Terrible customer service now. What changed? . It used to be great years ago. Even the signal is spotty now and it didn't used to be.

I called to possibly sign up service and after the rep tried to quickly blast through the information needed to sign me up I was informed I needed to send them the deed to my new property just to get service. I didn't feel comfortable doing that so I stated I wanted to call around to some other companies for quotes and the rep snapped back at me and asked why would I let her run my credit if I wasn't going to sign up today? Excuse me, but I wasn't aware you needed everything, but a blood sample to just get WIFI! She then hung up on me! I never write reviews and it takes a lot for me to get upset, but this really rubbed me the wrong way. I can only imagine the customer service issues I would encounter if I ever had a problem with my service if I had signed up. I guess the rude rep saved me headache down the road. read more

What a bullshit company and i feel bad for the people who work for them because im sure they get yelled at often. DO NOT GO TO TDS FOR ANYTHING!! I was signed on and had no problems for a year and then all of a sudden my BASIC internet was over $100. I called them and they said i was on a promo but i was never told that and there online page said internet was currently $65. I was not obviously going to pay that and they tried telling me that they cant adjust the bill. I was eventually able to have my bill adjusted magically when i said i wanted to cancel services. Then my internet consistently had issues buffering and they never took money from my account with auto pay or notified me until they added additional fees and demanded that i pay that. They even turned my internet off and wanted to charge me fees to turn it on, when once again they never took the money from auto pay! They said i was withdrawn from auto pay because my bank declined them but i have statements saying i had money in my account. They said it was my issue and they weren't going to adjust the amounts. I called them several times regarding the quality of internet and even after paying them because i needed internet, they took longer than 24 hours to restart it even though i was told it would be immediately on. They lie and dont accurately record anything, they bully you into thinking they are the only provider around you and they sneak any and all ways to charge you extra. I am canceling services this month because once again they are charging me an extra $22 for literally no reason and at this point im so exhausted from dealing with them, if it means im done with them then its worth it. We will see if they are honest to their word though and not charge me additional fees for leaving. read more

My sister moved and they refused to cancel her service- in fact, they are making her pay nearly two weeks' worth of service that her modem wasn't even plugged in. I'm actually shocked at the reviews of TDS internet. I was reading some of the reviews hoping for some reviews on the cable TV they offer but all I see are negative reviews on their internet. For me, personally, I've had a handful of incidents but they were eradicated within an hour or two and I've had internet with them when they were still Baja (several years). I have 100 meg download and it works fine at all times. I live in Hurricane and like I said I rarely have issues. Not sure why other people are but I'm not and they're easily the best price and the best provider where I live. If we decided to go with another company we would be getting like 5-20 meg download for more money. read more

With regard to TDS TV+ and it's fiber optic connection: I have their new system since April, and I'm already on my third box....terrible service since it takes at least 10 to 15 minutes to connect to the television service and then it's audio and visual continually skips during programs. Reminds me of the old tv tubes that needed to warm up before using. Lately, they couldn't reach a contractual agreement with AMC so, TDS removed the channel without any sort of compensation to their customers. The service is totally a waste of time and money, so choose another provider, as I am in the process of doing. read more

Sept 5 began the transfer to TDS. woman said she would port my phone number over---she didn't. a Week later I am speaking with another and mentioned no phone---OH, never ported. I'll port. 2 weeks to get my landline working. Supposed to bury my cable. Oct 16--- more than a month later--- they did. Cut off my internet to complete job. Did not tell me cutting internet, did not say they were leaving, did not check to see if we were up. Called--- I can't do anything. (only local customer service contact is billing, pathetic). They come and eventually they did, 10/21/2019. These are incompetent and lack 'courtesy.' BUT---St George oligarchy only let's 2-3 internet providers in so I will probably remain with the. I would give them a ZERO stars if I could...FIRST, I have had ongoing issues with my television both losing sound and pixelating with TDS. I call them and they say aren't aware of any problems--even though several of my neighbors indicate they are having this same problem. "Customer Service" is a call center in India. They have limited English speaking abilities, can't seem to comprehend my problem and have no idea how to resolve. (Interestingly enough, I ran into a TDS technician who was working in the area--he said that the problems I have been experiencing are real and have been encountered by several in my neighborhood. Overpopulation--too many lines into the antiquated junction boxes.) SECOND: No fair and uniform pricing for services. My father, sister and I all have homes in the same neighborhood--our bills vary as much as $52, even though we are all paying for the exact same services with the exact same products. We have asked about this, and are told they "cannot discuss this matter." THIRD, I pay extra for high speed Internet. I never fully receive it, and find that they are now slowing my Internet speeds anytime they choose to do so. At approximately 10:00 pm, my Internet speed slows down significantly for the night--not enough speed to even be able to operate my Amazon Alexa. Fourth, TDS just "updated" and "improved" their online bill pay. The result? I now have to create a new e-mail address just to be able to pay one of my two TDS account bills!!! I used to be able to have both bills sent to the same e-mail address, but no longer. Each bill has to have a separate e-mail address in order to use online bill pay. And no, they cannot merge bills. This is the worst company (not just Internet/Cable company) I have ever dealt with. If you can find ANY alternative to TDS, I would suggest you seriously consider taking it! read more

The internet itself works okay, but the company as a whole is very dysfunctional. The online portal is so buggy. It rarely ever works. Their online system hasn't allowed me to pay online for several months because it's always broken. I've had to pay via the phone and the rep tries to charge me $5 extra for taking payment over the phone each time. Shows how bad their customer service is because they penalize their customers for their awful systems. It's also very difficult to get them on the phone - their wait times are soooo long. Very frustrating company to work with. They need to hire some more advanced engineers to fix their online portal and train their customer service reps on how to treat their customers when their own company is dropping the ball! read more

However, today it's been out for over an hour. I just don't get it. When other providers are offering consistent service, TDS seems to have frequent outages. They can't even deliver 10% of their rated speed. I've been with TDS since the beginning (and Baja before TDS bought them out.) They are charging me $71.26 per month for 60 Mbps service (internet only). I have speedtest results going back many years and as of today my average download speed is sitting at 7.6 Mbps which works out to 4.6% of my 60 Mb plan. They promise and they promise things will get better but at the end of the day, nothing has ever changed (and its been YEARS) and I dont think it ever will. Dozens of service calls, hundreds of phone calls and still right where I started. The bottom line (and they finally admitted this to me) is that they have capacity issues due to the fact that they intentionally oversell their lines. Every single time I call, I am on hold for 30+ minutes, so I'm never able to get my issues resolved. I have work and can only call from 8am - 2 pm, so you'd think someone would answer the phone in between those hours... apparently not. Internet thru TDS is very poor, it says you are paying for the Ultra 100 internet which is up to 100 and is very poor service, always interrupted service. I received credits on my account and my service was still disconnected at no fault of my own. My bill is due on the 13th of the month and I was asked to pay today to get service back on?? The last I knew today is the 7th of the month and is not due then I was charged $3.95 to pay by credit card because the internet was not on to pay by internet!!! I have been with TDS for a year now and i have not had one good time on the phone with customer support. Im either on there for more than 2 hours waiting to talk to a representative or wait half a day for them to call you back. The customer support get all moody when i have a genuine problem with my service.I have had a technician come to my property 3 times and each time its a different issue. After they "fix" the problem ill have good connection for about 2 days before the problems start again. I can download anything without a problem but once you start streaming anything like movies, video games, and music the internet constantly drops for a few minutes then come back for a good 15 minutes before it drops out again. read more

When TDS took over Baja Broadband I was hoping it would be better customer service. I've learned to watch my bill because services are always being added. When they were BAJA, the added the phone service to my account. I had to literally go into the office and demand that something needs done. They did an investigation on my account and we found out that there was a lot of over charges, services added that we never used and so on. The same lady that's in customer service that gave me all of these lame excuses is still there and there is still excuses. Then last week I call the 800 number and again there are add on's that I never ordered. So, this Monday, I'm canceling my cable and turning in all equipment. I will keep internet, but I'm switching to HULU TV. I'm so sick of being lied to and being charged for things that I never signed up for. If people ask me who they should go to for internet of cable, I won't suggest TDS. Even though I haven't had issues with the internet. But, then I find out that they increased everyone's internet speed to 100mps, which I signed up for 60mps. So, I'm not sure how much more they are charging. Im constantly dealing with channels blacking out and turning off for ten minutes or more at a time.
