We were near this location running a few errands and got the bright idea to see if we could pick up some take out. Took about 15 minutes to order two child's plate chicken tika masala of the mild variety ( only way they will prepare it) and walk in, pay and leave. We found out you can order off the child's menu if you don't want huge portions, you just can't adjust the spice level. I like it with a little more heat but what we got was timely and very tasty and very affordable. Wifey and I think we may be doing this more often, yum. Anything on the kid's menu comes with a fountain drink or juice. This place is a go to for me and the wife. The kids usually want something bland, since they are young so we decided to make two stops and man, was that the right choice. We take home from here a few times a month. It is consistently great! My wife almost always gets the Tikka Masala and it is wonderful. I try to get something new every time and love every time. The cashier came up to us after and said they usually don't do that but she said she'll let it happen this time..I explained to her the other location usually never says anything and we didn't know that they couldn't. This was my first experience with Indian food whatsoever. Proportions were great, I only finished half of my food and got full...saving the rest for later. Was pleasantly surprised. First time trying this place bc our "typical" Indian restaurant was closed that day. If you are a new customer and sign up on their website, you get a free appetizer (which we took advantage of). Husband got Tiki masala, and I got korma Kofta, both came with rice. We got samosas as an app, and also wanted to try the tiki masala fries. Honestly, how has nobody thought of tiki masala fries until now? They were so good! Definitely a favorite. I had some bites of my husband's tiki masala, it was delicious. And normally I'm not a huge fan of tiki masala but the way that tarka makes it was delicious. My Kofta is like a white sauce with dumplings eaten with rice. It was a bit more on the mintier side, which I was not expecting. I am not a huge fan of mint, but it was pretty good regardless and I ate the entire thing. Both my husband and I got it on the most mild spice level, because we've had experiences in the past where even mild is a bit spicy. But here, mild means no spice whatsoever. So next time, we will definitely have our spice level a little bit higher. All in all, we had a really good experience with the food and would definitely consider eating there again. read more

My review is limited to the food, since we didn't end up eating at the restaurant. We ordered takeout from this spot on Saturday evening, and the amount of chicken in both the korma dish and in the tikka masala dish was surprisingly poor. The biryani dish did have a fair amount of chicken, but the food was cooked unevenly. The rice was somehow clumpy and unattractive. The korma was not too sweet, and would have been a winner, but it felt like half the chicken was missing. The saving grace was the vegetable samosas, which were delectable. The song paneer dish was also adequate, and had a good amount of cheese for the price. If you're looking for Indian takeout, I recommend that you try the location off Anderson before ordering from the Cedar Park location. read more

Absolute GEM!!! My fav restaurant. Filling, delicious food for great prices. I always get hot aloo gobi with masala fries (about $10) and usually end up with leftovers. Also, the sodas are unique! My favorite is the pineapple cream soda. They're fun to mix too. :) The restaurant is laid out nicely. There are half booths, bar stools and tables. My boyfriend and I like to sit at the bar stools because they face a big window, so it's the perfect spot for people watching! The staff is always polite. Being Indian and Indian food close to heart I found this place is so low on quality that I literally left my food after 2 bytes. I hate complaining it to server as they just serving what is being handover to them from kitchen. I could tell the food served to me was either the frozen food which you can get at any Indian grocery stores in the frozen food section or it was made few days ago, bread was pathetic and for sure it was frozen as the warmth of food wasn't there at all when you get something fresh cooked from kitchen. So if you in mood to eat Indian and choose to go to this place rather go to Indian grocery store which is across the street from this place and pick from frozen food section and microwave at home than wasting money at the place. read more

Tarka is delicious. The only reason that it doesn't get more stars is because it can be very inconsistent. I say 3/5 times our experience is great (I'm only talking about the food. The customer service is always great.). The other 2/5 times the food tastes like it was leftovers from the previous day. The main example is there tika masala.
