I came here to get some boba and do some work. They do have free wifi, which I always appreciate. I got just a regular milk tea with boba and it was decent. I also tried the regular black tea and it was alright as well. Overall, their menu is not as unique as a lot of other boba places and their drinks were just okay. I work in Mountain View and saw that Tea Annie was a fairly new boba place. I came in and asked for recommendations. Tried a couple samples, but decided to order the Earl Grey Milk tea with boba. The lady that helped me was nice, but I specifically asked if they were still doing the check-in offer on Yelp, which is 10% your order. The total came out to $4.17, including the 10% off which was pretty expensive. I think I will stick to the boba places close to home, which are cheaper and better in taste. This place also gives a stamp card, so if you really like this place, you would get a free boba after a certain amount of purchases. The Earl Grey milk tea was okay. You can taste the Earl Grey, but it is on the sweet side. I probably should've asked for half the sugar or something. The boba was nice and soft and was made fresh, since I felt the warmth of the boba against the cup. If I am craving boba, I don't know if I would give it another try. It was just okay. read more

Drinks are amazing! I usually just get t4, itea, gong cha, or shade tea, but this place is amazing and if it was close by I would definitely juSt have this everyday. They do take a long time to make the drinks, but they tend to it pretty well and always make it perfect! The aroma and the taste is amazing. The only thing that's annoying is that usually during after school hours the students from a local private school goes here and their just way too immature and annoying. Pretty good bubble tea! I ordered the black tea with soy milk and boba, as well as a $2 corn dog which tasted just like the ones at the fair! The tea had strong flavor and lots of boba, and the size was just like every other bubble tea restaurant - large, almost Starbucks venti size, and fairly priced. The restaurant itself was quaint and heavily staffed. There were plenty of tables inside to sit at, and I even saw a few people with Subway sandwiches from next door eating their food while enjoying their boba. So apparently outside food is welcome. unfortunately, the matcha latte with almond milk here was REALLY bland and watery, and the matcha powder was clumped and made the drink too bitter. i think it may have been the barista who made my drink since my drink came out PERFECTLY last time i visited tea annie :'( minus that, i like that this boba shop gives free samples, which makes it easier to figure out which drinks taste good. also, if you are not picky with your boba, as i am, the free wifi that tea annie offers customers makes this place a convenient and quiet spot to study and hang out with friends. read more

I absolutely love spontaneous boba finds and Tea Annie was quite the pleasant surprise on a hot July afternoon. After enjoying the sights of the Palo Alto Art festival, the hubby and I were craving something cool for our parched throats and like the boba fanatic I am, I quickly looked up a new destination and decided on Tea Annie. The location of Tea Annie isn't the most ideal since the plaza lacks foot-traffic of thirsty patrons, but at least parking is a breeze. The parlor is clean with bright colors and plenty of seating. The menu is organized onto three different television screens: Annie's Specialties, Annie's Tea Selections, and Annie's Afternoon tea, which is further divided into special types of herbal teas and snacks. The hubby and I had such a hard time choosing, but he eventually decided to get the peppermint oreo milk tea. Of course, we were expecting a tea with oreo and peppermint flavor, but the cashier informed us it was actually a slushy. WEIRD...It was the same case for the oreo milk tea as well. They definitely need to fix the wording on that. For myself, I decided to get the vanilla oolong milk tea with no additional topping, light ice, and at 80% sweetness. Drinks didn't take too long to make and the minute I saw the hubby's drink, I knew I had to try that first. As the name suggests, it tasted EXACTLY like an oreo slushy with peppermint flavor. The hubby greatly enjoyed it, noting how it wasn't too icy, but definitely cool enough for the hot weather. He happily sipped away without a single complaint. As for my vanilla oolong milk tea, I was pleasantly surprised at how light in flavor it was. If I hadn't known it was vanilla, I definitely wouldn't have guessed it, but I could tell that there was some other flavor there besides oolong, adding a nice creamy element. Really good! Tea Annie might not have looked like much when we first arrived, but I'm thrilled to say it exceeded our expectations. While the name of the drinks need some work, it doesn't take away from how great they taste. I'm certain we will be back again! read more

Me and my family went to tea Annie for some refreshing drinks. My kids got drinks with 50% sweetness and since I don't like my boba tea too sweet, I ordered mine with 25% sweetness. We felt that the drinks were too sweet and not corresponding to the level of sweetness that we had ordered. It felt as if they were 100% sweetness. Their plant milk tea looks super cute! It's a very creative concept (although it wasn't as delicious as it looked). The best part about the drink were the Oreo crumbs! However, when I asked the server if she could provide some more crumbs, she kept hesitating. I told her that I could pay extra, to which she said that they don't have a set amount they charge. Our first time at Tea Annie and we suspect that we'll be back! It's in one of those shopping complexes so it's easy to find and plenty of parking. However, the space is fairly small inside (maybe 4-5 tables?). There are also additional benches outside, so if it's nice out, you can sit out there and enjoy your boba! No bike parking though that we saw in the whole complex. The menu is fairly intensive. You can pick something straight off the menu or you can customize your drinks with other things. There are also lots of different snacks you can buy, such as pastries or crepes. We haven't tried these, but I like the options! Some sweet crepes, some savory snacks--it looks like you can easily get a snack while here. There were also little containers with tea leaves available at the counter that you can sniff and smell the different options. I definitely want to try one of the pineapple teas or maybe the apple pie tea next time. They also had a few samples of the teas at the counter. AND they were selling reusable straw sets! A rose gold or silver set of a boba straw, a regular straw, and a straw cleaner for $16.95 (plus tax). I got the lychee slushie with lychee popping pearls and the hubby got the mango smoothie with mango popping pearls! I LOVE that this place offers popping pearls, as this is the first tea place we've been to that has them! And they have several flavors, too, which is awesome! It was a fairly hot day, so the smoothie and the slushie were refreshing and very tasty! I think next time we'll have to try some of the actual teas. I would love to see a green tea smoothie mix on the menu or something similar, but it seems that the smoothies/slushies are all ice/fruit mixes. Fruit tea is yummy! Real fruit! 25% sweetness, which was amply sweet enough. The fruit is cut too big to drink through the straw, which is a bit of a pain, so you have to fish it out with your fingers or makeshift straw chopsticks. Hubs got grapefruit green tea. 25% sweetness w/ boba. Weird combo. Boba was hard, not a big fan. Mango smoothie was good, but would get it less sweet next time. I've been coming here since they've opened. I have never had a bad drink from here. They are really safe due to COVID. There's a table at the front where you place your order and the other door to the side is where you pick it up. It's very efficient and safe for the staff and customers. I came here with my Mom today to get some boba. I didn't wait in line because the people in front of us already put their order in. I ordered the new Okinawa milk tea (brown sugar tea) and my Mom got the strawberry tea (no milk). My Mom loves their strawberry tea, it's her favorite from all the boba shops in Mountain View/Los Altos. This is because they give a lot of strawberry chunks in the tea. My favorite drinks from here is almond milk tea, vanilla oolong milk tea, and peach tea (no milk). They also have non-dairy options here if you're lactose intolerant like my sister. Out of all the boba places in Mountain VIew they are the most consistent with the sweetness level, I always get 50% sweet in my drinks and it actually tastes like it's 50%. (Some places it's always too sweet or no sugar at all when you get 50%.) read more

I had the afternoon shift at work so didn't have to go in to the office until later that afternoon. I decided to come here with hubby to check out their crepes and drinks. We ordered the plant tea and the California crepe. Both were super delicious. The crepe was ginormous. They do stamp cards but you don't get a free drink like many drink places; instead, you get $3.50 off your 11th drink after buying 10 drinks. The cashier girl was very nice however, I knocked off 1 star because the gentlemen in the back making crepe (I believe is the owner) didn't seem to be treating the cashier girl nicely. He was ordering her around and telling her to hurry up. Come on dude, it was just my husband and I when we got there. What's the rush? Then, while we were waiting for our crepe, another customer came in and he again was telling the girl to help the other customer. I was so excited that I found this place with good Yelp rating and wanting to try the organic butterfly tea with lemon; it tasted actually like a fancy lemonade with a lot of ice. I double checked with the cashier if the tea is with the right amount of ice; and it was confirmed. The drink I ordered was 50% less sugar, so I was expecting the drink should be more on the sour side; however, it tasted really artificially sweet; thus, I highly suspect the drink is made with lemonade syrupy or some kind of sweetener. She made only one choice and it was awesome. Miss the old days. I digress...Tea Annie takes over the long standing froyo place that was in this Safeway strip mall. Theres a new boba place right in the middle of a Los Altos neighborhood! Seems like Los Altos is bandwagoning on the boba trend, this being the second one opening up within the year. This place is fairly new as you tell on yelp with no phone number or hours listed, but i think they close at 8 or they're still testing out their hours of operation. My friend and i came in one night to try it out and the first thing i noticed was how quiet it was cause there was no music playing. However, the girl who greeted us was very pleasant and was open to answering any questions we had about the tea. The menu is pretty flashy and cutesy, but it seems out of place for a cafe. We ordered Black milk tea and Sakura green tea. Both of which tasted fresh and refreshing! We decided to sit around and admire the place and realized that when the second group of ppl came in, that the lack of music made this group sound super loud and whle place echoed s it was hard to hear eachother. Tea Annie is an excellent bike ride destination with my son. He likes the slushie with boba, and I get green milk tea. 50% sugar is about as sweet as we care to go. I don't know if it was the specific batch or just the almond milk but it tasted off and very sweet (like artificially sweetened). It was very orange too, not like usual black milk tea. I drank about less than half and couldn't drink it any more. I did smell the teas they have up front and I wish I had tried the rose iron goddess oolong tea. I may just have to come back and give a second try, but the one I got was not a good drink. Woohoo! I'm excited to see a new boba shop in Mountain View. There are so many in the Bay Area, but I'm always open to seeing and trying new things. The shop is located in a big plaza and is across the lot from the Mountain Mikes. The menu is simple -- chose from their teas on one board or from their specialties on board #2 and add some toppings from board #3. I got the plant milk tea, which I didn't see on the menu. I liked that I could taste the tea since I like my drinks strong. I'm a sucker for cute looking drinks like plant milk teas :) The boba was nice and chewy too. Tea Annie is great! Awesome and friendly staff, the space inside seats a good 9 with a place to sit outside as well. I really enjoy the fact that they don't have a bajillion drinks to choose from! I bought the "Plant Tea" that has Oreo, a mint on top imitating a leaf, and a gummy worm that fell to the bottom of my boba tea. I would say it is fairly sweet even when I asked for 50% so I would recommend 25% sweetness. :) My sister said the Green Milk Tea reminded her of a classic Taiwanese green MT which is a positive mark for us!
