Tacos San Marcos (aka Tacos La San Marqueña) -- truly an underrated pick for your taco truck staples. Located in a parking lot at the corner of Webster and Thomas, it's conveniently surrounded by other food and office buildings, so you'll often see people grabbing food to go or enjoying a quick bite on their break. There are two picnic tables out front for you to enjoy your meal fresh. I enjoy their tacos and usually go for their seafood options -- the shrimp and fish tacos here stand out and are what keep me coming back. This time, though, I decided to switch it up and try their asada and al pastor tacos instead. Both were flavorful and well-seasoned, but at $4 a piece, they don't quite justify the price, especially considering they could've been a bit bigger for the cost. I also tried their steak fries for $15, which were a solid choice -- hearty, well-portioned, and definitely more reasonable for the price. However, it didn't quite compare well enough to other spots in Oakland. The fries were a bit too soggy/oily and the steak didn't hold enough flavor to cut through it all. I'd probably skip it. Overall, while the standard tacos didn't blow me away this time, I still think their seafood options is what they do best. Next time I'll be sticking with the shrimp and fish tacos since they're about the same price but deliver more value and flavor. All in all, I'd definitely come back--the food is consistently good, and it's a great local spot for a quick, satisfying meal.

The carne asada taco and lengua taco are good. Good meat quality and it's chewy. The spicy Al Pastor taco is my fav. It has more flavor and great with the sauce. The Tripas is a bit too crispy, and it tastes a little bitter. I think this is a good spot for lunch. There are only two tables outside the truck, so take out is more convenient.

A great option for your classic taco truck experience. Tacos La San Marquena is a truck located right off of Webster in Oakland. Blink and you miss it, since it is literally just posted up on the corner of the street. You can park in the lot where it is located and walk up to take your order! The service is always quick and super nice! Very chill and lax, I like it! I have tried their quesabirria and their al pastor street tacos and both are really good! The birria is good and cooked well. Meat is tender and flavorful. Only downside is that it did not come with a side of consome, that would have been the cherry on top. Disappointed in that since more birria is served with a side of it! The al pastor is great. Very flavor. One thing I appreciate about this place is they don't skimp on their protein and toppings. The tacos are LOADED! Overall a great choice when you are craving some Mexican food. Definitely a great place to stop as I head downtown. Give it a try!

4 Tacos de Tripa, I took a bite of one because I couldn't wait.

Heaven! It's always the tacos, burritos or nachos for me and the fam. They are always so polite and have a couple of benches should you want to stay to eat. They get a bit busy around lunchtime, but it's worth the wait.

Such great prices! The carne asada is delicious and the pollo is really good too and it's only $3 for tacos. It's cheaper when you go with cash and make sure you ask for salsa

Food = juicy, freshly made, delicious. The salty, limey, and Judy flavor profile of the birria was a nice contrast to the crispy cheese and edges. Jam packed with flavors that married well together. I would choose the birria taco over their traditional tacos

Saw this spot so I stopped by.. I ordered lengua, tripa, and suadero for tacos.. crispy tortilla good portion of meat.. can't complain.. maybe extra lemon would be sufficient.. but other than that these tacos were delicious.. the service was fast and friendly..

terrific tacos. why does a recent 5-star commenter say "ugh" which commonly is an expression of disgust. I'm 75, so maybe it's an age thing.

Today 8/19/2022 they are open. New ours 9am-11pm Monday-Saturday. Their truck broke down so that's why their hours have been different.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

No tables and chairs outside - just pure to-go. Parking is limited to street parking with many of the spaces taken by Lake Merritt visitors. There was a constant flow of customers when I went during non-peak dining hours, so I'd assume that they have lines during other times. The steak fries were a bit bland with too much sour cream and less of everything else making the fries a bit soggy. The sauces did a lot of the heavy lifting to make this dish a bit more enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try their burritos and tacos - which are what they are most known for (I just was craving steak fries that day). There must be a reason why locals love this food truck!

There's a great variety of food trucks lined up in front of the Oakland museum. I'm always partial to the Southern Comfort restaurant. I've had their po'boys, shrimp, and heavenly seasoned fries. But I also love when Señor Sisig and anything that sells ice cream make an appearance. Customer service is always awesome and as fast as they can with the amount of people that show up. I got over my fear when Shakeel, the Market Ambassador at that time convince me to come. Even the other Market Ambassador Elon kept me company making sure I was OK at the market. I will admit every Friday Night I am at Off the Grid outside the Oakland Museum of California. I will admit I overdid it by checking out the exhibits at the museum weekly where I made a friend Preston, the Emcee at the Oakland Museum of California. Over 10 different food trucks to chose from. The highest food trucks they had at the market was up to 20 during the summer time. It is worth coming down to Oakland Museum to see all the different food trucks they have. I will admit I miss the past Market supervisor that ran the market (Adam, Alex, Paul, Henley, whomever ran the market that I can not remember their names). Ben, the current supervisor got this market running smoothly. I been enjoying the market. What makes this market to go to on Friday Night compared to going to Fort Mason is discount on museum tickets. You have a museum to go to while getting food from the food trucks. They also have a garden where children can run around in. The live music at the Oakland Museum of California is amazing. It is worth checking it out. This is the market to check out Friday Night.
