This place was very modern and chic! Very cool look and feel of the restaurant. We only came in for a quick bite to eat and some drinks to start off the night. We went here for dinner last week, and the service was pretty slow. We got a burger and a salad and it took probably twenty minutes for that to come to the table. Our waitress was helpful, but by the time our food came to the table, the fries were cold. Worth the wait! New Year's Day was very busy, we had about an hour wait and went to the bar to grab a local beer, bottled. Got seated in one of their spacious booths in the second level of seating overlooking the whole space. Our server Lauren got to the table quickly, answered my weird questions about their hostess stand software and pos system with the polite humor of a seasoned server. Service never lagged for a second, perfect pacing. The food was on point. I got The Tavern Burger added blue cheese and caramalized onions and it came out medium as ordered. Got some garlic aioli for the fries, good choice. My partner decided on the fish tacos, fried, delicious, maybe could have used some more sauce, he dipped them in my aioli a few times. ...and the playlist was perfection. I visited Nashville this past weekend, but was unaware (until a few days before) that it was Valentines Day weekend. So as you can imagine, getting a table anywhere was difficult. Nevertheless, my girlfriend and I decided to walk in, without reservations, to Tavern at about 8:30pm on Valentines Day night. To my surprise, we were told the wait would be about 20-30 minutes, and within that time, we were escorted to our table The host was pleasant, and our server came over shortly after. I must say, the people who worked there were really friendly and attentive. I ordered the Gentleman Jack which was a good pour. I also wasn't interested in a full meal, so I ordered the fried chicken skins and the buffalo cauliflower. My girlfriend ordered the grilled chicken skewers. The chicken skins are like pork rinds and have an amazing flavor. The cauliflower was amazing, and more filling than I expected. Her chicken skewers were juicy and flavorful, though the sauce mixes with the rice and that combination tastes odd. I would definitely go back and try some of the other options offered. read more

Went twice in a work week for the Kale Salad and Zippy Chicken Tacos. Both were delicious guilt free compared to my "on-the-road" diet. (A couple of ladies working at the Green Hills Lulu recommended Tavern to my roomie and me when we told them about our burger search). Upon being seated was told to scan QR code to place the order and pay, if you want to speak with a server place the card into the card holder. All the direction given. Party of four coworkers for lunch on $7 Burger Week special. Place was not too busy for the amount of visible staffing. Atmosphere was nice, industrial tavern look. We all worked together and placed our orders, I mistakenly paid in advance and tip for my portion $27.62 of the total table bill. From the app was given option to add to the burger, and I did, I added bacon $1.75 and cheese $1.50. Did not have an option for water so card was put in the holder. After a while hostess said something about service and we asked how to get water, she left to get someone to come to the table. Later a lady with water makes it to the table. Then waiter comes out and informs us no substitutions can be made to the burger. I let him know it was an extra charge for each item and he was going to talk to the chef. I see him again and ask him what did the chef say, he said about what? I reminded him I paid in advance and had ordered bacon and cheese on the burger, says I am sure it will be fine, I will speak with him now. Later the burgers come out, of the four orders total of six burgers only two where cooked to order. Three were well done but ordered med rare, the one ordered well done with no brisket, no lettuce, no pickle, was cooked med rare with cheese. We are asked how did you order, on line? Yes sir, on line we were not given the option to order from a waitress. Again I ask where is the bacon and cheese I paid for, well at least the bacon made it to the table. I was told my fries $8.50 would be taken care of, I remind them, I paid in advance how are you going to credit my card, they bring out a new receipt for me to sign, less money but I already paid the full amount. I show the male waiter my receipt on my phone where I paid, he almost walks off with my phone to show the manager, I politely ask him to hand me my phone she can come look at the phone. The burger sent back was brought out and it was cooked but not the correct condiments again. Manager now has shown up twice but is speaking so fast and getting away from the table so quickly we gather she is not good with any type conflict. We were not being rude, or ugly by any means. People make mistakes we get that. Dang at least listen to what we are trying to tell you. Then they proceeded to come back out with another receipt. Nothing showing my card had been credited any amount just new receipts with different amounts. Either way, $27.62 or $18.33 charge, fine I will chalk it up to memorable experience with my team. If my card is hit with both charges I will be visiting again to get all my money back in cash to the penny. I work out of town so no thank you on any type coupon or gift card. Miss Lady Manager thank you for the desert we left behind, it was a nice jester, but no thank you. I know I left out a few of the little things that really made the whole experience worse one being not one was my tea refilled but you asked the guy with the coke at least three times. Left the table so quick I could get anyones attention. You get one star because you did give it a graduate try and the food was good, and atmosphere was nice, I will even give you two for the effort given. You guys were not rude, or ugly either, you just were not listening to what we were requesting, you heard something different than what we were saying is what we figured. Anyway, have a blessed career and I hope you learn from this and make others more pleased when they leave. read more

Delicious Nashville classic!! You cannot go wrong with the Tuscan fries--life changing. Also I'm not usually one to order salad out at a restaurant, but their kale salad with chicken is amazing. The kale is so finely chopped and the dressing is light and refreshing! They have awesome drink deals at lunch, as brunch cocktails are 2 for 1. Be aware of the long lines around that time, though. Came to Nashville for a bachelorette party and Tavern came highly recommended by a few local friends. This place did not disappoint. We knew there would be a wait given they don't take reservations, we had a group of 6 and it was Saturday during peak brunch time. We arrived, placed our name down and waited about half an hour. The hostesses were great and their estimated wait time was dead on. There is a nice outdoor patio area with seating for guests to wait until their tables are ready. Once seated, we ordered plenty of food. They had buy one get one free specials on their brunch drinks, i had both the mimosa and the white sangria. Mimosa was normal however the white sangria was amazing! By far one of the best sangria's i've had in a while, not too sweet and with the perfect amount of fruit in it. I ordered the red velvet waffles with bacon, eggs and the cheddar hash browns on the side. The waffles were AMAZING! Covered in cream cheese icing drizzle, i could not stop eating the waffles. For a dessert breakfast item, they weren't too sweet and paired well with the salty sides i ordered. Their cheddar mashed hash browns were also very tasty, a different take on hash browns in that it was more like a thick mashed potato cooked in cheese with a light spicy kick to them. Everyone at our table really enjoyed the hash browns. The service was also great, our waitress was very personable and positive. We never waited long to re-order drinks/ flag her down and she even allowed one of our group to create a customized wrap from a salad on their menu. She made the experience better than it already had been. The prices were also very reasonable, we were even more surprised/excited when we discovered the drinks were buy one get one free during brunch. Overall i would say, yes this place lives up to its hype. It's a definite go to for brunch in Nashville. Cannot wait to come back the next time i'm in town! read more

Unfortunately this was by far the most disappointing experience we had in Nashville. We were from out of town and came here for the good reviews yet we were left very dissatisfied. We called a week in advance given we had a larger group and were told to call an hour ahead to give them time to set up, which we did. We actually gave them an hour and a half heads up. We get there and our table wasn't ready, so we waited another 15 minutes to get seated. Got seated and ordered our food. Took over an hour to get our food so we asked management about it because we kept being told 10 more minutes. Manager was not accompanying to our complaints at all and handled the situation pretty rudely. And to top it al of we were forced to give a 20% gratuity. Great! Overall, very slow service, food is not great, and it is not a good or fun environment. I DO NOT recommend, and we will not be back. read more

It was a very charming restaurant with couch seating inside and a full bar. I noticed the floor was a bit slippery when I was walking to the bathroom. I think they should put some carpet around that area. Our server was a good listener. She seemed very friendly and got what we needed very quickly. Wow, what an impression! This was my first visit to Nashville and absolutely loved it. Tavern had a great contemporary vibe and look to it. The food was incredible. Our table had the Tavern Burger, Chimichanga, and the Basket of Crispy Little Fish. Each was to die for. If you are a carnivore then the burger is the way to go, Prime and Filet made the burger super juicy and tasty! The bar area had adequate seating and served every liquor drink you could think of as well of 2oz pour of some really great tequila and whiskey. Went here for brunch for the first time. Overall - I felt pretty underwhelmed with the experience. I'm not sure if I had too high of expectations because I had heard this place was great for brunch. We waited about 45 mins for a table (which was fine), but there was no option to order a coffee or drink while we waited unlike other places in Nashville we've been to. When we got our table, the drinks and food were great. We got the UNO and tres along with the blood orange mimosa and smoke Bloody Mary. (No options for bottomless mimosas or live music if you're looking to relax for awhile). My least favorite part was when the manager started coming around asking if we were done (along with the tables next to us) before we had finished. I think we were there a total of 50 minutes. The service was great. We sat at the bar, both bartenders and food service were polite and attentive. Drink selection and quality and price seemed good. The food is another story. It is over priced and over hyped by reviewers. My husband had the OZ pot pie. Even with a healthy dose of the curry sauce, it was dry. And plain, could barely taste the curry. Despite the crowd, we were seated immediately and experienced very quick service throughout our visit. Both our host and server were friendly and helpful. I ordered the Tavern burger, which was cooked to perfection. It came with the Belgium fries, though I'm also looking forward to exploring their other fry selections next time. My friend ordered a Caesar salad that was fine, but not exciting.
