The Bird & Sugar Combo - Tenders, fries, donut, dipping sauce
    Shane G.

Multi-day review. Food allergy: Nuts Food & Drink: - Mixed Drink(s): 2 / 5 To keep it short & simple, just order The Peachy Bird and thank me later. Everything else was a disappointment. "Order 2. Don't forget the tax. IYKYK" - Me Disclaimer: Whatever you do don't mix The Peachy Bird and the Mango Nest. You will only be severely disappointed and have less Peachy Bird to drink. - Food: 3.5 / 5 "Drinks are overpriced" - John 3:16 "Mac 'N' Cheese is alright" - My favorite distraction Entrée - What is the secret to making good fried chicken? Is it the breading? Is it the secret KFC recipe? Is it love or is it just MSG? Honestly, who cares, but the fried chicken at SugarBird is definitely the star. However, if you are craving a donut, head down to your local Walmart and grab a dozen of whatever they have at their bakery section and you'd probably enjoy it more than what is served here. They just feel a bit cheap. Lastly, the seasoning on the fries gets overwhelming in the combo, but ordered separately they're pretty good. "Chicken crunches like the plastic you rip off of a sealed container" - Joker Dessert - The worst fear any soft serve enthusiast has is the fear of the dreaded broken sign, but fear not. SugarBird currently doesn't have this issue, so luckily you get to enjoy all the unique sundaes they have to offer. Fair warning, avoid the Mango Toasted Coconut sundae as this abomination should be banned from ever being made. "Vanilla wafer cone is really good. Very creamy" - Swiper - Service: 5 / 5 Short on time? Looking for a quick bite? This is where SugarBird takes lead compared to other establishments in the area. With the assistance of technology, they are able to efficiently serve each customer with a short turnover time. - Vibe: 3.5 / 5 Quick and Casual is the vibe. If Chick-fil-A and Sonic had a baby this is the result. - Overall: 3.5 / 5 To be honest, this place has potential. There is a stage for live music and cornhole for those who drink only light beer. I'm interested to see if they actually do anything with that part. If you plan to wander the city for a day, without a thought in your mind, I recommend this place to stop in and grab a quick bite. Recommend? Yes

Very good, new eating establishment outside of PNC Park. The fun mix of chicken fingers and donuts is their gimmick, but both are great! Also, the sauces are a big plus! Definitely worth visting!

We had heard good things about SugarBird. While we were walking around the Northside, we decided to try it. We wanted a snack so we decided to try the donuts. My husband wasnt huge on his chocolate frosting. He thought it tasted a bit stale and the donut was too dense. I had the strawberry frosting and I thought it was moist and tasty. I would like to try the fried chicken sometime. The outdoor space was nice.

We stopped by yesterday evening and this was my first time. My friend split a sundae and the bird and sugar combo which is the perfect amount of food. The cost after splitting both items was very reasonable. You order food, ice cream, beer, and cocktails at different windows and counters which was a little confusing. We ordered our food via a screen at a kiosk and it was ready in no time. There is a good amount of seating at high tops that are covered but still open air. We really enjoyed our food. The tenders had a breading that must have had cornbread in it and that made it different from other tenders I've had before. The fries were a little bland but still crispy. The donut was dense and the sundae was pretty good.

    Chicken Sandwich and Donuts

The food here really surprised me. The chicken sandwich was made with two tenders as opposed to a breast but the chicken itself was really good and super crispy which I loved. The donuts were okay. The sandwiches were the stars for me. The service was good. They were super busy and just trying to get things out as quickly as possible. It's a good spot to watch a game or pregame a pirates game since it it right next to the stadium. It is outdoor seating.

Had such a great time seeing Steve Aoki at the plaza in north shore that's attached to sugarbird. We grabbed some food before leaving and honestly I did really enjoy it. Love the bucket concept. Will be back and looking forward to more shows and chicken this summer!

Rating Sugarbird experience as a 3.5 Star Experience. Food: chicken tenders were 5.0 amazing! They must brine the chicken so they're juicy and tender like Chick Fil A's, except they're chunkier and crispier than Chick Fil A's. The Mac and cheese is below average. The elbow macaroni was cooked well but the sauce and flavor wasn't my jam. Softserve ice cream was okay--super generous with toppings and I was a bit overwhelmed. Service was good. Relatively attentive. Location is good for ball games and concerts for sure. Don't love there's no truly indoor seating. They have shades/curtains that they use to help with elements.

New to the city sugar bird is perfect for the whole family. I mean Who doesn't love chicken, ice cream,donuts...Booze&Brews! The chicken pairs perfectly with their house made RANCH!!! They offer a bunch of other sauces as well .the fries were good and crispy. & No shade to the Mac but it was lacking flavor. But THE DRINKS....( mango margarita chilled or frozen 10/10) The vibes are Great, the area is convenient and local. If you're going to a baseball game & want to grab a bite before heading to your seats sugar bird is perfect for a Quick bite and good vibes on the go. customer service is amazing and friendly they're very attentive to everyone!! Next time you're on the Northshore make sure you check them out.

Fun concept and unique take on the traditional chicken and waffles. Located in the North End by PNC Park. Reasonable prices. Lots of different options and ways to order a little of everything! They also have soft serve! Parking is a little tricky. There is a covered space outside with heaters for when it's cold. Service was quick and efficient. Staff were friendly and helpful. Donuts were from Duck Donuts.

My friend and I stopped by on opening day to check out this new concept from the team behind Palm Palm and Ritual House. You order food and non-alcoholic drinks on touch screens, then pick them up at the counter, or sit down for service if you prefer. There's a separate bar for booze & brews, as well as a huge outdoor plaza to hang out. I enjoyed a delicious frozen strawberry daiquiri, and will definitely be back for some yummy eats!

The food was hot, fresh and tasty! It was opening day - so the service was top notch. I do hope that it lasts and that they keep staffing high. Really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor ambiance. Great tunes. I didn't enjoy the Mac and cheese and the drinks were not very strong - but kids and dogs are allowed, so that's a plus!

Chicken finger combo with a mocktail and cocktail
    Vanessa G.

The service here is super fast. You can't order a mocktail or cocktail at the kiosk though, you have to order it at the bar or table. The chicken was flavorful and they give you a decent amount of food for the price which was 13.75 for the bird and sugar combo. The donuts were good but nothing super special. I definitely recommend their signature sauce.

They have two lanes, but when I was there only one was open (so there was a slight wait). You could actually clearly hear and understand the person through the speaker which doesn't always happen. The menu is fairly limited (you can basically only get chicken tenders or a chicken sandwich) so the only choice is how many fingers and if you want a combo or things individually. I chose a three piece box which comes with a piece of bread, the tenders, crinkle fries and a sauce. While I really enjoy their fries and think their chicken strips are great, it is a bit pricey for fast food. Generally, though, the process was easy, my order was right and the place looked clean.

We decided to go inside because this location had the worst parking lot and drive through I've ever experienced. There isn't a lot of room to ride around and get the proper format of getting through. It's designed kind of off. So you have to be careful of you end up back on the road and having to drive further away to come back on the right side. It's easier to park and walk inside. Anyway ... the ambiance was nice. Everyone was friendly and efficient. We selected the box meal which consisted of 4 fingers and fries along with a drink. I'm not the biggest chicken finger fan. These were good but nothing exceptional. The sauce makes the meal. The sauce is really the star of the show. It's a chipotle, old bay type flavor that has an awesome taste. We were headed back on the road, so it served as a great meal to be on the go. The restaurant was very clean and all the items you needed were on the counter and fully stocked.

Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!

The level of customization might be a draw for some. For me, to have no "signatures" or recommendations, no preferred combinations, and just a sort of "pick it" approach for this feels strange. Asked for some direction, was basically told "no." They specialize in hot chicken and customization - but it feels like they are clearly missing a refreshing option beyond the Dill Pickle. Could see if I didn't want to "feel a burn" and wasn't big on pickles looking at very plain options. Frankly, they need someone new on the register. Other reviews mention poor service that way. I echo their feelings. Underwhelmed and turned off by them. Also, this is overpriced. Getting a diet coke for $3.5 is aggressive but at any restaurant I'd understand - get me free refills, fine. But to be handed a single can for that cost felt awful. Feel like they've taken that approach across cost and experience across the board. It's upsetting. If they really switch things up, I'd reconsider trying this spot again. Chicken was good and in the salad it was fine. I see potential. But I'm not coming back for the cost or the service here.
