Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Paneer Pakoras

This place was not that busy on a Saturday night and I was very surprised because they deserve all the love! There was only one lady working the front of house, but she was doing great! Our waters immediately came out and were never empty because she constantly refilled it (we drank so much because our spice tolerance was low). This place is pretty big, so I'm assuming they host some parties here and there. The food was delicious, we loved how the portions were good enough for two people to share and not be overstuffed, but still have some food to take home. If you like spicy, they don't play! We ordered our usual - butter chicken and chicken biryani - and got a side of the paneer pakoras. Everything was great, we weren't that big of a fan of the paneer pakoras but that was just our thing, they were delicious regardless. I would love to come back and try their momo dumplings! They offer a lunch buffet that we would love to try out as well.

DURING COVID-19: $11 Okra Sauté - Flavor was good, but was slightly over cooked which made some hard pieces.

**IN-DINING EXPERIENCE** AMBIANCE (3/5): It's hard to judge this accurately because I came when they were having an event, so half the restaurant was the "party" and the other half was regular dining customers. It was loud and a little chaotic. SERVICE (3/5): Again, hard to judge given the event that was happening on the other half of the restaurant. There was only 1 waitress doing everything for the normal dining customers and she was BUSY and UNDERSTAFFED & it was SLOW service. She was hustling as much as humanly possible! I don't blame her for the slow service, they needed another person. That's on the restaurant. FOOD (4/5): $20 VEGETARIAN THALI FOR ONE: I asked for it "spicy" but I tasted no spice at all. Maybe they just do less spice for non-Indian since usually people over estimate their spice level with ethnic food? Who knows. It was ABSOLUTELY DELISH! I loved everything on the plate and would definitely order this again! My favorite was the vegetable korma! Yummy! OVERALL (3/5): I will be back during a time they hopefully don't had a party and I can re-evaluate with normal in-dining service. BUT... I love their food here so I'll be back! I usually order to go, but I feel like the food tasted even better when I dined in!

The lunch buffet had the usual Indian items, including the veggie pakora, lamb stew, tandoori chicken, and butter chicken, among other things. The lightly breaded fish, rarely served by other buffet spots, was tasty and fresh. Highly recommended! The chili-garlic naan bread had a tender crumb and was buttery delicious. I am a big fan of desserts but the gulab jamun took second place behind the excellent mashed yellow lentils dessert. It had a hint of cinnamon and with just the right sweetness and texture. We were here on a weekday lunch. There was plenty of available tables, which were clean. The table linens were made of intricately embroidered designs, a bow to the Nepalese culture. Prayer flags and prayer wheels adorn the place. There is ample parking shared by other nearby businesses. The location is on Orangethorpe but may be difficult to find. The owner was very cordial and accommodating, taking time to explain the food and the Nepalese culture. I will come back again because I felt welcome here.

We had dinner here tonight and what a delight it was. A group was here celebrating Diwali (the celebration of light). We were one of the few here that were not part of the group. Everyone was so kind and friendly, welcoming us to the celebration. We had already finished our supper, otherwise I would've love to join in and learn more about this wonderful celebration! Food here is always delicious. Locally Family owned and operated, home style cooking, good selection of beer and wine. Vegan options, clean restrooms. Parking in front. Friendly staff/owners. Awesome again!

Was looking for a local Indian spot to have a quick lunch mtg and was surprised to find that this was down the street. Tucked in a small plaza, I was happily surprised. Came for the lunch buffet and Very nice service and attentive service staff. They had an array of choices from tandoori chicken, samosas, garlic naan being the staples. Can't go wrong. Everything was fresh out of the kitchen and they seemed to always be replenishing until lunch time was done. Restaurant stated they even cater and have events at their location which was pretty cool. Lunch price tag can't be beat for an AYCE!

I've had this place bookmarked for a few years and finally made it. It was easy to get to for a weeknight dinner since we live 6 minutes away, but the shopping center is kind of hidden due to the bridge overpass. If you can't find it at first - don't give up! We enjoy similar Asian dishes from other cultures, but this was our first time dining Himalayan. The table settings and decorations are gorgeous. Service is friendly. Food is flavorful - even the mild heat was exciting enough. Portions are satisfying. I look forward to trying more.

I found this place on Yelp because the Indian restaurants in my area have gone down hill ! I was intrigued about Nepalese food. It's basically Indian food. This place is owned by a lovely husband & wife team originally from Nepal . The lunch buffet was fresh & delicious ! Everything was delish ! The naan bread was made fresh & was hot ! They had samosa's my favorite appetizer! I recall it was $18.99 for the lunch buffet ! My good friend treated me for lunch ! The bill for two buffet & one soda was $42 and change. If you're in the area you have to stop by and enjoy the delicious food and support this local business !

Very delicious Indian / Nepali food ! Everything is made fresh so please be patient for your food as they are making everything to order. Momos are really good and nice and flavorful. Their tandoori chicken is seasoned very well and is super tasty. The only thing is there is not alot of servers so you might be waiting for a little longer than preferred. Otherwise great food.

I've ordered for takeout twice here and both times the service was amazing and the food was so good. I got the butter chicken and rice both times and the first time it was a little too buttery (as in pools of butter on the top) but really good flavor. Second time was perfect. Chicken is tender and sauce is thick and full of spice. I love that it's right around the corner from me.

This is the third worst Indian restaurant I've been to in my life. The moment we entered, we should have realized to just exit immediately. Our mistake was that we decided to stay and give this place a chance. We waited an hour to get our food. When the food arrived, it looked good, it smelled decent, but it tasted like garbage. The spices were not mixed well. The Indo Chinese chicken fried rice tasted like it had chemicals mixed in it. Maybe formaldehyde!!! the chicken in it tasted disgusting and old. Old chicken has a very nasty smell and I could smell that from the chicken here. Covering that with spices and color does not help. They are severely understaffed. I don't see how that is sustainable for a restaurant. The few people who were there waited as long as we did. I'm surprised this place is even open and has not been shut down already. It was a mistake coming here. We will never come back.

Chicken tikka masala is delicious & 2. I have no idea what to order. Tonight I ordered the combo dinner for one, to go. But, it fed myself and my 14-year-old (who has a bottomless pit of a stomach), with leftovers to spare! The combo included tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, 2 veggie sides (I think they were yellow dal tadka & saag paneer), samosa, an appetizer of some sort of fried deliciousness, rice, garlic naan, & a rice, pudding style dessert. First off the chicken tikka masala is absolutely delicious! So rich & creamy. I'm so glad I ventured out of my lane because each dish was so flavorful. The dishes are made fresh to order, so be patient. I promise it's worth the wait! I can't wait to come back for one of their all-you-can-eat lunch buffets so that I can explore more flavors. Spice Social in Fullerton delivered a refined and memorable dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance is elegant, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. It strikes a balance between modern sophistication and comfort, making it well suited for an intimate dinner, a relaxed evening with friends, or a polished casual outing. The food was excellent. Each dish was beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. What elevated the experience even further was the service. The hospitality was exceptional, and the owner personally took the time to come over, greet us, and ensure that everything was to our liking. That level of attentiveness added a gracious and personal touch that made the evening feel even more special. One of the standout qualities of Spice Social is its broad appeal. It is an excellent introduction for diners who may be less familiar with Indian cuisine, as the menu feels approachable while still offering depth and authenticity. There is a subtle contemporary influence in some of the flavors and presentation, which makes the experience especially appealing to those who appreciate familiar elements alongside traditional Indian delicacies. I would return without hesitation and highly recommend it at any time.

Service was not warm to start, but it got worse after they brought me overcooked salmon when I ordered Chilean sea bass. I told them there was a mistake and the waiter tried to convince me it was sea bass. Sea bass is white and salmon is pink with a completely different texture. He did not apologize but returned my salmon to the kitchen. Good thing I ordered garlic naan which ended up being my lunch. It was good. They even included jalapeños on it at my request. It's actually hard to overcook sea bass but they managed it. A lady came by and did apologize saying something about the fish being lost in her translation. Her English sounded perfect to me. I just smiled and said it was ok but I could smell the fish coming before it hit the table. Super fishy. But maybe it would be ok. I took a bite and another just in case I had it wrong but it tasted old. Chilean sea bass is supposed to have a buttery soft texture. It just smelled, tasted and felt old. I let her know. She went and told the waiter who I could see shaking his head. He didn't return to serve us. She closed out the bill and removed the fish at my request. If that was it I would not have left this review because cooks have off days sometimes and there are hundreds of restaurants I've eaten at that just don't need a review. But the attitude I got was uncalled for. She said they served 3 and nobody else complained. Well that was awkward. After 3 they should have known the difference between salmon and sea bass. I really enjoy Indian food. Just not going to enjoy it here. I hope this review helps other diners.

In fact, I've recommended this place to friends and family and have always enjoyed the food. That's why this review is especially disappointing for me to leave. Last night, I stopped by to grab takeout for my girlfriend and myself. I ordered an Aloo Gobi bowl for her, and for myself, I ordered the chili chicken. Anyone who frequents Orange Curry knows that their chili chicken on Fridays and Saturdays is usually one of the most popular items on the menu. When I arrived, I was told they had run out and needed to make another batch, which would take about 15 minutes. No problem at all--I waited patiently in my car, picked up my order, and headed home. The food tasted fine, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary while I was eating. However, less than an hour later, I started feeling extremely sick. The nausea hit first, followed by sweating, stomach pain, and repeated trips to the bathroom. I couldn't keep anything down for the rest of the night. I became so pale that my girlfriend was genuinely concerned, and I spent hours trying to recover. I didn't start feeling remotely normal again until around 4:30 or 5:00 the next morning. To be clear, I can't say with certainty what caused it, but I can say that this was my experience after eating the meal I purchased that evening. Given how severe the symptoms were and how quickly they came on, I felt it was important to share what happened. It genuinely pains me to leave a one-star review because this has been one of my go-to spots for years. I've had many positive experiences here, which makes this situation even more surprising. My hope is that management takes this feedback seriously and looks into whether there may have been an issue with that particular batch of food. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I would feel guilty staying silent after an experience like this. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through what I went through that night.
