The food was so terrible we couldn't eat it! It looked and tasted like it came from the Costco freezer section, and it was microwaved. I couldn't even get any coconut milk for my coffee! Ever been to a Thai restaurant that doesn't have coconut milk? Enough said. The only authentic food served was the sticky rice. That they got right. Save yourself from a restaurant that charges outrageous prices for Thai food that tastes like it came from a grocery shelf, rather than authenticly made. Obviously all the reviews were just paid advertising. It was so disappointing. read more

This Thai kitchen is perfection. Appetizers to desserts. The freshness slaps you. It awakens your taste buds. The fried bananas with coconut ice cream is the best Ive had. Period. Sliced mangoes with sticky rice was addictive. Time your travel to hit Osha when you are driving through. The historic building they are in is out of a movie set. Their selection of music and volume should be the standard for restaurants. Also outdoor seating for over 50. Our server was equally as welcoming as the ambiance. Bucket list. read more

We had an 80th birthday celebration there on 6/22. The owners are great hosts and made everything run smoothly. They helped with the champagne and cake I brought . And the food was superb. We had our anniversary dinner there a couple of weeks ago so we knew how good it is. All enjoyed themselves. Can't wait to return! read more

Lunch was delicious! Shrimp veggie roll appetizer with peanut sauce was a perfect starter. I always try Drunken Noodles as my "test" for Thai restaurants and this was excellent. Fresh noodles and delicious mix of flavors came with chili sauce on the side. Hubby had the duck soup and was very pleased. Osha Thai has a slightly upscale ambiance without a lot of noise like so many restaurants have nowadays, which made for a very pleasant meal. Our server was helpful in choosing from the menu. A bit pricier than other local restaurants, but well worth it. read more

Had a pleasant four person dinner on a recent Saturday evening. Busy, busy! Glad we arrived at 18:00. If you want to eat any later, make a reservation. Saw several other groups of four disappointed at having to wait. One group even ate outside despite the light rain. The menu is pretty extensive. Lots to choose from, even for picky eaters. Service was a little slow but that was due to the crowds. Once served, staff was attentive and the meals came out quickly. The food was very good and portions were generous. We had three appetizers and and entrees, all were enjoyed. Steak, pineapple chicken fried rice, crab rangoons, crispy egg rolls, chicken satay and beef soup. The owner came to our table and introduced himself and chatted for a few minutes. At the end of the meal he brought us a lovely dessert of mango and blackberry rice to share. Very nice indeed. The ambiance went from quiet and relaxed to moderately loud and busy. The decor was fairly typical as far as it goes; exposed brick, woodwork, vintage windows. Price point a bit high, but worth the expense. All in all a very good experience and a solid choice for the area. read more

Whether sitting at the bar, watching a game, sitting outside, or inside the ambience is great. We went with a group, so we got to try a lot of different food options. Everything from the eggs rolls to the noodles and the rice dishes were excellent. A great Thai spot hidden in a small town where you would never expect it. This place just opened up in hopland. The place is completely remodeled and now has air conditioning. The decor is super nice and the place is so clean. The staff were very friendly and so helpful when we asked for food recommendations. We ordered the mango prawns, the pork belly, the drunken noodles and the mango sticky rice with ice cream. Everything was absolutely delicious and plated beautifully. The prices are reasonable and the portions are good. We will definitely be back to try other things. read more

Osha, long a Bay Area favorite Thai food restaurant has opened a delightful spot in Hopland, just 10 minutes north of Sonoma County on Hwy 101. Gorgeous interior space with a full bar, and a beautiful outdoor patio, with plenty of shade. The service was friendly, professional and most welcoming. And the food, OMG, exceptionally fresh, tasty and Thai-delicious. If you don't know Osha, try it and you'll be back again and again. read more

Took 30 minutes for drink orders, took another 40 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. dinner was piecemealed in 20 minutes later, with 1 order not served because the kitchen ran out of the ingredients for that dish! Incompetent staff all around! read more

I've moved my previous 5 star rating down a notch due to having tried twice since to have a meal. In both cases the restaurant was closed despite the visits being within posted hours. That is annoying when their website makes no mention that they are closed for a prolonged holiday season. There is no message on their phone. Not a great way to keep customers no matter how great the food. Now moving the score down to 3 stars following the downgrade just above. Went down for lunch today after previously reading the sign on the door. That sign describes their extended holiday closure dates and it states they will reopen Saturday 12/27. That was yesterday. But today once again not open. Really poor. read more

I love Thai food. I have eaten at most of the better Thai restaurants in the Bay Area and have visited the country a few times. Granted, we only tried a few dishes here, but I would bet money that this is the best Thai restaurant along 101 north of San Francisco and before Oregon. There may be other contenders, but I'm not aware of any. Their menu had enough of the US Thai restaurant staple dishes and enough less common dishes that this place is worth repeat visits. It would be a find in any big city -- for them to plunk it down in inland Mendocino County is a blessing. It immediately goes to the top of my (very short) list of great local restaurants. We stopped here after it was recommended by someone at Jaxon Keys winery. There were 8 of us and we ate family style so we got to try a lot . We all loved Drunken Noodle, pumpkin curry, green curry and papaya salad. It was a great day on the patio but would be fun to sit inside the historic building. Service was quick and polite. I had heard good things about this new restaurant in Hopland and visited with my family for a late lunch in early December. We were really disappointed. First, the prices are really high. We thought maybe given the prices, the portions would be generous but they were small. It was pretty good but not the best we have had. The service was okay but the waiter was not at all friendly or helpful. The menu was confusing about whether you have to pay more for tofu or chicken added to each dish (you don't--only shrimp or seafood, I think). We ate outside and the ambiance was just okay (with uncomfortable seating that wasn't a good match for the oversized tables and loud trucks going by on 101). Inside was nicely decorated but it was very cold and dark. read more

I was looking forward to trying OSHA Thai in Hopland, but it didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the Volcanic Beef "signature dish," and the steak was tough and chewy. The bell peppers were barely cooked--almost raw--and the fried egg rice had no flavor at all. For such a high-priced plate, the quality just wasn't there. The Thai tea was good though! Unfortunately, I left feeling unsatisfied and won't be returning. read more
