I would give zero star if I can for this visit. I came here almost every week for lunch with my co-worker, I do know what's ingredients they offer in the pot and their portion size. 1st issue is They replace Taiwanese Pork Ball(Gong Wan) with a beef meatball and the waiter and waitress try to argue with me about beef ball is (gong wan) this is so ridiculous.....? 2nd issue their vermicelli that include in the pot is tiny bit and they also try to argue with me that their kitchen staff picked those ingredients and it's my problem that their portions are smaller than usual. 3rd issue their service issue, when dealing with customer complaints, they always try to defend themselves with clueless idea. Also, they close at 9:30 and they start cleaning at 8:30, this is also ridiculous, sweeping the floor while customer still eating? Tasty Pot always hits the spot. The best time to come is a weekday lunch because it's slightly cheaper and you get a free tea! You order through a QR code, which is pretty easy. I got my usual - lamb, but switch it out to the thai flavor soup, which pretty much tastes like tom yum. This is always a specific craving like when you want hot pot but don't want the hassle of having to constantly be cooking. The restaurant is pretty spacious and you usually get seated quickly even on the weekends. After you order your dishes on the phone, it comes out pretty fast and they give you all the drinks and sides almost back to back. My family really likes the a-cha tea drinks they have. I personally like the sweet milk with grass jelly and others we get are the Thai milk tea and mango green tea. Curry Flavor Hot Soup - My go to order every time. It has the perfect amount of heat, curry flavor and mild spice that I like. It also has a surprising amount of stuff in it: lots of meat, 5 - 6 fish balls and different vegetables that all soak up the soup really well. Lamb Hot Soup - A good meat flavor in the soup and it has additional things like seafood and rice cake which differs from the other one. The last few times we ordered this one, it did have less meat and ingredients than other ones we ordered though. I'm not sure if it's because I came in for dinner instead of lunch, but they forsure brought the heat. Ordered my usual Flaming Spicy Taiwanese Hot Pot and it was spicy. Hehe. Also, asked for my usual two sauce containers of chili oil. To my surprise, they have a new condiment on the table! It's a powdered seasoning. I dipped my meat into some as well as tried it in the broth and I loved the additional flavor profile it provided. Another thing to note is that they charge $1 for shacha sauce on the side. (I mean I get it...but wish it was complimentary.) Service is attentive as usual. They offer more broth and more water often. We grabbed a napkin from an empty table next to us because we needed more and one of the workers noticed and gave us even more napkins. Attentive af. Not sure why there are so many poor reviews of the service here. It's order via QR code at your table which is kinda typical at some places now. Actually it is a lot more prevalent in so cal than here but they do come by and refill soup and water if you ask so it wasn't too bad. Also had them put in the warriors game from a different channel and they did it so didn't have any issues with the service. But it's basically what it says, a mini already filled up hot pot with a little burner underneath. So I would say it is more similar to getting a lunch meal at a AYCE spot, like one plate of meat and assorted veggies and sides but all at once. Quality is fine and tasted decent. Interior probably could use a spruce up or different lighting but it was okay. Few tvs around playing sports so you can watch a game there if it is going on. It's a pretty big space but they actually closed off the back area when I was there so maybe not enough staff or trying to keep table cleaning to a minimum but it was getting where you would need to wait maybe 5 mins for a table to clear before getting seated but there was not a huge crowd waiting for seats either so wasn't much pressure to open that area. I love eating hotpot! Some of my fave spots are Ipot, Mokuku, and Seapot! I usually go in a group setting so I'm used to having a shared larger pot (with 2 different broths) and separate ingredients where we can divide, cook, and eat at our own leisure. My best friend was in town and we found that this Tasty pot was walking distance which was perfect since we also were bringing my baby in a stroller. We got there right around 11AM when they opened and we were the only guests there. My friend ordered the Stinky Tofu and I got the Taiwanese Supreme Spicy (medium spicy level) along with green tea. The ordering process was all on the phone via QR code and it was relatively smooth. The food came out sizzling hot and smelled so good. For my Tawainese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup, I kinda felt like they just put all the beef on the top to make it look like a lot but the depth is full of cabbage :( It felt like there was just so much cabbage everywhere. The meal overall was pretty decent but the service was definitely slacking. We only had one napkin per person on the table so I used the QR code to request for someone to get more napkins and also for water and no one responded. The food is good and the price is reasonable but I have two major issues about this place. 1. Why so much plastic even for dine in? The drinks come in a plastic cup even if you're drinking it there. Same with the cups for the dipping sauce. So wasteful and not environmentally friendly. 2. My second grip is the service. I asked for a lid for the sauce for my leftovers and the guys simply barked "No!". I already paid or I would have tipped less. I don't know what their problem is. This place used to be packed with a wait, but we didn't really have to wait at all on a Saturday night at around 8 PM. Mostly still the same place and flavors except you get plastic ramekins to make your own sauce in. The spiciness levels do feel like they vary depending on who's making it. I would NOT recommend getting their new item, the sizzling pot. We're a regular at tasty pot, service is good, and we usually get the same dishes each time. But we saw they had a new item, the sizzling pot dish. My bf gave it a try and thought it was mid. FYI the meat is raw when it's first on the sizzler which is fine but it should be cooked after a while since it's still hot. However, I think the meat was still kind of uncooked or something because my bf got food poisoning from it and had a huge upset stomach a few hours later and even threw up (a lot, it was gross). So based off of our experience (mostly my bf's) I would NOT recommend the sizzling pot but the other items are ok for the most part. read more
