Wowwwwww. TCBY sure has changed a lot since I was a kid! I've been gone from Texas about 25 years, so when I went to visit, I was expecting "old" TCBY with old fashioned "yogurt" (it was all soft serve then, not really yogurt)...but now it has the whole Yogurtland/Menchie's setup/style and comparable flavors. Way to go! Change is good. I came in with a group of about 8 terrible children who don't listen and the whole staff was patient and understanding. They let me add to my order one at a time as I wrangled the demons and would save my order, help another customer, and then come back to me when I completed each order per demon. That was so helpful so I didn't hold up the line. I judge every place by the plain tart frozen yogurt and it was good! I like my plain tart super thick and creamy white and extremely tart. This was like 80 percent of what I was looking for. Not as white, thick and creamy...sort of icier than creamy...but it was good and refreshing and hit the spot. I love Froyo! Just discovered this location last night when I wanted a late night treat. They close at 10pm. This location is self service, so you can choose whatever toppings you want from your favorite candy bar pieces to gummy worms, mochi and fresh fruit. I hope they add some kind of covering to the toppings so kids aren't just reaching over everything. I enjoyed the vanilla and Italian tart. We came for a sweet treat after the movie theater and was excited to try TCBY! I used to have one in my hometown growing up, so it was cool to bring that nostalgia back. They have frozen yogurt & ice cream! I chose the cookies and cream ice cream and added crushed Oreos and brownie bites. They have lots of seating outside ad well! I'll admit, it was a little bit of a shock for how much it changed, this is now a full on fro yo place, but the chocolate vanilla swirl did not change. I haven't been to a TCBY in a long time. It actually exceeded my expectations. I really liked the flavor options they had and had no problem finding one i liked. The set up is back to how it was pre Covid for the most part which surprised me just a bit. All patrons have access to all the toppings and ice cream. But even so I felt comfortable and the set up was well maintained/clean. I liked the selection of toppings and felt like there were plenty of options. I didn't wait in line long and checked out with an amazingly friendly cashier. I was actually taken aback at how genuine she was and that is what really impressed me about my experience and prompted me to leave a review. Wow did not know TCBY still exists. Was driving in south Austin with some friends and noticed the sign for TCBY. Had to immediately pull over. Obviously over the time the concept has evolved and it looks and feels different walking into today's TCBY. This particular location was clean, well stocked toppings and staff was engaged. The girls offered us sample cups to try out the yogurt. Flavors could have been little better but I am sure they rotate the flavors every so often. I guess I am used to my pistachios, toasted coconuts at menchies and Yogurtland. Honestly all these yogurt places have similar product. As a consumer to me they all taste same. And they all have similar young shook crown working. Over all great experience here but won't be driving all the way south from north for TCBY. read more

Not my favorite, but the place is clean and the service was good. I just wasn't very impressed with the yogurt or the toppings for some reason. Lucky for them they're in a place where there's not a whole lot of froyo competition! Heck yeah! My other yogurt place went out of business and so my family and I tried this one tonight. They have COCONUT milk and ALMOND milk yogurt! IM so excited by it. The toppings weren't all that I would want, but for the average bear it's great on that. They were very busy tonight, and rightfully so. Oh it's .49 a ounce and by weight. I used to LOVE TCBY when I was younger. They had the best sorbet (particularly the key-lime and raspberry flavors). I was home visiting my folks and decided to stop by here since I love fro-yo and hadn't been to TCBY in years. This place is as good as I remember it, but it's different now that it is self-serve. I was surprised that the sample cups were right next to the larger cups. At other places that I have been to, you have to ask the employees for samples. I didn't want to go overboard on the samples, but I definitely tried a few flavors before settling on Italian Tart. I wasn't going to add any toppings to it since it was so good on it's own, but I opted for the Heath toffee crumbles. Wow that was a great decision. I ate it up so fast and wanted another one, but refrained from doing so. I also noticed that they had some yogurts behind the counter as well. This places has a lot of flavor and topping options. The staff was super friendly so that was a plus. With this location being so close to my parents' house, I may be stopping here more often whenever I go home to visit them. read more

We went to TCBY off Slaughter tonight. I asked a girl named Courtney about which machines usually have what. I had heard some machines always have the same flavor. My daughter has allergies to some foods. She said the chocolate and vanilla are always in the same machines. On the far side, those machines never rotate anything peanut. She detailed which machines currently had almond (I didn't ask. but her attention to detail!). Without being asked, she told me how they clean the machines between flavors. This whole food allergy process is still very new to me, and I'm already tired of the blank stares, wrong answers, and lack of interest.
