I don't know how to pronounce the name of this place but thankfully, that is not a prerequisite to get food here. I think it is like "Latte" but I heard others pronounce it like "Tot". Either way, I liked this place a latte. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my favorite thing here, which was the iced pistachio latte! A must get. The breakfast sandwich was also a pretty good size. Pro tip: if you want arugula and avocado on the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, you save a dollar by ordering the croissant breakfast sandwich and changing the croissant to a sourdough. That is a very filling and delicious sandwich. I also enjoyed the almond croissant and Cathie enjoyed her koign-amann. I had no idea what that was so I did not eat it so you will have to take my wife's word that it is good. I was not a fan of the donut. Too dense and the strawberry filling was too watery. I had a terrible experience with a general manager named Michael at this place. The incident did not involve me directly but I witnessed how this manager talked down to another employee. It was very uncomfortable and disappointing to witness how a manager that's supposed to mentor and guide the employees instead chooses to be condescending and rude to them. There are a million Tatte locations and for a good reason: it's freaking delicious! I was in Boston for a weekend and when my sister picked me up from the train station, she handed me a pistachio croissant from Tatte. Now it might have been my hunger from not eating/drinking on the 5 hour train ride from NYC, but at that moment, that croissant was THE best thing ever like it brought me back to life!!! SO GOOD My sister and her husband took me to Tatte in person on my last day before dropping me back off at the train station because we liked it so much. Unfortunately, this time we went, there were some disappointing elements. Okay so this first thing might be on me, but I ordered a black sesame latte and was so disappointed to learn that it contained actual coffee. I thought it would be like a matcha latte where it doesn't actually contain any coffee. The worst part was that because it was sweetened, I couldn't pawn it off to my sister or her husband to drink because they thought it was too sweet. So that was a miss for all of us. My sister got the roasted salmon and rice bowl and the snap peas were not enjoyable. They didn't have the satisfying crunch that they're normally supposed to have because the little string was still on the snap peas; you're supposed to peel it off before cooking! It's a standard part for prepping snap peas. I got the smoked salmon, avocado, and egg sandwich and though everything in it tasted good, it was really hard to eat as a sandwich because the challah roll bread they use for the sandwich is kind of hard to bite through. All the filling ended up spilling out the other end :( On our way out, I decided to buy one more pistachio croissant for the road so I could enjoy it when I got back to NYC. Tatte usually puts singular pastries in a little paper bag but I asked for a box. The lady said no to me at first but I explained that I didn't want it to be wrecked in my duffel bag during my train ride home, to which she finally obliged and put my croissant in a small box. Despite these small mishaps, I still like Tatte overall. I love the big wide open bright space of the cafe, and how they lay out all their pastries to really attract your attention and get your appetite going. If I were near a Tatte location in the future, I would not hesitate on going! read more

We were looking for a cozy coffee shop to spend time as a family when visiting our college kid in Boston . I have been to this bakery before but never at this location. Parking is hard to find as it is all street parking but the cafeteria is huge . You can quickly see it seems like a favorite hangout for students with their laptops! They are a well-oiled machine and even when the line looks way too long, it moves quite fast and they get your order out pretty quickly. It can get pretty busy on the weekends, but they have a lot of tables for small groups or just 1-2 tops - so spots open up pretty quickly & you will get seats with a little patience. The passion fruit tart was a bit too sweet and the orange sliced cake was dry compared to the other desserts. The tiramisu was rich and delicious, but the pear tart was my favorite of them all. It was delightfully fruity and easy to break apart -- perfect to eat as a morning pastry or late night dessert. I had a really disappointing experience at this location. We ate there and received both of our coffees luke warm. I also asked for one pump of vanilla instead of the standard 3 and they clearly didn't listen and what I received was incredibly sweet. Then I got my BLTA sandwich and it was the worst one I've ever had. The bread was soggy with the sauce they put on it. The sauce was overpowering and the tomatoes and lettuce were covered so it's the only flavor I could taste. The bacon had zero crisp and was also a side component to the sauce flavor. Everything I enjoy about a BLT was taken away - the "crunchy" lettuce and tomatoes, crispy bacon - and instead I was left with a soggy mess that had an overpowering Smokey aioli flavor. I left feeling like I wasted my money on something I could have made 1000x better in my own home. So disappointing. read more

Everything there is wholesome, healthy, fresh, & made with love. You can taste it in their food. The quality is there. And in my opinion, the price is incredible. I'm not sure how they do it. My personal favorite is the Fresh Mozzarella Sandwich. It is fresh baby arugula, tomatoes, & fresh mozzarella with a basil pine nut pesto. It is served on their fresh baked, house-made ciabatta. My mouth is watering thinking about it! My recommendation is to spend the $3 up charge & add prosciutto. It makes the sandwich. Thank me later! Their pastry and bakery selection is out of this world. It is also very aesthetically pleasing. I always like to grab a fresh, flaky, buttery croissant to finish off a good meal. The croissants are MASSIVE. Very flaky yet moist and flavorful on the inside. You can enjoy them without butter or jam- they're delicious on their own. It is very hard, if not impossible to find a place that makes a good, genuine croissant. The cold brew is also phenomenal. I recommend pairing it with a sweet treat, like their Vanilla Sugar Donut! I am not a daily coffee Consumer, but I do love myself a good quality cold brew. The order is packed perfectly and securely for takeout and delivery. I've done it both ways and the food was perfect both times. Tatte is one of my favorites here in Boston. I always know I'm going to be happy with whatever I order. Was tempted to try the croissant sandwich but ended up having the lamb meatballs with peppers in a tomato sauce with multigrain toast. This location is nice and not hard to find. I went on a Tuesday at 12 and there was some street parking available which is nice. The place wasn't busy at all and there was no line. We sat at the bakery window where we can see the bakers roll out the pastry. They were pretty friendly and even waved to my son. I read reviews from all their different locations and decided to order a French toast and the pistachio croissant. Unfortunately they do not serve French toast on a weekday. The pistachio croissant was good but not a five star good. Just a normal it's good kinda good. If you've had an almond croissant then you know what I mean by this pistachio croissant is like an almond croissant but with pistachio instead. It wasn't too sweet and very buttery. I also bought a chocolate croissant and it was good too. The last thing I ordered from the food menu was a salmon and avocado tartine. Out of the 3 food item this one tasted the best. The texture of the bread was really good and the ingredients were pretty fresh (tomato, avocado, capers, onions and smoked salmon.) We bought 2 drinks, honey halva latte and london fog. I think the coffee is pretty good quality but the flavor of the honey halva isn't my cup of tea. The london fog is ok and just an ordinary cup of earl grey. Overall I think the items were just ok and not too impressive but I think I went into the hype of the other reviews and expected too much. I always love a good solo Tatte trip but also bring my family when they're up to visit. I wouldn't suggest coming here to study/work as it is busy/louder than other cafes, but good to enjoy your coffee, eat and check some emails. The BEST B.L.A.T around. They have the best Gluten Free bread I have ever had, I can enjoy a sandwich without it falling apart. There are many Tatte locations in Boston, I go to this one because it's the closest to me and has the most options for free street parking. They are pricey but I am willing to pay knowing the staff is paid a fair wage and everything is handmade. read more

Not flexible with adjusting orders due to an allergy. I have an egg allergy and tried to order a sausage breakfast sandwich without the egg. The person taking my order said I don't think we can change orders but let me ask my manager. Manager came over and said no we can't remove the egg, no justification as to why and wouldn't even ask the kitchen. He then told me to order something without egg in it, after we both looked at the menu there were zero breakfast options without egg and he just shrugged his shoulders. This was a ridiculously inconsiderate move on Tatte's part, they simply just could have left the egg out of the sandwich. I'm gonna be really honest here and tell you that I've been to this location over 20 times. I sit here and I do work and I love the experience. I always get an almond latte and a Museli bowl. This is my me time!!! Out of all the other locations I've been to, the one in South Boston is by far the best when it comes to customer service. They always deliver my food with a genuine smile and they're really quick. I've never really been disappointed with Tatte in general but especially this location. I'm not sure if the Asian woman is still around it looks like she was a manager and let me tell you she runs a tight ship!One time she saw me look at my bowl with the slightest concern. She came over to make sure everything was okay and replaced the bowl with a fresh one immediately. I didn't even ask! She wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Was here today & 3/4 things were great. The lemonade, cortado & passion fruit coconut dessert were spectacular. Loved all 3! The meringue cookie (coconut &/or mint?) however was a 1/10. It's almost embarrassing how much I stop into Tatte. Their online ordering is very easy and quick if you're picking up or they have a pretty decent sized seating area if you decide to dine in. I don't think I've ordered anything bad here, seriously: Cafe Au Lait (I know, such a simple drink) = great. Salad = great (you can make modifications like add halloumi (yes, obviously add the halloumi) or add chicken (gotta get that protein in). Shakshouka = great. I've even gotten a sourdough loaf here (I have a problem) and yes, it was great. The folks who work here are super nice and the atmosphere is very cute. It can get a bit loud for anyone trying to work from there, but overall I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch. read more
