I have been gone here many times since it opened and I have never been dissatisfied. The staff has always been extremely cordial, and the food has been superb. It's not a huge place but it's very intimate, which I enjoy more. The only knock I can think about this place, is that I never know what to order as it all looks good. Though you have to get the octopus appetizer, if they haven't run out. This has easily become one of my favorite spots in Ann Arbor and I would suggest everyone go there and see for yourself. read more

Probably one of the best restaurants in Ann Arbor. I love the location and food is amazing. A mixture of Asian dishes and western taste. However, it is a popular restaurant and it would be wise to set a reservation before going. Also, it get pretty noisy because the tables are so close by one another. read more

We had been there before and always had good experiences, but our anniversary dinner set a new high bar of service and quality. We went on a Sunday evening for dinner. For an appetizer, we had the Pork Belly Bao. It was SO delicious and it was just the right size. For our entrees, my fiance ordered the Duo of Beef and I ordered the Grilled Mahi Mahi. Everything was exquisitely orchestrated. His filet was cooked perfectly and refreshingly unadorned. The steak was allowed to shine on it's own. The short rib was SO rich and flavorful. His sides were delectable. My entree was somehow light and hearty at the same time. But not only was the service rude and inconsiderate but the drinks were appalling and not in the least bit as expected. I went to Taste last night for the first time. I must say the food was amazing and really good. I'm someone who has traveled to many different places in the world and have tried different cuisines. I must say, Taste has some very good food. In addition, they have a bar lounge type of atmosphere at night. The drinks were good too and the music was good. Another fantastic meal with excellent service at Taste Kitchen. We enjoyed the atmosphere with a few pre dinner drinks, the beet salad and the incomparable octopus. Our server was very attentive and engaging. Our mains of pork and lamb chops were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. We finished the meal with espressos and a delightful chocolate desert. The only downside of the evening was being seated beside a self aggrandizing, distasteful couple who sent back perfectly cooked duck and complained throughout their entire meal. Came in for dinner while traveling for work. I had the shrimp risotto as my starter and it was delicious. As my main meal I got the Divers scallops which came with butternut squash purée and Brussels sprouts, absolutely delicious. Portions were a perfect size as well. This place is absolutely superb. I've been here on multiple occasions for both lunch and dinner times, and have had a positive experience at all times. For me, the portions are perfect and seem well calculated since the main plates are rather large and make up for the "smaller" appetizers. As for the taste: Other than the five tastes, you can definitely taste "umami" as well. Also, I can tell that they use very fresh oil, since I never get heartburn or any bad feeling even after a hearty meal. Considering the techniques and preparations behind-scene, I think that the taste and price of Taste Kitchen is perfect. Please keep up the taste! read more

This is now one of my favorite restaurants In Ann Arbor. We went for dinner and it's location is great, right in downtown, and the minute I saw the menu I knew it would be good. We started with the ceviche and the tuna poke. The ceviche was simply spectacular and my favorite thing all night. The tuna poke was very good as well. Then we got the mussels and the risotto; both were excellent entrées. To finish the night we got the cheese platter along with the bodino squares. The restaurant actually ran out of bread so to compensate they gave us more strawberries which I liked better than if we had gotten bread. The bodino squares were so rich and delicious. They were both great choices to end the evening. The only problem we faced all evening was parking, but that is for all restaurants in downtown Ann Arbor. Decided to try this place for brunch/lunch using a $17 for $10 Yelp deal. Got the steamed shrimp dumplings and vegetarian quinoa paella. Dumplings (5 for $7, kinda pricey) were too soft and sticky; tasted okay with the ginger soy dipping sauce, but nothing too special. Paella was similarly decent but unremarkable, although price/portion ratio was more appropriate. Wanted a cafe americano, but the espresso machine was not working at the time, so got drip coffee instead. Thought the price included refills, but on the final check it looked like there was extra charge. Not many customers just before noon on Sunday. Service was fairly friendly and efficient. Overall, not a bad experience, and perhaps I missed out on the better menu selections, but I don't feel particularly compelled to go back. read more

O.M.G. Get thee to an awesome meal immediately! That would be here at Taste Kitchen, which was my pick for best meal I had in Ann Arbor! Fish tacos were awesome--generous helping of guacamole--where so many restaurants put a micro-size piece of avocado on something and claim it's a main feature of the dish, with lots of flavor in general. The pear-bleu cheese salad was spot on with its mix of flavors, toasted nuts, a touch of radish and red bell pepper. The scallop dish was just phenomenal--served with a mushroom and asparagus risotto, a bit of curry sauce and a parmesan crisp on top (heavenly combo), and dessert was unlike anything I've ever had: grilled pineapple with a cilantro puree, a little bit of mandarin orange, a petit scoop of ginger ice cream and toasted coconut flakes. An impressive combo that worked--especially if you enjoy sweet and savory flavors. Server and staff was was top notch, loved the light fixtures. And it's funny, I see someone else on here say that they'd prefer Logan over this. No way, for me! I went to Taste for dinner with a friend. We ordered a number of apps, I had the fish taco, which was insane, so delish and so beautiful on the plate. I also had the spring rolls, which were okay, I didn't love the mint but that was just a personal thing, and I couldn't have one of the sauces because of an allergy so I am sure it would also have been enhanced with it. Shane, the bartender, made me a wonderful drink that I really enjoyed. I ordered the pear salad and the salmon. The pear salad was amazing, big chunks of amazing blue cheese! We had lunch here today and were really happy with it - the food was delicious and beautifully presented, and we had the BEST experience we've had in Ann Arbor in terms of receptiveness to kids - the guy running the front of the house couldn't have been nicer, and the chef made some French fries off the menu for our girls! They got completely slammed about a half hour after we arrived, and they are working out some kinks with the service - the food was very slow to arrive (possibly because it's so good and clearly had a lot of thought put into it) and the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed. But I bet they'll continue to get better once they've been in business more than a month. We'll definitely be back :) read more

Had dinner there last Friday night. This was our 1st visit. Service was outstanding and the chef has great talent at care, presentation and the preparation of meals.
