This was our 2nd time eating breakfast here and we were able to get a better take on this restaurant than our first visit. 1st the good, the service. Of course, we were the only ones in there except for a person seated at the bar. 2nd - food. I had 2 eggs over medium, home fries and house made sausage patties. They were out of sourdough bread so I had their homemade English muffin. The eggs were a bit too runny for my taste, but the potatoes were good. The sausage was dry and salty, but the English muffin had a great flavor even though it needed to be toasted better. It got soggy and mushy. My husband ordered a waffle that was more like a pancake with waffle markings on it. He had my other sausage patty, but neither one of us could finish them. 3rd - the restaurant is eclectic and kind of cute. But it needs a deep cleaning and freshening up. We go to Lincoln City quite often for a few hours because it's close to our home, But this is one restaurant we crossed off our breakfast out list. read more

This cute little Bistro is right on hwy 101 as you get to Siletz Bay. They have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu with all the staples. Most everything seems to be made on site from the sausage links to the handbreaded chicken fried steak to a variety of gravies. The portions are massive! Picture is a HALF order of biscuits and gravy! The food is well prepared, eggs cooked properly, bread toasted nicely. All that said, salt and pepper throughout the cooking process would do a world of good. We were greeted promptly, and hot coffee came out swiftly. Wonderful place for breakfast. Our first time here. It would be very easy to miss this place as you drive by. Very comfortable atmosphere and casual of course. Service was excellent. Coffee was good and my cup was filled till I had to stop them or I'd float out. I got the eggs Benedict with the OBrien potatoes. They were good. It took around 20 mins for anyone to order our drinks, took another 15 mins for anyone to take our order. We had to ask multiple times for water. This was confusing because multiple waitresses were standing around and walking around us. Once food arrived we all had large portions of more than enough food. I really enjoyed my chicken and waffles but heard complaints from my friends about the quality of their meals. The decor looked like the inside of a garage. We waited another 20 mins after our meal to pay. If you're looking for large portions and a huge variety this is your place. But if you're looking for something efficient this isn't your spot. read more

We enjoyed a Thanksgiving Dinner at Tastebud's Bistro today. It was a good homestyle Thanksgiving meal with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and pie. Everything was delicious! The owners and staff were very friendly and the service was great! The price was more than reasonable. We have enjoyed the menu in the recent past but there have been changes. The Eggs Benedict now has meat that isn't Canadian Bacon or even thin sliced ham. It looks and tastes like over cooked beef. The razor clams are no longer on the menu. The service is good but what is the point of going if the food isn't good. Hill Top Restaurant has good Eggs Benedict so I guess we will be making that our breakfast spot now. read more

Hash browns on both our plates were more mushy than crispy. I had the country Benedict (corned beef on biscuit with poached egg and chorizo gravy). I ate the toppings, but something was wrong with that biscuit. It was dry and tasted funny. The egg was poached perfectly and the gravy was good; corned beef was fine. The meal was reasonably priced and the server was sweet despite being spread too thin. It could be that lunch is better here. It also could be that they had an off day. I've been eating at Tastebuds since it opened. The owner, Gene, is creative and cuisine always reminded me of the food I loved in Pittsburgh. He was not afraid of trying something different. Buds is a breakfast and lunch place, the best variety of burgers on the coast. My favorite breakfast is the oyster scramble. It seems to get better every time I go in. 5 fresh oyster go into it. Their restaurant is aptly named. I think with all my family we each had a different burger and everyone raved about theirs. Some got the french dip instead, and huge portions and so yummy! My adult son sitting next to me had the Club Sandwich! It was monstrous in its stack and flavor. My son owns his own pizzeria and has some very definite ideas as to gourmet creations and flavors. He was so impressed and blown away. And..... not to forget! I have tomention the homemade onion rings! Each ring hand dipped in batter and fried to perfection. Probably a zillion calories, but worth every single one. wish I would have taken a picture of them, but look at the website. I was too busy eating to take pictures of all the gorgeous food. Tastebuds has been our favorite breakfast place for a long time; our only quibble was that they stopped serving breakfast at 11:00, but they now serve breakfast all day. Even better, they now are open for dinner (Yelp's closing time of 3:00 pm is wrong). We really enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinner - dinner was reasonably priced, and, although we expected service to be so-so because the place was packed, the staff was quick, efficient and pleasant. Everything I've had there has been a pleasant surprise, including the homemade onion rings. Last night I had their "Philly Cheesesteak," and it was the best cheesesteak that I've found on the coast. Unfortunately, the food was awful. My husband ordered a hot sandwich and a thick, long, black hair was sticking out of one end. We went to pull the hair out and it was melted into the cheese, meat and bread about half way up the sandwich. We flagged down the waitress who said, "This isn't my hair." Odd response...she didn't seem too surprised, but went back to the kitchen to ask the cook to make another one. I was half way through my hot sandwich and I found a hair as well. Large portions: neither of us could finish our sandwiches. The sandwiches come with potato chips that resemble Kettle chips, but not greasy or overly salty. I had patty sausage and it was excellent, looked & tasted like fresh sausage. The hash browns were very good. One of the group had a vegetable omelet which she enjoyed. Another had razor clams which were a smidge over breaded and a little tough. Corned beef hash which was homemade (aka not canned) was good.
