THE BEST EYE EXAMS WITH OPTOMETRISTS and STAFF THAT CARE. I've been visiting the Optometrists and getting my glasses here for the past 4-5 years. What keeps me coming back is the level of care that the Optometrists take when completing an eye exam. The eye exams are simple as can be and not intimidating. What I like most is that the eye doctor is willing to answer any questions or concerns and even correlate your eye health to your overall health. Although I have insurance elsewhere (Kaiser Perm) that covers my eye exams and get me discounts on glasses, I choose to come here and pay out of pocket because I do not feel like a number or a sale. Moreover, at time when the Opticians may speak to you about a need or opportunity to get a new pair of glasses, they do not put any pressure. Instead, they are very convincing of the value of the lens and frames they offer and will even try to get you the most bang for your buck. I've been 100% happy with all the glasses I've purchased here and I am proud to count myself as a loyal customer here. I have even referred friends and family here and they too have been very pleased and well taken care of as a result of coming here. If you get your exam here, I would recommend the Optomap on each visit as the image becomes part of your patient record. So incredibly frustrated and angry. I drove 30+ minutes to see this doctor, because of the great reviews. HUGE mistake. I came in December and my glasses were ready in January. Drove down to pick them up and they were wrong and had to be redone. Ok, mistakes happen. After over 2 weeks (almost 3), they still weren't ready. I called to check on them and she said they had just been sent in a few days prior, so they still weren't ready!! (Forgot to send them in? Not sure how that ball was dropped) Finally went back today to pick them up today (February) and THEY'RE WRONG AGAIN! The kicker, they said because it's now February, fixing them would use this years benefit! What the heck?!? Why on Earth am I being penalized for their mistake?? Tried to talk to the doctor, but I as told she wouldn't come out to speak to me (even though I was willing to wait). Ended up returning them, which means I lose last years vision benefits AND don't have updated lenses. I would NEVER go back to this office, nor would I recommend. Inept employees and poor customer service. read more

At Target optical Chino Hills, I've met with two of the optometrists and they have been amazing. They take the time to listen and never made me feel rushed. They seemed very knowledgeable and in the end, helped me get it right. which hadn't happened at the smaller private optometrists I've been to in the past. But where Target Optical really shines is the "terrific trio" of Camille, Josiah, and Ethan. Okay, first off I'm affectionately known as the "trouble child" which is unarguably accurate. But the reason why is, I've been to 3-4 different private optometrists over the past 10 years, and I've got prescription after prescription and dozens of glasses, none which ever felt right. This poor team came on my OCD journey to find a perfect pair of contacts and eyeglasses to help me in life as well as my 10 hour-a-day job in front of a large computer screen. I went through three or four different brands of contacts, dailies and weeklies. Three pairs of glasses that I swapped the lenses out at least two times and a pair of readers that I even swapped lenses out on those. And all the while asking for deals, asking for price matches and using coupons. I'm telling you they never even flinched they supported me all the way. They are warm considerate amazing people that I truly felt they cared about me, and my vision. My past experience with optometrists is being rushed through, hard sold, and hurried out on my way. I love the doctors and the fact that they're open on weekends. The location is also very convenient. But the receptionist seems to take so many steps in order to do simple things! Perhaps she needs an assistant or something? For example, it's taken SEVERAL visits for me to order contacts. The initial exam; the fitting because my contacts weren't in stock; and yet another visit to finally order them! At my old optometrist, this could be done at one time. Not to mention the various phone calls it'll take to schedule appointments. I just don't have enough time to deal with all the follow-ups. read more

I came here after reading online reviews about the optometrist Dr. Karen Sun Aleta. I initially went to The Eastvale Target Optical and was not impressed with the front office people and it was crazy busy at 1:45 PM on a Tuesday. I first called after I made an appt online. Josiah answered the phone promptly and answered my questions I had . When I arrived he was polite and accommodating and I didn't feel pressured or intrusive. Dr. Aleta was very professional, had a pleasant attitude and was very thorough with my eye appt. The eyewear selection is plentiful and reasonably priced. It was a very pleasant experience coming here ( first time ) and I highly recommend them if you need an eye exam and new glasses. read more

I choose the place was because there has the Chinese communicate since I have limited English. But 1/21/2020 when I got to the store and looking for someone to speak Chinese, Richard told me the doctor who can speak Chinese will be back in a month. Richard was very patient and friendly to explain everything to me, so I decided to give doctor Yu a try (not sure Yu is a correct spell ). Doctor Yu spoke to me with slow speed, so that I can easily get his word. He repeated the explanations again and again when I have questions. I found that I am no longer to worry about difficult medical terms. The exam was so relaxing and enjoyable that I made the appointment with Doctor Yu next year :) read more

My husband and I had our appointments yesterday and we were so pleased with how everything went. Dr. Tea was super nice to us and very thoroughly explained everything she was doing and why. My husband has been wearing contacts for years and he said he has never gotten this much information about his contacts/prescription during his eye exams. I can't speak for the other other but Dr Tea is very kid friendly. We had to bring our 2 kids with us and she was very nice to them. We've had to bring our kids to other appts before and they always acted like our kids were a bother, but not her. This was my first time getting contacts so I had to get trained by another associate to make sure I can actually put them on myself. He was very helpful as well. And you can't beat the prices. We went to lenscrafters last year and they were charging my husband $230 for a year supply of contacts AFTER insurance. But here, for a year supply of contacts after insurance... $45. Never going to lenscrafters ever again. read more

My first time here and my first time getting an eye exam. I honestly didn't know what to expect because my vision has never been an issue, so I was a little nervous. Dr. Tea made me feel at ease from the very start. Anytime I had to do new tests for my eyes, she was very nice about explaining what the purpose was. I did the dilation test too, Dr. Tea was very gentle when putting the eye drops in my eyes. She explained that it would make my eyes feel goopy, which they totally were, but that it was perfectly normal. After 15-20 minutes or so, I was all dilated out and everything was blurry. Good thing I didn't come alone or that would've been a mission to drive back home, haha. My experience today with Dr. Tea was more than professional and also very friendly. Dr. Tea made me feel so at ease that I'll definitely be making her my primary eye doctor! Oh and before I forget, Josiah was super friendly too! She knew so much about my eye condition and helped me pick the prescription with the best clarity. I went to my appointment today expecting to meet Dr. Tea, since most of the reviews were about her. But my eye doctor turned out to be Dr. Yu (or however his name is spelled). And he was amazing! He was very easygoing and he explained everything to me patiently. The eye exam took less than 30 minutes and was surprisingly pleasant. The staff next door was also very friendly and attentive. Dr. Tea was so sweet and patient with all 5 of my kiddos. Thankfully she also understood what it's like to have a big family! My kids loved her and both of the associates working in the office next to hers were just as awesome. They helped us find the frames we were looking for and were super patient with my kids despite the fact they were scooting around on the chairs and touching everything they could. My 2 year old was melting down which is never fun and I was having to breastfeed my newborn, both stressful while trying to find glasses for my other kiddos. I never once felt like they were annoyed by us. My husband was also having trouble finding frames and they had a genius idea of using some sunglass frames he found and turning them into normal glasses. I came in to get a prescription for contacts and talked to the doctor about how I've always wanted to try colored one but that my other optometrists would never prescribe them for me because on my astigmatism. She told me that we could try a non astigmatic contact prescription out and see how I like it and if it works she'll write me a colored co tact prescription...the prescription worked out great and now I have 3 different colors of contacts I ordered. My favorites are the Air optix colors in sterling grey!!!!! read more

Dr. Tea is fantastic, this review is not for her but the optical department. Went to this optical to pick up a glasses prescription at 3pm. Department was closed with all lights on, phone ringing, and close gate down with a sign that read "We will return shortly to assist you". I looked at the hours next to the close gate and read that the hours for Monday is 10-8, but when there is one employee, department will be closed for 30 minutes between 2 and 3. I waited for an employee to return, along with another customer waiting for help from optical. 40 minutes went by when I decided to ask Customer Service if there is an update when the department will reopen. The first employee that helped me, a young man, gave me the response that he "just saw Josiah leave about 20 minutes ago, he should be back soon", to which I replied "The department was still closed 20 minutes ago, when they should have been opened as of 3" and the employee just looked at me and shrugged. I requested to speak with a manager and spoke with Raymond. Raymond apologized that I have now been waiting 40 minutes for the department that should have already been opened, but followed up with a response that Target is not affiliated with the optical department, even though it was not the optometrist I was waited to meet with it was the actual TARGET OPTICAL department. I received the contact information for the manager of the optical department, Richard, which is the same number for the optical department phone that continued to ring behind the shut close gate. After an hour and 5 minutes of waiting for the department to open, I decided to leave and give up on this optical department. I will return solely for Dr. Tea, but will not waste my time with the optical department. read more
