I've a long, mostly good history w/ Tasty Goody- We usta frequent their West Covina branch on Azusa when we lived in Hacienda Heights. I knew right away that certain Tasty Goody hallmarks -like prodigious amounts of food that oughtta send Panda Express quivering into their corner- have withstood the 25 yrs since we moved from Hacienda Heights... Ravenous, I tabbed their 3-meat combo and went with all fried rice (better to coat my meat with!), double BBQ Pork and single Orange Chicken. The attendant, a diminutive Asian lady with no name tag but an oversized Notre Dame hat¹, was super friendly and even took the time to douse my BBQ pork in a ladle or two of the unctuous cooking broth before funneling it into my takeout platter. The tastes are exactly as I remembered- To paraphrase another Yelper, "You're gonna get your share of oily and salty," but dammit, the food is immensely sticks-to-your-ribs satisfying. So long as you're not expecting pinky-finger uplifted, snotty nose scenting at the air, Michelin Star caliber of food...then you'll do just fine at Tasty Goody. The ambiance was, for 9pm on a FRI night, fine. You'll stroll into a well lit lobby peaked by standout ceilings with their sharp, aquiline black + white affects. Terrible customer service and an incorrect order. I ordered a 2-meat combo with white steamed rice, rice noodles, Mongolian beef, and orange chicken. When I got home, I found chop suey vegetables instead of rice noodles, forcing me to drive all the way back.When I returned, they tried to give me back my original, now-cold food with a separate container of noodles. When I asked for a fresh, warm meal due to their mistake, the older female worker snapped, "What do you want?" She then started yelling in her native language to her coworkers, causing a scene just because I wanted my order fixed.As I left, she rudely yelled, "Next time check your food!" completely shifting the blame to the customer. I walked out respectfully, but the lack of professionalism is appalling. Even when I arrive near closing, there's still a lot of entrees and they're always wiling to make more. The food can a bit on the salty and oily side, nut it's very satisfying. The service was prompt, friendly and personalized. The portion sizes are humongous (I hope they don't take this review as an excuse to downsize them!). The dining area and general ambiance look above average for this kinds of establishments. I wish they had the rooster brand sriracha bottles, soy sauce and white pepper as table condiments. Still, Tasty Goodie Express is probably one of the top Chinese American takeouts in the Pomona area. I think their egg rolls should be $1.75 or 2 for $3. Oh well, you can't have it all! One of my guilty pleasures is Americanized Chinese food so I wanted to try a new place. It's a no from me :/ While the portions are very very large for the affordable price, the food was very very tasteless. I ordered Orange Chicken, Jalapeño Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. Out of all of the them the Mongolian Beef had the most flavor. The orange chicken sauce was like most others but it shouldn't be called orange chicken if there's barely any chicken meat inside. It was mostly batter and chicken fat. The jalapeño chicken did not seem fresh at all so I regret getting it. Maybe the food would have been better if I asked to make it fresh. I actually felt pretty sick to my stomach after eating the food. I would not come back. I actually prefer Panda Express in terms of flavor... and you know that's saying something because Panda Express is not the best either. read more

This place is solid. The food always hits the spot and the food is consistent. I usually do the two meat combos and it's always just chow mien with orange chicken and beef broccoli. One of these is enough to feed two people and have some leftovers for the next day's lunch. This is not fine dining so this place does quantity over quality. This place used to be great. But ever since the main lady took over, it's gone downhill. She over packs rice into every part of the container, leaving less room for the meat items. She is rude and tries to confuse you into ordering more than you originally wanted. One time she didn't pack forks or chopsticks and I asked her to put some in the bag. She said (I am not about to impersonate an accent, that's just rude. But she did say it exactly like this) "You don't need it. You go casa (house in Spanish) and use your forks. Hahaha!" Way better than the normal Panda Express Chinese fast food places. The servings here are HUGE!! You can easily share with 2 people! They do not skimp on packing the food boxes. The food here is tasty and really cheap too! The owner is really nice also. She works the food counter herself. It is like typical fast food to-go places, on the oily and fatty side. I usually order the 2 item combo for $7 and I end up with enough food to eat for 2 or 3 meals depending on how hungry I am. I always get half fried rice and half chow mien. I also get the egg rolls all the time. They are 25 cents each for the veggie ones and even though I am never a fan of veggie egg rolls, these are seasoned so well and crispy that I am truly addicted to them! They also have large trays that you can order for parties that are also very reasonably priced. They also have soup and it is actually pretty good and cheap! Would I come here again? I would!
