From my perspective, everything was set and moving forward. Fast forward to the week of my event, I followed up to confirm pickup--only to be told there was no order because they "never received my reply." I understand that technical issues can happen, but this left me scrambling last minute to find an alternative for an event I had been planning. While I did receive an apology, I was also told it's "unrealistic" to follow up with customers who don't respond. Unfortunately, in situations like this--especially when it involves custom orders and time-sensitive events--some sort of confirmation system or follow-up would go a long way in preventing exactly this kind of issue. Not to mention I only ordered a dozen of cookies and was still not accommodated after showing I did respond well in advance. Overall, this experience was frustrating and stressful. I can't speak to the quality of the cookies, but from a customer service and communication standpoint, this was very disappointing.

So when it came time for husband's birthday recently, I wanted to surprise him and his small office with some cupcakes. I just didn't have the time to bake 3 dozen cupcakes and hand deliver them. That's where Fairy Cakes Bakery came to the rescue. Fairy Cakes Bakery specializes in gourmet cupcake deliveries. Brilliant! I e-mailed Kerena at FTB on a Sunday and she responded immediately. I needed the cupcakes on Tuesday, which was no problem. Kerena was very helpful via e-mail and they delivered the cupcakes when promised with very cute packaging and a hand-written note. I ordered red velvet, black and white, and raspberry vanilla, which were all a huge hit with my husband and his co-workers. My husband brought one of each home and I thought they were pretty good. The cake part was a tad dry, which I find to be such a common problem with most cupcakes, but the icing was delicious. And at $2.50 a cupcake, I thought they were a deal. Two downsides: There is a $15 delivery charge BUT they do hand deliver them anywhere in Orange County and the Inland Empire. It's the cost of convenience, I say. Also, when you order a dozen cupcakes, they must be of the same flavor. That wasn't a big deal for me, but it might be for others who might want more variety. I think Fairy Cakes Bakery is a great way to go if you want to surprise someone with a treat and/or not deal with going to Sprinkles or Susie Cakes (and spending at least 50-75 cents more per cupcake). Cupcakes: my idea of an edible arrangement.

I have continued to get cakes over the past several years for all of our celebrations. I got a cake this past weekend that just reminded me how much I love this place. Somebody always carries my cake to the car for me, and makes sure it will be safe to drive. My cakes are always ready on time. I take it all for granted, but this weekend it just hit me how much they go out of their way with customer service. Every time I go there, even when they are busy, I only wait maybe a couple of minutes at the most before somebody helps me. I really appreciate that! Too many times I go somewhere that is short staffed. I have never had that here. The people who work here are always kind and patient with me as I figure out what design I want on my cake. I was expecting really deliciousness from here but instead a bunch of frosting in my birthday cake. Was disappointed to say the least though it looked really pretty was expecting more cake. I had the red velvet cake- it was average honestly would if rather had Costco's velvet cake which taste better and less expensive than here. I think if you want a wow cake for presentation then we are at the right place but as far as taste goes... Average. No WOW factor in taste just a lot of Frosting in my mouth. From my perspective, everything was set and moving forward. Fast forward to the week of my event, I followed up to confirm pickup--only to be told there was no order because they "never received my reply." I understand that technical issues can happen, but this left me scrambling last minute to find an alternative for an event I had been planning. While I did receive an apology, I was also told it's "unrealistic" to follow up with customers who don't respond. Unfortunately, in situations like this--especially when it involves custom orders and time-sensitive events--some sort of confirmation system or follow-up would go a long way in preventing exactly this kind of issue. Not to mention I only ordered a dozen of cookies and was still not accommodated after showing I did respond well in advance. Overall, this experience was frustrating and stressful. I can't speak to the quality of the cookies, but from a customer service and communication standpoint, this was very disappointing.

The host had organized everything with the staff. The store was kind enough to teach our class after store hours. Thank you staff you rock. They have candy mold, chocolate melts in many colors, cake toppers, an array of cookie cutters. I even bought bulk pretzel sticks. With the clear packaging I could see that the pretzels were in perfect condition none were cracked for the treats that I wanted to make for a Halloween camping event. Because I don't live in this area I made quite the purchase that included the tools to make the cake pops we made in class! The instructor and assistant, Danielle and Vivian were outstanding and patient with our group of ladies. We got to meet Wendy another team member of Pila's and also got to meet the wonder. Great customer service with each of them. I would love to take a look at some of the other classes they offer! I would definitely make the drive. The vibe in this store is awesome, yes I will be back. Oh, and they offer tasty and beautiful candied apples! I forgot to take pics. Trust me they're pretty delicious looking! We got one, but I had forgotten it. But I was told by some of the gals in the group that it was tasty.
