Decided to come back to try the à la carte menu here for takeout for dinner. For three of us, we ordered butter chicken, fish pakora, vegetable samosas, tandoori platter (chicken, shrimp, lamb), and garlic naan. The total came out to around $70. When we came in, there were only a couple tables of people eating. It was dimly lit and pretty empty. There were a couple tables that still hadn't been turned over yet from earlier guests. The vibe is honestly kind of odd. The guy who is always working there took our order and let us know it would be around 20 minutes, so we left and came back. It probably ended up taking a little over 30 by the time we got our food but we were too hungry to worry about it. First, the portions are great. The container of fish pakora was packed all the way, it must have been 10 pieces. And for being in a takeout container, it still tasted mostly crispy and fresh. It had a light aromatic flavor to it, but was light enough to taste the fish, which was perfectly soft. The samosas were standard but good, especially with the tamarind and mint chutneys. The tandoori platter was surprisingly good, and was one of the dishes most different from a buffet experience. The meat was all super juicy and the marinade hadn't dried out or anything, so it formed a really flavorful sauce. Butter chicken and naan were standard but also all very good. This much food could've easily fed and satisfied four people, which for the price and quality seems really fair. I would definitely recommend coming here for their normal menu OR buffet, even if it takes a minute. read more

This was once our favorite Indian restaurant in the area. It was so good, and the service was wonderful. For years, we have enjoyed it. Then they wasted an hour of my life. This evening, there seemed to be only two people working. I have never seen them before. We were the only sit-down customers. It was empty when we arrived. We ordered without reading the menu...we had been to Everest that much. One employee took our order and brought our drinks; the other brought the wrong food after a prolonged wait. He scurried away before we could tell him, so we had to wait again for the other employee to emerge. When told of the issue, the food was removed after some minor debate, and more time passed. A line of to-go order customers grew. No one apologized for the food issue or told us what was being done. No one said a thing to us. We sat...to-go customers sat...Everyone waited. We were hungry, left cash on the table to cover our drinks, and we left. We won't be back. We were still the only diners in the room. We never really got service when you think about it. It must be noted that we ordered vegetarian, and the order they brought contained fish and seafood. Imagine if we had fish/seafood allergies, what might have taken place tonight! They are obviously not following proper food safety protocols in this regard. If you have food allergies, beware. So sad to hear and to now experience this once really good place going downhill. I ordered noodles, veg Manchurian, and corn soup off DoorDash and it was absolutely horrible I ended up throwing my entire order away. The noodles had no taste and had black chickpeas in it. Who puts black chickpeas in noodles???? The Manchurian came half leaked out of the box and the Manchurian was soggy and raw from inside- absolutely disgusting The corn soup was literally just water with some corn in it. Disgusting. This place was not that busy on a Saturday night and I was very surprised because they deserve all the love! There was only one lady working the front of house, but she was doing great! Our waters immediately came out and were never empty because she constantly refilled it (we drank so much because our spice tolerance was low). This place is pretty big, so I'm assuming they host some parties here and there. The food was delicious, we loved how the portions were good enough for two people to share and not be overstuffed, but still have some food to take home. If you like spicy, they don't play! We ordered our usual - butter chicken and chicken biryani - and got a side of the paneer pakoras. Everything was great, we weren't that big of a fan of the paneer pakoras but that was just our thing, they were delicious regardless. I would love to come back and try their momo dumplings! **IN-DINING EXPERIENCE** AMBIANCE (3/5): It's hard to judge this accurately because I came when they were having an event, so half the restaurant was the "party" and the other half was regular dining customers. It was loud and a little chaotic. SERVICE (3/5): Again, hard to judge given the event that was happening on the other half of the restaurant. There was only 1 waitress doing everything for the normal dining customers and she was BUSY and UNDERSTAFFED & it was SLOW service. She was hustling as much as humanly possible! I don't blame her for the slow service, they needed another person. That's on the restaurant. FOOD (4/5): $20 VEGETARIAN THALI FOR ONE: I asked for it "spicy" but I tasted no spice at all. Maybe they just do less spice for non-Indian since usually people over estimate their spice level with ethnic food? Who knows. It was ABSOLUTELY DELISH! I loved everything on the plate and would definitely order this again! My favorite was the vegetable korma! Yummy! OVERALL (3/5): I will be back during a time they hopefully don't had a party and I can re-evaluate with normal in-dining service. BUT... I love their food here so I'll be back! The lunch buffet had the usual Indian items, including the veggie pakora, lamb stew, tandoori chicken, and butter chicken, among other things. The lightly breaded fish, rarely served by other buffet spots, was tasty and fresh. Highly recommended! The chili-garlic naan bread had a tender crumb and was buttery delicious. I am a big fan of desserts but the gulab jamun took second place behind the excellent mashed yellow lentils dessert. It had a hint of cinnamon and with just the right sweetness and texture. We were here on a weekday lunch. There was plenty of available tables, which were clean. The table linens were made of intricately embroidered designs, a bow to the Nepalese culture. Prayer flags and prayer wheels adorn the place. There is ample parking shared by other nearby businesses. The location is on Orangethorpe but may be difficult to find. The owner was very cordial and accommodating, taking time to explain the food and the Nepalese culture. I will come back again because I felt welcome here. read more

We had dinner here tonight and what a delight it was. A group was here celebrating Diwali (the celebration of light). We were one of the few here that were not part of the group. Everyone was so kind and friendly, welcoming us to the celebration. We had already finished our supper, otherwise I would've love to join in and learn more about this wonderful celebration! My husband and I tried their lunch buffet today, and we were extremely disappointed. The service was so bad. No one came to greet us , and they saw us come in. We arrived at 1:30, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. There AC was off on a 88° day, and it was warm in the restaurant. The food for the buffet was dried out. I've had this place bookmarked for a few years and finally made it. It was easy to get to for a weeknight dinner since we live 6 minutes away, but the shopping center is kind of hidden due to the bridge overpass. If you can't find it at first - don't give up! We enjoy similar Asian dishes from other cultures, but this was our first time dining Himalayan. The table settings and decorations are gorgeous. Service is friendly. This place is owned by a lovely husband & wife team originally from Nepal . The lunch buffet was fresh & delicious ! Everything was delish ! The naan bread was made fresh & was hot ! I've ordered for takeout twice here and both times the service was amazing and the food was so good. I got the butter chicken and rice both times and the first time it was a little too buttery (as in pools of butter on the top) but really good flavor. Second time was perfect. This is the third worst Indian restaurant I've been to in my life. The moment we entered, we should have realized to just exit immediately. Our mistake was that we decided to stay and give this place a chance. We waited an hour to get our food. When the food arrived, it looked good, it smelled decent, but it tasted like garbage. The spices were not mixed well. The Indo Chinese chicken fried rice tasted like it had chemicals mixed in it. Maybe formaldehyde!!! the chicken in it tasted disgusting and old. Old chicken has a very nasty smell and I could smell that from the chicken here. Covering that with spices and color does not help. They are severely understaffed. I don't see how that is sustainable for a restaurant. The few people who were there waited as long as we did. I'm surprised this place is even open and has not been shut down already. Entree is enough to feed 2 if not 3. Chicken momos were delicious! Extremely plump and juicy. I didn't love the sauce that came with it. It was tangy and felt a bit carbonated. The carbonation to it was a little off putting but the flavor was there. I hope that I didn't get served a bad batch so I'll assume that the sparklingness to it was intended. The rice was very aromatic and fluffy. Garlic naan was delicious! Very crispy in the outside with a generous portion of garlic and the inside was soft and perfectly chewy. I'd come here again! Super reasonable pricing. The business is tucked away so be sure to keep an eye out. Plenty of parking in the area. Service is a bit slow but that's because it's a family owned and operated business.
