We ordered takeout from Wah Wok for dinner last night and it was literally inedible. We got Orange chicken, chicken pad Thai, egg drop soup, and strawberry boba. The chicken in both dishes was soggy and chewy, we found ourselves questioning if it was even actual chicken. The flavor was completely off in both dishes as well. The egg drop soup tasted weird as well. The boba pearls in the strawberry boba were all frozen and super chewy and it overall just had a weird flavor. We ended up throwing $50 of food in the trash, we couldn't even eat it. On the upside, the service in the restaurant was great and the employees were very nice. I've been coming to Wah Wok since 2007 or 2008, and it has remained one of my favorite spots for Chinese food in the area. The food is consistently delicious -- whether I'm sticking with my usual Mongolian Beef or branching out to something new like Kung Pao Chicken or Shrimp with Garlic Sauce, I'm never disappointed. The service here is excellent. The staff know me by face and always greet me with a smile. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers, and that kind of personal touch keeps me coming back. Oh my gosh... We picked this place because it was close to some friends house and we were going to have dinner together... First and foremost the food was absolutely incredible... We ordered a huge array of different kinds of food so that we had a little bit of a Buffet style on our delivery... the food was stellar... You know it's good Chinese food when my husband actually comments on it because he's kind of a picky guy.... One of the few Chinese restaurants in the Frederick/Firestone area. I ordered the lo mein and beef and broccoli. I enjoyed the lo mein- it was what I was expecting on style and flavor of noodle and the veggies that come with it. I've ordered this dish again on my second time. The beef and broccoli was not what I was expecting. The flavor was slightly off (almost a stir fry taste, couldn't quite put my finger on it) and more importantly it came w a bunch of other veggies aside from broccoli (water chestnut, carrot, onion, bell peppers- things you find in stir fry). I wouldn't order this dish again. I'm willing to try more dishes in time when I'm craving this cuisine and restaurant. They are always quick on fulfilling the order. If you're an egg foo yong fan, Wah Wok has the best. I've been living here in Colorado since 2000 coming from the Chicagoland area and I could not find great egg foo yong in spite of trying many different restaurants. I missed the finest egg foo yong from the Chicagoland area. Wah Wok Chinese food is very good. My friend had sweet-and-sour chicken, the portions were so filling with extras to take home. We've gotten takeout from Wah Wok several times and haven't been disappointed. Food has been relatively delicious and not bland, and has good spices. The owners are friendly when you pick up for a carryout order. My wife usually will get drunken noodles and I generally will get Kung pow chicken and with the portions we usually have enough for dinner and lunches the next day. Crab Cheese Wontons are also good for an appetizer with sweet and sour sauce. read more

I would like to give this place a 5 stars for their food BUT ... It is my personal gripe about them charging 50 cents for every hot oil request you make with a takeout. Yes, it is a take out but do they charge extra for hot oil for a dine-in as well? I doubt it. I have ordered extra spicy food from this location before without any issues. In my last order for Extra spicy soup, the lady taking my order, said they would include a hot oil with the regular soup. Not only was I charged 50 cents for it, but when I arrived home, there was no hot oil included in the bag. It was not worth it to drive over 10 miles to pickup a small hot oil cup. Lived in this town for as long as this place has been here. For the most part, it's Chinese food. I've had worse. Most of their menu is pretty good. Tonight the Mongolian beef was sup par. Zero spice & flavor. They ALWAYS skimp out on the soy sauce, hot mustard and Fortune cookies! I mean come off it already! Anyways, I know some people love it, but that just because they don't know what good Chinese food is. Here are my reasons to skip this place: -All chicken dishes are fatty as ever (think octopus) -The dumplings might definitely be from roadkill -Boba comes with about 10 pearls that were clear in color and still frozen -They don't know how to make their food "Spicy' -The entree sauce is watered down -They do not know what vegetables are in their entrees We had to throw both of our entrees in the trash. read more

This place is a bit of a hole in the wall, and most asian hole in the walls are pretty good. A shame this place doesn't live up to the standard :( The thai spring rolls weren't that great. Filled mainly with shredded lettuce instead of rice noodles. Ingredients didn't taste that fresh. The hot and sour soup was average, so I'd order that again. The appetizer sampler was ok but 4 fried wontons seemed a bit excessive given that usually they're served as a topping for soups. Instead, now you have them as giant fried crackers on their own. My girlfriend said the cashew chicken was "ok". I had a bite and indeed nothing very good or very bad about it. The pan fried noodles though is where I have a more serious issue. The noodles were barely fried. In fact, it wasn't fried at all except for the edges. They drown it in sauce that wasn't particularly flavorful. Back to the noodles not being fried, they were far too soggy for the amount of sauce present. The protein bits tasted like they had been sitting in the fridge a bit too long. This place didn't make me sick, and the service was fine, but I wouldn't go back for the food. read more

Frankly, I am a little surprised I am writing a positive review. The place is never crowded and it is a small town in the middle of nowhere. Who would have thunk it has good Chinese (even compared to San Francisco). The menu is a relatively standard Chinese menu. They execute well and have a few things I haven't seen or only seen a few times. They are always friendly, timely, and can not really ask for much more given the scenario. The long menu is pretty standard for a Chinese place, but an annoyance I have. If they executed on an elevated the menu by shortening it and a few custom creations or fusion dishes, I would be a 4 or 5 star rating. The challenge is they would probably lose much of their business so they are doing everything they should. Another bonus: they deliver! This is one of my regular spots to get food. Mediocre food. Didn't get what I ordered and was WAY over charged based on prices in the menu I was given and took home. Ordered egg rolls and received spring rolls. Crab cheese wontons with sweet & sour was good. State and local taxes accounted for like 6.8%, was charged $23.50 for $19 of food according to menu prices. So be cautious if you're on a budget or don't like being over charged by 25%-ish Realized how badly everything was messed up and how much I was over charged after I drove home. No itemized receipt was given at any point so I know what I was charged for, just a receipt that I was charged. It was late for me, probably 8:30pm and past my bedtime, I was hungry, I ate it and will NEVER return. Tried eating it for lunch and ended up chucking most of it. No point in calling to complain because I wasn't driving back and I surely didn't want more mediocre food. read more
