Came here for some eats after another beach day Saturday and I was please with the spot, it's located on a marina on the Gulf. They were busy, which is always a good sign, so there was a 20 minute wait because I wanted sit outside on the marina, but they give you a buzzer to hold for when your table is ready, I sat at the bar and had a Green Tea shot until then, which was good. I had the crab soup as an appetizer and is was very creamy and delicious. I had the Chicken Marsala topped with sautéed mushrooms and Loaded Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Mashed potato's came out a little cold, but it was all good..I was sitting outside anyways. The vibe was laid back with live music to listen to throughout your whole meal, the live singer sounded really good, and just sung over music than having a band. First of all we've generally had pretty good service and food here. But last night was a disaster, and I don't know if they have new management or something. We sat at the inside bar, and had drinks that were subpar. Then we order an appetizer for the four of us and our meal to come later. Almost an hour before the bartender came over and explained ohh I accidentally put your order on hold. It's in the kitchen now and they are fast. Then the meal came out which was definitely not up to the quality we've experienced in the past. The bartender did offer to buy us TWO beers, and she said the manager said dessert is in him. The midway through the meal our appetizer came out. When we finished our meal the bartender said we have these options for dessert, I ordered first a piece of carrot cake. She said ok then walked away without asking the other three? Yep that's right the free dessert the manager so graciously offered for us waiting an hour for meal and all was one piece of cake for Four people. Really an awful experience! read more

It's impossible to find fault with Ozona Blue! You are greeted as soon as you step inside and we usually head for the bar. Met a new bartender, for us, named Lauren, and she's perfect! She was friendly, quick with the drinks and ordered our food promptly. These are the qualities that dominate the entire staff here. It's always the perfect place to celebrate, vent or just hang out. We honestly have never had a dish we didn't like and if by some bizarre reason, you got the wrong food or the steak was well done instead of medium rare, whoosh!!!! It's gone and the perfect correction appears! This is a highly recommended business , but just make sure if you sit at the inside bar, vs the outside bar, you save 2 seats for us, oh, and you can swim in the pool outside or dock your boat near the patio! read more

Came here for a birthday dinner and it was a lovely evening! The service was great especially considering we had a fairly large party. I started with the crab soup which had loads of crab in it and was so nice since it was cold out. For my entree I had the Thai glazed mahi mahi which was such a party of flavors and a great portion, I was able to take half home. This place is great for a date night or even a scenic lunch. It's been quite some time since I've been back here, so time for an update. Came here for my friend Lisa's birthday lunch and I was excited to try it out again and hang out by their pool. It's definitely a unique experience to have lunch and a swimming pool at the same place. Coming on a Thursday was great. The pool was relaxing, the water was warm, & the server by the pool was very helpful and made sure everyone was taken care of. That was def the best part. We had a frozona blue drink which was very refreshing and an ice cream sundae. Lunch time, we came right when they first opened at 11. We were the first one there and it quickly filled up. We ordered a ribeye with fries and a crab soup. They were quite enjoyable. Our inside service wasn't great compared to outside. As soon as we would have a question, our server was walking away and it was difficult to track her down for anything. We were deciding upon getting the pineapple creme brûlée for dessert, but we knew that would take forever, so changed our mind. I think 3.5 star average for this restaurant is pretty accurate. I can't do half stars and I would if I could bc the server at the pool was much friendlier and helpful. It was my friend's birthday and I'm glad that we had a good time nevertheless. read more

Oh...and they make a really tasty vodka gimlet...which not a lot of places can do. Great location right on the water w seating inside and out. Food was absolutely amazing! My wife had the seafood pescatore and I had the fillet. Both were delicious! Steak was perfectly cooked (medium) and very tender. Also recommend the garlic mash potatoes for the side. Wife also had the small key lime pie ($6) for dessert which she also enjoyed. Prices might be just a little high, although not outrageous, but the food is worth it. Server was friendly and attentive. Live music was also great in a relaxed atmosphere. Although this restaurant is generally good, there are many times I do not go because of valet parking. I do not like anybody else to park my car. They have very limited self parking and weekends they are unavailable. The only option is to park in the homeport Marina area, which is a hefty walk to the front door. read more

Kinda strange place the restaurant has a pool. It also has an event area with a tent next to the pool. If you are seated outside on one of the sides you are right at the kiddie pool and sunbathers. We watched people swim and a couple get married while waiting on our food . We tried the seafood pescator, the wedge salad add mahi mahi, and the dinosaur short rib. Everything was very tasty. Best bites of the meal were the grilled mahi mahi and the grouper in the pescator. The seafood pescator was a pasta dish with very flavorful tomato sauce, plump shrimp and other yummy seafood. The dinosaur short rib was tender and delish. We bought an entire key lime pie to go and tasted it at home. The crust was excellent and the filling was sweet and tangy. read more

This has to be the best restaurant I have tried so far this week. The five of us thoroughly enjoyed fabulous meals. I had shrimp scampi with linguine. I had mixed vegetable squash and zucchini on the side. Everything was finger, licking good! Someone else had mussels from the appetizer menu which were more than enough for a meal. we also ordered Sicilian flatbread, fish, and chips, and a burger. To take home, we got a whole Keylime pie! This place is very authentic. We sat in the outer room, which was much quieter than the bar area. They had heaters going so we were very comfortable. I definitely go back again. read more

This was my first time at Ozona after I had heard it recommended many times. They had a good wine list and a great menu. I had the shrimp scampi linguine and it was enough for dinner that night +2 to 3 leftover meals. As some other recent reviewers have reported your experience may vary. Front desk staff was friendly, bar staff where we sat to eat and drink seemed to only care about certain guests. My brothers have been here alot and couldn't stop singing their praises but the night we went was a completely different experience. We practically had to do a dance on the bar to get attention to get another drink. (they are not cheap) I was drinking the best vodka they had on site on the rox so a pretty easy drink and i was only able to get one since i couldn't get anyone's attention. One of my brothers was drinking wine and getting about a 2/3rd pour compared to some other people at the bar. Then someone wanted to watch something on the TV and paired their phone to it with some dang bright hockey game they were not paying attention too blinding you at the bar. Went here for the first time with my family for lunch in a Saturday Interesting atmosphere outdoors with a pool, kiddie pool and outside dining near the marina We ordered Crab Rangoon with the mango sauce for an appetizer and it was amazing A new take on that me. The crab was great as well as the sauce. For dinner had mahi and vegetables. Again great sauce and the fish and veggies were awesome. My son had the Philly cheese sandwich and he said it was great The server was excellent and very attentive and prices were very reasonable as well Would definitely go back again We don't have small children but the pool would be great if you did for keeping them busy Plus they had a lifeguard as well If you are in the area definitely worth trying read more

Ozona Blue has been a staple in the Palm Harbor/Dunedin area for a little bit now. We went there for a birthday dinner and had the filet topped with blueberry a bleu cheese. It was cooked at a perfect medium rare. My favorite part is being able to lay by the pool with a margarita in my hand. I was so surprised with Yelp only had this restaurant at 3.6 star. Kara was a wonderful waitress, both patient and knowledgeable. I had the 1 pound peel and eat shrimp hot with butter, my sister's had the fried grouper sandwich and the grilled grouper sandwich and both were fabulous, and we shared a large wedge salad with shrimp which was delicious - all so amazing. I love the fact they have valet parking, and the views of the they were beautiful. It's a very likely place with both inside air-conditioning seating, outside fan seating, and cabana seating. Beers and wines are served in plastic cups Server didn't know the drafts they had, ordered Stella and yengling, both weren't cold enough. Im torn on this one. We've gone to Ozona Blue a few times, and most of the time it's great. Last night was definitely different, and unfortunately, we've watched it trending toward a downward spiral IN SERVICE the last few times we've gone. We generally go of lunch and I usually get the Mediterranean Salad with grilled chicken. Ive always been impressed that they can cook the chicken properly and it's never dry. My husband orders different items and also enjoys them. Last night we went for dinner. As usual, the atmosphere is always enjoyable and they have live music outside. It wasnt too hot out and the inside is SO SO LOUD, that we choose to sit outside. When we were seated we asked the hostess if their was live music and she said no, then sat us at the far deck.....NEXT TO THE MUSICIAN, lololol. Our waitress seemed to have too many tables. She was very unhappy and robotic, and I dont think she wanted to be at work. She wasnt snappy or rude, just didnt seem to like her job or have enough time to "serve" us. She greeted us with menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for water while we look at the drink menu. It was a beautiful night, the weather was nice and the music was lovely so we were going to have a nice cocktail and enjoy our time. she returned awhile later with waters, put them down then quickly turned and left, HAHA!!! She did not even give us a chance to order it was so abrupt and unexpected. But we sat and waited....again, nice night. We watched as she did this same thing to other tables, set things down and ran before anyone could ask for anything else, I guess. (I think she had too many tables, so grace) Finally got some drinks after about 15 mins, yeah, it was a nice night and the music was good. My dirty Martini was perfection, though. Nice and cold and the perfect measure of dirty. Hubby had Spicy margarita, small but good. When she came back for our food order, we asked what kind of oysters they had...they didnt have any. Bummer, it was the main reason we chose Ozona Blue...it was a nice night and the music and Martini was good. I told her I was Gluten Intolerant and it looked like I could order the Mahi Mahi with sun dried tomatoes and artichokes. She agreed and said the only Gluten Free side that I could have were the French Fries, to which I was fine with. Hubby ordered the "short rib dinosaur bone" haha, yes thats what it's called so he couldnt resist. The food runner came with our food and put mine down saying that they had to put the rue on the side because it was NOT gluten free. You know...the artichoke, sun dried tomato part....the reason I ordered the Mahi Mahi....which my waitress failed to mention! So I had a PLAIN grilled fish and French Fries. I asked the runner for some lemon at least and he was kind enough to offer tartar sauce. Nice night....good music...good martini....dont let the lack of care of service get me upset and ruin it...it's just fish. To my delight, the Mahi Mahi was cooked perfectly! A fish which is usually dry and boring was actually very moist and seasoned well, and the tartar sauce and lemon helped add flavor layer. so. My husbands Dinosaur bone was well flavored and tender, but its a very fatty meat so he didnt like the amount of inedible fat there was. Still enjoyed it. I never saw our waitress again after she took our food order. We ate and then decided we'd go inside and have another cocktail at the bar, so I left while hubby waited for the check. Had she returned at any point, I might have mentioned to her that she did failed to tell me the MahiMahi rue was NOT gluten free, and I was thankful the chef, at least, was paying attention. Thats not an oversight one should be careless about. My hubby finally made it inside to the bar and we enjoyed a second cocktail. It was a nice night, the music was good, the martini was perfection, and the fish was moist. read more

The food was great. One meal was surf and turf with mushroom risotto and asparagus on the side. The other meal was the stuffed grouper. Both meals were very good. However, the grouper was a bit over cooked but still good. The service was slow & we were not very attended to as we had to find another server just to refill the drinks after a long wait. The food is not bad but the way it is served is atrocious. My $40.00+juicy fillet shared the plate with a runny risotto creating a combination of a grayish bath for both. Others got fish and chips wet with the coleslaw juices. The chef? was unable to get me a medium rare after 2 trials. Their metal tables were rusty and without tablecloth. Context: $750+ bill, reserved a month in advance. While the food tasted great, the service wasn't the best, we were promised country music via on the phone but when we arrived at the designated time with our party there was no music playing. Our waitress was absent for most of our 4 hour duration and we had to order from a separate waitress. The pool water was not regularly maintained thoroughly enough as the water when tasted accidentally was putrid. The manager was exceptionally rude, en quote: "We gave your party an extra hour, you were supposed to be gone by 5" when we reserved in advance that we were going to be staying until 6. Onto that, our tables were never cleared, not even rarely. We had to clear our own table's food (placing it onto another table adjacent). Happy hour was not as eventful as we wanted, our table wanted to order a dozen or so drinks, 2 after another because it's a BOGO, but because our waitress was so absent from our table we only got to ordering 2 sets of drinks before happy hour ended, and the 2nd set was from an entirely different waitress. Food poisoning happened amongst our party, 3 people got sick. Communication regarding scheduling beforehand was horrible, we never got called back until we called them. Debbie the owner of the establishment left us a rather impatient and passive-aggressive voicemail a little over a month before the scheduled event. Sassy, rude and impolite. I being in this place many times and unfortunately noticed every time I'm back it's getting worse than the previous time, was there this past Sunday with my church friends, services was ok , food not as good as used to be pass time, plus it's overpriced for the quality. I ordered a fish that I was having in previous ovation , it's came in a different version and when i asked its was not like before I chalked to my server and she when yo ask supposedly to the cook and just that and not even asked if I wanted something els , and in top of that fish was over cooked and the dressing was very acid. I didn't sent the food back cuz I was so hungry and didn't not want to pass for a uncomfortable moment. And a 20% in my bill with out option . I've really liked dining at Ozona Blue over the past year. The vibe is great and service is speedy. But... on my most recent visit, I ordered the Bimini stuffed grouper. Normally, it looks nice and fresh with some crab and other seafood. This time.... Ehh. Grouper has gotten expensive? The fish was small and it looked like clam chowder was stuffed in between. Yuck. I know I should have complained. The food this time was a 0. But I'm sure we will be back, but beware of a Market Price entree. Inconsistent quality and expensive! read more
