    Butter chicken
    Eric K.

Ordered the butter chicken and was quite surprised. Everything was really good including the garlic naan bread. The chicken was a little chewy in some spots but still was quite delicious. Spicy rating of 3 is not that hot. The 5 rating isn't that hot either. It's made for the taste of white folks that can't handle heat lol

    Saag Paneer

ordered lamb korma and saag paneer to go. The saag paneer wasn't the typical saag, the base tasted like a squash or pumpkin curry and didn't match the picture on the website. There were very few pieces of the lamb or paneer in either dish. Would not order here again.

this was a nice quiet dinner because we had the place to ourselves. fantastic authentic indian food!! i ordered the Himalayan dinner with chicken curry and could barely finish it, its a lot of food.

The veggie pakora. LOVED the mint chimichurri.

Twas an interesting experience, from the somewhat desolate location and unique parking, to having my food boxed up in front of me and the server completely manhandling my naan into the to-go container. The food came quickly, and tasted darn good, so I was there for maybe half an hour. I feel like the quality of the food merits an aesthetic makeover of the interior, it's not representative of the quality. Also it was super quiet with no ambience music playing. Overall, pretty good. Dropped a star for the liberties taken with my naan. ‍

    Awful... just awful.. Saag Paneer

Ugh! I want my money back, in a nutshell! I love saag, I get saag at every Indian place I can. This saag was not blended. It was full leafs of Spinach in some orange sauce. That is not saag.... I also got the roti. Which is usually a fluffy wheat break, this roti was literally a Mexican wheat tortilla. The kids got butter chicken ... some how that was light years away from what we know as butter chicken. This place is doing it different... and it's gross.

I have a huge appetite but even i had to ask for a to go box. I really enjoyed the brown rice i got with my meal. I got the veggie combo which right now is $15 for the lunch combo special. The crispy cauliflower was delish! It came with a tangy sauce. They had quite an extensive menu and a lot of vegetarian options. I may have to make this a weekly spot so i can get through the menu!

Inside the restaurant there is a calming feeling as they were playing slow Hindu chanting music low on their sound system. The first server We began with was very young and maybe learning the menu still as he was really not that good at answering questions on the menu. As soon as we checked in on Yelp, suddenly service picked up. Another more experienced server brought us first, hand towels to wipe out hands (a nice touch, but the towels were almost cold when he brought them, was it an after thought?); and he also brought us complimentary cups of dal that were very tasty. The dishes we got were saag lamb, butter chicken, and organic channa masala, and garlic buttered Naan. Had our first server known how to describe menu better we may have chosen a few different items. He did recommend the butter chicken as one of his favorite so that's why we got it as we often enjoy it other places as well. It was very good, a classic with great sauce, probably the favorite dish. The saag lamb was good too, but we almost got the patak lamb, similar sounding dish but maybe creamier/ other veggie too? But our first server could not really describe difference well. I'm thinking we may have enjoyed the other dish better than saag lamb which was good, but felt the spinach was extremely over cooked, and so finely chopped almost like it was highly minced or powdered? But it was flavorful. The Channa Masala was on the dry side. We we're trying to decide on a saucy vegetable dish and we asked about this dish because we liked that it said organic. That same first server said it was saucy, but not that saucy. Each dish comes with your choice of white or brown rice, or steamed veggies. Two dishes we got brown rice with, and the third we got steamed veggies because we thought there would be more sauce overall to add them too. The rice was allot ( took quite a bit home); the veggies were this nice mix, but so boring with no taste, and what a waste. The veggies even had water floating in bottom of dish. It would be so much nicer if there were an option to have these lightly stirfried with a little flavor as an option ( they were completely bland) , and there was really not enough saucy stuff to add them to so only partially eaten, left remaining there on table instead of taking home with other stuff. We asked for a sample of their side sauces and we got a tiny (like a tablespoon each?) 3 dish sampling of their very tasty homemade mango sauce, tart and tangy cilantro mint sauce, and some sweeter tamarind sauce. But they were very tiny amounts. The Naan was light and crisp, very nice, but could barely taste garlic butter. We asked for our dishes to be medium heat and it was fairly mild for us still, but i guess with American palate, spicy can be relative. But oh well. We also had cups of chai (under $5.00) that had refills, and a glass of house white wine ( Murphy good Sauvignon Blanc was only $8.00 so that was a deal). I'm giving 4 stars for their efforts, but hope they read this so they can improve a few things.

Got that right! Cause the food here was EXCELLENT. Shared garlic naan -- yes, some are better than others, and this place's was really good. Asked for recommendations from the person working at the front and got the chicken korma at her suggestion; highly recommend! We also had dal and sag paneer, as well as something with eggplant that I don't recall, but that I also enjoyed. All dishes come with a small side of rice. But if you don't do heat, I'd suggest mild -- or, as some restaurants sometimes do, even "no spice." We ordered our food medium spicy -- if you're a spice person, that should be enough, friend. It definitely made me pay attention, but the heat didn't linger on after the meal. The flavor, however, did. Definitely look forward to returning!

My husband and I stayed at the Stanford Inn back in 2025 to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, and my goodness! It's going to be really hard to beat. The Raven's Restaurant was so convenient being only a few steps away from our room. The views from the dining room are breathtaking. You either get a view of the garden and ocean, or a view of the Big River. Both are amazing! Breakfast is complimentary for those staying at the Stanford Inn, and like other reviewers have mentioned, the portion sizes are large! The food is nutrient dense, so you feel satiated after only eating half of it or so. Our breakfast would also double as our lunch, so that's two meals in one! What a win! Plus, the service was top notch every time. We felt taken care of every step of the way. I am vegan and my husband is not vegan, however, he enjoys and appreciates vegan food. There have been some vegan restaurants that we've gone to where he was not a fan, but he was so pleasantly surprised and happy with all the food at Raven's Restaurant. We especially loved the scones and looked forward to each morning trying a new flavor. They were all so delicious and moist, not crumbly and dry. None of their items were too sweet or too salty, which was amazing for people who are sensitive to those flavors. My husband and I just booked another getaway in a couple weeks and we are counting down the days to be back and enjoy Raven's Restaurant again!

We tried a few dishes including the seasonal vegetable plate, a grain bowl, and their pasta, along with a couple appetizers and salads. Service was good and the atmosphere is very calm and scenic, especially given the inn setting. A good option if you're staying at the Stanford Inn or want a fully vegan meal
