We enjoyed a delicious dinner here tonight. Our server who was also the bartender was so pleasant and friendly. The chicken special was delicious. A huge portion of tender chicken stuffed with spinach, cheese and ham. A baked potato and salad in the side. I came home with leftovers which my son happily ate. I frequent 292 at least once or twice a week. I work down the street and refer clients to eat there since we always have a good experience. I went for dinner last night with my boss, daughter and grand daughter. The waitress was not at all interested in helping us! She only wanted to take our order before she even served our drinks. We had to ask for everything including bread! I asked for another glass of wine and she reached across the table and handed me a carafe and said "here you go" My boss went to speak with the owner, Soto, he came over to the table offered us a drink (when we were ready to pay the check) NO THANKS SOTO....You will NEVER see us again. He was not really interested in speaking with us. You aren't the only game in town! Sorry for this bad review, however, you need to treat your regulars a little better, even if we aren't sitting at the bar!!! read more

My husband and I went a date night here last night and it did not disappoint! When we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly hello and seated right away. The menu has SO many appealing options, it was tough to decide. We had a pitcher of the Autumn Seasonal Sangria, which was Apple Cider and delicious. We started our meal with the Tavern Bacon and the Buffalo Chicken Avocado Rolls. Both were very good!! It should be noted, I am very picky with bacon; theirs paired with Luger's sauce was AMAZING! For dinner, I had the West Coast Burger. The bun was branded with the restaurant's name; I thought that was a nice touch. The burger was huge and flavorful! I was very happy with the choice! My husband had the Steak Gorgonzola. It was larger than he expected, perfectly cooked, and flavorful. Last, but certainly not least, our server was remarkable! Patrick added to the experience with his friendly personality and interactions with us, making our experience THAT much more enjoyable. Because I couldn't make a decision on dinner, I asked for his recommendations, and he readily provided some great suggestions (which is how I landed on the burger)! We ate here years ago soon after they first opened, and I did not really enjoy it. So many people love this restaurant so we decided to try it again tonight. First, it seemed less cramped than I remember so I think they maybe took out some tables since covid. The ambiance was very homey and relaxing. As I remembered, the menu was pretty eclectic. Like pub food but also some food like a steakhouse. Either way, I had heard the burgers were amazing so I stuck to the burger - and it was quite delicious. And very large. I like that there is a whole sections of "sides" and you can choose your side. I wanted almost every side but got the mac and cheese. It was fine. My son - the pickiest eater ever - got the NY strip. That looked amazing and he very much enjoyed it. He also really enjoyed the baked potato. Husband got taco salad which he enjoyed. So, food is really good. Prices are a bit ridiculous but they are everywhere nowadays. I mean $80 for a burger, a salad, steak and 2 sodas is a bit ridiculous. But at least it was good. I would definitely return. read more

The parking lot was packed and the restaurant was busy but the service was still good. We ordered caramel apple martinis, which were poured and served tableside, so that was a nice touch. Great Food. Small cramped space. I had the filet of sole with crabmeat tasty and light very favorable. The bacon appetizer was delicious. The Shrimp Santorini was also a delight. Our server was excellent. The place gets packed near the bar area which is where we sat to the side. Nice meeting spot to get together with friends. This was my first time here. I came for an early friday dinner (5pm) to beat the crowd, and I was greeted by a very friendly host who seated us promptly. To start, I had the thai sweet chili calamari. It was fried in a light batter so you couldn't taste the crispiness, but the sauce was so good!! For my entree, I had the sliced flat iron steak which was very tender but the chimichurri sauce they give you was missing some flavor. First time visiting this restaurant, all the cars in the parking lot on a Thursday evening was a good sign. I was promptly seated without a reservation and my waitress was so prompt that I had not even picked a drink. Kaitlin was courteous throughout the meal and made sure I was well taken care of! The beer and wine menus are limited, but do provide options. Food was prepared to order and was good, though the meatloaf was dry. I had the taco salad and it was delicious. We had the chips and guacamole (menu says that you get three dips, NOT a choice of one), appetizer and it was very good. Don't eat here. Maybe a place for a few beers, etc. We had the French dip and a Salmon dinner and they were barely edible. I don't have high expectations for a Tavern, but this really was the worst food we'd had in quite a while. With so many choices within a few miles I'm not sure why anyone would go here a second time. I came to Tavern 292 for the first time recently with my mom who always spoke very highly of it and I was very impressed. We had the wings to start (I recommend getting them dry & crispy with the sauce on the side.. YUM). I ordered a burger for my meal while my mom had the steak sandwich. It honestly may be the best burger I have had in the area! I also came back another night with my dad and had the flat iron steak which was phenomenal. I love all of the choices of sides!! Nice spot for a traditional meal and good service. A friend and I stopped in here. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a friendly bartender. Their beer menu is ok (some crafts...some regulars). It's not a big bar but there are some tables on the side. Their seats are comfy though! The dining area is decent size and it wasn't overly noisy. The menu has some usual pub/tavern food but also some Greek dishes. From what I understand the owner is Greek and the spot was previously a Greek restaurant. They have some specialties (crab legs, lobster, steaks...) too. We started out with their calamari and were pleasantly surprised on how good it was. Light and not chewy! 1 order is more than enough for 2 people. For meals we opted for burgers: 292 Burger (bacon, bbq sauce, onion ring, cheddar) and Tavern Burger (L, T, American Cheese). Both were really, really good! Their meat was quality and they cooked them just like we wanted. They are a little messy (we split them) but well worth the messiness. You also have a choice of a side. We split their fries and each had a salad (1 was extra). Their prices are moderate. Overall a really good experience. ENJOY! read more

This place used to be very good. However the menu is easily 7 to 8 years old and never changes with the exception of a special or two. It's gotten pretty stale, and some of the dishes are no longer consistent. For instance, the lobster risotto used to be fantastic. But the last few times I've ordered it I found the risotto to be overcooked, and the lobster rubbery. I would gladly try this place out again if they changed to a seasonal menu and switched things up a bit. The menu just never changes. BORING. I'll give it three stars because you can still get a decent burger. read more

I would say this place is a 3&1/2 star place but I think what made me bump them up to 4 is the decor which sounds ridiculous but I love the rustic, log cabin, cozy look to it. Just something about it that made me feel comforted... But I'm also weird so.... Onto the food, everything I tried was okay.... Mediocre. I had the nachos which were decent but I've had better and I got the Greek salad which I was kind of disappointed in. I feel like there was no dressing on it but the chicken on it was well seasoned and tasted great. The highlight of the meal was the French onion soup. It was really really good and if I go back again I would order that for sure! Our waitress was great and very accommodating and I really cannot complain about the service. The pros. The owners and staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food is above average for a "tavern". However, that is where the problem lies. This place isn't really a tavern. There's no tavern feel or vibe whatsoever. It really feels more like a diner that serves liquor. Not really the kind of place you would go solely for a beer, drink or to watch a game. Maybe I ordered wrong, if your a Vegetarian stay away. They can't even make a grilled cheese. I ordered a spicy salad, this was neither spicy or had any visual appeal. Just some bag iceburg and a few cherry tomatoes, a slice of cucumber, thick mayonnaise dressing and cheese sprinkled on top. The grilled cheese was inedible. It would be great if they used cheddar or real cheese instead of plastic cheese food slices that don't really melt. The frozen fries were served piping hot and golden. So I suppose that was worth a star. The waiter was also really difficult to get his attention. I was needing a water or drink my entire meal. He never checked on how we were doing or how our food was. My husband ordered fish and chips. His fish was just ok. A little soggy but again the chips were hot and golden. He also gave the cole slaw high marks. It is doubtful that I will return for any reason.
