Tasty P wasn't what it used to be and that's okay, or maybe they had an off night. With heavier reliance on the digital system, the only time the service staff interacted with us was to drop off our food and drop off the bill. No water refills, no broth refills, no "hi how ya doing", etc. Prices have remained stable though for years which was a pleasant sight to see with regular bowls being around $20 and the largest being around $23. The service gave me more of a Chinese restaurant vibe over a Tasty Pot experience but it is what it is. Maybe it is holiday fatigue setting in. Stopped by here on a Tuesday late afternoon for a party of 2 and didn't have any wait! I've been going to this Tasty Pot for many years and the pots/ experience never disappoints. We ordered the Kimchi Dumpling Soup and the Beef Hot Soup. I like that we can choose how spicy we want each pot to be and we also have the option of a carb with each soup (steamed rice or vermicelli). Both of the soups had so much flavor and the pots were a generous size and packed with ingredients. You can also choose some add-ons for your soup; my personal favorite is the roe fish balls! Staff members were attentive and the soups came out fast. Our server also asked if we wanted soup refills (a general soup base) whenever our soups were running low. If the soup gets too hot, you can also turn off the fire underneath the pot by moving the handle of the metal piece over the flame. There are really only 2 or 3 sauce options for the pots, but the soups are flavorful enough. My only suggestion would probably be for this establishment to use less plastic ie. the containers they provide us for the sauces are made of plastic as well as the drinking cups they give us. The rice had some kind of butter on top that melted into the rice. I ordered extra meat but couldn't tell if i actually got it or not. The meat portion still felt short. It's usually not too busy when I come here and the service is super quick. You order through a QR code and everything will usually come out within 5-10 minutes. Sometimes I do have issues accessing the menu via QR code to order but I'm guessing it depends where they sit me! I switch between getting the beef hot soup or the cheesy milk hot soup. The meat is tender and soup is flavorful. It's perfect on cold days which we all know is evident here in Daly City. While the quality of the food remains consistent every time I come (kimchi dumpling tasty pot for the win), I think the other components of the experience are starting to slip. They now automatically include 18% gratuity and so they care less about the customer service aspect. We had someone quickly put down our green teas and leave right away and again come back to quickly drop off our sides of rice and then leave right away again, we weren't able to ask them any questions. We finally were able to flag down one of the guys and ask for more napkins and waters (they only brought us 3 waters even though we had 5 people at the table). No refills on your green tea either, no coming by to ask if we wanted a top off of our broth. I've always been a fan of Tasty Pot, but I've only been to this Westlake location twice, while I've been to the Clement location in SF multiple times. I am normally a fan of their beef or lamb hotpot, which I feel like you can never go wrong with! I have always eyed their curry hotpot, but was too afraid to order it since I feel like curry can be a hit or miss, but the curry one is now my new stable order! I always get the spiciest level and the complimentary vermicelli, which now comes in a paper cup. I felt like the curry was really faint and the spiciness overpowered it so next time I'll get a lower spice level. I use the paper cup the vermicelli comes in as a bowl to put my food in and eat from it instead of directly from the hotpot so it can cool down a little before eating. If you come during lunch, your hotpot order comes with complimentary iced green or black tea. They also have boba and tea for purchase. I also saw that they now offer non-soup options with rice! Their menu is all online since COVID(QR code), so I didn't get a screenshot of it. The waiters also came by twice to offer us more soup, which I always accept because I love soup! You can order on your own phone, but the bill comes as a single bill. If you want to be around the crowds and heightened atmosphere then go to NB. For fast easy meal come to Daly City. You scan a barcode on the table to place your order via the app but we found it difficult to use given they have so many options so ask the wait staff to take your order instead. Regardless the food is great and for a one and done entree you can't go wrong. They have many one pot options at various price points. You can request 5 levels of spiciness from none to extremely spicy. They bring you the one pot (actually a small wok) entree with all sorts of meats and veggies in a savory broth you select. There is a sterno candle underneath to heat the broth and further cook the ingredients until soft and tender. In addition to the one pot they have add on meats or veggies to cook like hot pot in your broth. They will top up your both at no charge if you need more. They also have cold tea drinks and boba (I think) too. Great way for large parties to each have their own meal selection. To me not as good for family style but a one pot entree could be shared by two people. Just add a side dish and or appetizer to round out your meal. read more

My boyfriend disagreed, which makes me think the portioning is very inconsistent. For reference, we've been to various Tasty Pots across the Bay area, and I have to say this is one of the worst locations. Unfortunately for us, this is the closest one. Service was mediocre at best, as per usual. The waiters didn't greet us, speak to us, or check on us throughout our meal. It was very matter of fact rather than welcoming. I'm not sure why management can't train their staff to be more friendly. They are always somehow rushing around, but never really doing anything to help customers. It's just so strange. This last time, the bottle of sweet soy sauce we had on our table tasted like it had gone bad or been messed with. It was burnt / smokey and vinegar tasting, with weird chunks in it. This Tasty Pot location is on the outer edge of the Westlake Shopping Center, facing the street-side. There is a parking garage, which is pretty convenient. Not the best service, the employees were not friendly and they were very inattentive as well. I ordered their Beef Hot Soup, while my cousins ordered a variety of their other pots. Just like any other of their location, so our food was nothing spectacular. Just nice to have something warm for the cold SF / Daly City weather. Overall, the service was just horrible - they sat us in the other area / room away from the main dining area, so it was hard for us to get the attention of any of the employees about anything we need. I came here almost every week for lunch with my co-worker, I do know what's ingredients they offer in the pot and their portion size. 1st issue is They replace Taiwanese Pork Ball(Gong Wan) with a beef meatball and the waiter and waitress try to argue with me about beef ball is (gong wan) this is so ridiculous.....? 2nd issue their vermicelli that include in the pot is tiny bit and they also try to argue with me that their kitchen staff picked those ingredients and it's my problem that their portions are smaller than usual. 3rd issue their service issue, when dealing with customer complaints, they always try to defend themselves with clueless idea.
