This is a nice locale to watch a game. I came here to enjoy Team USA bring home the gold in men's basketball and was pleasantly surprised by how quaint it felt, as if I walked into an episode of "Cheers" (some of you may be too young to understand that reference but that's okay). There are plenty of TVs and for LA, the drinks are moderately priced.I was happy that it was full of sports fans who were actually there to watch the game, so it wasn't too packed or noisy. It felt like you were watching the game with some of your best friends who you've just met. Soooooo to be honest, we came to see a friends band preform. Y'all may know I don't drink, so I can't rate the beverages, however, I can tell you about the two appetizers we tried. The gal that took our order was extremely friendly and our order came out fairly quickly. I choose the shishito peppers and my BF ordered the fried pickles. Both choices were actually VERY good. I stopped by the Tavern on main with my partner in crime for a late night hangout. The tavern is big and spacious with two different sides of seating on each side of the bar plus outside seating in front of the tavern. This place has a very cool, diverse crowd. Definitely was a friendly vibe. The drink I ordered wasn't very strong. In fact, they were a little weak. I did ask for a shot with a coke on the side, and that seemed to work better. We ordered the carnitas Tavern Nachos, buffalo wings, and carnitas tacos. The nachos rocked and had plenty of toppings for every single chip. The wings were amazing, and the Buffalo sauce was on point. The tacos were good, but they lacked toppings, and we ordered the mango sauce and, unfortunately we did not taste anything with mango. After all that, we ordered two root beer floats, and these freaking floats are "HUGE" and taste so good, and they come in giant beer mugs. The prices are reasonable and fair, especially for the food. The parking is tight, but they have plenty of parking right around the corner (free parking). The staff is super cool and friendly and pay attention to your table without bugging you shout out to Diana. We had a great time and will be back soon. read more

Female bar tender (Maddie) greeted me then immediately walks away only to come back to her phone. She did this about 3x ignoring me each time...apparently her text messages were more important than ensuring a customer has been served. I mean that's what a bartender does right?...correct me if I'm wrong. After roughly 15 mins of sitting at a mostly empty bar another male bartender finally acknowledged me and promptly took my order. He displayed more professionalism than the other bar tender (Maddie). It was very obvious that each bar tender had their own section of the bar but it's sad when someone else has to pickup another employee's slack due to lack of attentiveness. The time was 10pm and the place literally did not close for another 2hrs. The least (Maddie) could have done was take my order then move to the next customer. It's not that hard to just do your job...or at least I did think it was. Definitely need to improve on the customer service aspect of this individual and bar. Didn't really mean to make it about this person but in the service industry it's your job to extend customer service and satisfaction which your compensation is dependent upon. Customers do not require much at a bar...all they want to do is to be acknowledged and/or served. This was not the vibe tonight...apparently I should just be subjected to poor service and just STFU!!!....I guess you know when I'll be back...NEVER! read more

Been here a few times before thru the years. The wife and I still love barfood type places and this is truly a sports bar first with its TVs and many beer selections. Food is standard fare for what you expect at a similar place, we enjoy the happy hour as the servers are quick to get your orders in. Recommended for any game that might be on as they'll get a tv tuned if they have the service. Appreciate the a local place treating everyone well as it seems Segundo keeps getting more and more popular. read more

Excellent place to watch the World Series! Or any sort of game since they have about 100 TVs at every possible angle, which is awesome! Great happy hour deals (Mon-Fri 5-7pm) $5 for big mugs of Coors light, Bud, or Bud Light and some appetizers as well. Regular non-happy hour menu prices for food and beer aren't bad either. Super nice and friendly staff, even when the place is packed, they are still attentive and so friendly! Bathroom lines can get a bit long, just FYI. We had a really cool experience at this little sports bar. We arrived on a Wednesday around 6:45pm for an event. They had a whiskey and tequila tasting set up for us. They had Regular, Lime, Grapefruit, and Pineapple Jalapeño Tequila. I tried the Grapefruit. It was good, but it was so strong when it hit my chest going down that I'm sure my boobs grew a couple inches! I think my pupils dilated and everything! They also had Bourbon, Apple, and Peach whiskey. All of them sounded delicious, but I was still recovering from the Tequila tasting that I didn't dare try the whiskey, though there was a smoking hottie serving it! Why couldn't he be serving food?? I would have stood there all night! Lol! Anyway, this place appears to be a neighborhood hangout that caters to people of all ages. Besides being a bar, they also have a pretty extensive food menu and they are open early enough for breakfast, which was impressive! They have a full kitchen that serves everything from breakfast burritos and tacos to eggs Benedict and corned beef hash and eggs. If you come later on in the day, they have appetizers like Irish nachos and a slew of sliders like the Philly cheesesteak, mini brat, and pulled pork. Lunch and dinner options are extensive! For burgers, you can choose between an angus beef, grilled chicken breast, turkey, or a veggie patty. They serve Nathan's hot dogs, hot or cold sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, and even a famous housemade chili, pretzels, and fried green beans. The vibe was cozy and comfortable. There's an outside patio with a few tables. The owner was super nice and inviting; even thanked us for coming. We really liked that the music was low enough for us to hear each other, as well! They have big screen TV's everywhere, and comfortable seating. You could easily sit here all day if you wanted to. I definitely plan to visit again! read more

We live in El Segundo and I'm 30 years past my prime drinking age but I still enjoy a good drink and some pub food every once in a while. Well, if you're young or old, the Tavern is a great place for either one or both. Depending on the night of the week, you may have to wait for a while to get a good seat. This almost happened to us on this particular Friday night. It's early in this new year but it has already presented a few challenges for me. So instead of staying in, we decide to go out for a drink and some grub. We wondered in around 6:45pm and every seat at their large wrap around bar was taken. A couple of the bartenders noticed we were looking for seats and one walked the entire bar to see if any were available. They were all taken. Another employee noticed us pacing about and offered a couple of seats at a table away from the bar. I was disappointed as I prefer to sit at the bar but we were there and wanted to eat. So, just as we were going to sit, one of bartenders called to us, "we have two seats for you". Note, we do go in a few times during the year but we're not regulars. I was extremely pleased that they took the extra effort to find us those seats. They did so by asking a couple of regulars to move around and make room for us. Very nice. By the time we got our seats, it was 6:55 and happy hour ends at 7. Another employee asked if we wanted anything from the HH menu and we said yes. She grabbed a bartender and we were able to get some happy hour items ordered right away - thank you. If you like tater tots, order them here. We also ordered the boneless chicken wings and I'd pass on these - these were more like chicken tenders and just okay. We also ordered the pork sliders and there were tasty and spicy! They have some interesting choices for food so I think you'll find something to like. We got our drink orders in and both were made to our liking. They have a full bar and make a good drink. We also picked up one of their trivia boxes and played that for a while. It was exactly what I needed...a good drink, some pub grub, some small talk with the staff and a little distraction with the trivia. Walking back home I felt much better than when I left. So, if you're in the area, looking for a good drink, some good pub food or just some conversation, give the Tavern a shot. Enjoy! read more
