on the shelf less than half the times I look for it. Today, I tried to buy an Amazon Kindle HD kids tablet that was advertised in this weeks flyer. The people in electronics were clueless. They cared more about what video games they had been playing! They did not know of the advertised item. Two employees tried to find it on their phones but could not find it and told me I was mistaken. I got a flyer from the front desk and the electronic department said they had none in stock and didn't know if any would be back in the store before Christmas. Also, they said it was unavailable to order on the internet. The front desk said it was not eligible for a rain check even though that was not stated in the flyer. I feel like this was a VERY POOR practice on Target's part. They basically LIED to get the customer into the store. This seems like a serious breech of trust. I don't know how many other people have had similar problems, but I will be searching out a new place to do the majority of my shopping. read more

My go-to target! I've been coming here for the last decade. I always avoid weekends, as that's when everyone is coming, duh. If I can't find what I'm looking for- I go somewhere else. No need to complain. Stores run out of stock all.the.time. It's not the end of the world. If I'm in a rush, I use self check out. If I have weekly supplies then I see a cashier. Cartwheel has allowed me to save over $400 this year. I received my target debit card and got a $40 off coupon! Target also will price match with Walmart & Amazon. I'm a happy camper. read more

This target is located in a convenient plaza and is clean most of the time except the clothing section. I love that they carry Siggi's Skyr here in their grocery yogurt aisle!! It's cheaper than Whole Foods. The staff are pretty friendly and checkout lines move pretty fast. Other than that it's just like any other target read more

If I ever need to buy anything, I usually stop at this Target on my way home from work. It's pretty conveniently located at Culver and Barranca with ample parking spaces. The store has always been well organized and very clean. There are many lines open for checkout and they even have self checkout lines at the farthest right if you only have a couple of items and want to do it yourself. read more

Love, love, love the $1 section in the front. It is always stocked, clean and crap isn't thrown everywhere. This Target seemed less busy than other Targe'ts in the area, but it isn't as big as most Target's. I like this Target, even though others may not. It's a lot easier to go to than the one at marketplace or spectrum. Secondly, they must have redone the lighting, as there's so much light now at 9pm, it forces my brain to stay awake. The aisles are clean, and the staff (at least the ones i run into), are very helpful. Had to run in and get detergent stuff, halfway thru laundry and nothing's worse than no clothes for tomorrow. This location is not a typical Target store, especially when it comes to customer service. I have had multiple occasions where the employees here are just not knowledgable about their corporate policies. It is as if the employees here are trained to be harsh/rude with customers so that you don't want to come back. These are some employees that you want to avoid if possible: Lisa, who is an LOD at this location, is very rude with customers. She raises her voice often and is not very helpful. Daniel, the AP, does not know his coupon policy. Maria is not very courteous and is always difficult. Michelle, as I've mentioned in my previous reviews, recently was hovering over a cashier as she was helping me with my transaction once she saw I was using coupons. Corporate should really help fix the mentality/culture of this location as it is a bad representation of what a Target store should be like. It is always interesting to me how the level of customer service at Target stores varies and is not consistent. read more

They carry quality products which I like and their prices are good especially considering your getting better quality goods. Major Cons: -there is always a line of like 20 people for every cashier. I know for a fact that there are countless high school/ college kids that would love to work here. Hire a couple more so that customers don't have to wait 20 minutes to buy a single deodorant. Seriously. I went here hoping to make a sma purchase and was getting ready to wait in line to pay until I noticed that the line for EVERY SINGLE cashier was 20 people long. Seriously. I noped out of there and left the store. Open a few more cashiers. I can literally buy all this stuff if I just walk to the other target conveniently located 5 minutes from you guys. And there's a Walmart next to that target. Do you realize what competition you are facing??? Man a few more cashiers if you want me to stay! Every time I come to this Target at least one item on my shopping list is out of stock or the selection is super picked over. A few months ago, I went to find slippers for my daughter, and there were only 3 pairs left, only one in a size that fit my daughter. 2 months ago, I was looking for white dish cloths. I went two times in the same week, and there were none! How can such a basic item such as white dish cloths be out of stock throughout the whole week? One month ago, I was looking for formula for my daughter, and the last ones of what I wanted got plucked up in front of my eyes by another person. This past week, I was looking for a new Oxo bottle brush and a new dish brush. The selection was so picked over, I didn't buy any of the brushes left. Then I wanted some fruit. There was NOTHING left worth buying. No bananas, no apples, moldy tangerines, 5 boxes of overpriced berries... seriously, who stocks this place? So frustrating because I love Target, but increasingly I need to buy from Amazon due to lack of stock at this location. Then there's the constant pressure to get a Red Card. I cannot tell you how many times I say "no thank you," only to be pressured again and again to get a Red Card in the same transaction. I avoid certain cashiers because of this. read more

I used to love this target every time I went to this location it was always a pleasant experience. I went in to buy a jacket and a gift card. When I came into the store I had a $25 gift card and my red card. When I got to the register the guy scanned up my items and scanned my gift card and had me put my chip in for the rest of my balance. Out of no where he cancels the whole transaction and proceeds to tell me I can't pay for a gift card with a gift card. The jacket that was scanned first came out to 25.86 and I had a gift card that was $15. My balance due was $15.86 ( so I wasn't paying for a gift card with a gift card) the register automatically separates what I can & I cannot buy with a gift card. After he cancels my transaction he wanted to do two separate transactions. One where I pay 86 cent and another one for $15 dollars I asked him why do I need to do two separate transaction and he proceeds to ask me if I have enough money on my red card. I asked for a manager and LISA came and asked me the same question. THERE WAS NO Probable cause for them to ask me if I had enough money on my card! My card did not decline or anything. I just didn't want to swipe my card twice. I called customer service they did nothing! I'm a faithful target shopper and a red card holder! With that being said I know the rules of what I can & can't do at target! That was very unprofessional to ask a customer if they had enough money on their red card without A probable cause! I honestly prefer Target over Wal-Mart. This target location is pretty good and usually has what I randomly need out of the blue. This target has a fresh and frozen food section I wouldn't suggest buying those type of grocery's here because Albertson's is right next to it and most things are actually cheaper at Albertson's. Excuse me? I price match with Targets in OC all the time. The need for a hard copy showing a competitors lower price is pretty much obsolete... came in to buy an external hard drive and was pleased to find out they price match Amazon. I was walked up to the service desk, because this is where price matching has to be done. The cashier then tells me they do not price match prime items. I asked him why that was when prime on Amazon mostly dealt with shipping cost not the price. He insisted numerous times that this was their policy. Once I asked for a manager, a young lady came up, they discussed the issue between them at which point she told him the item could be price matched. She explained to the cashier that since their scanner does not have prime, had he scanned it he would have seen that the Amazon price had nothing to do with prime. read more
