Had to put this thing in the microwave just to eat part of it.

if I could zero stars I would. went in bought an apple fritter and a pack of the McKenzie cinnamon rolls that I use to love as a kid got home which was 50 minutes away and the whole pack of cinnamon rolls were stale as heck. I paid $14 just to be disappointed. this place is a joke not like it used to be to be. waste of money.

    Soooo amazing yall

Such a delight to come to this location for my Tastee fix. I love the fact that out of all the Tastee locations, this 1 is fully serviced where everyone is ready & willing to serve with such a quick and upbeat personality. The aroma that hits you in the face as soon as you enter is beyond memorizing so much it makes you want to taste every single thing that has been baked. I highly suggest the buttermilk drops

This Tastee doesn't have the huge selection like the one on Loyola Dr in Kenner but they are, nonetheless, fresh and tasty. They have an assortment of donuts from glazed to cake donuts. Then there are numerous varieties of each one from a regular glazed to a chocolate ice glazed with sprinkles or a regular cake donut to glazed chocolate cake donuts. I usually get a small 1/2 dozen box for $4.99. Kastleburgers and a few other items are also available here (chicken and fish baskets). You can't go wrong with a few Kastleburgers late at night when on an empty stomach.

    Yumm-ay!

Tastee has been in my life for decades! I don't remember a time before chocolate sprinkle donuts and I distinctly remember my first Kastleburger with cheese! It was a rush of addictive wonderfulness that I have revisited, with fervor, time and time again! This location takes me waaaayyyy back with the sugar dressed donuts of my dreams, McKenzie's favorites, and the staple slider Kastleburger. Good coffee, tasty tasty treats and sweet smiling staff make this my favorite Tastee of all time!

The drive-thru can not be trusted to sell fresh donuts! I complained so let's see if they are fresh when I return! Stayed tuned.

Do you have old McKenzies buttermilk drops?

They do not have "old" McKenzies buttermilk drops. That would be stale & gross! They DO have the original recipe for McKenzies buttermilk drops & make fresh donuts daily. Yummy!

The Roma is probably my favorite because it is more savory. The positano was a little sweeter than I expected with the fig jam. I love the fig jam. Both sandwiches were great and you can't go wrong Price is pricey Bread is oily Parking is street and somewhat difficult to find, had to walk 2 blocks Only has about 3 small tables to sit outside, otherwise you're out of luck. I took it to go since there was no seating. Overall, I'd definitely come back. I think half a sandwich per person would suffice instead of a whole next time. It still tasted good after being in the fridge for a day.

The prosciutto was heavenly, the sweetness of the fig spread coupled with the spicy Calabrian chilis is out of this world. Sooo good! Mike had the Pisa. Despite the chicken being a perfectly thin cotoletta (yes, I have been taking Italian lessons for the past year ) it was still moist and crispy. The sauce was wonderful and the mozzarella was melted to form the most delightful sandwich. We had planned to get back over there before we left town but failed to. Alas, another reason to come back to NOLA This place is not an eat in establishment but has 3 tables outside for you to enjoy your sandwiches. The young lady who took our order was friendly and pleasant and one of the owners (the mom) chatted with us. Our experience was wonderful. It reminded us of our visits to sandwich shops in Firenze. Panini deliziosi!

In the restaurant business, we all have a switch: once the doors open, it flips. Until then, you're seeing people exactly as they are. This team is genuine. Hands down. Yes, I know, I'm technically here for a king cake. Standing in line for a king cake from a famous fried chicken company almost feels satirical. But watching the entire team sit down together for a meal an hour before service told me everything I needed to know about the leadership and the values of this company. People matter here. You can see why the sandwiches are as good as they are. You can feel why the king cake is worth the wait. This team operates like a family; kind to one another, intentional, and connected. The food is made with care because the people are cared for. I'm not here to review the food (which is phenomenal) or the king cake. I'm here to review the brand. This is the kind of business we should be proud to support as a community. Keep it up.

The oysters are sooooo huge and shrimp were plentiful. The taste was definitely on point, somebody in that kitchen understood the seasoning assignment. I love that they have a wide variety of food selections and they appear to be more of a homestyle preparation as opposed to inconsistent fast food junk. Service was exceptional and pleasant and I tried the drive thru but it's a tight squeeze for a Toyota Sequoia. You certainly can't speed thru there or you'd end up in the wall next door. Overall, I will return to try something new but when something is so good, I hate to deviate to something else lol.

We have driven past Short Stop many times but never thought about eating here. You order at the counter, and your sandwiches are made by the person who takes your order. Then you visit the cashier to pay for your sandwiches and drinks. First of all, I have tried coleslaw all over this city. Their version is delicious. It has a nice crunch as the cabbage is not swimming in dressing. We each got a 6 inch seafood poboy dressed, one oyster and one shrimp and shared them both. Their prices were very reasonable. The bread has a nice crunch. Both had seafood that was perfectly fried and tasty, but the oyster may have had a slight edge. We would definitely visit again to try other sandwiches.
