For some reason I just kept putting off trying this place out. I finally stopped by and wished I had sooner, but more on that later. Inside is a basic layout but the vibe is set with 80's to early 2000's R&B music as well as videos being played on the TVs. There were a decent amount of options to choose from and since it was just me it did take me a minute or to to decide on what to order. I finally settled on the Jerk Oxtail Meal with Chef Trish Famous Mac & Cheese and yams as sides. The lady taking my order also recommended the Banana Pudding over the taffy grapes which I ordered as well. Customer service wasn't on the menu and it was lacking. Not rude mind you, just not good customer service. But the food was good. The oxtails were tender and very flavorful and I have no complaints on the portion size, 5/5. Mac & Cheese was good, not the best I've ever had but a solid 4/5. Yams were alright, nothing special 3.5/5. I'm not a big fan of bananas so I didn't have high expectations for the banana pudding but it tasted so good. It was dense and creamy and not too sweet 5/5. The food was on point and there are quite a few more things that I want to try ensuring a return visit. But alas, a mere 5 days after my first visit, the complex has burned down. Came across this place on IG and my bf was adamant we try it out. When we arrived there was a pretty long line almost to the door. Took us a while to order and we ended up waiting 30+ min for our order but it was worth it. We decided to share the salmon w/ rice and for sides we got Mac and Cheese, sweet yams, and corn bread. The sides were fireeee and that cornbread was so moist and buttery. The salmon was a bit of a let down because it was dry so def wish we had a sauce to go over it. I ordered from this establishment on DoorDash. I ordered the Oxtail Alfredo. The price point was extremely high for the quality of the food. Its was 42$, with taxes and fees this is almost a 60$ meal. The food was salty, the pasta noodles were extremely big and too soft. They gave me 2 huge oxtails. Normally that would be ok, but on the contrary they were not cooked long enough so I literally had to fight to get the meat off the oxtail, and extremely tough to chew. We went to tastebudz kitchen mid day around 2:00 pm, & when we walked in it was kind empty but shortly after the place started to fill up. The service was fast, attentive & friendly. You walk up to the counter and order your food, & then go find a table and wait for it. Our food took about 25 minutes from order to table. We got a little of everything, salmon plate with Mac n cheese & yams & white butter rice. - 10/10 seriously no complaints, everything was so seasoned and flavorful. The Mac was cheesy & creamy and cooked perfectly & the yams were sweet and you can taste the brown sugar and butter sauce mmhm so good!! The salmon was literally cooked perfectly it was tender, flaky, and melt in your mouth. If you're from the south and know about good food this is the closest you will find it in Las Vegas. The Cajun elotes - i thought they were going to be like off the Cobb but they were 4 really big corn on the cobs in a buttery, garlicy sauce with mayo and some kinda chile, bomb! Someone else with me tried the oxtails with gravy and they loved it and said it was so tender & fall off the bone. The cornbread was so sweet and yummy it tasted like cake. By mistake we placed order for the cajun chicken instead of the jerk. My wife immediately tried to call after placing the order. And was met with the most unprofessional staff I've ever experienced in my life. I don't know who the staff member is, but changes should definitely be made for a business that's trying to grow in prosper here in Vegas amongst very, very hungry and well-known competitors. Came to Flamingo location and waited for a while and then asked how much longer and was told 15 months so I left and came bk and food was still not ready. We visited the Taste Budz closest to the UNLV campus. We were in Vegas for the weekend and could not leave without experiencing a restaurant with so many rave reviews. We visited on a Sunday and were overwhelmed by the plethora of food options. Luckily Shamira, was able to assist with this. She recommended great options for a traditional soul food, Sunday dinner (Oxtails, Mac'n'cheese & collard greens. We were able to take in the menu while listening to R&B classics which was a vibe in itself. We took Shamira's recommendation and also got the Steak'n'Shrimp Alfredo with sweet potatoes and corn on the cob. Believe me when I tell you, "you're not ready for corn on the cob with Alfredo sauce".....DELICOUS! Extraordinary Women of Las Vegas, a social group, ate lunch at the Maryland Pkwy location. It was the last Sunday in March and the restaurant was extremely busy with a constant flow of customers. Bring your patience and prepared to wait to place your order. Suggest you call your order in before arrival. Our meals were plentiful, delicious, fresh and well seasoned. Highly recommend the seafood dishes, oxtails and the greens. Employees and manager were very friendly and helpful with meal suggestions. We enjoyed the vibe and many of us took leftovers home.
