I found this place located in my neighborhood offering a head spa service. I was happy to find out they are also a full service hair salon with knowledge of all hair type. I want a good scalp cleanse after having braids for a while. I called to book their scalp detox and was able to get in very quickly. I cautioned of my hair type to make sure they were comfortable and there was no hesitance which made me feel comfortable. I had a fantastic experience with Armina. She walked me through the process while also letting me enjoy a good relaxing scalp experience. My hair was so clean and set a great foundation for my styling. My husband got me a gift certificate for the 60 minute Royal Headspa Experience that I had seen on Social Media. I was mostly going for the relaxation and this experience definitely delivers. I made an appointment online and then went to TCG's location in the Hourglass District. They did send a note beforehand, saying what to expect, how to show up (with unwashed hair), and to not show up too far in advance as they have limited seating. It is a small location and in addition to the Headspa, they are a full service Aveda Hair salon. There are two Headspa scalp analysis stations at the front as well as two Headspa beds in the back. The description did say that there may be other guests in the same room as you and when I arrived, someone else had already started her experience but it was fine. It really didn't impact my experience at all. Abigail had me sit at the scalp analysis station and then asked me questions about my hair and scalp, as well as how much pressure I preferred for massages (the 60 minute experience includes a leg massage, a hand massage and of course the head massages throughout), and what temperature I like the water. She then had me pick which essential oils scent I would like - I chose bergamot and lavender - which would permeate the experience. Abigail viewed my scalp through a magnifying camera and showed that I had product residue on my scalp all along the bottom of the hair shafts. I then changed into a robe and got on one of the Headspa beds. I was covered with blankets as well as a weighted blanket and it was so relaxing already. Abigail then covered my eyes and started working on my scalp and hair. To be honest, I really have no idea what she did, LOL, but it felt great! There were a few tools that really massaged my scalp as well as several different products. During the session, she massaged my legs as well as moisturized and massaged my hands. Then it was time for the cold rinse of my hair and my session was, sadly, over. When we returned to the magnifying camera, I was amazed at how shiny and clean my scalp was! Abigail then put in a detangler and brushed my hair. My hair is too short for braids but a simple braid is included if your hair is long enough. Not included is a blow dry, as that is a separate cost, but my hair was just slightly damp so I was fine. This is a great experience and I will definitely do it again. read more

This review is specifically for the 60-min Royal Headspa Experience* I was sick for most of last week with seasonal allergies and felt like pampering myself once the symptoms subsided. I saw a giveaway video on Instagram showing off their headspa service and it looked amazing so I decided to treat myself since it was a rough week. I was SO excited to just kick back and relax but I have to say, the experience definitely exceeded my expectations! It was a level of pampering I haven't experienced before even though I regularly get massages and other spa services - so I'm glad it was money well spent! It started out with a scalp analysis and consultation. You can see my "before" photo and just how scaly and oily my scalp was prior to the experience. I have seborrheic dermatitis so it limits the kinds of finishing products that can be used in my hair, like conditioners and leave-ins, so I brought my own moisturizer for them to finish off my scalp and face with - super nice of them to allow me to do that! We discussed my skin condition more as well as my scalp goals, and then it was time to head back to the headspa. Their team gave me a robe to change into and held onto all of my belongings for me. I wished I grabbed a photo of the room but it was a dark, quiet, and serene environment with just enough room for two people to be treated - a note to myself to bring my wife next time! Dude. The scalp shampooing and massage alone are worth the price of admission but the mini facial, neck massage, arm and leg massages were simply incredible. I felt like a king for that hour and couldn't wait to tell my wife and friends about it. Check out the "after" pic! My scalp felt squeaky clean and I felt rejuvenated. 5-star experience, hands down. Addiction to the deposit fee of 129 dollars I had been charge 215 dollars for the head spa treatment. I had a headspa experience and it was like nothing I've ever had before/after. I loved getting to see what my scalp looked like before and go over all the details about my hair/scalp and my goals. It was also so nice to have several scents to choose from for once you went into your spa room. They took what I said to heart and really took care of me while in the spa! It's a private room so you're not distracted by other guests, and you can book with another person if you'd like. It was like in a dream with how much I felt pampered! I cannot help that I have a lot of hair and that it takes longer to do my hair, i understand charging a set price, but it's not comfortable knowing that just because my hair is thicker than others or longer, I have to be charged more. Other Aveda products that they sell was used on my hair & I loved them. Very natural and good smelling, leaving my hair flawless. William did an excellent job! His work ethic and the conversation made the appointment go by so fast! Love TCG. I had an appointment with Demi for highlights. I was immediately greeted, sat down and picked out my aroma for my shoulder massage, which is so relaxing. Afterwards, she listened to what I was thinking, as far as color, and told me what she thought, but left the final decision up to me. We proceeded with full foil highlights and toner. After my shampooing, I received a wonderful hand massage, as well as a warm towel over my head with Aveda's aromatherapy. Demi gave me a nice trim. I love the fact she listens and never cuts off more than I want. The Aveda products are truly amazing and I highly recommend the line. They tell you every product they use. I scheduled an eyebrow wax online and arrived a few minutes before my appointment. I waited in my car until 11 am (when the apt was and when the shop opened). So I initially came in for a perm, haircut and the combo treatment of botanical and parmasana. Disappointingly, they couldn't do my perm because they didn't have enough of the products needed. Which I hoped they told me over the phone when we were talking before I came in. (I was really looking forward to that) Thanks to demi, i think shes knowledgeable about what she does and gives really good advice on how you want your hair styled. I basically trusted her for my haircut and even though its not what I expected, i ended up liking it anyway. As for the treatment, I was expecting a very clean refreshed scalp after getting their scalp treatment but was a little disappointed as I can still see and feel the build up i had before.
