First time in Boston, found this place by the hotel I was at. Very nice place. Meatball appetizer was excellent. Pizza and pasta dish did not disappoint. Busy restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Great service

Came to The Salty Pig for dinner around 5pm on a Saturday and got lucky with immediate seating despite not having a reservation. We ordered the Salsiccia pizza and the linguine. The linguine was on the smaller side portion-wise, but it came loaded with mussels and shrimp. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the sauce had a nice tangy, flavorful profile that really stood out. The Salsiccia pizza was good--plenty of toppings for its size and a well-balanced amount of cheese and sauce. What kept it from being great, if I'm being a bit hyper critical, was the crust. It leaned too doughy and lacked the crispness and airy texture you'd expect; the closest comparison I can think of is something like an Olive Garden breadstick. Service was okay--nothing particularly impressionable--but the ambience made up for it. The space felt warm, trendy, and like the perfect spot for a casual dinner. Overall, a solid spot with well-executed dishes, especially the pasta, and a pizza that's definitely enjoyable with just a small detail holding it back from the next level.

Originally wanted to come here to try their pasta, but unfortunately wasn't able to make the timing to arrive during dinner. Instead I ordered their prosciutto board and got their prosciutto, sausage, and pimento cheese. The waiter explained that most of their ingredients are fresh from the local area, and certain ingredients are imported from Italy. Honestly, it was just a great board overall. The prosciutto was soft and had a delicate texture to it. The bread was toasted, but not crunchy enough to make it difficult to pair with the cheeses or meat. Overall just a great spot, would love to come back sometime and try their pasta.

Great patio - our waiters were all super nice, friendly and attentive. We ordered salty pig (for obvious reasons - if it's named after the restaurant you should probably get it) and it was FANTASTIC, we wished we would've ordered two of those. We also had the cucumber ceasar salad - the waitress advice that we add prosciutto and it was fantastic! I'm almost certain we could live off of that alone. They also had a fabulous NA rose that I wish I would've gotten the name of, my friends agreed that it tasted like the real deal.

Very large servings of meat on the charcuterie board. Beware if you order alone. Delicious. Pizza tasty with crispy crust. Pasta devoured by my son and great according to him. Second time here and it didn't disappoint. Great location in Back Bay.

    Pizza - really good!

I really enjoyed the food here! It has a casual but trendy and upbeat vibe. We ordered the hot honey sopresseto pizza, meatballs, linguine with mussels and shrimp, rigatoni with pork bolognese, and bucatini. The pizza was so good! The sauce is the star of the pizza. It has a good balance of tanginess, spiciness and sweetness. The meatballs were phenomenal! It was so good that we placed a 2nd order.

Margherita Pizza with sausage and mushrooms! Yum!

From the moment we walked in the service was amazing. The hostess sat us right away and we were able to order fairly quickly. Our server was kind offered options and was patient with our order, especially since we had children that we were ordering pizza. Although it took a little time for the pizzas to be made, we could clearly see that they were being made by hand and that they were being prepared in a traditional fire. Overall, the pizza was fantastic and especially the pizza that My Daughter ordered, which was the Margherita pizza with the sausage and mushrooms. Sausage is made in house and with the mushroom combined just created a delicious pizza. Even hours later having a cold slice felt like heaven.:)

My family and I came here for lunch. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. The restaurant was bright and clean. Our server Cedric was amazing. He was attentive and knowledgable. We ordered the Margherita and salsiccia pizza and they were both very tasty. We liked the salsiccia pizza so much, we ordered another one! Highly recommend this restaurant. Food was fresh, hot and delicious.

Amazing food and fun location! The price is amazing for what you get. The drinks are also fun and delicious. Really loved the prosciutto. And the pizza is top 3 in Boston for me (and I've tried a lot!). Only downside is it can get really busy, so make a reservation for weekends. The hostess was a little rude to us, but it was busy so I understand.

Don't skip the build your own charcuterie boards! Great assortment of meats, cheeses (loved the goat cheese option), and mix of accompaniments (pickles, mustard, almonds!). You can really make the board your own. Pizza was also awesome. Service was attentive and super friendly. Staff were quick to get refills, things when we needed it, answered questions about menu, etc. Restaurant has an outdoor patio and indoor seating. We sat inside which had a lively vibe. The kitchen is open so you can see the chefs in action making your pizza, which is fun! Highly would recommend if you are looking for good Italian food in the area.

I've been to salty pig a couple of times and it's always a solid spot. The charcuterie was my favorite part of the menu and it's nice that they give you unlimited fresh grilled bread. The salad and pizza were both good but didn't blow me away. It's definitely worth coming here and trying it for yourself though!

Came for their pizza, but left more impressed with their chicken piccata. Don't get me wrong, the pizza was still good, but just felt like something was missing. It tasted pretty bland and thank goodness for chili pepper flakes, because that saved the day. Chicken piccata on the other hand, was delicious. The chicken was so juicy and not tough at all! I didn't really enjoy the arugula salad that came with it though. It was too sour for me but my husband really enjoyed it. Service was so so. I liked how they leave a whole bottle of water at your table so you can just refill yourself.

"Keep on with the forth, don't stop/don't stop until you get enough~" What mischief could a restaurant with Michael Jackson's music possibly have? Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)

Food was amazing- so please know I would absolutely go back for the food! We had lobster bisque, the best Caesar salad (top 5), calm chowder, shrimp and clams, lamb and a fillet. During our meal just after the lovely table side service of the lobster bisque my son accidentally moved the table with his feet and the drinks flew into my food. Our server watched it happen and walked away. She turned not to help but out of disgust walked the other way! The food runner came to the rescue! But then we were charged for another drink that spilled! I don't know but when your at fine dining and you get double charged for a table moving and treated like you are an inconvenience that gets me. Plus she was clearly angry with us. Food 5 stars, service 2, price for the service we received totally not worth it. Don't waste your money to get treated badly. Sorry kitchen but front of the house ruined it.

From start to finish, we had an amazing experience here. We ate here on Sunday. They open at 11:30am. Around opening time, the owner came out and personally greeted everyone as they came into the restaurant. He was so friendly. He greeted passers-by on the street and talked with the locals. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. They provided recommendations and offered suggestions. We sat at a window table and were able to see out at the boats. It was cute and quaint inside! I got a cup of the clam chowder. I 100% recommend it! They add dill and omit the pork, which made it so delicious! My friend and I split the fish and chips, and it was more than enough for two people. The fish was cooked perfectly and the fries (chips) were crispy without being too crunchy. We added a bit of pepper to our fish, and my goodness does that make a difference.
