First, I just want to say the interior design is so up my alley, rustic brown and beige. I came on a Monday night with one of my best friends and we were seated right away (we did have a Yelp res though). We ordered the Classic Combo for two, which came with, 2 soup bases, 3 meats, 3 sides, 2 noodles/rice, and 1 large veggie platter. & honestly, it was WAY too much food for the two of us, so it was definitely worth the price of $75! The broth was so flavorful and the wagyu quality was amazing. I also love how the pot is in the table so we don't have to reach so high to eat. The servers were super attentive and constantly came by to refill our water and soup bases without us even asking. They also have a self-serve sauce bar where you can customize your own dipping sauce, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place!!

Got the single's meat set with sukiyaki broth (yum), wagyu beef chuck eye roll (yum), tilapia (good but would probably try something else next time), rice cakes, and udon noodles. I love that they also have a dipping sauce bar so you can make your own ponzu or soy sauce concoctions to your liking. I wish they gave more meat but I do enjoy that they give you lots of veggies and sides. Service was okay but kind of slow and they didn't bring our broth until they brought out the meat (usually places bring the broth first so it can boil before your meat arrives). Ambiance was very noisy because of a few screaming/crying kids but overall clean and parking was plentiful. I think this location is new.

Walked in hungry, walked out borderline defeated. The meat quality here is the main event--thin slices, heavy marbling, cooks in seconds and just melts. You can tell it's not the cheap stuff. Broth options hit too, especially the spicy one--actually has depth, not just heat. What I liked most: everything feels dialed in. Clean setup, fast service, no waiting around awkwardly while your pot boils. Staff keeps things moving without hovering. Sauces bar is dangerous. Easy to overdo it, but when you get it right, it upgrades everything. Only warning--pace yourself. It's one of those spots where you keep throwing in "just one more round" and suddenly you're done. Solid 5. Would come back and make the same mistake again.

I really like mumu hot pot so was super excited when they opened one in SF! I don't have to drive down to South Bay anymore. I usually get the yuzu shio broth for a light and refreshing broth. I have come to realize I tend to go for more beef than other proteins for hot pot and really like the short rib and the wagyu. It's nice because you get your own pot but can do a combo for two people to share the meat and vegetables. Had the shrimp paste add on and the fish add on, both of which were pretty good! The sauce bar is also pretty well stocked. I mainly keep my sauce pretty simple with garlic, green onion, cilantro, and ponzu but they have all the classic sauces including chili oil, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame sauce, sesame oil, ponzu, soy sauce, vinegar, sweet soy sauce, and even mushroom sauce. Also had no idea when I went the first time, but on my second visit, I realized that there is also a back seating area for this location! I did street parking near SF state but it looks like they're also having a parking lot around here... not sure about this part yet. Pretty attentive staff from both visits so far.

Not AYCE but generous portions and fresh ingredients make Mumu a must hit Hotpot spot! Ive been to the Foster City location but it was my first time at this location. Easy to find free street parking around, location feels super clean, new, and updated. Easy to order through our phones, food came out quickly. For 3 people, we ordered a combo for 2 and a single, and split it all. There was plenty of food for everyone, and even a little leftover! We all got our own pots of soup as well. Sauce bar was fresh and lots of options. Definitely recommend for your Hotpot fix around the city!

Loved Mumu hot pot!! I've been on the hunt for a great hot pot place for vegetarians and this definitely fit the bill!! I got the vegetarian combo for one and wow was it a lot of food! I got the tomato soup base and it was really flavorful! They had a good selection of sauces too which paired well with everything. My favorite item in the combo was the tofu skin! My favorite part of this place is all the soup bases are for individuals so I don't feel like I have to disturb my meat eating friends :) Highly recommend this place for vegetarians!!

@mumuhotpot.usa brings a minimalist, modern space designed for social gatherings--perfect whether you're catching up with friends or heading out on a cozy hotpot date. With individual hot pots, the experience is fully customizable: choose from a variety of rich broths, combo meals, and sauces so everyone gets exactly what they're craving. For meat lovers, the key cuts truly shine: * Wagyu Beef Chuckeye Roll * Wagyu Beef Toro * Wagyu Beef Flat Iron * Prime Black Angus Beef Short Ribs * Beef Tongue Balance it all out with fresh, healthy vegetables--leafy greens, assorted mushrooms, pumpkin, and soy products that make every bite feel just right. Add in their friendly, welcoming service, and you've got a spot made for sharing good food, great conversations, and memorable nights.

Convenient and fast service hot pot spot with everything you would need for a great hot pot experience! My friend and I went on a Friday afternoon and got The Classic combo ($75). The portions are plenty and definitely enough for two people to eat until they're full. We got these meats and sides: 1. Meats: lamb, wagyu, chuck eye -good portion of meat, thinly sliced, fresh -definitely should dip the meat in a sauce!! (You can make your own sauce at their sauce bar) 2. Sides: tofu skin, udon, cabbage, tofu, mushrooms, fish balls with roe, choy sum, broccoli and cauliflower -sides were fresh and clean, let them soak up the flavor of the broth 3. Soup bases: tom yum and creamy tomato -tom yum has a sour taste with a slight spiciness, good if you like sour soups -tomato base had a strong tomato flavor and was light, great if you prefer less spicy bases The inside of the restaurant feels clean and well-lit, and the seats were cushioned. It was also easy to ask for more broth and more water from the waiters. Ordering is also easy, as you order using a QR code (instead of a paper menu) and pay online. I think this restaurant can further improve by posting their menu clearly on a wall and decorating the walls with more art. I would also love for them to expand their sauce bar options to include fried garlic and dry peanuts. Overall, I was very satisfied with the food and would come here again if I was craving hot pot!

I love the Sunnyvale location and had no idea they also have one in SF near SFSU. The location is very spacious with plenty of tables. Parking can be a bit annoying though. The menu is a la carte or you can choose a combo (my recommendation). The two of us got a "Mumu Combo" and felt it was more than enough food. It comes with 4 meats and PLENTY of vegetables. I opted for the Sichuan Spicy broth, which definitely lives up to the name. My boyfriend got the sukiyaki broth, which was a bit too sweet and we would not get again.

I like this hot pot spot better than the one in in stones town. Better options for sauces and seasonings. Decent service, it's always crowded so even if it's just a party of 2 it might take a while. A worthwhile experience. Sometime it takes a while to get a server though.

I got the single combo with sukiyaki broth, short ribs (meat), with udon noodles, and I chose two sides (quail eggs and fish ball with roe). The base price was $33. The restaurant has a large condiment/ sauce bar, which I always enjoy - it had all the classics from green onion, sesame sauce, chili oil, etc. I parked for free in the neighborhood but i guess there is a parking garage in the building! I enjoyed my dinner here. I had leftovers and was able to take the veggies/ cooked meat home. It was a bright, open space with large windows, so a good place to catch up with friends. Standard, good hotpot!

The grill above the bar area sitting. Its full of grime n dirt

Hello I have eaten here particularly Pleasanton location numerous times like now I have lost the count. The food is Great n service too. But lately I noticed the cutlery the use is of melamine which is highly toxic to our health and has also been banned in many countries. They should take care of the utensils customers dine in. Because pouring steaming hot food on plastic ware is highly highly toxic and thats too Melamine. And above the bar area , the chimney is so dirty that the small particles keeps coming onto my plate. I m very particular on how I eat my food. Unfortunately I have to stop eating there though it was one of my fav place to eat , until they do the needful changes. Thankyou Neeru.

Hotpot around SF STATE with set menu. For a price of $75, a bit pricey especially since the surrounding area is mostly college students. The set menu is recommended for 2 people, you get 3 meats, veggie platter, and 2 small noodle or rice. I believe you should at least get a full size noodle or rice. Mango soju is good to share amongst a few people, does not taste like alcohol, so be careful. Sauce bar has a great assortment of ingredients to build a delicious sauce: chili oil, cilantro, soy sauce, green onion, peanut sauce, sesame oil is a great combo. The meat quality is higher in grade than other hotpot places. If you want more meat in your combo, it is $20 for 12 pieces of meat. Standard service, did pour hot water when my soup was getting low. The interior is super clean and modern, better ventilation than most hotpot places.

It honestly felt like we were ordering with a friend who just happens to know the entire menu inside and out. She gave amazing recommendations and even told us she makes the hot sauce from scratch (which... you can taste the difference). That level of care really set the tone for the whole night. Now the food... not a single miss. Seriously, not one thing we didn't like. We went with the Ultra menu ($108), which includes lobster, and it was 100% worth it. For broths, we chose the Tom Yum and Tonkotsu. Both were rich, flavorful, and perfect in completely different ways. The meat selection was incredible, especially the wagyu options, they literally melt in your mouth. You can tell the quality is top tier. The flame-torched wagyu nigiri was absolutely out of this world--perfectly balanced and paired with a wasabi powder that elevated every bite. We also had the hamachi cloud, which was so fresh, flavorful, and had the perfect crunch--such a standout dish. And the spicy clams? Easily one of our favorites. Super fresh, super tasty, and packed with flavor. Beyond the food, the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, which made the experience even better. The location is perfect. It's right in the center of Japantown. Inside they have a bar where you can sit and talk with the servers face-to-face. And it's a great spot to people watch while you eat. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. Between the incredible quality, the variety, and the next-level service. This is a spot I'll be coming back to again and again (and yes, I'll absolutely be asking for Irene).

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. We were all cramped waiting on the stairway and the actual seating area is also fairly small for a busy KBBQ place/big parties. The 8 of us squeezed into a booth with 2 chairs on the side. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy.
