I wanted buche but they didn't have it it's on the handwritten thing. I ordered 2 al pastor, those were cool. I had one tripa, it was acceptable. If you take em to go ask for ask for the tripa extra crispy, when I had them it was alright because it was warm. However, had it gone cold it can get rubbery ( not bad for me but mitigating for whoever reads this to avoid future bad experience). I ordered 2 of chicharrón and those were fire. They come in salsa verde, well seasoned. ( i previously pointed out a taco place for not doing em right) . This people do em I really recommend this place for tacos de chicharrón. I actually wanted a enchilada plate from the red truck that's also usually parked here but they were MIA that day. I didn't see any plates on this truck's menu so I went with a carne asada deluxe burrito, and luckily for me it was pretty damn good. The steak was seasoned and cooked well. Big chunks of avocado throughout the hefty burrito. Best of all, the ingredients were perfectly proportioned and also rolled properly. I hate that some places overload with rice or roll it so that all the meat/fillings are only at one end. Took a star off because my CC was charged $14.49 instead of the $14 like I was told. Don't know why I haven't reviewed Tati's before- I think they have one of the best-if not THE best- tasting veggie burritos in oakland! When we lived in East Oakland we satisfied our frequent veggie burrito craving at the Tacos Guadalajara truck. None of the taco trucks we tried in West Oakland when we moved here years ago came close to as good as them for veggie burritos...until we tried Tati's! Something about the flavor (perhaps in the rice?), and fresh lettuce and pico de gallo, and option for whole pinto beans (yea!), avocado, plus the soft chewy toasty flour tortilla all equals a solidly satisfying burrito. Plus we've had countless veggie burritos from them over the years and they're quite consistently delicious. There was only one time when we think the cook was someone different that day when the burrito was not that great. Definitely give it a try if veggie burrito (bean, rice, avocado, cheese, lettuce, tomato) is your jam. read more

How does Tati's taco truck compare to the plethora of taco trucks that are located throughout Oakland? It is solidly below the good trucks yet not bad either. I was driving through West Oakland and I pulled over to pick up a quick burrito. The lines for ordering and waiting for food was long at noon. So I assumed that it must be good. So I ordered: Giant burrito: this was supposed to be the size of two burritos yet it was only slightly bigger than the deluxe burrito I ordered. The ratio of ingredients was correct, and were decent quality. But paying double for a Giant burrito was a bad move. Getting two supreme burritos is way better value. Paying double for basically the same as a regular burrito. Fool me once. Deluxe burrito: this burrito has everything in it for $12. Half the price of the giant burrito but basically the same size. Overall this taco truck is standard. But it needs to definitely stay in West Oakland because they can't compete with the much better taco truck near the Lake and East Oakland. read more

I have not been to this truck in a long time, but the al pastor burrito I ordered had a weird chemical like taste and smell to it. So did the red salsa that came on the side. The first time was mid and dry but convenience brought me back for a second time and that was honestly a good burrito and was made right, so I guess it depends on what day you go there and how they feel at the time their making your food. Service is family owned taco truck ambiance is more of a working class environment for it's surrounded by city workers and city property so that's where my co workers frequent when on break. Best shrimp tacos I've ever had in my life. I don't know how they cook them but the texture is exquisite and it is so flavorful, with a little bit of searing. They add peppers as well, so all the textures are perfect together. It's worth walking down the block from the climbing gym for these tacos. I think about these tacos all the time. Tati's Mexican Food is a staple of West Oakland for being the only burrito joint that has a consistent presence off of Grand (to my knowledge). Unavailable on Sundays, but this is quite the delicious carnitas burrito! Though it doesn't meet the advertised "Giant Burrito" length by 2.5", I won't pull a Subway gripe here since this place has tender carnitas. This is the best taco truck I've found in W Oakland, I end out going once a week at least. The Al Pastor deluxe burritos are the best, along w chile verde or chicken. And the breakfast burritos w hash browns are GREAT but you have to get there early for the eggs. This is essentially the food truck version of La Cueva (in San Jose), which means it has BOMB TACOS. We found this food truck at Oakland's First Fridays, which is a fun outdoor fair with food trucks and street shops set up every first Friday of the month in Oakland. Since I wanted to try out other food trucks, I only ordered one regular steak taco from here for $1.75 (so cheap!), and the meat was delicious and juicy without being too greasy. I believe with the Deluxe upgrade you get sour cream and cheese on the taco. They also have Tati's Fish Taco for $3.50, which was about 1.5 times the size of the regular taco and also delicious according to my friend. I highly recommend this inexpensive and satisfying taco truck for your taco fix! Look for it if you're ever at Oakland's First Fridays (which I also highly recommend). read more

I ordered a veggie burrito for dinner, and pollo asado (grilled chicken) tacos for lunch, at only $1.75 each. Let me say, the meat was perfectly grilled in what seemed like adobo sauce. This taco truck is truly a hit or miss experience for me. I've been here a couple times and half the time my order was correct and delicious, the other half not so much. I always ordered the same thing (veggie burrito with no sour cream) and most of the time I'd get no sour cream, but sometimes it would sneak in there. However, there was one time that I asked for no sour cream and more beans than rice since there's usually too much rice and not enough bean for me. This made the $8 burrito jump up to $10. I thought maybe they took that as extra beans. Sure $2 was a lot for extra anything, but I didn't care. I was on my lunch break and hungry (and had already waited 20 minutes to get my order taken). But when I got back to my workplace to eat my lunch, I was annoyed when I took a bite of the burrito: there was a ton of sour cream. I thought maybe they thought I said extra sour cream AND beans. I was starving and paid $10 for this, so I thought I'd open the burrito up and try to get the majority of the sour cream out. Turns out, there's no extra beans at all. In fact, there were only about 8 beans in the entire burrito. At that point, I just threw it out and went hungry for the rest of work. Because of these hit or miss experiences, and my last one being pretty bad, I'm not sure I'll be coming here again. It may be time to try out the other taco truck down the street! read more

I come here quite often to get my burrito and tacos fix. The food is good and the ladies in the back are fast. Only downside is parking on west grand (watch out for speeding cars and nails). Oh and make sure you get that before the lunchtime rush. All in all a good burrito truck. read more
