I received on my Internet an invitation to go to defense…read morepractice organization for a 1 hour Presentation on how to shoot weapons, including high powered weapons and learn about self defense. I thought that sounds like a lot of fun. So I called the number and was able to secure an appointment a week later and received several emails during that week. Asking me to check off and sign a waiver and also told I could invite a friend. I decided to invite my best friend and later. We decided what day we could go and signed up. We got there a few minutes early and this place was really nice in burbank right off the five freeway near bueno vista avenue and found a parking spot and went in to the front where we were greeted by a receptionist who had us fill out the waiver again and check all the boxes and sign it, and then we were good to go. A very large man came out and said he was our trainer. And his name was robert, and he was an ex army man who had been stationed overseas and had.I've been in many real life.Dangerous situations in combat. He showed us many different training rooms, where he explained that they don't use real guns with real bullets, but they use laser guns or bullets that were round. And made of rubber. Different rooms taught different types of training. Including learning self defense techniques where people can basically learn many types of moves that they can make if somebody were to be attacking them. And they did not have a weapon or didn't want to start by using a weapon. He then took us into our own private training room and explained different laws and different techniques of how you should respond in Different scenarios and then put on videos for us to practice with. But the first thing he did was show us a target and had us use laser guns to aim and fire at a target. He taught us how to get a gun out of our holster properly. And how to aim and shoot and first in a relaxed situation. And then in a real life type scenario with a video in front of us, we were ask to respond as if it were a real life situation. All in all we both learned a lot. How to fun time? And at the very end, we were offered a membership for twelve months.Although it was a little expensive for our pocket books, it was tempting. And if I were maybe thirty years younger, I probably would have gone for it kind of like a gym membership. In any event, it was a great experience. And fun, and we learned a lot about the laws. And how you can defend yourself. And when you can shoot, and when you cannot shoot. So I do think it was worth the hour-long training just to learn that. And had a fun time, so I strongly recommend it, and I will take a picture of Roberts business card. So, if you would like to go to your 1 hour training session, you might call them up and see if you can't at least go. And check it out, like I did. And then you may decide you want to do it twice a month for a year, or longer.

My boyfriend and I signed up for a free introductory session at United Defense Tactical recently,…read moreand I'm really glad I did. The class was about an 90 minutes long (30 minutes longer than advertised, but it didn't matter because it was an excellent introduction ) and took place using a simulator with a laser training firearm. We went through different target exercises, including one that simulated a potential armed encounter, which definitely got my attention. There were 3 of us in the classroom setting and each of us had a different simulated experience. Our instructor and representative for United Defense Tactical , Spike, was an excellent teacher--calm, clear, and very concise in his guidance. After my first few attempts, he gave me specific feedback that helped me better understand how to improve my reaction time and decision-making. I also really appreciated how knowledgeable he is about California laws, especially when it comes to when it's appropriate to engage and when it's not. What stood out most is how important proper training is before even thinking about purchasing a firearm. It made me realize that responsibility and awareness come first. They offer several membership options that gives you access to continued training, which is a meaningful investment if you're serious about learning how to protect yourself responsibly. I also like that they incorporate hand-to-hand training into their program. I highly recommend taking advantage of the free one-hour session ( could go longer so be prepared for that ) just to see how it feels. For me, it's something I am definitely considering.

Everyone minds there own business. You dont feel judged. When I say they have about almost everything you need im not joking. Their gym equipment is very modern to help build your gains. Additionally they have a physical therapist and about 30 trainers in total perhaps about 6 daily. They have a refrigerator to store your lunches in, a water cooler, private lockers and showers, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc. The only downside is you may feel crowded when you workout bc of all the variety of gym equipment but this gym is meant to keep a threshold and did i mention this gym is 24/7??? Take advantage if you're early bird. I struggled a bit with their equipment ngl, bc im still a newb to weight lifting and im not familiar with seeing equipments having an on/off switch to load/unload weights however, i thought it was cool. I really enjoyed their dumbells and im glad for the most part, everyone reracks them. Sadlly im a starving student so it doesnt fit my budget yet. hopefully it will in the near future. I wish them the best. this gym deserves a lot of recognition!

I explained that I didn't know much about CrossFit, but did know my way around free weights and equipment. I was thoroughly prepped on what to expect, and that I was encouraged to start slow and at my own pace. When I first arrived for class, all the clients were friendly and encouraging. Hard working, but not an overly athletic vibe. As a beginner I did not feel intimidated nor overwhelmed. The workouts are geared for RX/Expert level, but are easily scaled for each individual's skill and ability level. Ownership sets a standard of hygiene and requiring all members to wipe down and disinfect all used equipment as the classes take place live. There was minimal equipment, that is of the highest quality. I thought a gym would need all kinds of equipment? But we achieve all the Physical results with the equipment provided and the plethora of routines prescribed each day. Simple workouts, with instruction, supervision and concern for each client. Open Gym 1 also has personal training and open gym times 6 days weekly. Pricing was competitive with all gyms in the surrounding area. Gym 1 has changed my life. In the past year I've changed my body shape, gained substantial muscle mass, and I'm in the best shape I've been in the last 25 years. I'm in my mid 50's and owe a debt of gratitude to the staff and clients of Open Gym 1. Orale

Months ago, I lost my grandmother's ring. Poof. Gone. Somewhere in the gym, that ring was twinkling around, and I could not find it. This was ALSO the day my hot water heater died, so I desperately needed a shower and it was just -- I was spazzing. Carley, one of the wonderful receptionists, scoured the gym with and for me. She checked corners, retraced steps, talked me down from CrazyTown, and pulled out a broom to do a literal sweep. She found it. I just. GIRL. 2. Today, a woman who cut me off and brake-checked me repeatedly *followed me into the gym parking lot*. I entered the space pretty frazzled and shaky after the altercation. Amanda, the manager, took one look at me, asked what happened and if I was okay, and proceeded to have me breathe with her to calm down. And you guys. If I'm not a sucker for good, caring customer service... But I'm also a sucker for good *employer/employee* service and I really think I see that here too; the desk folk stick around for years, they work out in the space, they seem to really get along with each other, themselves, AND the clientele. Less personal story time: they actually use the AC and keep the space cool, they aren't bumping club music constantly, they're 18+, I saw a gal with a tripod set up ONCE and that shit was nipped immediately... So fine, you win, Everfit! My comically lame workouts continue because I don't think anyone does it better.

The classes are motivating and challenging. My favorite part of the program is that you get to meet up once a month with a coach to set exercise and weight loss/body fat goals. She truly cares about how I'm doing and is always there to answer questions and keep me on track. I take Dawns classes a lot and they are great! Rami and Alicia are also amazing. We always get a total body workout. Each class is always different and new. They also have occasional ToughGirl hikes! As well as workouts in the park.
