What a great surprise to find this place in. Boston. The servings were enormous and the taste was fantastic. The kids loved it as well and the kids menu was great with large portions as well. Will definitely be back here and highly recommend Tavern on the Square.

Loved it after the game serving so many vibes! Great service wait was minimal. Only grabbed apps but was awesome

Perfect and better than touted!! I'll start with the food. The lamb gyro was made with real lamb and perfectly balanced. The pita bread was very fresh and perhaps toasted slightly. The lamb sliced thin and just flavorful enough. The tzatziki sauce perfect, not over powering. The veggies balanced. Perfect. The service was friendly and prompt. Perfect. The atmosphere was a very small comfortable pub. We sat next to the roaring fireplace. The music selection was excellent mix of old and new Irish PERFECT!! I'll be back.

Great place to stop by for dinner or a drink prior to going to an event at the Garden. Great craft beer selection.

I'd walk, I wouldn't run to eat here. Parking is terrible, I had to make loops to find street parking. If you want to avoid headaches and park somewhere there are lots that very from $30-$75 depending where you go it is not cheap and I almost did not eat here because of that; if you're commuting by train/bus that is best case scenario. The service was amazing! Our waitress was attentive, and friendly. It did take time for our food to get to us on what appeared to be a slow night but we got our entrees not too long after our appetizers (starters). The food was bland, we ordered the Burrata, General Tso chicken, and the bayou Pasta. The menu has a bunch of selections available. I will return to try more from the menu but this time around was not good, temp was good, presentation was awesome, taste was bland and a let down. The restaurant is beautiful, they have a bar, booths and high-tops. Taverns don't usually look this great, but this one inviting, cleanly, and pleasant to be in. Despite the terrible parking situation, and blandness of food I would definitely try this spot again, but I'm in no rush to do so.

I was staying nearby and looking for a casual place for a quick dinner. I ordered the fish and chips which was pretty good. FYI, it's a big fish of fish rather than several smaller pieces if you are looking to share. The service was super quick, and this looks like a good place to chill and watch a game.

Came here for a late dinner and we were able to be seated right away which was great! Our server was sweet and prompt, and everyone we met was very nice. We ordered the burrata to share, but I was quite disappointed with the stale and super hard bread, it was not an easy app to eat. The burrata was also a little underwhelming, I wish they had more of the delicious fig/grape jam to pair with it! For our mains, we got a couple of burgers and a hot honey chicken. The burgers were ok, nothing too spectacular, but I did really love the sweet potato fries. I was also disappointed in the hot honey chicken, I wish the hot honey flavor was more prevalent in the chicken! I think I was also expected fried chicken, but it was ended up being grilled. Overall, their outdoor dining patio was nice to relax in, and it was a filling dinner. For the price, I'm not sure I would say their food was worth it. However, still a nice option if you are in the area and need a meal.

Tavern in the Square was on my must-visit list while in Boston, and I couldn't recommend it more. My group and I were unable to make reservations but only waited for a bit to be seated. The place was packed even on a weeknight, and I can see why, the food and drinks were fantastic. They have a super impressive gluten-free selection including elusive gf fried foods you normally can't find in restaurants. I loved how many gf and vegetarian options I had to choose from and share with the table. The service was great, and we received everything within a reasonable amount of time. My only regret is that I didn't return prior to driving back to Jersey.

We went to Tavern in the Square without a reservation and we were given a table. (Very unusual for this area!) since it's across the street from TD Garden there is heavy foot traffic around and reservations are highly recommended. This particular time we weren't looking for a big meal just a little something so we wouldn't be hungry later on. We ordered a pizza. We were pleasantly surprised by the taste and happy that it was just the right amount for two of us. Then we also had room for dessert so I had the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and caramel sauce and my husband had the seven layer chocolate cake. (He couldn't finish it) it's definitely big enough for two or three people to share. I wasn't leaving any of my cookie and ice cream behind.

I have to say Boston is a very unnerving kind of place but this place offered me great food drinks and service. Steak tips w broccoli and fresh mash while watching 3 basketball games a football game and the weather updates...yeah nice place to revisit...

Was visiting Boston and needed a quick bite and walked in for dinner. It was a weekday evening and there were some folks but also enough space at the bar so was able to get a seat right away. Service was friendly and in line with other similar spots. Food was pretty good. Across a few days I tried both the chicken and bolognese and found that both were enjoyable. Good flavors overall. All in all, good spot to visit if you're staying by the area.

We stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat before grabbing a show and really enjoyed a great burger. The Tavern burger was a rather large burger ( not complaining), served with sweet potato fries. My girlfriend had the black and bleu burger. They were cooked perfectly and were very good. We were anxious to get in and out in I order to get to our show and they were able to take care of us. For their gluten free options, do they have a separate preparation space or separate fryers?

Multiple online resources said they had separate fryers, but I'm not sure about prep space. As a celiac diner I didn't have any symptoms after eating there

Preface we went around 6pm! Once we were finally able to order, it took another 30-40 minutes for our drinks and food to arrive. I've had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit was so surprising. I understand that off days happen, but the service was unusually slow from start to finish. I hope this was just an isolated experience because the food and atmosphere have been enjoyable on previous visits.

It's like someone mashed together an amusement park, a zoo, and a full-blown circus, then replaced the cotton candy with alcohol and the safety rails with chaos. Every floor felt like a different dimension--one minute you're vibing, the next you're dodging a human traffic jam like it's bumper cars. But the real main event? Colleen. First floor. Absolute legend. Watching her work was like witnessing a headliner performance before the headliner. She wasn't bartending--she was conducting a symphony of pure mayhem. Drinks flying out of her hands like fireworks, orders remembered with supernatural precision, cracking jokes, keeping the energy electric--it was like if a ringmaster, a magician, and a quarterback all fused into one person behind the bar. I showed up stone-cold sober. Like, "responsible adult grabbing a pre-show drink" sober. What happened next was less of a night out and more of a controlled demolition. Somewhere between Colleen's perfectly poured chaos and the multi-floor madness, time stopped making sense. I'm pretty sure I blacked out on one floor and woke up on another like I was fast-traveling in a video game. At one point I may have been part of the circus. Not watching it--part of it. By the time I left, "walking" was no longer an option. I exited the building in a full crawl, like I had just survived a natural disaster. Limbs questionable, dignity gone, spirit intact. 10/10. No notes. Would absolutely risk it all again.

My friends and I got dinner, opted out of drinks this round. I got the chicken quesadilla with a side of spanish rice. The quesadilla was pretty good, but the rice was a little undercooked. They also charged extra for a side of sauce which has never happened before so that was a bummer. I wouldn't have got one if I'd known. Oh well. We then split the cookie sundae which was yummy.
