Ya know, I'd like a way to separate the Starbucks in Target from the Target itself. Unfortunately, the two are intrinsically bonded. That's too bad for the Target, I guess. TARGET Man, this Target deserves four stars. The only downside is the occasional really long line and that the grocery section is out of certain products more often than I'd like. But the store is clean, deals are great, and I love having a Target Grocery section nearby. STARBUCKS And we get to the dark underbelly. I'm freshly bitter, as I just received a "fresh-brewed pour-through" that was full of bitter coffee grounds. I'm a black coffee, one Splenda kind of guy. I ordered and asked about the blends. She listed Anniversary, Blonde, and Pike's. The last few times, I got Pikes. This time, I went for Anniversary. "It has to be a pour-through, as we only have Pike's brewed right now. Is that okay?" Uhhh, sure. I'm in no hurry. She apparently was. I got the coffee in about a minute and a half. She warned me to "be careful! It's an extra bold blend!" Sweet. I like my coffee like I like my women: black and bold. Hell yes. So, I pop off the top to add a Splenda and I can see a thick layer of coffee grounds. Meanwhile, I can see the evil girl and her coworker looking at me and giggling. Ahhh, I see. You are bitter because I ordered a single brew at 8:30 pm. I know it's late, but isn't your job to make coffee? And if you didn't want to make a pour through, why didn't you just say that only Pike's was available? It would've made no difference to me. And though I may be overreacting to a bad cup of coffee by writing five paragraphs, let's look at the end result of the mess: almost a quarter inch of coffee grounds in the cup after I filtered it at home. If I wanted to deal with that crap, I would have used my leaky french press. read more

I love Target. Seriously, LOVE it. Where else can you come in with the intention of buying only toothpaste and leave $200 poorer with bags of toiletries, video games, snacks, boxed wine, and coffee filters? This Target in particular has been quite good to me. Very clean, organized (that's why I hate WalMart, an unorganized HOT MESS!), and is always stocked with what I need. When the Wii was "un-gettable", the BF and I strolled in one evening and found that they randomly had it in stock. Awesome. read more

This is my Target of choice. It's the closest one to where I live and it doesn't get as crazy as the other one's I've been to. For the most part, it's very well organized and stocked. Not only that, but it's in the same plaza as the TJ's, so it's a one stop shop plaza for me. read more

Spacious, organized and clean like it should be. Lots of parking out front; I usually get one close by, but the traffic is a bit congested at times since there are so many stores in this plaza. I enjoy coming to this Target as it is situated in a plaza along with many other small shops and food places. The parking lot here tends to be busy, but I can always find something either way. I'm not reviewing this Target because I think there is something especially wonderful about this place (although it is a rather nice Target). I'm reviewing it because I think Yelp needs a product review function. If they have one, let me know. Target has recently (well I'm not sure how recently it was--I haven't been in Target for a long time) developed a line of healthy gourmet snacks and foods called Archer Farms. Almost everything I've tried by them has not been a disappointment! Very good granola snacks, cookies, and crackers. I wouldn't do my grocery shopping at Target, but since the Trader Joe's near there is almost done, I can definitely see stopping by there for some granola when I do my shopping there. read more

Forget wading through a large and busy parking lot. Forget the VIP section for those driving vehicles from Tesla Motors. Forget swimming through the homeless that call this Target, "home." All that I can deal with. But I'm sorry, Coleman Target, I can't give you my recommendation. While today's Saturday afternoon stroll was kinda the "final straw," it's still representative of most visits I've made here. Here's how it goes when you want to shop for product at Coleman Target. Other Yelpers have lamented over the shopping cart situation. I can attest to this as well. But forget carts for the moment -- let's talk baskets. One walks in -- no baskets. Since baskets are not found outside, at least you don't have to go outside to search for them. However, it is telling when you have to get your basket from someone who just finished checking out. For the shopping experience, one could say that this is a typical "run-of-the-mill" Target in terms of product -- that is to say if this Target could keep product stocked on the shelves (I thought this was one of Target's specialties). As I was "milling around" this Target, I was consistently confronted with shelves either not fully stocked, or simply out of product. The checkout experience was really the final straw. I get it. It's a Saturday. It's busy. Lots of shoppers. Fine. On this particular visit, I ended up in a typical line - at least three shoppers ahead of me. To Target's credit, at least they are running most of their registers. Fast-forward to ten minutes later -- the customer at the front of the line when I queued was still at the front of line kibitzing with the cashier over something. I don't know what it was. All I know is that her cart was full, and for ten minutes the cashier was dealing with a payment issue -- before finally calling in a manager to "help." Well, I had already been in a non-moving line for ten minutes, so I 23-skidoo'd out of that line, into another line. Same experience. Line was held up by who knows what. Finally, the cashier had to call a manager to "help." Eventually said issue got cleared up and I finally got to the front of the line (10 minutes later). At which point my transaction was promptly complete within one minute. Questions for Target: 1) Why aren't you training your staff to gracefully handle customers with "issues" who are holding up lines? 2) You're paying your cashiers San Jose's exorbitant minimum wage. Why aren't they skilled enough to handle things and make the line move? 3) Why isn't there a "special needs" line for customers with bad credit, coupons and or a disposition for arguing over price? 4) Why can't you move product faster and increase your sales throughput? Question for the city of San Jose: 1) You're making Target pay their cashiers, at minimum, $13.50 per hour. As a consumer who's inconvenienced by incompetent workers with zero skills, I'm more likely to do my shopping online in the future, or simply go on my shopping sprees in the charming Campbell community. Or just go to the Walmart in Milpitas... P.S. As I was leaving, I think the first line I was in still wasn't moving. read more

Seriously. This target ROCKS THE HOUSE!!!! I have been going here since they opened!!! Abundant parking in the lot!!! They always have everything in their weekly ads in stock. Great selection of merchandise, too! Need that Missoni suit with a trendy Mizrahi bag? They'll have it!!! Well, kinda ... This in one of the only stores in the Bay Area to carry the "high-end" labels (albeit for an EXTREMELY short period of time, like three hours!!!). From cat food to milk to a spatula to throw pillows, toys, to Rain X products, they have you covered. Good selection of produce and EXCELLENT price of Bass Beer ... $12.42 for a 12 pack!!! This is by far the biggest, nicest, cleanest, most organized Target I've been too. The parking lot is even big, clean, nice and has plenty of room for parking, people and carts - at the same time. I have managed to find everything I've ever looked for, everything I didn't need while looking and anything in between. I love the prices and selection - especially if you aren't looking to spend a fortune. Sure the help there isn't top notch, but they have a lot of registers and people running around, you're either bound to find what you are looking for or get out of there pretty quick through the lines. There is also a pizza hut and a starbucks if you are fiending for caffeine or grease! Lots of other stores around to complete your shopping as well and easy to get to in general. read more

Target has a dirty little secret. I don't know how they do it, but I come here for 1-2 items and I leave with my arms full of bags. How can one store have everything I ever want? WOW! I'm in love with this target! It's the best one I've ever been to! No parking madness like in Cupertino, or annoying split floor like they have in Sunnyvale! It has a wide open floor plan, bright, spacious, clean and the shelves are all neatly and fully stocked. I purchased $44 worth of food then a storage box of $12.99. After I swiped my Ebt card, da cashier(Angeles) was only asking for 20 cents. I was like R U sure? Then I was trying to show her da storage box...Did u scanned this? She said Yes! I knew something went wrong. I could had paid her 20cents n left w/ a free storage box but I'm not one of those customers. She turned on da light for assistance for few seconds then turned back off. She wants to scan all da items all over again. I said No. Can U enter da code on da storage box manually? (She tried) Then here comes da Asian supervisor. As far as Targets go, this is kind of on the lower end. I love Target, but you go there for 1) the prices; 2) the variety of merchandise; and 3) the fact that the layout is nearly the same at all Targets. For some reason, the layout of this Target is all bass-ackwords, making it more difficult than it should be to find things. This isn't a Super Target, Greatland, or even a two-story one. In fact, the only thing this particular Target has going for it is that it is in a rather large shopping center so you can get everything else you need. read more

This Target is a fucking joke. I went here to get a movie that I was buying for a gift. I called to make sure they had some in stock before driving out there to check. They said they had 21 of them in stock. So I was thrilled and ran to the store to get it. The person told me on the phone said it was $7.50 As I went up to the cash register I was ringed up and the movie came to $15.00!! I was furious because I was told on the phone it was $7.50 - the guy at the register was going to give it to me for $11.50 and I told him no it was $7.50. He said he had to call his manger so whatever I said ok and after waiting and waiting he finally comes and scans it and says sorry it's $15. I told him over and over that the person on the phone told me spefically that it was $7.50 He said no and that I was wrong. I am so beyond mad and I didn't like his attitude. I mean come on!! I will be calling cop office tomorrow about this situation because I was told the wrong information and not treated as a nice customer. Well, after shopping at Wal-Mart, Ross and Savers for most of my goodies, I decided it was time to give Target another try. You see, one of their Sacramento locations and one location in Reno turned me off from this chain for a long time. I figured that the new one, which is closest to home, would be the quickest to get to on a Friday around lunch time, even though I have to take city streets the whole way. Getting there was a breeze. The parking lots are clearly marked so you know when to turn. That's awesome and a bonus star for the shopping center. Though, there's no dedicated turn lane, so I almost got smashed by a cargo truck. That's San Jose for ya. Parking is ample and appears well lit, though I went during the day. The only thing is that you have to drive past the storefront to get the best parking, which means you have to dodge hobbling old ladies and countless children running in front of your car. Once you're inside, it's nice. I didn't care much for the two security guards, but that's okay since they didn't harass me and they were dressed nicely. Kudos to the rent-a-cop agency that works this place. This place is bigger than it looks, which is AWESOME. I have seen so many locations that have the exact same inventory but in a building half the size. With this one, the lighting is great and the aisles are wide. The floors are still in good condition, relatively shiny and are pretty darn slip-proof, at least when dry. I went to get a coffee maker. One in particular. Hamilton Beach BrewStation Deluxe. It's a digital, programmable, thermal carafe model, which means it holds the coffee in an internal tank, without a hotplate. Your coffee won't get burnt if it sits in there a while (since I sip it all day) and the water won't evaporate off over time. Plus, you can't break the carafe because it's not glass. Lastly, it doesn't use Teflon, which is a must for me because I'm a parrot owner and the fumes from Teflon are extremely toxic to them. Believe it or not, they had it! Not exactly the black and stainless color I wanted, but the plain black will do just fine. Just so long as its not white, beige, avocado, firetruck red or neon yellow, I'm happy. This was after searching two Wal-Marts (Story Rd, Monterrey Rd) and a Kohl's (E Hamilton Ave). I was about to have to buy this thing online and pay the same price after shipping. Bravo, Target, bravo! They also had a nice selection of coffee grinders, which was very welcome. Most department stores carry one or two cheap grinders, but Target had four. Yes, three were $10-$20 cheap models with the two blades. They work, I suppose, but bladed models don't give consistent grind sizes and they're not selectable. For $30, I got a Black & Decker Stainless Coffee Bean Mill. It'll grind and ALSO STORES up to 14 cups worth of beans. Plus, it grinds with a mixture of burrs and crushing wheels, which means it's adjustable on the grind size setting and it'll last a long time. Now for the gripes. * Prices were a little higher than I'm used to. Yes, I shop discount. The point is that I did pay a little under 10% more to get my goodies, as compared to Wal-Mart. In Target's defense, the experience was well worth the money. I didn't have to fight to walk in a straight line through the store, I wasn't worried about people stealing my wallet and I didn't have to smell raunchy folks as they crowded each aisle with me. Also, on-site security was much nicer than showing my receipt to a high-school dropout who doesn't speak English, just to leave the store. * The landscaping is just a little bare still. More plants would have been nice outside, especially some large shade trees in the parking lot. Newly paved asphalt gets hot pretty quickly on an average day with direct sunlight. * Their customers are idiots here, just like everywhere else. You'd think by moving up in price range, the people would be less idiotic. No, sorry. A lady in a store-owned electric wheelchair (who wasn't disabled) cut in front of me in line at checkout. I normally would have given her my spot, but I didn't have a cart and was holding a large coffee maker, large coffee grinder, two insulted travel mugs, a box of coffee filters, a Pur water filter and a large bag of coffee beans. I like Target, it's a lot better than Wal-Mart. It carries a good variety of clothes for men and women. Plus they always have clearance deals if you know where to look! Although some of the prices may be a bit higher than Wal-Mart, the quality is so much better. Plus, there's always a good plaza around Target. read more

I have a bone to pick with you Target. Not this Target in particular but Target's in general. You used to be my go-to place. I could always find my deodorant, my shampoo/conditioner/body wash, and my cheap-o-undies. Now however, you've gone astray. WHY, I ASK YOU, IS THE BODY WASH 6 ISLES AWAY FROM ALL THE OTHER BATHROOM/SHOWER NECESSITIES?! Your identity has become confused as you are becoming more "walmart-y" every day. Quality is decreasing in an effort to keep prices low, and you know what? That really bothers me. I don't shop at Walmart for a reason. My go to target. I don't know what it is about this one, with its the Target I feel at home at. It's clean, organized and has a large selection of vegan foods. Sometimes the lines can be long but it's gotten better since the self service lines they put in last summer. The staff is generally friendly and the customers generally polite. The location is great! I have been going to this Target for years. It is pretty spacious and clean compared to the other Targets in San Jose that I've been too. There's never a mess here and it's great for when you know what you need so you can get in and get out. The lines are never an issue; although sometimes they can get long, they dwindle down fairly quickly. There is also a nice Starbucks inside of it that is pretty clean. The workers in Target as well as the Starbucks are always very nice and not pushy. Favorite Target in San Jose for sure! read more

I will give zero star if I can. Long waiting line, and I greet the cashier. She has no expression at all, which it's fine, everybody can have a bad day. After I swipe my card, and want to double check if she give me the recycle bag discount. She didn't say anything. And when she give me the receipt, fold it and hand to me. I like this Target because its close to my work.( I work downtown on N 1st) The downside the parking lot can be a nightmare! The shopping center this Target is located in has a lot of stores so the parking is shared with them. I heart this Target! It's my favorite one. It's newer and they have a Starbucks inside with a nice seating area. They also carry all of the latest and greatest things, especially the featured designers who make special lines for Target. My favorite sections (almost the whole store): - womens clothing - like I said, they have all of the "X designer for Target" here, also a lot of cute Converse brand dresses - womens activewear - great stuff from Champion. Sports bras and knee length capris are my workout/yoga staples - home organization - love all of the different rubbermaid and sterlite bins - media/books - did you know that magazines are 10% off cover price? - bed/bath - LOVE Thomas O'Brien towels - home decor - they always feature something new and cool looking to spruce up your place - grocery - great frozen food assortment in case you need some quick lunches at work - cleaning products - this is where I buy my Method soap and laundry stuff - beauty/personal care - they carry any and every moisturizer and the "Boots" line as well as a ton of natural and organic stuff Yes, I love it here. read more

I would rather come here than Walmart. I love the $1 at the front of the store. Easy to locate what you need. I never had to ask for help where products are. If I did, they led me to it right away, that I don't remember needing the help. The only thing that I don't like is that their return policy. (w/o receipt) Only 2 per year, so I end up having to ask my friend to return 2 for me. The online registry doesn't link to the store either, so if you do registry online, the store can't zap it in the registry that it has been bought at the store than online. read more

I am only comparing this Target location to the Fremont and Newark ones, since those are the only other locations that I've visited. For grocery shopping, I LOVE this Target, they always seem to be stocked up with my favorite goodies and fridge essentials. The value of the Market Pantry brand groceries saves me hundreds of dollars on groceries every month. I am very pleased with the quality and quantity that you get in every product that Market Pantry makes. As for the clothing department, there is always my size available, which is great, and the clearance department is huge, and not as messy as you would think. The only complaint I have is the dressing room. Talk about a mess. I went into the dressing room and on the floor was a million coat hangers and ripped off tags from clothes that apparently someone stole from the store. Stealing is what drives prices up on clothing and just about anything in the store, so unless you plan on stealing EVERYTHING you own through your whole life, you will be affected by your own stupidity and basically pay back every penny from the 20 dollar outfit you stole because you "ain't got no money". There's a little Starbucks inside, which I don't really care for since the prices are too high and the girl dropped my muffin on the floor and it was the last one they had. Ugh. Overall, the place is pretty nice, not too ghetto, some evidence of theft here and there around the store, but not bad. read more

-The location of this Target is great; close to down town. They have a boat load of parking too. -It's typically well stocked, it's only been once or twice where I haven't been able to find what I need it and I come here usually once a week. -I love their dollar section stuff. I can always buy a bunch a books for my son and not feel guilty if he destroys them. Today I got a really awesome desk organizer for $2.50. woo hoo (They usually go for $7+ at office depot) -My only gripe with this Target is that they don't have as many clothes for toddler boys as they do for girls. The only Target that seems to have equal amounts is the one near Morril/Park Victoria. -The staff here is great. I once lost my wallet and customer service kept it safe and they were extremely friendly and competent. I would give this Target 4 Stars but I'm giving it an extra star because the Starbucks inside is never disappointing. I really like this Target store! One of the reasons is that it is a clean store! The staff does a great job of keeping the store well kept. The staff also seems friendly in this store. The shelves are also well stocked with merchandise and organized very nicely. The only criticism I have is that since it is a fairly popular store, the parking lot at times gets packed. Particularly during the lunch hour when the lunch goers descend into the plaza. There are a number of popular eateries that share this shopping area with Target. But if you do find yourself during those busy times, just be patient. Enjoy shopping! read more
