    Hoijcha drink

Love always coming here and trying something new on the menu. By far one of my fav matcha drink places, but I def enjoy their hoijcha drink too! I love when they had the BT21 collab and they'll soon have a snoopy! One of the workers there Denise, so sweet and a genius barista! Check her out!

We stopped by to try out the drinks here, and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of options. We both enjoyed our drinks and plan to come back. Definitely a good spot to meetup with a small group of friends.

Had this bookmarked for awhile. Strawberry chrysanthemum tea and yuzu dragonfruit tea were just okay. I feel that the dragonfruit was syrup and not the real thing for the pricey drink. The strawberry was overpowered by the chrysanthemum so it wasn't balanced. Free parking downstairs is a really big plus because there's literally no street parking. Service was awesome and friendly.

Junbi is a cute matcha/coffee shop! The space is cozy and has chairs and tables to enjoy your beverage/treat. I ordered a Matcha Affogato soft serve with coconut flakes - the matcha was swirl with vanilla. The matcha is delicious and light, and the small chunks of ice give a great texture! The service was quick and the staff were welcoming!

Junbi has quickly become one of my favorite matcha spots in the Bay Area! JUNBI IS UNDERRATED AND IT NEEDS TO BE TALKED ABOUT MORE!! With so many matcha options around San Jose and nearby cities, this location still stands out to me for its smooth texture, balanced flavors, and consistent quality. The drinks are not overly sweet and feel thoughtfully crafted. I love how they use the RIGHT type of matcha, that pairs well with their flavors.. if you know what I mean, then you know! For the variety of items I tried, this is what I got: Strawberry jasmine green tea Guava matcha latte Blueberry lavender matcha Persimmon matcha with persimmon cold foam Mango matcha Strawberry matcha Matcha cold brew Guava cold brew Strawberry refresher Strawberry hojicha latte Rice ball flight with snow crab, salmon, and mentaiko My favorite was definitely the blueberry lavender matcha. Their cold foam series is honestly very good and adds a fun twist to traditional matcha drinks. I also really enjoyed the persimmon matcha with persimmon cold foam, which tasted refreshing and unique. From what I understand, this flavor may be limited or seasonal, so it is worth asking staff if it is still available. One item that genuinely surprised me was the Mango Mission soft serve. It is a matcha vanilla swirl soft serve topped with mango purée and chia pudding. It was very refreshing, unique, and the chia pudding added a texture I did not expect but ended up really enjoying! The space itself is very beautiful and very clean, making it a comfortable place to sit and enjoy your drink or dessert. They also sell merchandise and matcha products in store, which adds to the overall experience. The staff were super nice and attentive throughout the visit! Overall, this is still one of my favorite matcha spots that I would gladly return to!

Loved the hojicha latte here! Got it iced on a hot day and have been craving a good hojicha latte for a while-I do wish there were more cafes that served hojicha along with matcha in the South Bay. Also tried some of the vanilla matcha swirl soft serve, which was quite sweet so I would probably try just the matcha next time. The inside was a bit packed and it was hard to find a table that would comfortably seat 5 people so we squeezed together at a smaller table. The parking structure is a bit confusing but nice that there is a garage available for retail parking.

This place is a favorite amongst many for good reason! They use high quality matcha (they have uji matcha ), hojicha, and loose leaf's tea. Truly an option for any milk tea lover. Taste: I get 0% sugar and the hojicha did not disappoint! They use fresh milk and strong tea, so I found myself finishing my drink quickly. I also really liked their vanilla ice cream. Parking: Very convenient underground parking lot right by them. Service: They've always been kind of accommodating. Truly a job to interact with!

    Flight of three rice balls

I had a little time after work and decided to try this place per recommendation from a friend. It wasn't busy and walked up to the kiosk to order. I selected the Madagascar Vanilla Bean Cold Brew with organic soy milk and a flight of all three of their rice balls to go. The wait was only a few minutes and I was able to get my drink and food. The matcha was delicious and with the vanilla bean just sweet enough without it being too much. Love the combination of flavors to balance out the bitterness of matcha with the vanilla bean. The rice balls I opened up when I got home and they put the nori into a separate bag and the each rice ball was wrapped up in plastic. I had a mentaiko, snow crab, and salmon rice balls. Once assembled they were absolutely delicious and still warm. Mentaiko was salty but so savory at the same time, the snow crab was the best since it wasn't super salty but also had some sweetness to it, and the salmon was really good. Honestly I would have loved another flight of these rice balls. Will come back to try some of the other drink options.

Cute cafe that serves a variety of matcha and other tea drinks. They also have ice cream! There's underground retail parking. The stairway leads right next to the entrance of the store. You can order online or at the kiosk in store. Staff is quick to make drinks and are knowledgeable about drinks being served. Any cold drinks ordered via their online website are put into a fridge while awaiting pickup. I felt the hojicha was a bit watered down and small for its price point. The ganbaru ceremonial matcha cold brew was not extremely rich in taste and also had a high price point for size. Overall, drinks are cute to look at and the teas are just ok. I did stay a while to do work using the wifi. The shop itself was comfortable and had electrical outlets for plugging my charger into. The restroom was out of order during my visit, but guests were allowed to use the retail parking's restroom (which was extremely clean and well kept!). It's a nice cafe to catch up with friends, get work done, and have a quick drink. Would love to come back to try their other desserts or teas!

Back again for the persimmon matcha! Good flavor, persimmon puree was nice and sweet. Sad it's a seasonal item, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts! Quick and friendly service. Decent amount of seating to hang out and chill.

Good strong hojicha hot milk tea. Full on roasted green tea flavor. Got it less sweet which was perfect. Good price for the size of the cup. The Persimmon Matcha is seasonal. Bottom layer of the drink was persimmon puree so also full on flavor. Persimmon kinda reminds me of apricot and light molasses mixed together. The Mango Matcha soft serve was yummy. Smooth, creamy ice cream with light matcha flavor which is perfect because it didn't overwhelm the sweet tart mango drizzle. Matcha flavor was not bitter at all. Like it a lot. Cute open sitting area. Nice staff, too. Parking garage in the back of the store in same building.

    guava matcha latte
    Jessica H.

It was eh, I expected more flavor of matcha and hojicha from here. The strawberry hojicha latte had mild hojicha flavor. Kind of like a chocolate milk flavor when tried separately. Once mixed with the fruit, the strawberry flavor was super sweet and also had tons of seeds in there. The hojicha flavor became non-existent. Disappointing. The guava matcha latte sounded unique (I don't see guava offered everywhere). The matcha flavor was a bit weak when tried on its own. Stronger than the hojicha, but still weaker than other shops. Once the guava flavor gets mixed in, all you get is guava and it is pretty sweet. Like overly sweet. It also had a thick consistency which was not pleasant to drink. Almost like cornstarch?? Not good. The matcha vanilla swirl soft serve was so-so, the flavor was not super matcha-y. The vanilla was a bit bland, overall it's just an icy treat. It was not worth it imo.

Came here for a book event hosted by Kindred Curiosity, "Stories We Swap: Where stories meet connection -- and every book finds a new home," promoting author Amanda Sung's debut novel "How to Break a Girl." Really sweet and cute space! The staff was super nice and accommodating of us. I ordered a few onigiris, and they gave me the wrong one, but were quick to correct my order and I got a snow crab for free. Great space for bubble tea, snacks, and gatherings!

There are a couple of tables in the inside and a lot outside for you to sit! The cashier at the counter was very friendly and attentive. We waited around 10 minutes for our drinks, where we were able to take our sandwiches from the refrigerated portion of the case. It seems like there are sandwiches you can order where they will make it for you in the back, which I would like to try next time. Between me and my partner, here is what we got: * Sakura iced coffee: this exceeded my expectations! I thought the Sakura flavor came through without being too sweet and surprisingly the coffee did not overpower it and complemented it very well. * Banana matcha: this might be one of the first banana matchas I have had that did not taste artificial. I really like how they give you a small spoon shovel so you can eat some of the pudding top. So cute! * Egg sando: very yummy and they used the perfect amount of mayo. It was a light, delightful bite. * Strawberry sando: now this is the overall winner that stole my heart! This might be the best strawberry sando I had and I was surprised! Their strawberries were not only fresh and crisp, but the deep sweet vanilla bean flavor you got from the whipped cream was phenomenal! I usually do not care for strawberry sandos but this one got my attention! Overall, awesome place in Mountain View!

I recently got the ricotta and honey toast, which was delicious and light! Heads up, though, as expected, they do run low on stock later in the day. Some of them don't even go to any other bakery besides this one and as such, I was excited to try their pastries. I got a combination of both basic items such as their croissant and their more decorative items such as their Paris Brest. The fundamental difference between American pastries and their French counterparts is that the latter are much less heavy and sweet and in that sense, Maison Alyzee does a good job. However, that quality really isn't that important to me unless I'm making baked goods at home or having them at a friend's. When it comes to a bakery, I care more about nuanced flavors, tastes, and textures and in those aspects, this place didn't really blow me away. To put it this way, I would rather travel to Midwife and the Baker and have one of their croissants at a cheaper price even if it may be more of a sugar bomb. I was actually contemplating knocking off another star because of how much the pastries cost an arm and a leg (almost $10+ for some of the individual items). In the end, I decided against it because this bakery is the first I've visited where the pastries both look nice AND taste good (Paris Baguette and Alexander's Patisserie, take note). Overall, this place is good if you are looking for pastries that both look and taste nice. Perhaps my palate is just not sophisticated enough but I just don't get any unique taste that warrants them being the most authentic French patisserie in the area. Personally, I would visit Midwife, Craftsman, and (soon) Arsicault in Palo Alto to get a more "quality' pastry.

That's the plot twist I didn't know I needed…read more We stopped here on my way out of Santa Clara heading to San Francisco -- it's conveniently close to a bunch of other spots, and since it's tucked inside a hotel, parking was ridiculously easy. (Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!
