Welcome to Nashville! Kicked off our first dinner in Nashville and picked this spot because it was walking distance from our hotel. After about a 5-6 minute walk we go there and there was about a 20 min wait. We put our name on the list and went across the street to have a Margarita at the Mexican restraint directly across. To our surprise the wait was 15 mins so we drank our margaritas quickly and got back to be seated. The outside area was perfectly lit for a beautiful time, there is a string of lights that light up the place! Perfect photo opp just saying. When we got in they sat us in a high top table by the bar and the waiter greeted up right away. He gave us the 411 on the Happy Hour deals and this did not disappoint. What a horrible experience. I went with my girlfriends to Tavern while on vacation- however both the food and the service were subpar at best. From the moment we were seated, the waitress was absolutely rude- complete with rolling her eyes multiple times at our request for more time and questions about the menu. On top of that we ordered the chicken skewers and they were raw (refer to photo) along with undercooked rice that was hard to chew. We explained this to the waitress and asked what our options were, she mentioned she had talked to her manager to try to take this off our bill and allow us to order something else, which we appreciated and thanked her. We were a party of 2. Showed up to Saturday brunch at 10:00am, when they open. Put our name in and they said it would be a 20-30 minute wait. Literally got a text at 10:03 telling us we were on the waitlist. Went back in to check on our table at 10:48 since it was already 10-20 minutes after our wait time. They then told us it would be an ADDITIONAL 20-25 minute wait. Mind you we showed up when they opened and there are only 2 of us. I am 8.5 months pregnant. So at 11:00 the manager came and sat us. It was quite loud and they sat the 2 of us at a table for 6. She was apologizing and offered to get us an appetizer. So I think the totally forgot about us. The food was great though! I've been here for dinner and twice for brunch. I really like this place a lot. The downside: there's always a wait. The upside: the food is worth it. (Ohh, and valet parking is available for free, but should always tip :) ) I came here for brunch recently and 5 minutes after opening, the wait time for two was already 30 minutes. Previously, for a group of five at noon, the wait time was 75 minutes. I called for reservations and was told they don't accept them at brunch. So, if you're not a waiting person, I'd suggest getting here slightly prior to opening. The bar gets packed, but if you can squeeze in, they have 2-1 brunch during this time. I always go for the sangria at brunch. They fresh squeeze all the juices! Great blend. So far (because I'm that person that eats off of everyone's plate) I've tried the Singapore stir fry, huevos ranches, Benedict dos, and the red velvet waffle. I went back for the Singapore stir fry. I love this dish. Anything with rice, add some eggs and make it a brunch item. I'm in!! The huevos I hear is a super popular dish and is recommended every time I come in. I thought it was good, but my boyfriend and I weren't crazy about it. I'm not a Benedict person but dos=delicious. And the waffle. I love all things sweet. Yum! For dinner, I went on a Thursday. I heard fantastic things about this places brunch so we decided to try it out on a Sunday. We got there at 11:30 and were told it would be an hour and a half wait for 2....which absolutely sucks. We got SO lucky finding a spot at their back bar, otherwise we would have missed out on this goodness. Just note you may want to come here early, if possible. We immediately ordered drinks, coffee, Bloody Mary, and beer. The cucumber bloody mary was not very strong but tasted good. I eventually got a blood orange mimosa and it was decent as well. My coffee was good but I had to ask the waiter 3 times for cream/sugar. Our waiter was great but he did not pick up on the details- we waited a while for water refills, no creamer, etc. Food we tried: the biscuits with chorizo gravy were a perfect appetizer and the biscuits were oh, so soft. I went with the Nova Scotia omelette and my date got the french toast with rocky road sauce. I loved the egg portion of my omelette but there were too many onions and the salmon wasn't smoked, it felt fully done. Not for me, and I would definitely order something else next time. However, the white trash hash was SO, SO worth it! I could have eaten a whole plate of that. My boyfriends french toast was amazing and the Rocky Road sauce was decadent. Brunch was fairly successful but definitely the most expensive meal we had in Nashville. We also ended up ordering this place one night on UberEats and I really enjoyed my tavern salad and the turkey sub. They were unexpectedly closed (put that ish on your social media, folks!) and I was cranky and in great desire of a decent cocktail. After striking out a several other bars and restaurants in the area, Tavern was next on the list of places to try. And Tavern really came through! We were happy to sit at the bar where there were several seats open, but we probably could have been seated at a table right away as well. Now, after our failed attempts at getting a cocktail elsewhere, I immediately perused the short but interesting libations list. Several sounded delicious and I my excitement was renewed. I started with the Lavenda Punch, because I am currently obsessed with lavender as a flavor in things. It was pretty gol-dang delicious! But the second cocktail I got was even BETTER. The 1920 was refreshing and delicious. Just...yum. The bartender was great at making the cocktails. Between my two cocktails, I decided I wanted a little something to munch on while we sipped our adult beverages. A LOT of the food looks really interesting...but we really just wanted something snacky and munchy, not a whole meal. So we opted for the Tavern fries. You can get them in three different varieties, and we chose Tuscan. Garlic, parmesan, and red pepper flakes. They were delicious! But that is almost secondary to the sheer volume of fries you get per order! Holy mountain of fried, carb-y goodness! I do wish that this option came with a dip. I don't like ketchup, and I thought that garlic aioli that comes with the Belgian fries would make a great accompaniment. I asked the bartender for some. He brought the garlic version as well as a pepper version as well. They were GREAT with the fries. I don't recall if there was an extra charge for the aioli, but even if there is...you should get it. I started out with the blackberry concoction-- tastes like a strong blackberry margarita. After a failed attempt at a much busier and more popular restaurant nearby, we found the Tavern to be the perfect spot to start off our Nashville trip. There was no wait on a Friday night around 11pm. We were starving and impatient for something satisfyingly unhealthy and delicious. The two of us definitely over-ordered. After we received our beer and cider orders, we placed our gargantuan order for two: the Tuscan style Tavern fries, which was HUGE, the chips and guacamole and the fish and chips. Obviously, the healthy factor was not an issue. Everything was tasty, just in huge portions. The Tavern fries were easy to munch on, although there was way too much. We probably could have ordered this alone. But I guess if an order of fries cost $6.50, I wouldn't expect just a small tin. The guacamole was interesting. The goat cheese gave it a different flavor - but I liked it. There were so many chips but at the same time, there was a lot of guac. The fish and chips wasn't bad, not mind blowing either. It was so greasy I could only take several bites before calling it quits. I love when my fried fish is super tender and juicy, but this was a bit much. When each bite you take the grease seems to flow out into your mouth, it may be too much. Overall, a delicious late night meal for ones who were unable to wait 45 minutes for a table at 9:30pm elsewhere... Visiting Nashville for the weekend, our group had to make a stop at Tavern for brunch. And by brunch, I mean a 2 PM brunch. The whole place was pretty hopping on a Saturday afternoon, but we were seated rather quickly. We all grabbed drinks at the bar beforehand and they had a really nice special going on two beers for six dollars. I got to try the brunch burger which was really yummy. We split it between two of us and it was still plenty of food. Their fries are absolutely delicious, our server recommended the Tuscan seasoning and it was a worthwhile choice! Our AirBnB host recommended this place during our visit to Nashville. It got good reviews so we decided to check it out for brunch on Sunday. The wait was at least 30 minutes when we got there but we were able to luck out on two seats at the bar. During brunch there are certain drinks that are buy one get one free so we jumped on that. Unfortunately it is per person so after they give you your drink, they hand you a token for your next drink. My sister and I tried the Blood Orange Mimosa and Bellini Sparkle. I thought both were just right in the sweetness department and the alcohol taste was subtle. For the grub I ordered the Benedict Uno (braised short ribs, 2 poached eggs, english muffins and tabasco hollandaise). Short ribs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was a tad spicy but enough for this weakling to handle. My sister ordered the Blueberry Cornmeal Waffle (cinnamon molasses and whipped mascarpone) with a side of White Trash Hash (hashbrown casserole with white cheddar cheese). I tasted some of her meal and it was good too. I'm a fan of mascarpone so it was a nice compliment to the waffle. The has was good too, I've never had hash served as a ball before. We enjoyed our meal but the only problem we had was the long wait to get our food. The kitchen must have been really backed up or our bartender didn't put in our order right away. Cute space for business lunches, dinner with friends, happy hour and date night. Why 3 stars? Service. I have managed to have different people each time I go serve at my table all who end up seemingly being stand offish or aren't very attentive to our table. This has now happened on 4 different occasions in recent memory. This tends to be a go-to place for my work lunches, and it is usually just 2 or 3 of us who goes so it is not a large group matter or anything. When we go, it is also not during prime rush hour. We will go around 11:30 when there are still many tables that are open. I want to like this place more than I do. I appreciate their 'quicky' they have to offer which is a menu item of the day that other wise might not be on the regular menu... call it their special item for the day. Their housemade chips are seriously addictive, and their burger is a taste of heaven. You really can't go wrong with their sandwiches. Prices are a bit higher than I would expect to pay for an eatery such as this. Example - their Seoul bowl is $17. It might be a large amount of food, but for the contents, I can't justify the price. Charging $13 for a burger in my mind makes sense especially with the quality. I could justify in my mind paying for $14-15 for it. Beers on tap are generally regional with a wide selection of local beers too. I haven't drank here yet, but I want to. At the end of the day, the service can make or break the experience. Please look into this because if this is happening to me routinely, this is bound to be happening to other people. As you know - I will be back! read more

Quick note: we had to wait 1.5 hours for a table, and the place was packed even after we were seated, so be prepared to wait or grab a drink nearby. The vibe is cool upscale sports bar. HUGE bar with massive TVs, and you're welcome to sit there and eat (we did). If you're lucky, Wes will serve you at the bar! We were delighted to find that "brunch cocktails" are 2 for 1 on Sundays, so we started with Bloody Marys & Mimosas. Then we ordered several dishes to share. Nothing was out of this world amazing, but it was all good, and the vibe makes it well worth it. I can't say enough good things about this place! I showed up for brunch on a Sunday and there was about a 90min wait and it was so packed, I thought it was 11p on a Saturday night at a popular club. It was like sardines trying to make it to the bar to get a drink. The crowd is young to middle aged and everyone is there for the same reason- the excellent food drinks, and drink specials. A lot of drinks are 2 for 1 and very high quality. Since you are able to drink and get the deal while waiting, the wait goes by fairly fast. I tried the blood orange mimosa, sparkling Bellini, Bloody Mary and sangria (I am not a sangria fan and this was awesome- they added champagne to it). The atmosphere is very cozy and upscale and there is a small dining patio. You could show up casual or dressed up and you wouldn't look out of place. A bit of a wait for dinner so make sure you get a reservation if you can. We got an appetizer - buffalo cauliflower. It's slightly breaded and engulfed in buffalo sauce. Good taste, but would've preferred to have it a bit crispier. Ordered the burger - cooked medium, lettuce, tomato, American (cheese is extra). The fries were okay - comes in a little fryer basket. The burger had a good sear on the outside and properly seasoned with salt. Good spot for food and drinks. read more
