Good selection of toys at this Target. A lot of mark downs. At my local Target in Colma, a lot of stuff is sold out like the Target exclusive music albums. This Target doesn't feel like it has been raided by re-sellers. The only drawback is they don't have the Icee machine or popcorn at the front area. However, there is a Starbucks inside. read more

Came by the other day for a store pickup and it was a quick and easy experience....sort of! Ordered ahead for pickup and my order was the day that Target IT sytems were down and I got no confirmation e-mail for hours! Turns out my primary store was sold out and Target suggested an alternate store, or delivery, free of charge. Leveraged the West San Jose store for in-store pickup and my order was ready within minutes of arrival. The team member had a name tag attached to their Telxon gun making it hard for me to capture their name. The experience was quick and easy. Opted to grab a gift card and it required assistance as a team member needed to grab the actual gift card sticker to place on the gift card in order to activate the gift card (to prevent fraud) Parking was plentiful. Was able to get in and out within minutes first thing in the morning! read more

Very poor customer service at Target Westgate. In Electronics, the employee refused to check us out, saying they were too busy with online orders--even though there were hardly any customers and we only had 4 items. Being told to go downstairs instead was frustrating and unnecessary. Starbucks was also disappointing. I ordered a crème brûlée latte, but the barista didn't explain they were basically out of the sauce and still made the drink anyway. It had no flavor, and to make it worse, they wrote on the top of the lid with a Sharpie, causing strong marker fumes while drinking. I understand it's a busy season, but better communication and basic customer service are still expected. read more

This is the worst Target I've ever been to. Nothing was in stock, a bunch of the shelves were empty (not fully empty but missing entire items), and I pressed a help button on the 2nd floor and no one ever came. There was no one working the registers (only self checkout was open) so I couldn't get a hard tag removed off some shorts I bought. I finally found someone and she was incredibly unhelpful so I ended up at the return counter. read more

I came to target thinking i would be making a quick trip to get some baby formula, literally came in my PJ and bed hair... Once I got to the baby formula isle the button to please for help was no longer there so I went to another isle. I pressed it twice and waited.... Finally saw someone coming but she said she didn't have a key nor radio so to just press the button every 2 minutes and someone will be here shortly. So I did that for a few minutes and saw another employee coming, she radioed to someone in Spanish so i don't know what was said but she came back and said someone was coming and pointed as if the person was coming in that moment. So I waited a few more minutes, nobody. Another shopper then comes needing help as well. Then another employee but he didn't have a key nor radio but said he'd find someone for me. So I waited... the other shopper went to go look for someone and another employee came by and said she didn't have a key and walked away... The other shopper then comes back with this same employee, I waited while she helped him even though I had been waiting a lot longer. As she's helping him she looks at me, so she sees me waiting. After she finished helping him she tried to bolt around the corner and I said Hey, I need help too I've been waiting a long time. She then says she'll be back to help me. Absolutely not! I told her no I've been waiting and I needed a manager at this point. She comes to open mine and saying "I'm not manager, go downstairs" and I said I know but are you able to call one. She said no, I'm not a manager and walked away... I then go to customer service and waiting for two employees to finish their conversation and one of the employees started walking towards me and tried scanning my phone... why just assume I'm there to pick up... anyways.. I ask for a manager and he said "he's down by Starbucks but he should be back down this way soon..." I waited a min and said forget it, I look a mess and I'm too upset at this point to talk. So i go check out. While I'm checking out I can hear the employee tell the manager some of what was going on and that I wanted to talk. As I was scanning I could see the manager standing there... I finished up, started walking, made eye contact and you could tell I was upset and ready to go... the manager said "Have a good day" Take this as a learning lesson and do better as if me the shopper was your mom, sister, wife etc. trying to make a quick trip for formula... read more

Unhelpful staff. My daughter visited this store to purchase household items. After checkout, the Target paper bag broke and her groceries fell onto the floor. Several employees were nearby and aware of what happened, but none of them offered assistance and she was completely ignored. A young customer, who had difficulty walking due to a foot problem, was the only person who stepped in to help her. This was very disappointing. Please provide additional in-service training to your staff regarding customer assistance and responsiveness. read more

Target is always fun to shop at. I usually end up spending way too much. :-) My experience has usually been pretty normal, always friendly customer service. However, this one day.....cashier Alyssa--who was not even my cashier-- decided to make a rude comment when she shouldve just minded her own business and kept checking out her own customers. I brought my dog inside and he barked at someone and she jumped. Keep in mind that my cashier was an older lady who was very friendly and asked me about my dog and was smiling and kind. Alyssa, was a younger girl with long brown hair. Her rude comment was that I shouldn't have brought a mean dog like that to the store. I tried to respond by saying hes usually not mean and i kept talking-- and she turns her back on me and ignores what im saying. Completely rude and immature. So she involved herself in a situation that didn't involve her then when I responded she turns her back? Make up your mind, girl. You want to be tough then run off? She needed to mond her own business and get back to work. There were like 10 dogs in the store today, its Christmas eve. Were all in the Christmas spirit except the grinch, Alyssa. I immediately reported her to customer service. I spent almost $600 that day and definitely dont expect immature customer service like that. Target, please coach your younger staff on being respectful. They need to take a lesson from the older staff who still have respect and manners. I needed to but tv and was late getting to the store, the closing in 20 minutes. I notice someone wearing a Target uniform standing isle shouting we are closed. I replied to Randy name pinned to his Target shirt- it was just announced we have 20 minutes to which shouted leave. Target is honestly a really nice store compared to most other big box retailers. The stores are always pretty clean and well organized which makes shopping alot more enjoyable. You always go in for one thing and somehow come out spending like $200, they definitly know what their doing lol. The prices are abit higher then Walmart but the quality and experience makes it worth it imo. The Target brand stuff like Good and Gather is actualy suprisingly good, especially the food products. The cloths section has gotten alot better over the years to. The app and target circle rewards program is realy useful and saves you a decent amount if you rember to use it. Pickup and delivery options are super convienent and usualy pretty acurate with your order. Only complaint is some locations can feel understaffed and finding help isnt always easy. Checkout lines can get long to on busy weekends. Overall id give it a 4/5, its just a genuinly pleasent shopping experience compared to most other stores. Watch out for the new security guard Randy. Not sure how long he's been there but I have never seen him before and I go there regularly. He likes to racial profile people of color. He will ask to see your receipt but won't ask others. Caught him telling someone after he asked me that they didn't have to show him their receipt. Haven't felt this uncomfortable in a Target in years. This was my favorite Target to go to but not anymore. Changed my one star to a three just because some of the employees there are really great. Us to always feel welcomed at my local Target and CVS pharmacy until now. Thanks Randy! Updated to say that I am now purchasing things at Walmart instead of target because of their ridiculous 10 items or less for self check out. The best news is I saved $18 buying the same stuff at Walmart see photo below. I also ran into two other shoppers, who no longer shop at target because of the crappy policy of 10 items or less in self check out. This is an incredibly well-stocked and very immaculate, spotless target I no longer live down here but while at the chiropractor, I wanted to pick up laundry and a few little birthday items for my daughter. I always hit the self check out because it's typically faster easier and I don't have to wait in the line. I get all the way through my $311 purchase when I noticed one of the items requires a security tag being removed. I had tried to approach a couple employees and finally had to stop one who was zipping by me to ask her to remove the tag, she barked at me that I should get in line at the counter for customer service for them to take the tag off mind you there are six people in the line so I sat off to find another employee to take the offending item off of my receipt because I wasn't going to wait in a six person line when I ran into the manager who had watched the interaction with his employee he said that's why I turned around to talk to you I heard it and I said why should I have to stand in a line and he said oh you don't have to wait in that line you can go around all those people, but you still have to come up to the counter. Mind you on the 10 self check out they have there is not one sign or notification that you cannot get the tags taken off at the register, or that you need to go to a separate counter, where most people are going to assume they need to stand in line and not cut in front of other people. I mention the lack of signage, and ask how long the policy has been that I now have to go wait in a second line, which seems to be counterproductive to the self check out being expedient. He apologized and was incredibly polite. I had a phenomenal experience with him, but I can imagine a lot of people are going to be waiting in this line to get the tags taken off. They also need to get signage off telling people they will no longer help them out the registers with security tags. I think this is some bullshit. read more

A large amount of parents have been attempting to get things for their kids at these stores and most places are doing the right thing, today will be a prime example on what not to expect when you enter a target in hopes of getting something for your child! WEDNESSDAY March 26th 5:49 pm The day I entered this fateful target I was looking to get some Pokemon product for an upcoming birthday aswelll as my own family's needs, I brought my spouse in with me ect so we can get more for the kids right? Well as soon as I met the counter and this employee and his unruly attitude it was going to be a issue from the beginning it was clear, he refused to let me see everything that was in the boxes he then continued to say there are no current sets but journey together, and that he knew nothing about Pokémon so he couldn't help me, but the kids are going for prismatic so I insisted that he looked for prismatic because I had just seen someone leave with a single tin, I then proceeded to bring it to his attention that he was acting illegitimate, this then continued to him calling multiple managers and trying to kick me out of the store and ended up trying to call me and my spouse a scalper. He said we are reselling the product ect. To our faces he blatantly insulted us and called us names, put a mask on to hide his face after this as well. He limited us per household one item, when he had sold 2 of every item not even moments before, sales records at the customer service register will show this. From this point we had only gotten a measly few product and kicked out of the line, mind you this is only after managers came over and allowed us to when I told him to call a manager because I said he was full of you know what! We make our purchase and move on with our day only to come back and see him selling to a couple of the same household like he said we could not. He also had prismatic product hidden underneath a huge box of blister packs. I spotted this all happening on my way out and said something about it and he just hid his face more and flipped me off as I left. Sadly he failed to notice us sitting and watching him as my souse browsed last minute home decor, while he was selling to all his friends as they each individually came him he individually retrieved their product and got it ready for them to purchase, this being the hidden product he refused to sell us. LETS ADRESS POSSIBLE RACISM He did not sell to anyone that was not his own race, or around his own age, anyone not his race was met with denial, an Caucasian couple and an South African couple were turned away with us to the same thing, both of our parties each watched this young man do this, and all the time he just glared at us because he knew we was getting caught. Both of us leaving and feeling visibly upset discussed this, I was waiting for their yelp review to post but they have not yet sadly so I will be the one to do so, photos attached are related to this incident, we are not "scalping" as this employee inappropriately used. this target is pretty big! i live in rwc and usually go to the one in rwc, but i frequent this area a lot b/c of sprouts and crumbl (not in rwc), so i will often drop by here if i need some things. this target definitely has a larger selection of clothing, food, household products and seasonal items. sometimes i get overwhelmed and swallowed up by a larger store, but i do enjoy walking around a bit more to browse the additional offerings. one thing i noticed was that this location gives out samples! that was a first for me, getting a sample of corn chips upon entering. maybe other target stores will follow and start offering samples? plentiful parking in the dedicated lot, although for me, i usually park across the st and walk over. easy peasy. this target is in a super convenient area, with lots of other retail across the street (on all 3 sides) and conveniently located near 280/85 and saratoga ave. read more

This is my favorite Target in the West San Jose area. It's two stories and has a large selection of products. I love how I can walk into the store and go into the men's Beauty section immediately and get everything that I need. I also love how efficient and fast their drive-up service is. I order through the app for drive up at least several times a month and my order is always correct. The downside about this target is that it's super busy and sometimes the checkout lanes are very long. I tried to avoid the peak hours but it seems like it's busy all day lol. But I would still go to this location because it does have a really good selection of products. read more

Never been to a 2-level Target, thus it was my first-time visiting Westgate Target. I think they need to improve the signage. I was looking for men's wear. I read it's located on 2nd level. When I got to upstairs, signs on both sides of escalators were exactly the same. When I got to downstairs, I saw a customer flagged an employee to unstuck a cart on the cart escalator. What the #&$'"? Okay. It was during the holiday season. I can't blame on discount items were sold out. But I want to praise on the displays near greeting cards and produce sections. They were very attractive and appetizing. The reason I came here was to adjust a purchase to match up $60 in order to get $20 reward. Employee was very helpful and he understood exactly what I needed. And, I didn't need to visit the restroom. They all have the same features across the country. read more

It's been a positive experience at this location. I get into town late most of the time so the extra hour this store is open makes life easier and options are good. Employees are friendly and appear happy. Last wk I was at self check out and read something on the monitor about a "circle club". No one was manning self check out so I approach someone who I believe was the manager. He appeared to be closing out a register for the day. With discounts in mind I looked on line and tried to set up or join the marketing program. In a rushed state I struggled so I asked for help and apologized. He took his time and used my phone to expedite the on-line process. NO eye ball rolling, looking irritated and instead patiently stood close by until my purchase was completed. He didn't make me feel rushed and then pointed out the program rewarded 15 for a future purchase (total score) in addition to a fair discount received for that day's purchase. If I had a manager with this level of professionalism it would give me a peace of mind, confidence and trust that he'd always be consistent. read more

Went to mainly get an umbrella with my son we were getting a few things. I had to look for someone to help us where they would be. Each person seemed busy stocking and would say maybe it's over there. After 3 employees that seem to only care to stock bc they were prob told to not talk to customers. Found a lady upstairs push a rack. She hardly spoke English and prob works in the back in shipping. She understood me and personally got in the elevator with us and brought us right to the umbrellas. When I use to wk retail we helped customers. If it wasn't my department I would say that but I will try to help or find someone who can. What happened to customer service? Everything is gone up and no one helps u. A girl from shipping has to help me. This is a big store. And no employees waking around to help customers. Just stock and make u feel ur in the way. We've been long-time Target Circle members and loyal shoppers, but this experience was really disappointing. We recently purchased a coffee machine, and it arrived with a visible dent where the top and bottom parts meet -- the alignment is off and looks slightly deformed. It's upsetting to see such poor product handling and quality control from this Target store. This isn't the level of care or reliability we've come to expect as long-time customers. I just drove here for specific items that showed as "In Stock" at this store in the Target mobile app. All of my local stores showed the items as "Out of Stock" or "Limited Stock" so I drove all the way here instead. The handful of times I've been to this particular target they seem to be out of certain inventory or perhaps they don't receive as much as other target locations? I can never find an employee to help me, and on this particular occasion, there were a handful of people working the target takeout line, but nobody had a single cash register! I needed to buy a gift card and pressed the help button and waited five minutes for some employee to come back after lunch who wasn't even in that department and then he helped me before going back to the target takeout line! I don't think I'll go back to this target again just because there's too many problems plus the parking lot is a little chaotic since it's attached to a mall and there's always a car accident or two in front on that weird intersection where Prospect changes into Hamilton and Campbell Avenue. BEAWARE of the prices and ALWAYS take pictures! Never correct in home section, books, kids, pets etc! By far the most dirtiest and unorganized target, I had to call corporate to let them know what's going on. Their prices are never correct and if you are dealing with LaRoy very cocky sassy "manager" good luck. That didn't see a manager on duty with kindness or customer service experience. I found a book with incorrect price. He sent an another employee to go upstairs and check and telling him over the radio that price was moved. And despite showing a picture to him, when cocky person doesn't understand logic customer service and how retail works, there is no point talking to him. For him to tell me " I would love to have that picture too" well maybe as a "manager" instead of sending an employee, you would have taken your lazy self upstairs and look at all your books and prices being incorrect BECAUSE that's what's "managers" do! They take care of their customers! And You sure didn't do any of that! You are there just for paycheck. It's easy to stand at the front shaking your hands around acting like a "boss" but not doing your job! And delegating youngsters to do your job! Anyone can have that position! You service is horrible at guest services and you treat people like garbage during return process I have seen it, just by waiting for my Starbucks order! This is not just about the book, I can go online and buy the book. It's constantly prices being incorrect and they don't like being called out on their mistake. This location has been convenient when it comes to getting my curbside pickup goods! The parking lot here is always busy and packed, making it hard to enter and leave the parking lot. I'm nearly always guaranteed a curbside pickup parking spot, and the process is faster than it takes to park! I came here to pick up my Christmas gifts I ordered online, and within a couple of minutes I was getting my bags packed in the trunk of my car. The app makes it so easy to get everything you need and it's cheaper than shipping to your home address! I love curbside pickup when it's available. The staff are nice and efficient when it comes to bringing out the orders, and you'll never be left waiting for longer than 5 minutes. As long as you follow the directions, it's a great option. This location indoors hasn't always been the best when it comes to inventory or it's been empty on some shelves and areas, but the service is always splendid. Thank you for all your help! read more

I enjoyed this target, they have many things to buy. I usually come here during the weekend. The staffs are so helpful, they answered all questions. There are many foreigners around here , because they all want to enjoy the Christmas, and want to experience what the Christmas look like in United States. If you come to San Jose, Cupertino, most of the times you will see someone who couldn't speak English well or have accents, but the Staffs will always listens to their concerns , and provide assistant. I love me some TARGET!! But.... not all locations rub me the right way. This Saratoga location, however, certainly does. This Target store is quite a drive for me but always comes through whenever I stop by. It is always tidy, fully stocked, and never disappoints. I easily find myself getting lost in all of the departments and aisles. Sales are always going down which is a great but I always end up walking away and spending way more than I anticipate. On Christmas Eve on website said open until 8 pm. When I arrived at 7:15 doors near customer service were locked and customers were told to walk all the way to other entrance. I was able to do some shopping but could not finish. Cashier supervisor made announcement that if we were not in line by 8 pm we could not purchase our items. I had to sneak in a line to purchase my items. Many customers had to leave empty handed. Cashier supervisor even told employees to block the aisles to make sure no one else got in line to purchase . I asked Jessica the supervisor if it was standard operating practice for target to turn away paying customers. She didn't answer. I had to leave not getting the gift cards I needed for my Christmas Eve party. So disappointed. read more

I arrived at the Target at Westgate in San Jose, CA at 9:20pm (40 minutes before closing). I get to the return area with 2 large boxes of diapers and the employee states that they stop doing returns at 9pm. I asked to speak to a manager and that employee directed me across to the "order pickup" area, so I start walking across the building with my returns (doesn't even call the manager over). I arrive there and the manager "Le Roy" states he will not accept my return and that "Safeway stops doing returns 2 hours before closing." Last I checked, Safeway was a grocery store, not a general merchandise retailer (and who returns groceries?!).  I would have understood if return hours are different than store hours and it's posted somewhere, but this is the first time I've heard Target has separate return hours and those hours are not listed anywhere. So Target corporate, please correct me if I'm wrong or please start posting your new return hours. I'm a full-time working parent that only has time to return items at night, once my child is down for the night so this was such a huge inconvenience. Customer services is a thing of the past at retailers like Target. I explained my situation to them and they sent me away regardless. They continued ringing people up on those same registers that could have easily processed my returns. Do better Target. P.S. Please clean those dirty restrooms from time to time, they're often disgusting.
