I picked this spot since we have never been here and it looked like a good places from some of the reviews. I made reservations and it was dinner time on Valentine's day. It was busy at the bar but not to bad for the main dinning. I checked in and we were seated right away. The girl asked us to follow her to our seats seemed to be looking at the open tables and decided to put us in the middle of the room at a 4 person table. I saw that the entire section with booths was empty. I asked her if we could get a booth and she said "well those are for booked people." uhm I booked a reservation. She waited a second and walked back to the reception desk. Soon she came back and sat us at a booth which was a table for 2. So weird. Our server was really nice and laid back. He knelt down and told us the specials. SO as far as service it was very good. My wife wasn't very hungry so she was looking for a small dish. She got the Caesar salad and it was good. She also got the Parmesan Risotto. It was actually a side dish. When it came out it was tomato based and didn't have any parmesan on it. I asked the server and he said it was infused with lobster sauce. which wasn't want she wanted. He asked to take it away but my wife said no and didn't want to bother with it. I really think it was the risotto that was connected to a special dish and not the side. I started out with the steamed clams. They were good flavor and I liked the sauce with it but some of the clams didn't open which is bad. they were a nice size to. Next was the pork chop wrapped in bacon. It was cooked and tasted ok. I just expected more from this place. The server came back and was apologizing about my wife's risotto and offered to take care of the dessert . So we got the chocolate lava cake. It was really chocolaty. This place was just ok.

Had such a great experience at Taverna. Service was very friendly and quick, our food came out within 15 minutes of ordering, which made the whole experience feel smooth and relaxed. Started with the Kapalua Sunset cocktail, a crisp sparkling wine that was light and refreshing, perfect for a casual sip. The Beet 21 Salad was beautifully done. I loved the addition of mac nuts for that extra crunch, and the goat cheese paired so well with the beets and fresh peaches. The combination of sweet, creamy, and nutty flavors made it feel really well balanced. The Truffle Mushroom Pizza was rich and full of umami, with creamy mushrooms and fresh arugula on top to brighten everything up. The view also makes this place special with spectacular scenery overlooking the golf course, especially around sunset. Great food, quick service, and an unbeatable ambiance. Would definitely come back again.

The lasagne- get there early to order it as this was the last piece that evening!

Taverna is my new favorite dinner spot in Maui. Service is not the fastest but my husband and I like to enjoy our dinners at a leisurely pace anyway! Love the upscale club vibe and the live music. Alejandro was our waiter-he gave us great food and wine suggestions. The truffle gnocchi is superb!

Taverna on kapalua golf course is lovely restaurant with that country club feel. Think wood grain floors, walls, tables and polo shirts. They have a full cellar, clever bar concoctions along with the classics and good service, from the hostesses, waiters and bar tenders. The food is fresh and local, a bit of an Italian lean on their predominantly local fare. They advertise using local fish caught by local fisherman. The ahi tuna was fresh, the sides were tasty, and nothing was done to ruin the excellent cut of fish. The Onaga or red snapper was the fish of the day and it was perfectly pan fried, tasty and simple with a side of steamed vegetables and rice. We enjoyed the vibe, the service and food. Pricey--not surprisingly so given the location--but not unaffordable for a lovely date night.

Love Taverna! We had a larger party and were seated quickly overlooking the "T-Off" zone as the golfers say. Food was amazing, most of our party got the Catch Bowl. All desserts were great too. I recommend the Drunken Affogato and Truffle Fries!

Cauliflower steak, rice and carrots. 4.5 stars out of 5.

Service was great! Food was very mediocre for the price. Missing the seasoning. Scallops were a little overcooked. Caesar salad was good and the cauliflower steak was very good. Really expected the most expensive item on the menu ( shrimp and scallops) To be amazing-it wasn't. The ambience was very loud but aesthetically pleasing. Can't remember our server but she went to college in Arizona and was by far the best part of the evening!

We walked over to Taverna from the Ritz-Carlton and were immediately impressed by the beautiful setting overlooking the golf range. Highly recommend sitting outside for happy hour or dinner to take in the view. The food did not disappoint--our table had the ahi steak, meat pizza, and filet mignon, all of which were delicious and well-prepared. The ambiance was relaxed yet upscale, making it a perfect spot for a great meal. If you're a wine lover like us, bring your favorite bottle! The corkage fee is $35, which is reasonable for the area and well worth it to enjoy a special wine with your meal. The only reason I'd give a 3.5 is the service. Younger staff that was a bit green and slow. I think this is an area of improvement that could be easily enhanced.

    scallop and shrimp

OBSESSED! the view is amazing the customer service is 10/10 and the food is absolutely amazing. we had the rack of lamb and the shrimp and scallop dish as well as some appetizers, everything was incredible and delicious. Our server O, was very polite and very knowledgeable about the menu!

Speciality pizza, pasta carbonara, and special house made pasta with prawns...

Had dinner here tonight....there were some good things, some meh things, and some things just done wrong. Pros: servers were friendly, some food items (meatballs and specialty pizza for the day) were executed well. Good flavor, nice crust on the pizza, tasty marinara sauce on the meatballs. Cons: service was slow and most of what we ordered, outside of the pizza and meatballs were not that good. Pasta dishes (evening special and pasta carbonara) were overcooked (mushy), evening special had prawns, good sized ones, but overcooked as well. Was a huge disappointment as it smelled really good when plates of it walked by our table! We struck a conversation with table next to us, and they also noted overcooked shrimp (rubbery). Overall, a disappointing meal with a few glimmers of decently cooked dishes, thus a 3 versus a 2.

I loved the Ostro from Italy with apple notes and my friend loved the Michael David from California with Blackberry and Vanilla notes. We shared the Mixed Charcuterie which really was the best of both worlds, meat and cheese wise! There was an assortment of cubed cheese, Brie and another Whipped Cheese on the side, some Marcona almonds (that's definitely a favorite now! It tastes like cashews and are more round) that was soaked in Olive oil, Fig Jam, Honey, Grapes, Cornichons (the cutest pickles), Olive Tapenade, Olives, Prosciutto, Salami, Dried Apricot, Side of Ciabatta bread and some Rosemary Crackers! We could've shared Half of a Charcuterie board for the 2 of us. This full board can feed 3-5 people unless you're super hungry. My friend enjoyed the Lady and the Scamp more than me. I love mustard but the Dijon aioli was a bit too strong for me. Ambiance is wonderful especially after a long work week! Great to treat yourself once in awhile. Our waiter took our order, never brought my wife's glass of wine; then after we had waited 25 minutes without getting anything, he stopped by to ask us how things were going so far. We were baffled: "We haven't received any food or drinks yet." Another 10 minutes later, he showed up again, apologized and said the restaurant's manager had said their order-entry system had gone down and that our order would be one of the first to go in w/the tech running again. Then another 25 minutes passed, other tables got their food, and we sat empty-handed. Two of our party finally complained to multiple staff; our waiter said to calm down and that our food would be ready in another 10 minutes (seriously?); and very soon thereafter, our food finally arrived. No apologies from the restaurant, no follow-up on why the order took another half-hour after their system was allegedly running again, no sign of our appetizers or wine. We were OK w/those last details because after waiting more than an hour, we were ready to leave. Our order finally arrived more than an hour after we had placed it, and the food was fine. After the meal, I asked three employees if I could speak with the manager; each was evasive or said he's hard to reach. Finally, our waiter claimed (no idea whether this is true) that they had no more kitchen staff, the owner was cooking all the food, and the restaurant was due to close in the next few days. I understand that this is a tourist-centered area, but I cannot fathom paying $40+ for pasta... the serving size for most of our food was disappointing to say the least. The Alaskan roll had barely any fish and the rolls were not very big. It was falsely advertised to us by our waiter that a roll could easily feed 6-7 people. Please refer to the pictures below to reference serving size. - the food itself was not up to standard, especially for the outrageous price we paid for it all. The short rib wontons... first of all, I recommend Sansei changes the name of this dish because are a far cry from wontons. They did not taste good and there was barely any filling in them. The Alaskan roll tasted like only rice and cucumber. The cooked salmon was dry and came with a single jumbo shrimp... - our main waiter was rude, he did not seem to have much patience, giving us attitude and tone that did not feel appropriate.
