Tastyland is a local restaurant that first opened in 1950 in Greensburg, and this location in Monroeville recently opened. It serves smash burgers, hotdogs, fries, ice-cream cones and sandwiches, milkshakes, parfaits, sodas, alcoholic beverages, and more. Prices are reasonable. My husband and I visited for dinner. I immediately felt impressed by the 1950s-style interior design, including a wall mural of classic cars, a classic ice-cream truck, and old-style chairs. The restaurant consisted of two floors. On the bottom floor, customers ordered foods and ice creams, and it was very packed with customers. The top floor had a bar and games, was for only customers who are 21+ years old, and had plenty of available seating. If you are an adult, I recommend sitting upstairs, even if you will not drink. The employees who took our order and payment and made our foods worked extremely slowly. Three customers were ahead of us in line, but we had to wait 30 minutes from the time of our arrival to when an employee gave us our foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Double smash burger - 4.5 stars - This burger could be customized with toppings and sauces. I chose American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and ketchup, but many others were available. I liked that the beef patties were not greasy. The brioche bun was toasted, and it had the Tastyland logo on it. Wagyu hotdog - 4 stars - Wagyu for a hotdog?! Wow! I got to choose the toppings, which were relish, onions, and mustard. We, however, did not like how the employee assembled the hotdog, for example, putting the condiments underneath the hotdog rather than on top and splitting the bun so the contents messily spilled out. Crispy fries - 4 stars - These fries were crinkle-cut. I read online that Tastyland cooks their fries in beef tallow. I paid extra for a side of cheese. Lickity Split Sundae - 5 stars - This sundae contained vanilla ice cream, banana, strawberry, pineapple, and chocolate syrup. I could have added more toppings and sauces if I had wanted. I thought that this sundae tasted delicious, but as expected, it did melt and drip all over, so be sure to get lots of extra napkins or to bring hand wipes. We did not play any games, but they looked fun. They included a pool table, a bubble hockey table, duckpin, slot machines, a huge Connect 4 (the black tokens were a challenge to see against the black wall, so they should paint the wall a different color), and more. read more

I really wanted to like it because they give is so cool and it reminded us of Cabana Bay at Universal Studios with its retro veneer. It was crowded downstairs so me and my 8 year old went upstairs. There was duck pin bowling and football and a big connect four. He was very excited but we were told upstairs is only for 21 and older so we went back down. I had checked their website to confirm there were any vegetarian options for dinner and I saw a grilled cheese so I thought we were good to go but that must have been the Greensburg menu because they only had burgers. We ordered fries and then came back for ice cream. We both got big Sundaes that were only 7.99 so that was super reasonable and the ice cream was good. read more

Located on the corner of Rt 22 & Stroschein Rd. Limited parking is available. Cool decor with a 1950's Ice Cream & Soda Shoppe vibe. Wide variety of Ice Cream flavors and toppings. The food menu is limited to Burgers n Dogs. The line is set up like a Made To Order selection, building your sandwich. An order of fries was $4 yet the portions were small. Unimpressed. I definitely expected more. Upstairs is the Bar area, 21+ only. It wasn't busy from what I saw but I haven't heard positive things from the bar area. Prices aren't reasonable. The service was decent. Cool concept but may return for an ice cream sundae with the kids but that's about it. read more

In the write up for tasty land it says the downstairs is an area for kids to enjoy to run around. kids can bowl with their parents. in another write up it said the first floor has arcade for kids. THE FIRST FLOOR HAS NOTHING BUT Hamburgers AND ice cream . there is nothing there for kids. you must be 21 to go upstairs. no kids allowed where there are games and bowling. we were very disappointed. but I did like their hamburgers and ice cream. so don't believe what you read. TASTYLAND HAS MADE IT TO MONROEVILLE!!! What a wonderful restaurant in food, decor, vibe, and entertainment. Bringing life into the area... Tastyland is what every community hopes for!! As you enter, the picnic tables and dark decor may catch you off guard... until you look up at the HUGE two story screen and realize that they created an indoor drive in!! Walk on over to the concession stands where they have a line for Make Yinz Own Burger orders and a separate line at the literal ice cream truck for your Tasty Treats in the Land of The Sweet!! I grabbed two single burgers with cheese, added the Tasty Sauce, and a side of fries! The buns already steal the show with the branded logo on the top bun and the theater of the butter roller and toaster!! The fresh smashed burgers sizzle on the grill right in front of you too. Not just for show, these burgers are If that wasn't enough, they created Tipsyland upstairs (you must be 21+ to go up) A full bar with floor to ceiling windows all around and entertainment in every corner. Pool table. Four lanes of duck pin bowling. A bubble hockey game with... of course... the penguins vs. the flyers. A party room. Such a fun new addition to Monroeville! The inside is very creative, the decor and vibe is so fun and classy! It feels like stepping into the past where times were simpler. I've only had the ice cream at this location, but it was delicious. The ice cream is so creamy and has really good flavor! This will be our new go to spot! I did not check out the bar upstairs but it looks and sounds cool from what I could see. The service was quick too which is nice! read more

This place has a very cool old school vibe. They have separate lines for savory and sweet food. We ordered our custom burgers, and later got some icecream from the sweet line. My burger was yummy. It's hard to go wrong with a smash burger. Crinkled fries were freshly fried. Service was helpful and prompt. I came with a minor so didn't get to visit their second floor. The first floor had ample seating. I would definitely come back and try other things on their menus. read more

The food was ok, burger was pretty good, fries were decent and ice cream was pretty good. We didn't get to experience the over 21 part cuz we had 4 kids with us but it was ok but I wouldn't write home about it. What sucked was there isn't many tables and when there is one you better hope you have wipes to clean it yourself, cuz they don't do that or empty the 3 completely full garbage cans. Everything you love about the OG in Greensburg, plus a bar and games. Incredible job. For those not in-the-know...Burgers are great. Like your cool uncle's July 4th burgers everyone talks about at Thanksgiving. Fries are unlike anything I've ever had, in a good way. UBER crispy but fluffy inside. These aren't duck fat Gastropub fries. Think middle school wavy fries but for foodies. Careful at entrance. Idiots thinking they're Vin D rounding that corner is dangerous but unavoidable. read more

Not gonna complain about the quality of the food. Burgers were delicious and the fries were hot and not greasy. That's the good news. Prices were ridiculous. Must be paying extra for the logo imprinted on the top of the bun. But $43 for 2 burgers with fries and a soft drink? I almost fell down. Also, the unsweetened tea had no flavor whatsoever. The slice of tomato on my date's burger was tiny, so why not a second one? And we both asked for onions on our burgers, but you couldn't taste them. Maybe they were old? The service at the counter was super slow. There has to be some way to improve that if this place gets busy. There was little to no atmosphere to speak of. Last word is that we could choose most sit-down places, get waited on, and tip for not much more than what we paid here. Can't see coming back here unless we have a gift card or something. read more
