    Jerk Chicken Meal
    Nicole H.

This review shall reflect their quality of food. Basic! Their food truck appears to be clean. The sanitation grade is displayed if you're concerned about that. Service is typical for a food truck, nothing worth mentioning. The main attraction, their food! I paid $19 for the most basic jerk chicken I've ever had. If this is what food taste like in Jamaica, I'm scratching it off my list to visit! There is nothing with recommending on this plate. Unseasoned chicken and cabbage. The rice and peas had the most flavor out of everything but that is not worth $19. Their chicken is comparable in to rotisserie chicken with some kind of sauce (didn't taste like jerk to me). Overall, I'd skip this place. The price and quality does not match.

After weeks of trying I was finally able to order food from this food truck located at the corner of Reynolda and Fairlawn. I called in my order of the Oxtail Meal and the Jerk Chicken Meal! Once I got there I had to wait in line, and the entire order processing is incredibly slow. After I paid, I was given a beeper to notify me when my order was ready - calling in the order accomplished nothing - time to get my order was nearly 40 minutes. The three people in line when I arrived received their food before me even though I'd call the order in over 10 minutes earlier! Not good so far, and of course it was destined to get worse. When I opened my order, miles away, I found that only half my paid for order was there - the Jerk Chicken had flown away. I had no energy to go back into that maelstrom of utter foolishness. I took my losses knowing full well that this bad roll of the dice was not yet done - and of course I was too right! The oxtail was quite nice, what there was of it - after that it was rice with the fewest beans I've encountered in this Jamaican staple, cabbage that was the least of what Jamaican cabbage can be! There is a reason why dogs that chase trucks often live, or not, and I find a life lesson in that thought! I will not chase this truck or its lame food and deplorable service again. Tried this place for the second time and the only changes from my first review was there weren't any butter beans in my oxtail and I tried the new sweet corn menu item. The corn was very sweet with a mildly spicy and salty butter sauce and dollop of sour cream. I felt the sour cream was unnecessary. While the corn was very good, they shouldn't be charging $3.99 for one quarter of an ear. They should have included 2. It's seems like they're gaining popularity. There were 2 customers ahead of me when I arrived and more coming after I left. Maybe next time, I'll try the stew chicken and a beef patty. Customer service was still good, but you do have to wait at least 5 minutes for your food.

(4.5 stars) I'd been curious about this food truck since I…read moreheard about them last year, and I'm glad that I got a chance to finally try them. Bao Yeah offers not only bao but bowls and fried chicken as well. Their ordering (via tablet) is convenient, and they turn around orders quickly. I went with a three-piece bao, which allowed me to sample the two fried chicken varieties (K*Bomb with gochujang and Garlic Gang with soy black garlic) as well as the bulgogi. All of the bao were amply stuffed with meat and pickled vegetables and slathered with tasty sauce. The thick buns held everything in place, so eating was not too sloppy an endeavor. Everything delivered the expected flavors - sweet heat from the K*Bomb, a tangier note from the bulgogi - and the fried chicken boasted a thick, crunchy batter. It was quite tasty though the chicken was definitely a bit dry. At least the bulgogi was nice and tender. All told, Bao Yeah is a promising newish addition to the Triad food truck scene. It may not be the best Korean street food you've ever had, but you're in for a flavorful meal without a long wait.

Everything they make is fantastic and my favorites are the K Bomb chicken and the Holy Cow (Bugogi) Beef Bowl but you cannot go wrong with anything they make. Always super friendly service as well!
