First time here. Ordered the ackee and saltfish with boiled dumplings, oxtail with rice and peas and a beef patty. Everything was on point. Definitely will be back. Thank you.

    Mac and cheese

Outstanding! A true hidden gem owned by a lovely couple who cook together everyday. Not only is the food out of this world but their chemistry together make the experience that much more special. The food is pleasantly flavored with just the amount of spices and character. Every bite brought a smile to my face. While it isn't really a dine in establishment they welcomed me to sit at a table and served me on china with real flatware. It is an open kitchen and I watched as they prepared multiple meals for pick up, take out and Uber Eats. Every dish was prepared fresh and with care. I plan on making Coco's a regular spot when I crave the best Caribbean food.

    $101 on disappointment food

I've never been so disappointed in my life! The fact that people on instagram and tik tok ripped and raved about this restaurant is crazy. The food lacks flavor for sure and the amount of food they give for the price is nuts! First off the oxtail was so tuff! Not edible. $24 for what!? I asked for Rasta pasta and got Alfredo which was also lacking flavor. The stew chicken was not in any type of sauce/stew. I had 4 pieces of chicken back that was cut up. The cabbage wasn't good. Lacked seasoning. As well as the collard greens and Mac. Highly disappointed in the food quality. Salt and pepper go a long way. I've had my share of Caribbean food and this not it! I do however appreciate the staff being so friendly and welcoming. As to why I'm going to give 2 stars.

so Ive seen this places wanted to try it out first time I went they was closed and during business hours no reason why on ig the door nothing, second time I went I was able to order. I order the salmon with Mac nd cheese and candied yams...the food was such a disappointment the salmon was under cooked still raw in the middle the Mac and cheese tasted like idk but it wasn't Mac AT ALL and the candied yams well it taste li canned store yams right out the can dry not sweet at all like coulda added brown sugar vanilla something! I had shared let my coworker take some and he was like you need to get your money back, i was so upset I had to throw it away! Maybe other stuff is good here but not what I ordered.

I came here to say this place is false advertising that they are open until 9pm. It's a Wednesday I drove 40 mins to try the seafood Wednesday special and they are closed!I pulled up to someone up stairs looking down on me... I really hate when restaurants do that!

The staff were friendly and attentive, and I had the chance to meet the owner, Bobby, who was very approachable and took the time to introduce himself. My interactions him and his team I would rate 5-stars. I value supporting Black-owned businesses, which made the visit even more meaningful. One piece of constructive feedback: I ordered fried whiting, and the fish I received did not appear to be whiting. The fish was okay overall, but I would have appreciated being informed if it was unavailable so I could have chosen something else. I'm currently avoiding red meat, chicken, and pork and eating fish only during this Lenten season, so I'm especially particular about my food orders. Because of that, not receiving what I requested was disappointing. For that reason alone, I'd rate the food 3 stars. Because the overall experience was pleasant, I will give a 4 star rating--as I do plan to return to explore other items on the menu. I might order the whiting again, but will confirm the order before leaving and will return to sample more of the menu, especially since my parents love barbecue.

Even as the hostess was assisting another guest. She made sure to acknowledge that we entered the space, and the customer service continued at that level from entry to exit. The set up is cool. Has a restaurant, lounge and event space blend. Perfect for multiple opportunities to cover a patrons needs. On to the food. We ordered food to go. We tried different options as there were four of us. Portions were plentiful and packed well. My son says he really enjoyed the bbq burnt ends. I tried the ribs and Mac and cheese, my wife the pulled pork and spicy cabbage. Rounding the order out was mom, she tried the fried chicken dinner with cabbage and yams. I'd say the only item we didn't quite enjoy was the potato salad, left a little to be desired but all in all, everyone enjoyed their meals. I'm certain it would have been even better had we eaten in the restaurant as the food was freshly made.

My boy and I are there pretty much every Sunday during NFL season, and honestly, we sneak visits in during the week too -- sometimes just us, sometimes with the wives, sometimes grabbing food to bring back home. The vibe is always cool, welcoming, and family-oriented. Jerry, the owner, is cool as hell and treats people right. The whole staff really does. Danielle, Jordan, Jose -- all love. Now let's get to the food. The whiting? Amazing. The catfish? Amazing. The fried lobster? AMAZING. The shrimp? Always on point. The mac and cheese is easily a 4 to 4.5 out of 5. I'll never say somebody's mac is better than my mama's, but theirs is dangerously close. The collard greens are solid too. Me personally, I like my greens with a little more soul seasoning and spice -- a little cayenne kick built in instead of needing hot sauce afterward -- so for me they're about a 3.5 to 4 out of 5. But I can tell they season them in a way that appeals to everybody's palate and lets people adjust it themselves. The salmon soup? ELITE. They sell out of it constantly, so if you want it, get there early. The only thing I'd personally add would be some crushed chili flakes and corn niblets to take it completely over the top. As somebody who cooks and runs a catering business myself, I'm extremely critical about food, so when I say this place meets the bar and raises it, I mean that. Jose is usually back there cooking every time we go, so I joke that they got him chained to the kitchen -- but clearly he knows what he's doing. Jerry and the family taught him well. Now for honesty: The potato salad isn't really my thing. I'd probably give it a 2.5 out of 5 because, again, it feels made to appeal to all palates instead of heavily seasoned-food lovers like me. Same with the cabbage -- but I'm Jamaican, so unless cabbage is Jamaican-style, you're probably not selling me on it anyway . But the important part is this: the foods people ACTUALLY go to a soul food seafood restaurant for? They absolutely nail them. And now they opened a Brooklyn location too. Trust me -- make the trip. Once you go, you're going to keep going back.

If they ever start cutting them, I'll stop going -- but for now, they've got it right. I also tried the fried chicken, which had a great crunch and was cooked well. Both the fish and chicken could've used a bit more flavor for my personal taste, but nothing a little garlic and herb seasoning from home couldn't fix. My parents enjoyed the fish too, and they're pretty particular, so that says something. The staff was courteous and I really appreciated seeing that the cooks were wearing gloves -- always a good sign of care and cleanliness. I love supporting Black-owned businesses, especially when they're putting in this level of effort. Glad I found this place -- I'll definitely take that drive again to return since I no longer patronize UberEats/ Uber.

The interior gives that nostalgic retro diner feel. On a Saturday afternoon, our wait was about 25-30 mins, but it flew by quickly. Thomas's is beyond generous with their portions from the egg skillets to the pancakes. Prices are extremely reasonable for the portions. And most importantly, everything here is absolutely delicious. My fiance & I ordered two orders of the blueberry pancakes, which was a mistake because of how MASSIVE each order was; we could've easily split one. We also ordered the sides of corned beef hash and ham steak. Highly highly recommend both. The corned beef hash is SO delicious & homemade, and the ham steak is huge! The staff here are really lovely and attentive. Our coffee cups never went empty. Parking is available on site, but incredibly difficult to get a spot.
