Competition is fierce when it comes to boba tea shop they come and go like gone with the wind only a distance memory. Tao Tao Tea is an exception a Taiwanese boba shop located in an area comprised of a few surrounding stores. Ample parking lot as Bro and I came by on a Friday afternoon. Interior space is quite limited there's a claw machine several snacks and other miscellaneous items mainly take-out though they do have a outdoor seating. Order is either thru a kiosk or at the counter payable by credit or cash. Menu selection is simple as I chose Thai boba milk tea cold, regular ice 25% sugar regular size very refreshing and Bro chose wealthy healthy vitamin consist of orange juice/slices regular ice, cold, 25% sweetness regular size no toppings price for both drinks were reasonable would definitely come back only on the weekdays.

I got a matcha tornado with zero sugar, and it was unique and quite good. There was no one else there, but the drink still took quite a while. Will come back when I am in the area again.

I stopped in to pickup a couple of new flavors. *Sexy Pink Lychee: fresh organic lychee, signature salted cheese, crystal boba (3.5/5). Pretty color. I love lychee and this didn't disappoint. *Happy Family Milk Tea: premium non-dairy black milk tea with boba, pudding, & grass jelly (4/5). All the toppings were delicious. The tea was good. The service was super friendly and nice.

Cute little tea shop with claw machine and adorable chairs. Only enough space for one group of four max to sit inside, but it seems like this is more of a drop-by location than a sit down and chill location. Parking is easy--they share the plaza lot with the other stores. They have unique flavors, like Rose and Lime, which drew me to their menu. I think the flavors are niche, maybe a little too much so... I also ordered with the cashier instead of a kiosk and was unaware that the sweetness level was set to 50%. I wish I was asked or told it was already set at 50% for this drink! But I like that they offer student specials (like getting a $150 pass for one boba each day of the month). Cute, seems like a small hole-in-the-wall, family shop. Would come again!

Such a cute mom and pop boba shop. I liked the two drinks I ordered (royal milk tea with boba and milk tea with soybean cheese foam.) The milk tea with soybean cheese foam was very creamy. Also the boba was a good texture! I have to say I was quite impressed with the drinks which were delicious with very good tea flavor. One of the better spots in the Bay Area! Will have to come back and try some of their fruit teas as it looks like their lychee drink is quite popular. Ask for a stamp card and sometimes there is a promotion running if you pay with cash!

This boba spot is top of my list for unique drinks! They have really unique creations such as persimmon fruit tea and chestnut milk tea. Their fruit teas is where they really shine. We ordered the sexy pink lychee and milk tea w/ soybean cheese foam. The sexy pink lychee is usually my go to. Super refreshing and the crystal boba was a nice touch. The milk tea w/ soybean cheese foam was also creamy and delicious, though the soybean flavor was not strong enough in my opinion. The cheese foam was just a little too airy. I like mine thicker, but that's just if I had to be picky. FYI their drinks run pretty sweet. I'd recommend to go down on the sweetness. The 25% was still quite sweet imo.

Honestly the best milk tea in the area, their tea is all organic and real milk. The only tea house I visit in this area!

Taotaotea located right next to the o reilly is a small boba shop in saratoga. Owned by taiwanese aunties who seem to enjoy cutesy aesthetics and very homey and loving vibes. Aunties were really nice and helped us choose the popular drinks They have a lot of deals especially for the prospect high schoolers across the street Overall some of their tea and boba is very unique but the tea wasn't as strong for some. I really enjoyed their fruit teas as it had a lot of flavor to it. Boba was also solid when fresh, but overall isn't the besttt boba in the bay but gets by Would come again if i need a quick boba fix in saratoga

Ridiculous service! Not my first time here, and their drink was good. I recommended this place to quite a few of my friends! But they changed the staff and the service is ridiculous! I put an order on their machine, paid in full my credit card, waited for more than 10 mins, got a text message saying my order is ready. Then, here it comes! The person said she didn't get my order, AND she was too busy to look it up on her side in the system, AND refused to refund my money!!!! What is the difference between this and robbing! The whole communication was so rude and I'm very very disappointed! Now, this shop owes me $7 dollars and an apology!

This review is based on a series of visits vs one. They have a wide variety of drinks - which I always enjoy. However, twice I've gone here to get a specific drink that's supposed to come with water chestnuts and/or mochi only to be told AFTERWARDS that they ran out of those ingredients and substituted it with boba (with the drinks already made/ did not ask before making this substitute). I would have liked a heads up and given an option for what replacement or alternative I would like. Outside of that i have no qualms with the drinks offered!

Their drinks are always so fresh and delicious! This time I ordered the fruit tea, and it had just the right balance of sweetness--super refreshing and thirst-quenching. On top of that, the plushies here are absolutely adorable, and I couldn't resist wanting to collect them! The shop itself is really cozy and fun, with cute decorations and even a claw machine. It's a great place to hang out with friends or just relax on your own. If you're looking for a boba shop with high-quality drinks, a relaxed atmosphere, and some extra little surprises, this spot is highly recommended! I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

Over the years, I've stopped by a couple times while in the area. My favorite is the Milk Tea with Soybean Cheese Foam! Simple and creamy. You can taste the tea well and it's not overly milky. The Sexy Pink Lychee is also a fan favorite if you're looking for something more sweet and refreshing. Not a must-try boba shop, but this a good spot to check out if you need a boba fix near Westgate.

It wasn't overly florally, instead it just enhances the coffee without overpowering. Even more so, the vanilla latte was even better because that Madagascar bean flavor really shines through. I recommend getting this one if you're unsure what to order. We got to chit chat with the owner and he makes all the syrups from scratch. Both the lavender and vanilla bean syrup are homemade which is why you can really taste and appreciate the difference. The owner was very personable, open to criticism and all around a pleasant person. He seemed very knowledgable about coffee and clearly passionate about what he does. One thing I really appreciated was the temperature of the coffee. The lattes were served nice and hot. They prioritize the coffee experience rather than latte art which I appreciated. It's not overly milky, and it's not so strong that it feels like you're drinking straight grass. If you're a matcha lover, you know exactly what I'm talking about. They somehow found the perfect balance, and I haven't found another spot in the Bay Area that consistently hits the mark like they do. The staff is always friendly and does an amazing job keeping the line moving while still making drinks with care. Even when it's busy, they're hustling to get everyone served as quickly as possible. My advice? If you don't like matcha, don't wait in line. If you don't like lines and you don't like matcha... what the heck are you doing here? But if you love good matcha, appreciate having lots of drink options, and enjoy supporting a small business that's doing things right, Matcha Matcha is absolutely worth the visit. I think I was expecting the matcha quality to be a bit more "intense" -- I think the cream top ended up taking over the flavor and the drink felt more milky than matcha-y lol. The hojicha on the other hand had a ton of depth; it was rich but texture-wise, it tasted a little too thick for my liking. I'd encourage looking at their IG for their current trailer hours though!
