This place is fantastic!! I have had several of my cars worked on at this shop and every time, I am completely stisfied with the level of service and reasonable pricing. Misha is a great mechanic and always gets me right in for immediate service. (hard to believe, but true) I have refered several of my freinds to his shop as well and they have nothing but good things to say about their experience. I have a 850 volvo and had to get my alternator replaced, which I had been putting off because of the cost. From online searches it said it would cost anywhere from 300 to 1000 to replace it... I brought my car in the evening, they had it fixed by the next afternoon. It ended up costing about 300. The people who work there are very friendly and have prices you cant beat. Very very reasonable prices. When I say reasonable, it means REASONABLE. Really man, replacing a battery how much shall it cost, close to nothing right, and not when you go somewhere and they replace one light bulb for 10$ + bulb price (30 seconds worjk). I got my battery replaced by Misha for battery price + 10 or 15 bucks, really because all was needed is check battery, and replace it. I did 100K service on my Camry, ALL belts replaced, timing, steering, actuator etc etc, spark plugs (V6 1MZ-FE engine! the one that shall be disassembled to get to 3 rear spark plugs!!), engine support, oil antifreeze etc etc for far less than a thousand. These guys are very reasonable, may be not top notch cozy place, but hey, they DO the work, and they take responsibility for what they've done. If something goes wrong, you have your warranty. And if something doesn't need to be replaced, they say "don't replace it as it will last for a year at least or more". You don't get taken advantage of, just because you are not mechanic. I take 20 miles trip to Taskar from Eastside when I need to fix something, just because I know they are fair and I'll get my car fixed, and not my credit card depleted for nothing. read more

Misha is the best! I have a Mazda Speed 6 or 6s, and let me tell you that it seems everything that ever needs to be done to this car is quoted at $1000+ by the dealership and all other shops. Misha and his crew have always beat everyone's prices by at least 20% or better, and the work has been top notch! Take it from someone who is very mechanically inclined and does most of his own work to his car...I only call in the pros when the engine or transmission needs removing or half of the sub-frame needs to be removed...which is a lot easier with a lift! He recently replaced my clutch at 95k. When replacing it noticed my Torque Mount was bad and the cause of another issue I had mentioned. He replaced everything including the engine mount, and even changed my oil for under the original $900 approximate quote for just the clutch which was $400+ cheaper than any other quote for the same job. Car drives like a dream again and there is $400 extra still in my pocket! Not even sure why I waste the time price comparison shopping anymore for my auto mechanic needs! LOVE THEM. The pedal of my car fell to the floor one day when i was driving home. I took it into this garage because i read good reviews. They checked it out, fixed it in less than 5 minutes (apparently it was a quick fix) and didn't charge me anything. Even though it was a quick and easy fix, they could've charged me a bit or acted like it took longer but they didn't. For a girl who has dealt with shady mechanics before, what a breath of fresh air. Well first of all due to the decent amount of people who highly recommended this shop, and the highly rated reviews here, I had no doubt this place would be the spot. Wrong! Awrite, so I had this strange sound in my engine and hadem take a look, the bearish looking Russian man took a quick look with his "tool" and informed me with the utmost confidence "you need a belt tensioner bearing, and when you return with that part we will inspect the car to see if there is anything else you need to have fixed (I had just bought the car recently)". So placing my trust in my Russian comrade I went out and purchased the part confident that when I returned my issue would be conquered no prob. Wrong!..sure enough the same sound remained after his worker installed a part i didnt need in just 5 mins(awesome!) for 40 bucks (not so awesome)...(plus the 50 i spent online for the part itself), and then the Russian dude tried to "explain" to me that it needed to be changed anyways lol (it did not, it was old, but not worn out.) But alas, as I was still not convinced that they did not deserve more of my business i proceeded to tell him I wanted them to do whatever else they think I needed to do on the car (because these guys are one of the best right?)..."no, you need nothing"...wrong!..i needed lots of stuff done (I have since found a good shop who hooked me up). Strangely, him and the older guy behind the desk were very unhelpful, and borderline rude when I was simply asking them basic questions about what they thought about this, or that concerning my ride...so whatever, I just hadem do an oil change and bounced...i guess they just didn't like me for whatever reason....but it was meant to be, I have since found the right shop read more

I took my car to get an oil change here, it cost almost twice as much as most other "convenience" lube places, but I was willing to accept that since it was needed. The entire next week, my car was leaking oil on my driveway, causing stains and making me wonder what could be wrong. I took it back to Taskar, where they begrudgingly took a look at in on the rack and told me that I was leaking because I needed a new gasket for the oil filter housing unit. Though the gasket itself was a $5 part, I was told it would cost $60 to replace it. As they had to order the part, I left and figured I would come back when the part arrived. But before I did I took it to another mechanic who has done great work for me before, and he told me there was no leak, that the reason oil was showing up in the driveway was because old remnant oil had not been cleared from the filter housing unit when it was changed. As it stands now, my car no longer leaks. Glad I didnt end up getting a part replaced I didnt need. Now I know it wasnt the car, just sloppy workmanship. read more

My daughter had her car towed to Taskar when she had engine problems, they told her she needed to have her engine replaced to the tune of $3000. I called and spoke to two different mechanics who gave me two different stories on what was wrong. I had the car towed to another shop and after they diagnosed the problem told me the engine could be fixed for around $425. After reading all the favorable reviews I thought they were an honorable business, apparently not. read more

Taskar Garage is the real thing and I am a true believer now. I am from Los Angeles, I was in Seattle helping my church here when the radiator burst on my 2005 Xterra. Finances were an issue and I needed to get it fixed as inexpensively as possible. I saw the great reviews for Misha's shop on the internet and I could only hope there was truth to them. I can now attest that they are true. I contacted several repair facilities and even considered doing the replacement myself, but when I talked to Ron at Traskar, I was impressed. After getting details from me he gave me a quote based on my info since i couldn't bring the car to him. He was upfront and told me they might find other things once they started working and of course I understood. Here's the bottom line: once I got the vehicle to them, they fixed it in one day, UNDER the cost of Ron's quote, plus Ron called me and told me the belt & idler pully should be replaced. I said please do so because I thought this was needed too because it was making noise. When I picked up the car Misha told me there were a few more little things that should be handled but that the car should run fine for quite a while before they need to be addressed. Honest and straight and correct. I want to thank the boss, Misha, and Ron because this was one of the best repair experiences I've had. Ron was so friendly and helpful, Misha took time to speak with me even though I could see he had a LOT to do. Being someone who is not very handy with cars herself, I find a lot of shops try to take advantage of that. Not this one though! I had brought my 2002 Acura MDX there about three weeks ago to be serviced here for new breaks, rotating an axel and a few other issues. When calling to set up an appointment the women I spoke with made me feel immediately at ease, they worked their schedule around what would work best for me. And were able to get my car in immediately! My car was fixed within a day at HALF THE COST ANOTHER SHOP QUOTED ME!!! I was amazed. I went to pick my car up(after hours) they were able to leave my keys in the car along with a receipt. I was amazed by the job they did. They were fast, friendly, and reasonable! This will be my new car shop! My mother, her husband and my sister have all since then taken their cars into this shop for service and have all walked away feeling like they got amazing work done for a fraction of the cost of other shops! I would recommend this shop 13/10!!! This is my go to place for all my car needs from now on!!! They are extremely honest, run a clean and wholesome shop and will get your vehicle fixed at lightening speed for a fraction of the price of other shops!! Great service, Misha knows what he is doing and is very honest and very fair. Prompt and gets the job done in a timely manner. On my older car, I had to have the diver's door taken apart for a couple of various reasons. The first I had to have it dismantled I took it to firestone and the process itself costed me over $150. The second time I had to have it taken apart I took it up to Misha, it took less then 2 hours and he didn't charge me. The last visit was one star or less, however I've used Taskar previously with reasonable results, hence two stars overall. It seems they have become too busy and are now foregoing diagnostics. I brought my car in for loss of power. The lead mechanic said it was misfiring and need new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. I mentioned these parts had recently been replaced, but he said that is the only explanation for the misfiring. I approved, hoping he was correct. A few hours later he called and said he found a badly leaking valve cover gasket which was pouring oil into the spark plug wells. I asked if this was the root cause since the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor were almost new and asked him to try just the valve cover gasket which he agreed to do. Later in the afternoon he called and said it was ready and the bill was $367.00. I picked up the car - it was in the exact same condition as when I dropped it off - whatever they did had no effect whatsoever. They obviously don't test drive or do any other checking to ensure their repair actually resolves the issue. I have since found the issue was a clogged exhaust system from a faulty cat converter. It seems they are too busy to perform decent diagnostics or any test drives at all and have resorted to taking guesses and throwing parts at the symptoms. For me $367.00 is far too high a price to put hope in the wild guess of someone who's too busy to run diagnostics, so never again will I use Taskar. read more

First, did you all nortice that their good reviews are from few years ago?? Some happened to them since then... I have to say they are not only rip off but thief as well. I brought my 2013 Toyota in there for oil change and to fix my leak in tire. They charge $127 for it and didn't even fix my tire but just over filled all 4 tires by 10 lb!!! I only found that out because my car's leaking sigh came up again next morning. So I went to check at gas station, my original leaked tire was 25lb all the rest was 42lb! Oh yes I called them very politely. But he basically yelled at me and said very sarcastic way"I'm sorry I made a mistake!!!"really? You mean you are sorry I cought you ripping me off? At that point I just let it go. I accepted that fact he wasn't worth my time. Then a weeks later.... My husband happened to open my hood then found this green cheap Weired battery we have never seen in our car before. As I mentioned my car is 2013 still have very new looking original parts in everywhere... We could not believe it. Only people who had a access to our car without braking in were tasker garage. It is very oubviouse that I have zero knowledge of cars. But who would abuse that to this point??? Really? You would even tske my good battery to replace with done weird cheap battery after you rip me off? Don't take your car there! They are not honest people. read more

I feel so lucky to have found this garage. I take my old Subaru with 190,000 miles to this shop whenever I need any work done or for a second opinion. When my car suddenly started making a scary clunking noise, I almost bought a new car because Carter Subaru Ballard dealership said it's probably either axels or differential which cost a lot to fix. I took my car to Taskar for a second opinion. Misha found right away the wheel studs were missing which made a rear tire loose. He also showed me the front break was due for a replacement. Frankly, showing me worn car parts is like trying to teach a mule how to read as I have no clue what I'm looking at. But, I appreciate his making a point of showing his honesty. With a front break replacement, new wheel studs and oil change, I paid $290+tax. Can't beat that price. Another experience was when the check engine light went on. I took it to my dealership who told me it would cost $99 just to run diagnostics. Taskar found right away at no cost that the problem was spark plugs which ended up costing only $17 plus labor. If I could give them no stars I would! I found myself in a vehicle meltdown on a Sunday. Based on the ratings here and proximity to my home I chose to have my truck towed to Taskar. I suspected a fuel pump/filter issue, but I'm not a mechanic by any means. I left the keys in the Dropbox and left a message on their machine. The contacted me on Monday (I guess one point in their favor) to find out more. I told them my tail of woe and asked them to check out the fuel pump. They called a bit later and said they had to do a tune up before they could check the fuel pump because it wouldn't start - duh...so they completed the tune up, but it still wouldn't start... So they looked at the fuel pump...finally and replaced it...well my truck would start, but it ran like crap...so they determined that there was no compression in cylinder 6. When I went to pick up my truck, they informed me of this fact and said that I probably needed a new engine. WTF? With the exception of the starting issue my truck RAN fine bf they got their hands on it and I sunk $575 into it. Long story short, I took my truck to Matt's auto up on greenwood for a second opinion on the recommendation of a friend. Well, there is compression in 6 and it turns out that Taskar's put the wrong ignition wires on and it fouled the plugs immediately, causing it to misfire and run rough (way rough). Now with another $350 into my truck at Matt's to fix Taskar's screwup, I have a truck that runs again! If you have a Japanese vehicle head to Matt's Auto!!! read more
