Food 9/10 good options! Free sauce bar Service 9/10 quick service Ambiance 8/10 noisy but not too busy ~ music too loud.

Decent hot pot spot with individual soup pots and a loaded sauce bar. We had the meal for 2, which is $75 and found the value to be worth it for the amount of food and for a once in a while dinner. We both left very full!! We had the yuzu shio and creamy tomato soup which were both good, but I think the yuzu shio won because it went so well with the house ramen noodles we got with our set as well. The Prime Angus Black Short Ribs were the best cut we tried, it was fatty and beefy in flavor. I would skip the Toro Wagyu because it is almost too fatty! I liked how the set came with a lot of vegetables and tofu as well! Service was great and our waiter let us try some of the soup bases before we ordered which was very kind. The space is also very clean and open. We got parking right across the street because it was early!

We were craving hotpot, so I finally checked out Mumu Hot Pot, and I really enjoyed it! The space was really clean and open, with individual pots for each person! This spot is only à la carte. We order The Classic which serve for two people and comes: 2 x Soup base: Creamy Tomato (Sweet & Sour) and Mushroom 3 x Meat: Premium Black Angus Beef Short Ribs Boneless, Australia M9 Wagyu Chuckeye, and American Wagyu Beef Toro (40% Fat) 3 x Side: Shrimp Paste, Fish Ball with Roe, and Fried Beancurd Rolls 2 x Noodle or Rice: House Ramen and Udon 1 x Veggie Platter (Large) There's a sauce bar in the middle of the restaurant that was clean and organized. I have a nut allergy, and I appreciated that the server went to the back to check all the ingredients and confirm items that are nut free, then brought me sauces from the back just to be safe. The combo was more than enough to fill me and my partner! We left perfectly full! Between the two soup bases, we liked the creamy tomato soup base more than the mushroom. Everything was great, and tables were big enough to hold all of our food! One note: Parking can be tricky since it is right next to SFSU. Overall, had a good experience and great meal!

Found this gem through Yelp and was very impressed with the options! You can scan their QR code on the table to order. My husband and I got the combo that comes with 3 meats, 3 sides, 2 noodles and 1 veggie platter for $75. Plenty of food for 2 people! You could probably share it with 3 people if you came with a group. It's also nice that you have separate soup pots and it's lowered into the table so your table doesn't feel so crowded. We tried the tom yum and yuzu shio. Both broths were delicious! We ordered 2 of the short ribs and tried the lamb. I'd probably just stick with the beefs since the cuts were more with the beef! The establishment is very clean and the waiters are very attentive to check on you if you need more soup or water.

Walked in ~Sunday lunch time, was instantly seated and served. Very spacious interior, with a LOT of different options at the sauce bar. The food itself was very fresh and delicious!

One of the best hot pot restaurants I've been to! The quality of the meat is great, and I actually prefer their à la carte pricing since you can order exactly what you want. It's not AYCE, but the portions are generous, and each order comes with a good variety and amount of veggies. I also loved their sauce bar. It was very clean, organized, and easy to use. Having the sauces dispensed from spigots is honestly genius. Another thing I appreciated was how deep the individual hot pot stoves are, instead of just being a flat surface. It helps minimize broth splatter and makes cooking at the table feel much more comfortable. FOOD: 9/10 SERVICE: 9/10 AMBIANCE: 9/10 Parking is hit or miss, as it is tucked in between both SFSU and Parkmerced apartments.

First, I just want to say the interior design is so up my alley, rustic brown and beige. I came on a Monday night with one of my best friends and we were seated right away (we did have a Yelp res though). We ordered the Classic Combo for two, which came with, 2 soup bases, 3 meats, 3 sides, 2 noodles/rice, and 1 large veggie platter. & honestly, it was WAY too much food for the two of us, so it was definitely worth the price of $75! The broth was so flavorful and the wagyu quality was amazing. I also love how the pot is in the table so we don't have to reach so high to eat. The servers were super attentive and constantly came by to refill our water and soup bases without us even asking. They also have a self-serve sauce bar where you can customize your own dipping sauce, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place!!

Visited on 6/13/26, Oh my god.... so yummy!! I heard there was usually a wait at Mumu's (no reservations unfortunately) but we walked in and got seated quickly. There's a self serve sauce bar where you can make your own combination -- I recommend trying the satay at this location; it added a nice, salty meaty flavor to the sauce combo I had. You can order through a QR code, and from there you're able to select the meats, toppings, and broth you want. It isn't AYCE, but I think the pricing and the quality of the ingredients make it all so worth it. Everyone gets their own individual pot and cooker. So for my broth, I chose the Tom Yum -- I personally don't really like the tartiness and tomato flavor of the broth but I enjoy its spice. I do wish they had a spicy miso option .. But everything else makes up for this imo!! We got the wagyu beef options, the toro was definitely a favorite -- they were all great quality and fresh. Wasn't too fatty, and had beautiful marbling on each slice that was perfectly thin for shabu. For sides, I chose quail egg, fried beancurd sticks, and fishball with roe. It offers you a source of carbs -- which I will always choose udon... *_* hehe Food did take a bit to come out but that was because we were a party of six, so I didn't mind the wait too much. But when it did come, I love how they give you more toppings in your order -- like the addition of veggies like napa cabbage, spinach, bok choy, and broccoli then mushrooms like enoki and shiitake! For the toppings we ordered, they always give such a generous amount which I can appreciate because the platter we ordered is for two people after all. Still, it can be a lot and filling. Inside, tables do get filled pretty quickly but everything is clean and slick-- it feels quite cozy and warm and makes for a great atmosphere and experience to have hot pot with your loved ones. I definitely would come back here again for solo dining or with friends/family! Do not skip out here .. ^_^

Love this Mumu location. The interior is clean as always, and the service is great. Hardest part might be getting a table depending on the time of day, but the food comes out very quickly after you order. The classic combo for two can't be beat. My personal favorite is the house ramen here, the noodles are so chewy and bouncy when cooked properly! Their sauce bar offers such a wide variety of options, I always opt for a mixture of ponzu/minced garlic/green onion/sesame paste for something with a savory layered taste to it. This place is perfect to get your hot pot fix in if you're not looking for something too heavy. Everything is fresh, and I've never had any issues with ingredient quality.

I really like mumu hot pot so was super excited when they opened one in SF! I don't have to drive down to South Bay anymore. I usually get the yuzu shio broth for a light and refreshing broth. I have come to realize I tend to go for more beef than other proteins for hot pot and really like the short rib and the wagyu. It's nice because you get your own pot but can do a combo for two people to share the meat and vegetables. Had the shrimp paste add on and the fish add on, both of which were pretty good! The sauce bar is also pretty well stocked. I mainly keep my sauce pretty simple with garlic, green onion, cilantro, and ponzu but they have all the classic sauces including chili oil, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame sauce, sesame oil, ponzu, soy sauce, vinegar, sweet soy sauce, and even mushroom sauce. Also had no idea when I went the first time, but on my second visit, I realized that there is also a back seating area for this location! I did street parking near SF state but it looks like they're also having a parking lot around here... not sure about this part yet. Pretty attentive staff from both visits so far.

Walked in hungry, walked out borderline defeated. The meat quality here is the main event--thin slices, heavy marbling, cooks in seconds and just melts. You can tell it's not the cheap stuff. Broth options hit too, especially the spicy one--actually has depth, not just heat. What I liked most: everything feels dialed in. Clean setup, fast service, no waiting around awkwardly while your pot boils. Staff keeps things moving without hovering. Sauces bar is dangerous. Easy to overdo it, but when you get it right, it upgrades everything. Only warning--pace yourself. It's one of those spots where you keep throwing in "just one more round" and suddenly you're done. Solid 5. Would come back and make the same mistake again.

Got the single's meat set with sukiyaki broth (yum), wagyu beef chuck eye roll (yum), tilapia (good but would probably try something else next time), rice cakes, and udon noodles. I love that they also have a dipping sauce bar so you can make your own ponzu or soy sauce concoctions to your liking. I wish they gave more meat but I do enjoy that they give you lots of veggies and sides. Service was okay but kind of slow and they didn't bring our broth until they brought out the meat (usually places bring the broth first so it can boil before your meat arrives). Ambiance was very noisy because of a few screaming/crying kids but overall clean and parking was plentiful. I think this location is new.
