Dr. Massie was incredibly thorough during my exam, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. You can tell he truly cares about his patients and takes pride in providing top-quality care. The staff was just as impressive--friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful when it came to choosing frames and understanding my options. They made the entire process easy and even enjoyable. Terrible customer service in fact I don't even think the customer service exists here. Dr works less then half the week and both eye glass and contact lens prescription are wrong. After speaking with Target employees apparently this is an on going issue. As the customer I've been having to go back and forth to where I purchased my glasses dealing with the optometrist mistake. 7th street & Bell Target I walked in early at 9:10 ish for my 9:30 appointment today. The front desk girl was on her phone and didn't look up for almost a good 30 seconds ... she was nice when she explained the paperwork and took my glasses to check the script. Didn't wait long, the Dr. I think he said I could call him Josh ? Took me to do the pressure test and then into the exam room. The room was filthy, a thick layer of dust on everything, carpet ripped in places, seemed very old... everything was worn, the ipad was even cracked across the screen. The Dr. was not the normal doctor, he said he had his own office, he was just helping out Dr. Castro. He spoke so fast and moved so quickly.... I went back at 9:30 and was to my car at 9:42. The least thorough visit I have ever had, no additional screenings or tests, no questions about what I filled out like allergies or dry eyes, no suggestions, nothing. Also, he picked up a few things in the room, and none of them worked. He told me to wait up front while he wrote my script, I went up and paid while I waited, he came up and asked the girl if it would print from the iPad and she responded shortly and with a rude tone, "nope, you have to handwrite it".... I asked her if she was not a fan of the Dr.... because that was the second comment she made that made me think she was annoyed with him or the procedures of the office. I liked some of the glasses, seemed reasonably priced, however there wasn't the largest selection and I have a wider face and they were all so small. I did not want to be with the dirty store and less than great experience, so I left without getting glasses. I am used to private owned shops that are clean and staff is super helpful and the doctor is thorough.... my insurance changed this year, and I am bummed I chose Target for my exam. read more

The girl that works there who is supposed to help you order your glasses is absolutely the rudest person I have ever seen. She wasn't just rude to me, she was rude to the other customer in the shop at the time too. She literally said she didn't have time for her tonight, A WHOLE HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE CLOSE!!! Absolutely avoid the optical department here! I needed a fast appointment which they did but they also BROKE MY FRAMES! The last doctor quit in the middle of my contacts order and they want me to pay for a new everything since they can no longer access the files. I have been met with unhelpful or rude tech one after another! read more

staff is SUPER friendly! no doubt about that. the doctor is a joke . he had to redo my kids eye exam ( the puff test) twice because he didn't know what he was holding in his hand. they told me it was going to take 2 weeks for glasses to come in. i am currently STILL waiting and we are on week 4 for glasses to come in. read more

Last Oct. 6, I went to this Target Optical on 7th st. and Bell road with my son. We both had an eye check up and the doctor was good. When the doctor gave me the result of my eye exam, I decided to use my favorite prescription eyeglasses that I bought from LensCrafters years ago coz i love that frame and they told me it's ok and they will be ready for pick up in two weeks. They did the paperwork and I paid with my visa card. After two weeks waiting for a tex message or a call from them but did not get any , I decided to call three times and left a voice mail msg. I decided to drive and went to target optical talk to them. A gentleman probably an eye doctor told me that someone will call me the next day coz my eyeglasses are not there yet but did not receive any calls after three days waiting. Went back to Target Optical and talked to the lady working there and she told me that the laboratory or wherever they make the lenses told them that they did not receive my eyeglasses on time whatever that means. and they were just waiting to send my frames back. Until now I don't know wha to expec, when will I get my prescription glasses so I could use them especial at work. Hope there is someone from Target Optical who can read this and help with my eyeglasses. read more

They've really messed this up! Forgot to order contacts, which are supposed to be in, and I will run out of my daily lenses. Reuse? Internet says it's risky. It's also risky to drive with poor vision. Top it off with rude staff. Never again with target optical. read more

The doctors are great. The staff needs training. For example, please call back when people leave a message. Also, if someone is waiting to be helped, rather than ignore them, say "I'll be with you in a minute." Or"How can I help?" Also, if they have an appointment, call them to let them know if there has been a change in schedule. Also, please do call the customer if their $500.00 dollar order has arrived-- especially if they are leaving town the next day. read more

Incompetence at a dangerous level. When some drops off a prescription it's for medical reasons, right? Including vision, right? Well... when someone can't see I'd call that a medical issue. Target optical and the system they use regretfully don't have the same level of concern or for that matter, any at all for its customers or patients. So when we selected frames to be spec'd over a week and a half ago (with a 7-10 business day delivery window) and paid for them we expected delivery today but instead it is disappointing to know the level of basic critical thinking needed was so low, a 5 year old would have yielded enough brain power to call the patient long ago to let them know the frames were not actually available. All the while, my loved one can't see. Therefore, it's fair to say you are putting the life of my loved one at risk for every day she doesn't have her new and only glasses. Putting the lives of your customers at risk is criminal and further examination of your negligent behavior is warranted. read more

So, it was as simple as this. I made an appt there last year to get my prescription updated, I told everyone i spoke to there from the jump I didn't have insurance and I just needed an updated script to order frames from a site that has much more affordable prices. I think that was my mistake, because they knew they couldn't sell me any and everything they acted like I was an afterthought. The first lady I met with was slow and acted like she'd rather be elsewhere. Then I meet with Dr Brigg (I think) and he did his job, nothing really to complain over but seeing as they prob make a good chunk of money from selling frames and lenses, they knew I wasn't buying so they could care less. I did actually want to try some contacts, Dr said he'd have to order in a trial pair for me, said it'd take a week. He said they'd call when they were in. 2 weeks go by, 3, 4, I'm calling every week asking if they came in because I still obviously care about my eyes. Left voicemail's, no one ever called me back to give me update and tbh I dont think they ever ordered them cause I never received them. Which is sad, a customer is a customer, I still paid them $120 for my exam, least you can do is give me a pair of trial lenses to see if I like them. If they couldn't even have the decency to keep their word and do right by me, why would I ever give them a chance for long term eye care. Sorry, no thanks. read more

Bought a pair of expensive Ray Ban prescription sunglasses there. Was specifically told that i could switch the regular prescription lenses to progressive lenses within 90 days for a nominal charge. Went back today to order the progressive lenses and was told that you can't put progressive lenses in the frames i had purchased. Only option is to buy new frames. WTF. They only had a few frames that would take the progressive lenses and they were hideous. Ended up walking out rather than dealing with their BS. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice..... will never happen. read more
