Terrible customer service. It's sad that once a store is so big they can just get away with hiring rude incompetent people.

This is the first Target store to get worse after a remodel. Let's start with the most glaring problem: everything is locked up! Deodorant, razors, laundry detergent, vitamins, personal care products, cleaning products, basically everything you need for living your daily life is locked behind a glass cabinet. In order to get to any one of hundreds of products in this store, you have to flag down an employee or activate a call button that, for all I know, is a placebo button. Of course, Target is definitely not increasing staffing to compensate for requiring every customer to find an employee to fetch every item on their list. Today I waited ten minutes to be able to get an employee to open just one case to get deodorant. "I hope you didn't wait long." Well guess what, buddy: I did. And I immediately decided I wasn't going to get half of the things on my list because I didn't want to wait for an employee to spring each one from its jail. Target's defense for this would no doubt be to claim the reason is an increase in theft -- ironic because Target's decades of race-to-the-bottom wages and standard operating practice of union busting are what create the desperate poverty which leads to theft to begin with. Notice it's not the $80 Lego sets and $70 bed linen sets locked up: it's the basic personal products that people need but can't afford. But I digress. What Target is doing here is stopping a handful of shaving cream thieves at the expense of making every customer's shopping experience miserable, not to mention making us all feel like presumed criminals just for trying to do some basic shopping. And making customers feel insulted and hate their experience in your store is not a good way to get us to come back. Alienating customers is never a smart choice, but it's especially stupid after investing in a year long remodel. I'm not coming back until this changes, and I'm sure lots of customers feel the same way. read more

The online ordering for in store pickup works okay, nothing great. However, the inventory management system is a disaster. Several times I have ordered items for pickup, only to have the order canceled or reduced at pickup time. In 2013 Target gave away everyone's credit card information. Folks in the industry pointed out that Target had outsourced almost all of their data processing. There were no knowledgeable people within the organization. Apparently that was never addressed. Target keeps blaming shoplifting for their inventory problems, but in reality it is an inability to count products on the shelf. read more

This Target decided to lock up products on a ton of random aisles so you can't actually get anything off the shelves without chasing down an employee and having them unlock the case. Want to get your own deodorant? Not without help. Laundry detergent? Nope. Toothpaste? Not today, shopper! read more

If you are trying to find a good Target, I would recommend this one. Unlike the one on J street, this one has a huge selection of stuff. The employees are helpful nice. Only bad thing there is no new Xbox Games there but a lot of PlayStation and Nintendo. read more

I was shopping with my daughter and granddaughter in this Target and 2 of us HAD to use the bathroom. I have to say this Target has by far the most disgusting and filthy bathroom I have ever been to, beyond the worst gas station bathroom! Trash was everywhere, all the toilets had urine on them and I even saw a feminine product on the floor! It was the twilight zone! I had to request the manager at which time I spoke extremely sternly with the manager. I suggested she go and check it out and she didn't, at least at that time. My 15 yr old granddaughter wouldn't even use the restroom..now that's bad! read more

I always go to this target bc it's closest to where I live, but it is now the most inconvenient store to shop at. I needed detergent one day and nothing else, but it was locked up. Detergent. So I ring the bell expecting someone to come around the corner...but no I kept on ringing that thing and NO ONE could help me. At least 4 employees walked by and could not help, only managers can I guess (?). It took over 10 MINUTES to get detergent! Extremely annoying when I can see all the loss prevention employees stalking people of color. If it's locked up, I'm not paying for it. Period. I'll go somewhere else. read more

so since my last review this target location has really did a total transformation. this is now my favorite target. I come in all the time and everything is always stocked. I noticed they locked up the toiletries and household soaps but recently they are all unlocked and the doors are open. maybe they're sick of helping people get something out of the locked cabinets is my guess. Oh Theeee ghetto! Even though this location is the closest to me I usually go to the Laguna location but I needed some pet food so I stopped by. As soon as I got out my car I seen security speed walking after a homeless guy in the parking lot. Went inside walked past the aisles seems like everything was locked up, this Target gives "Walmart Florin vibes", even the soap and deodorant is locked up- must have some musty customers. The man at electronics was really nice though he rang me up for all of my items. I made sure I had my receipt out walking out the door so I don't get tackled by security for my cat food and paper towels. read more

Target is always great for a large shopping trip but this one on Broadway always seems to be missing major necessity's. Many of the shelves go un-stocked and I thought this was just happening to me as I usually go at night. However, even on a Sunday morning, many products I was looking for were just missing. The customer service here is always awesome! They definitely have some characters within the store which is a plus but this specific location tends to be under staffed. On my most recent trip, I waited 15 mins to order a coffee at the Starbucks inside and when I was ready to check out, the line stretched all the way back to the grocery section. I'd only recommend this target if it's nearby and your grabbing enough to get through the self checkout line quickly. read more

Now that they've installed plexiglass over all the shelves you're better off shopping somewhere else. You have to wait for attendants to come and open the shelves... which somehow keeps people from stealing, according to the cashier. Was at here today, saw a toy car that had a broken door and a bunch of tape on it, no box, and a tag hanging. I asked the person in the department if there are any discounts since it's broken. Seeing my daughter really wants it and all this toy needs is some love and glue, we were directed to guest services. Guy at guest service knew nothing and had to grab someone above him. When the lady came over, she said she could only mark it down 30%, which was $38.00. Then she told her employee, if I don't buy it they will defect it out and get their money back (as if it was her money). At that point, I just said, "oh yes definitely, I don't want it. Yes, you should get your money back, you definitely look like you need it more than I do." And we walked off. Target preaches to their employees about empowering themselves with knowledge and skill to provide excellent service so you don't have to grab a manager every time for every little thing. I stopped by for some bathroom stuff and wrapping paper. All bar soap, body wash & toothpaste is behind locked hassle cases now. There was one staff covering 3 aisles & a queue of people. I walked away. I'm not waiting in line for permission to purchase $7 bar soap. They got my $20 for wrapping paper & lost $40+ to the hassle cases. How was your experience at this Target? I think things are getting worse at this store. I walked in to pickup deodorant and I found out that it's all locked up in a glass. As soon as I stood there, trying to figure out which one, I had a security guard and an employee walk right up to me, as soon as I made eye contact they walked next to me to let me know their presence. It's sad that our stores are struggling with theft. But Target, you need to be careful not to profile people based on skin color. The great debate amongst people, Target or Walmart? Well, I am definitely a target supporter! Maybe I am biased because my first job was with Target and the red shirt and khaki pants was instilled in me from an early age. Eh, who really knows. I do find this location very clean and convenient as its close by to my gym, freeways, and my home. Mostly, when I come here I usually find everything I need fairly quickly. I get in and get out. Never had an issue with customer service here as everyone is quite friendly during my visits. They have quality products especially for Men's fitness wear, I purchase clothing for a 10 mile Spartan race and it held up to perfection throughout the whole race! It is also affordable compared to the Under Armor or Nike brands. But hold up, how about that Target popcorn tho!? read more

Terrible customer service from the woman on the far right cash register (heavier set, dark slicked back black pony tail) of customer service. She helped me with my pickup order half way, then full-on cut me off while I was in mid question to walk away and help someone else. She straight up told me I would need to come back tomorrow because she couldn't help me... Well, she could have helped me, she just just refused to--because the woman on the left cash register (younger, longer hair) DID help me. Easily. Took less than a minute of her time to finish my order and answer my question. The first woman honest to goodness has no business working with people. The rest of the workers I interacted with were just doing their best, but dang... why you so mad, lady? WATCH YOURSELF HERE!! I bought $150 in apple iTunes gift cards. By the time I got the home and opened them, they were already redeemed. Somehow their cashier or someone else figured out how to steal $150 from me. The store "manager" did nothing but gave me some bogus phone number to call. So I wouldn't shop here. There's at least one thief on the registers or somewhere and management won't do anything about them stealing from you. I've been shopping at this target since it opened. It was once a great store. Not any more. Now they allow employees to not mask up fully. The floors and shelves need cleaning. They do nothing about the aggressive beggars INSIDE THE STORE. The stealing from me and the lack of management response are the final straw. Shop at this store at your own risk. I'm done with this spot. FOLLOW UP: Days later, I find out from target customer services folks that there is no store manager and hasn't been since January. So who tf is pretending to be the manager when I called? COCKROACHES this target is absolutely disgusting! not only is this store always out of stock on everything they've got roaches. i cannot tell you how absolutely disgusted i am of this store i can only imagine people unknowingly bringing these disgusting creatures home to they're families and the store is just flat out dirty. over the years the store has just gotten deteriorated. also talked to the manager and she said she was new and she'd get an exterminator there but altogether the store should have never gotten that disgusting. read more

As far as Targets go - this one is great! They just renovated their grocery section which now has fresh produce. Avocados are large and reasonably priced (a staple in every California grocery store). I've been able to find random keto products here that I might not readily find at other Targets. They have a HUGE beauty aisle including LOTS of makeup, hair supplies, nail equipment, etc. The entire store is well organized and clean. It's a pleasure to browse! Four stars instead of five because there isn't a huge selection of certain food products. read more

Great guest service team members! I had a special case that usually wouldn't be acceptable for a return, but I called ahead of time to ensure I could be taken care of. I guess there was some miscommunication and I was actually told the wrong info, which was very frustrating. However, the supervisor on duty, Brandon, clarified and allowed my return. I really appreciated the exception. Mary tried to do the return and was unable to, so Taneka stepped in. All three members of this store were very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated their understanding of my situation and their accommodations. If I were closer to the area I would def shop here all the time! read more

Clean interior. Hand sanitizer and masks available at the entrance. Hand sanitizer available at the exit. The screens they placed throughout the store make it very easy to look up where items are located. I like using the self-checkout, but the line can be long sometimes and they only have four. If you're coming by car, park farther away from entrance and closer to Broadway. There is a long-haired lady that hangs around the parking spaces in the center and comes up to people asking for change. Seen her late afternoons on two instances, about a month apart. Looks like they got rid of the food court where you could get popcorn and hot dogs. They kept the Starbucks though. I don't think Target is seen as a grocery store, and I certainly wouldn't recommend people to shop there for food weekly. The prices keep climbing over time. The boxes of candy that used to be $1 are now $1.29. It's sad because it used to be cheaper than other places like Dollar Tree (now $1.25) and Walmart (price similar to Target now). Not much of a deal anywhere nowadays. A lot of the clothing is expensive despite being plain. Some of the basics are decently priced though, like the tank tops from Wild Fable. If there's something you want but don't want to pay full price, I'd recommend coming back after a few weeks to see if it moves to the clearance racks. I do want to start off by saying something positive and that would be the clerks are for the most part very nice. But I was disgusted by the lack of carts being sanitized....actually nit one of the carts in the store looked like it had been cleaned in a very long time. The one I chose was a cleaner one- nasty used mask in it along with popcorn and whatever else that someone didn't finish eating. I never come here and just for this reason. So far Target has been my one stop shop store. Starting from the pandemic last year and still going strong for my family. Walking in being greeted and just to feel good shopping they have hand sanitizer and fresh blue masks. I don't know why but I do exchange my mask for a fresh one. Garbage is arms length away to toss the old mask. I must say they just need to add more floral or to keep up the orders in that Pati category for me. They are in line with Hobby Lobby prices. They have expanded their $3 and $5 line which is always great. Especially nowadays a budget for me really matters. Oh yeah, tons of bathing suits. read more

I love Target. This store is my go to when I run out of, say lightbulbs, but also need more turkey bacon and a new swimsuit. It's not in the best part of town, but not the worst either. It's a stone's throw from land park and nice places to grab a bite to eat. Store is usually appropriately stocked. Parking lot is monitored extensively. I've never had a problem, even at night. BIKE PARKING galore. For when I don't have a buttload of things to take home and can forgo the car. Organization is a little weird. I was looking for more Marvel shirts that I totally need (yeah right) in the men's section, when the men's section abruptly turned into the corner of the electronics area. Confusing set up back there, but I usually find what I need in a timely fashion. Love those prices! I'm really appreciative of the picture frame collections, and the Threshold Target line of bedding, towels, and draperies. This is how I afford to live in midtown. Thanks Target. *Hugs* read more

This Target isn't anything to get to enthused about. Nevertheless, during the time of COVID-19 when this review was written, I did appreciate the order ahead of time pick up service. It made for a fast, convenient shopping experience and works well when ordering small and simple. I was in line behind a woman who had a large, complex order where apparently either an item was missing or the wrong brand, so I wouldn't rely on this system for a full comprehensive shopping trip. But if you need shampoo and deodorant and a couple basics, it's a good choice. I've also found this Target better stocked than the other one I visit over off 65th. They had both cleaning products and toys (for my son, not me) here that they didn't have across town. read more

Not quite a brand new Target, but they still have the usual departments that you'll need for shopping. For today's visit, I needed a cigarette lighter adapter to charge my phone in the car. Ugh, I seem to keep leaving these things behind in rental cars. A friendly associate saw me looking at the $30 ones and brought me over and handed me one that was only $10. This store has a bizarre layout but it's close to me so I go there. I may not in the future after last weeks visit. I saw a group of four young girls walking all around the store with no face coverings, a woman without one, and the SECURITY guard with it pulled down over his chin (ie not covering his nose or mouth). I was going to ask why masks weren't being enforced but when I saw the guard I realized it was probably hopeless and I should just go elsewhere. Keep yourself safe and stay away from here. read more

Bought three gift cards for Christmas. Three weeks later, the people, I gifted the cards to, returned them to me, saying that they were not active. So not only had deal with the embarrassment, but also make a special trip to target to see if the gift cards could be activated. Nobody at the store was able to help me. I was just instructed to call the phone number on the back of the gift card. Called the phone number and they told me that I ticket and case was activated. And they will contact me, Not only did I spend money, over $200 in December, the people I gifted the cards, still don't have it their Christmas gift, I had to take time out of my day to drive to target to solve the problem, which it was not. I also had to call a phone number and wasted time. And still the problem is not solved. Worst service ever ! Why would I ever consider buying a target gift card again? read more

The new locked cabinets make the shopping experience here stressful and annoying. Now I need to wait 15 minutes or flag down an employee just to buy some $4 deodorant, and god forbid I need razor blades too so have to stop them from walking away because I need a second cabinet unlocked! This results in awkward crowds in these aisles all waiting on the employee. If the goal is the make basic shopping miserable, they've succeeded. read more

I've really enjoyed coming to this Target location! It's one of the older Target stores in Sacramento, but I like that they seem to always have the item I'm looking for in stock, when all of the other Target locations in Sacramento are out of stock. Also, the customer service here has been great. Viet from Guest Service was really nice and accommodating - he allowed me to get a price adjustment on a sweater that went on sale that I bought a week ago at regular price, and he let me use the Cartwheel deal that was going on in addition to that. When I had called the Target in Rancho Cordova (closest one to me) about doing that, they said that I could only do the price adjustment, not use Cartwheel. I appreciate Viet going the extra mile to make sure the customer is happy. When I was shopping in the Christmas area, there was an employee walking around greeting people and asking how they're doing. I appreciated that because it made me feel more comfortable asking him a question about an item, without it feeling like I was bothering him. When I finished my purchase at Self-Checkout, one of the employees standing nearby said, "Have a nice day!" I don't think that's ever occurred at other Target stores I've been to when I'm at Self-Checkout. I was pleased. Lastly, this location has a Starbucks inside, so now there's really no reason for me to not come here in the future. Many years ago they didn't have a Starbucks here, so it's nice seeing that that's available too now at this location. read more
