I've honestly never had a problem with Target until now and it's quite upsetting... my boyfriend and I came in at around 12 pm today and it was packed ... every single cashier had a huge line that went into the clothes rack. We did our shopping and everything was fine up until we waited in line for cashier 13 in which the line was formed to the side rather than straight into the clothes. I guess due to how busy and long the lines were they had an employee roll out a small cart to check people out faster to the side so this created some confusion for others who just got in line behind us. There were about five other customers behind us and when my boyfriend got to the front this lady behind asked him if this line was for and since the employees didn't say anything to anyone so this caused some confusion. And so the employee announced that they can go to whichever line they wanted and so they obviously got mad and blamed my boyfriend for "standing around" when it was a very obvious line for the last cashier because they didn't know that that was the line before they arrived ... and one of the customer started getting pissy and even threatened my boyfriend in front of everyone. No one really diffused the situation and were all mad at my boyfriend when they got in the line not knowing what the line was for ... so it was a pretty shitty situation while the employee could've also explained to the others that there was a line like that way before ... not sure if people were mad because of the election or can't handle waiting in lines ... which could've been easily resolved by doin online shopping if they had such issues. The target employee did apologize to my boyfriend but wish they could've explained the situation and diffused the situation. But other than that she was very friendly and I guess she was just tired from work due to how busy Target got. read more

A lot to be desired!!! Selections bad. Items found in other Target non existent here. The cashier pack my (own brought in & purchased 99 cent) bags so poor that my stuff couldn't fit. Oh but that was probably the idea so I'd have to buy a 10 cent bag for my almost $130 purchase. Horrible!!! There's a sign saying they are hiring - well hopefully the selection process will result in better customer service focused people. Not one person offered to assist as I navigated the aisles. Oh 1 star - why??? I had to put something to write this review. I'll stick to San Rafael's Shoreline store. I am here for work for the last 11 weeks and learning fast what business to stay away from. Shameful!!! Some chain stores have decided not to force people to buy bags for their purchase. Target can consider this. Won't be back to this location!!! read more

When I got inside the store, they were out of cart wipes. (carts are NASTY with baby slobber, milk spitup, nasal stuff, viral YUCK, etc etc) So I ask a staff member for more, he said they had none. The manager (a nice guy), told him to get me a paper towel. I asked if they had any antibacterial spray, he hands me window cleaner. I approached another manager, and she said the same, they ran out. I asked if she could get some off the shelf, she said no. I finally went and bought some myself, wiped the cart, and handed them to her. I spent 104.00 that day, because I was too tired to drive to another store. but next time I will go elsewhere. also very tired of the language barrier there read more

This review is for the CVS Pharmacy in Target, as they were amazing in helping me fill my prescription. I had to fill a prescription for a medication for the first time. I had a coupon from my doctor which would bring the copay to $20, BUT this coupon doesn't work if you have any type of federal or state insurance, which then jacks up the price to $115 (this is a prescription that I would have to regularly refill, so no way was I going to pay this). The pharmacist and tech were extremely helpful in trying ALL of the codes on the coupon to ensure it didn't work and when all failed, the pharmacist called my doctor to see if there is a similar medicine that is cheaper. The pharmacist called me the next day saying my doctor was out of the office so they couldn't recommend anything but I could stop by for a sample to hold me over. As I was about to leave to head to the doctor's office, the pharmacist called and said they had found a similar medicine that was less than a dollar. Major win. Thank you to the pharmacist who had done all of this for me as I didn't have to lift a finger to figure any of this out. She was so kind and helpful. Other than that, although this Target is smaller than other ones, it's Target, so it always delivers. read more

This Target gets five stars from me since they seem to be the only store in Marin to carry my favorite Lean Cuisine Selection, Santa Fe Rice and Beans. I have searched Safeway, Delano's and any store I walk into with a freezer section. I know this is a sad review but it made my day just a little bit better! read more

NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE! Over the past 10 days, I've called 3 times and stayed on hold for 15 minutes.

I like their clearance items and how tidy they usually keep the areas. The store is always clean and clear of debris. The associates at the lanes 80% of the time are very nice and know how to run the register without issue. The front lanes supervisors though are another story. I have had many encounters with the front end Supervisor and I have found them to be rude and disinterested in anyone's situation. The sales floor associates I think would be closer to 50% as to whether or not they decide tobe helpful. The one who are helpful tend to be VERY helpful, and the others are to busy working on their tasks. read more

After a disappointing stop at the nearby Verizon store I stopped in to look at phones at this Target. The man that appeared to be working in this department never acknowledged me and instead folded clothing at the electronics counter and the woman working behind the electronics counter rang up customer's 10 items of clothing while loudly complaining about her Coast Guard boyfriend dumping her via text and wishing his boat sinks. I needed pain medicine after surgery. They couldn't get it for me so I have to figure out how to get it the next day. I am in pain. Tried calling the pharmacy, kept saying it was closed but did NOT say when it would open. (Hours are all changed again due to new lockdowns.) I can't drive yet so have to walk 3 miles to pick this up. Called main number, tried every single number, but no one answers EVER even though it's supposedly open. Just absolutely worst service. They seem to think that the phone is just for shunting people to websites. Not even an option to talk to a human being. read more

In and out on a Holiday weekend -- I'll take it. My only real grief with this Target was due to the inside of the store being right out of the 90s. This is by far the worst target I have ever been too, and unfortunately its my home town store. Its always messy, the shelfs aren't stocked and the staff is extremely rude. Amy, one of the store manager has no business being a manager as she has zero people skills, and apparently no authority to honor discounts that are plastered all over the holiday section. Hello Target! I go into Target with a list and come out with 4 or 5 extra things I didn't really need. How does that work Target? I never spend over $100.00 if I'm really in need of items. Utterly amazing to me. This location is pretty neat and they usually have what you need in stock. I don't think I've ever had to ask someone to grab an item in the back for me. Low prices are always good... Gotta Love that! I haven't had the need for assistance yet, but I do know their customer service department is pretty on point the few times I've been there. The store manager is always walking around as well and he's pretty cool and laid back when I see him. Oh Target. Huge store! I was impressed by the selection in this store, so much more than the ones near my house. I only got the essentials but I could see from walking through the store that they had a good supply of things. Most aisles didn't look organized but that didn't bother me too much. Only Target in Marin County so it is always crowded except when you go right when it opens or go after 8pm. Parking is always a pain because people drive around in circles and don't want to park far and walk. The store is always clean when I shop there. The staff seems friendly, but I haven't had much interactions with them to really know. They have a mini food court near the entrance with a Starbucks!!! read more

We had been shoppers here for over a decade before the one in San Rafael opened which is closer. Not only is it closer to our house but it seems way less busy (which may not be good in thew long run). Parking is easier and they location is actually beautiful with views of the Bay. Another big plus for us is EV parking. They have 16 EV parking spots AND the first two hours of charging is FREE! read more

This is still my Target, changes and all. I don't know the layout of the store anymore, but with the cartwheel app, coupons, and sales, I make out really well at each visit. The new self-checkout lanes are a thumbs down. Only once have I seen them functional. I'm not sure what that's about. But on the plus side, I still can find most of what I need, and employees are quick to fix mistakes. Today the cartwheel app didn't register a percentage savings, and the customer service employee gave me some $ off coupons for future visits. They were for way more than what I was overcharged. I also had a good experience in electronics, when the employee and I sneakily completed my iPod purchases with my kids standing there. They had no idea their mom purchased their Christmas gifts right under their noses! :-D If the self checkout lanes were working, they'd earn that last star from me. read more

This place just keeps getting better and better. I am amazed at the cool stuff at this store!! For the most part, I love coming here to spend some cash because they have an incredible selection of everything-- kitchen stuff, baby stuff, CDs, DVDs, sheets, furniture -- and anything --- plus ongoing sales all the time and it seems like they keep adding more designers to keep their stuff super-hip. I actually bought everyone a calendar for $1 last year for Xmas/insert important holiday tradition here -- $1 per calendar -- Yeah. Can't do that everywhere. One half star taken away for the mishap I had once when they charged my card twice and I had to go down to the store to deal with it. But a half-star given back since it wasn't that big of a deal to take care of it. And another half star off for the obnoxious food court area in the store. This location is my go-to. I never have a problem with parking, there are always more than enough lanes open and the staff is invisible until I need them. Can't believe there are swimsuits in January! But it is California :) Set up like every other Target, which is great because everything is easy to find. Love the dollar section in the front of the store with little nick knacks that I absolutely don't need but love to have anyway. read more

This is a target that carries food so you can buy your socks and cream corn at the same time. The store is large abd brightly lit and what you would expect from a target shop except even thought the area is nicer the crowds are ghetto. I believe a message can paint a picture better in this case. My message to Target. "This week, I have realized that I had a bad experience in your store. I bought a Moto E smartphone in July 2015. The salesperson assured me that it was an UNlocked phone, which was what I was looking specifically (#1 priority) for at the time. Now I'm visiting in Asia and I've found out the truth. It's a LOCKED phone. I am pissed-off mad with great disappointment that your salesperson had to lie for whatever reason. Currently I'm working with Motorola to unlock the phone but with great difficulty. I will remind them to educate your staffs regarding their products. Anyways, I stopped by here with a group of buddies on our way north from LA and it just so happened that they actually had a Members Only jacket for sale, on sale and in my size. I have been to this target many times and none of them have been good experiences. Here is a list of problems i have with this store: 1. The customer service here is pretty bad. 2. They are always out of stock of shipping boxes. 3. When you call the electronic department, they always hang up on you. 4. The workers in the return department are extremely rude. 5. There is not enough employees on the floor to help out customers. I would recommend going to the san rafael store because the workers are friendly and is a bigger store. read more

This target is the worst target out of any from Marin, Sonoma and San Francisco that I've been to. Living in Novato I've been a thousand times and the past 5-6 years it's gone way downhill. The service on the floor actually makes me laugh. None of the employees want to help you and pretend that they dont hear you. The shoe department is usually a mess, clothes are scattered and they dont answer their phones! I called 5 targets from around the bay area and they are the only one that doesnt answer guest services and electronics. I get finding employees and quality ones at that van be tough, but management needs to pump up their team or at least set an exaplme as to what customer service looks like. Targhetto is perf and their employees make it better. Topher was helping me out in guest services with a return where I didn't have a receipt and wasn't quite sure where the DVD was even bought so I tried Target and all he needed was a driver's license and he was able to give me about $10 back on a Target gift card. Also, their clerance is always the same, since I go there almost every week, but sometimes I find those great deals and it boosts my confidence. Rebecca in Starbucks is an amazing barista. She always has a smile on her face when I go in there for some peppermint hot chocolate on those chilly afternoons. She makes my drink fast and its always extra good. Guy who picked up the call (I tried to get his name but he hung up on me.) Said that he'll be able to do that and took my name. I knew something was not right when he didn't even ask for my last name. When I went there today (Tuesday) the guy told me that they don't have my order and they cancelled it. Definitely the worst Target I've ever been to. At this point I've purchased several backpacks and suit cases from Target. I won't be back to this target not just because the cashier searched every pocket of a back pack I was purchasing, they almost left all 10 pockets unzipped, I had to say something. (This was the first time this happened, I've never had any bags searched.) The store was also in total disarray and the managers could not direct me to the bike hooks or to coat/clothing hooks. This Target, will fulfill all your basic Target needs and then some. I prefer to do most of my shopping online, other than food and clothing. So, I typically do avoid coming to Target in person if I can. I come from LA so Target is like a big hassle. Especially, if you decide you need to go on a weekend. Basically, nope. However, there have been many times when I've had the misfortune of having to set foot in here on a weekend. It, actually wasn't that bad. Even during times when it should be a damn zoo in there, it isn't. It gets busy but checkout is always relatively quick and the lines don't get that long. I definitely wait longer at Safeway, in comparison. The food prices here seem like a good deal but they aren't better than the grocery store, so I don't bother unless it's something I can only get here. Like those yummy frozen chocolate lava cakes. They have a lot of good Target brand snacks, and what not. Whenever I come here, it's always for something specific. Sometimes, I find it, sometimes I don't. It's kind of hit or miss. A lot of items are seasonal too, so, they may have it sometime during the year but not always. This goes for items you'd never think are "seasonal" too. This is part of the reason why I order pretty much everything from Target.com and have it sent to this store. The system is easy and fast. The search filters are helpful for finding very specific things. If you can't find it there, they probably don't carry it. They show you everything they have in store or that can be shipped so, you get the best of both worlds that way. The delivery to the store is quick and painless. I've had things ready in less than an hour to go pick up. And there's rarely a line in the customer service counter. I highly recommend that. read more

The phone line was never answered by the operator. In fact, the phone was picked up and put down, disconnecting me! I called again and never received any answer. Went in on slow weekday evening last week looking for a new case for my phone. Stood in the phone accessories for at least 5 minutes looking at iPhone cases while 2 employees were chatting to each other no more then 5 feet from me about some game. One of them finally asked me if I needed help and I asked him if he had any suggestions because I didn't know which to get. The other employee started saying how Apple went downhill after the iPhone 4S and the other proceeded to agree and talked about Apple more and acted liked I wasn't there anymore. It's losing its charm with each new upgrade. Gone are the gardens and quirky, yet affordable, clothing to be replaced with high-priced, low quality apparel and decorations. I'm so stupid. Never believe anything the target cashiers tell you! I can't believe I have to write this. But this morning I was in a extra good mood and I obviously wasn't thinking clearly. The cashier ask me if I wanted 5% off, usually I said no but she made it sound like it was a rewards card like the Safeway Card because she called it a "Target Card." I was like sure... why not. I thought they started a similar program to Safeway's program. When I asked why she need my social (again, I must have been drunk with Christmas cheer or soemthing) she said that they just needed to know who I was. I'm so stupid. I was just thinking what could Target could possibly do with my social, I trust them, they're a good store. Then she hands all this paperwork after the process and tells me she charged it to my card! I was like, what card? Then it all comes together, I freakin just signed up for a freakin credit card... my husband is gonna think I'm so stupid. I just felt I could trust Target... geez, Christmas time is making me too optimistic. Or maybe my blood sugar was too low. Shame, shame on you Target! I'm so dissapointed. i am a true target-lover. i could go to target everyday. i DO go to target (almost) everyday! who wouldn't love the isaac mizrahi collection? the ridiculously affordable bikini mix-n-matches? the $10 flats? the home section? the cleaning supplies? so, when i moved in a few doors down to THIS target, i was stoked. i stocked up on my canvas target bags (plastic bags are so out folks, what's the deal?) and frequented close to daily. i never worried about being out of toilet paper, mascara, a lunch, or a cute outfit in a pinch on saturday's lunch break. and then, i started to realize.. i can't really get that stuff anymore. their clothing selection is so poor. who does the ordering for this store? the lunch varieties are small *note, the food aisle, not that funky hot dog & nacho stand* and there are virtually NO selections. so... the variety and assortment of ANYTHING there is upsetting. it gives target a bad name. and you know who else does? their employees. the worst department store customer service offered, by anyone! not only are they EXTREMELY unhelpful, but when they check you out it's like talking to a three-year old. actually, that's giving three-year olds a bad name.. i have never been so disappointed in sales and service at a target.. this doesn't even COMPARE to the service at wal-mart. i would much rather go there! also, they seem to have new trainees every-other day. turnover, much? not surprising. marin-ites, save your SANITY and check out the richmond target. it's equally distant if you are coming anywhere from san rafael and south. plus, it's two-stories and has an escalator that you can fit your cart on! anyone north of SR, hit up rohnert park target. it's amazing. plus, it's next to RP costco (also a better costco). you'll wonder why you never did in the first place... read more
